i have been woundering how can you tell what gifts you have such as being phycic and you can read peoples minds and you can tell what a persons feeling before they even know it

lol... by putting them into practice...

and not even all the "gifts" comes from magic...

i have gifts given by the almighty God...
there are various gifts explicit in the bible, i know that i have at least two of them...

the word of wisdom and divers kinds of tongues...

1 Corinthians's 12: 8 "For to one is given through the Spirit the word of wisdom; and to another the word of knowledge, according to the same Spirit:
9 to another faith, in the same Spirit; and to another gifts of healings, in the one Spirit;
10 and to another workings of miracles; and to another prophecy; and to another discernings of spirits; to another [divers] kinds of tongues; and to another the interpretation of tongues:
11 but all these worketh the one and the same Spirit, dividing to each one severally even as he will."

As the above post states .. You have to use them . Practice is the key to refining any thing that you may have for gifts

If you have them you'll more than likely know about it.

practice, trial and error, and any other such methods as you can come up with to see what gifts you have.

What kind of powers?

like i can read minds see and hear and talk to spirits and i have visions and i know when somthing is going to happen before it does and also i know when someone is feeling down about somthing before they even know that they feel that way

So why would you be afraid to hone your skill?

because i dont know what will happen because it got me introuble before and i dont want anything to happen to me thats why im scared to use most of them

you should only be afraid of it, when you cannot call it to your command at will.

Power is what is. The capacity you have for it, is the choice you have. You can either remain, a weak sniviling individual afraid to look yourself in the mirror.

Or you accept who you are, stop running, and denying yourself the full capacity you have. Its up to you to figure out if you have it in you, to live as you are, or live a lie.

So many sad souls choose to live the lie, when they have the ability to rise above it. But that is their own corruption and weakness. They deserve no pitty, nor kindness. If thats what they choose, then let them rot. Spirit has no time for wastes like that.

yeah your right well see i have no clue when its the time to use it and when not to and i have no reason to use it even though i want to use them because it will help other people in the long run but i dont know how to make them stronger

meditation is one of the best aides. as well as just practicing. Using any situation that would stand to give you experience in it.

Your friends now might not be your friends in a month, or 5 months. Or a year. You may be in a situation in your life, as life is want to do, where you need the experiences of the past to show you, what to or not to do to survive what your dealing with.

Im thinking it would also relate to how you discover your regular talents you have to try it and see if it's something that you want to pursue. For example you can take piano lessons but you may not have the talent to be a pianist.

After the birth of my kids i became very empathic. Years later I'm still trying to harness and control them.

so what should i do

Don't be afraid to use them. As others have posted the best way is to practice and define them properly. As it has been stated they are gifts, you can choose how you want to use them. If you use them for the purpose of good, then you'll be fine, if you use them in a negative way it may come back to you. But all in all you should be fine, just practice on what you have.

I know i have some powers I am just not sure what they all are. I was told this by my HPS we are still discovering what they are and when i find out is when I start to practice. As far as when and how to use them it may be good if u find people that have the same powers, like maybe join a group they will be able to help u

I do believe that you know what gifts you have in the moment that they manifest themselves and you are informed about that sort of manifestations...
Also, like other people mentioned earlier, without practice and study any gift that you might receive or have are useless...

reading what intrest you, pratice what you feel you have a gift for, if you do have a gift for it, you will know and find out with reading and pratice.

IT IS NOT USELESS i think to pratice something you desire to have whether or not you have had a gift for it or not.

thanks yall so much but my question is how can you tell what gifts are ment to be used because the silly thing is im a hard core christian so i have no clue why i have thease powers sometimes i use them but i try to use them for good but sometimes it gets the spirts mad and they enter my body after they knock me out but thats a different story

You can also meditate before you use them or practice to make sure you have complete control over them not the other way around

First remember what you call skills is truly a gift, however with every gift comes a certain amount of curse. Be careful and take baby steps in learning what your limits are. I know I have the same gift myself and there was a time it was very frightening experience back in the day. Often reading people can be a problem, people don't always want to be read and have thoughts and feelings very sacred to them. In that keep what you learn to yourself, but allow it to help you be more understanding of what thye are going through, take care and be safe.

from what some have told me it was just a they felt like they could do certain things. and they tried them... and it felt right so they practiced it

It sounds as though a cry out for attention is in the air. I am not quite sure if I should answer seriously or give a bit of sarcasm. Instead, I will agree with most who have already posted...With an extra piece of advice.

When you gain less confusion within your life concerning your "abilities", the discipline of learning to hone will come in time...As I am considering you young of age, I will say it takes quite a while for one to become aware of the control of such "abilities".

Only time will tell.

well its not for attention it really happened and i know that i should be careful about my powers but i know that i can use them i just choose not to i guess and yes im popular and a hard core christian but that dont mean that it cant happen to me and im popular because im respectful to everyone and i know that if i do use it i use it when im around the people that know that i can do that stuff thats all

Why do you keep refering to them as powers?

The main reason why one would refer to the "abilities" as "powers" is age. Young adults are still growing in knowledge and don't nessessarily know how to term things.

It does not matter the popularity factor, or the christian aspect of it. I understand that you seem to have these certain "abilities". I am not questioning them. Just the reliability of this thread.

You sound extremely excited about these "abilities" you think you have. You must understand that being religious has nothing to do with anything under the blue moon concerning any sort of clairvoyance.

To be less niave now and in the future is a definite must, and not to rely on popularity as a protocal at any time. Respect is earned as well as maintained. But do not correspond with any sort of clairvoyance.

This is not about being a super hero I think. Seems more like what is being asked is in the finding of subtle abilities. You will not shoot freaking lasers out of your eyes, but you might be sensitive to anothers needs. That is a true 'power' IMO.

spirits takeing over is a forum of physical mediumship and channeling.
and it is a gift that a few i have heard afew haveing.
and is not hog wash. and it is possible to be christain and believe in spirits. some in my area are called a pagan christain. meaning, live along with nature yet have alot of christain fundamentals. :)

You find out what to look for and if something your doing matches than you may have opened you mind up to that gift.

and iv always been able to cheer people up, knowing what to say and what will help, giving the best advise they have heared *so they keep telling me* ect

exsept when it comes to my own problems ^^ not pay enough attention to myself^.^

First there is no "magical test" that is going to tell you what gifts you have.

You say you are scared of losing your friends because your popular, I mean really come on. So you keep it to yourself.

You must practice , practice , practice.
Get yourself someone you trust and practice with them, I mean what path are you on ?

i've seen it several times and it's not a pretty thing to see... here in my country we have thousands of this kind of cases...

the person who is possessed starts to have convulsions and foaming for the mouth... in some cases no matter who the person is or how old, i've seen old ladies being possessed, and it needs more than 5 strong mens to hold her down... try to not take this cases so slightly, they are very serious...

Your on the internet... go search what you are interested in knowing! You know what you can do, just go find sites that tell you about it. more than likely you will know what is right and what is wrong.

I also can read people... and yes I did not like it sometimes... so I got annoyed with it and did research and asked people everythign I could and I managed to control it perfectly well. Now I only read people when I choose to... which is normally when there is either malicious intent that I sense or if someone is upset and needs someone to comfort them. But for the most part, other than those times when I feel I should, I make it stay dormant.

Something you just find out you have sometimes by accident, other times with an inkling something is different about yourself and then concentrate and use and practice your gifts.

Figuring out that you have a gift can often be a scary thing. I'm an empath. I'm actually able to not just tell what people are feeling when they're feeling it even if they hide it, but I can also take away emotional pain. The problem is that I haven't fully learned to use my gift, so instead of just letting it go, I end up keeping the negative energy inside. The key is to use it a little bit at a time.

I've also lately been able to sense spirits much better than I used to be. At first it scared the living crap out of me, but I've become used to them, and I've learned to keep my fear on a very minimal level. And I don't just sense them. I hear them and see them. If you see or sense spirits and you don't mind it, talk to them. Ask them what they want. If you don't like it, or you feel uneasy about it, don't let it show. They'll 'attack' you more if you're afraid.

I dunno if it helps any, but there you go. ^_^

Never fear what you have or think you have as an ability(ies) embrace and learn and explore.

SweetNloving first off if your friends can't accept you for who you are they aren't really your friends. Your gifts are a part of who you are. Some "Christians" may try to tell you that your gifts are evil and or of the devil, but that is only true if you use them for that. If you believe they are a divine gift and you use them for good to help others and not for personal gain then that is what they are. Some may prefer to call them abilities but since not everyone can do them that ability is still a gift. People that don't believe that more than likely don't believe in a divine entity. Be true to yourself and your beliefs, don't worry what others think. Being hard core Christian as you say the best place to start would be to pray to God for guidance. You can also do research on your gifts there are many discussed even in the Bible. Just be careful of the sources you choose to stay true to your faith. There is nothing wrong with trying to practice and better your gifts as long as you use your faith and good conscience guide you.

Fallen696 you may want to learn about codependency since that is pretty much what you described. It's a condition where being unsuccessful with correcting problems in your own life you try to fix them in other peoples lives. You may even be good at helping others while unable to solve your own. It is a very common problem and is a form of addiction.

thanks for the help i never thought of it that way i have always thought of it as a type of set back but you know what its not really a set back thought and your right about the friend thing but its hard to live a double life you know not just with my gifts but see im a singer and i have to act like im not who i am infront of people because they judge me and they make fun of me i was born a singer but i try not to live like one because yeah they think that im high matnenced and i dont like that but in a way i am its like i have two personalitys its crazy

The next time someone tries to judge you just tell them "Judge not lest ye be judged.". You can't spend your life being or acting how other people think you should it will literally eat you up inside emotionally and physically.

I don't think you can ever truly tell what all your gifts are in this world. there are some things that you can do better than others and those are the ones you concentrate on. if you have a gift like that then use it as often as you can.

you can really never tell exactly some you will know but some others will be harder tto find since there are so many

I don't think anyone has 'many' gifts. I believe everyone just has 'one' gift that they have because they'll know how to use it and what to use it for.

I kinda just fell in on mine. I saw someone doing it. It was actually a Martial arts demonstration and i asked how he did it. He said that not everyone can channel energy but he would show me how he did it. It just happened to work for me. So just experimenting I guess

well the way i act like a singer is i want the best of the best and i sing all the time and also sign autographs to the girls at school to them im a famous singer but to some im just a reg. girl who can sing well im like the famous one in school everyone likes me even if im mean and hateful but on the gift thing i only use them when i need to use them like the strange thing happend the other day i had a vision that Hannah Montana had a twin and the twin would sing when hannah was sick the twin would sing so that she dont have to cancel any concerts and loose any money and it was her mothers idea and the next day she got caught useing a double in one of her concerts. i thought that was strange but the reason why hannahs mom wanted her to have a twin is because if she lost money from her concerts she cant go shopping because shes a shop aholic and she is using hannahs money to buy material stuff instead of using it for hannahs future

My gifts just kind of made themselves known over time.... They are gifts like being artistic or mechanical in nature. However, like with all gifts they must be developed and nurtured to achieve their true potential.

gifts are something that you can have that maybe you got from a grandma or other family member or sometimes your just born with them in my case i always had gifts just took me awhile to actionly realize what and howto further develope them which wasnt easy i am still learning about being a empath and also be able to hear the dead. It is a very long process but i am very grateful for these gifts and will always treasure them because for some people they arent luckey enough to have these. well my mom could hear them and see them and also she had alot of things happen to her when she was younger it may of rubbed off on me.

I noticed my gifts whilst being in water. it enhanced it and made it clear to me water acts as a magnifyer for me. but it depends really even if u dont think you have a gift try and see what happens its the only wy to find out really

I have been practicing the Jedi Mind trick for yrs still hasn't worked. Honestly though I believe were born with innate talents whether they be from God or just due to our minds we are able to develop many a wonderful gift. I am sure some think of them as a curse but myself see them as gifts

if you have them you will kno but in the same sence of having them if you do there is never any way to turn them off of make them disappear when we feel we dont want to use them they are always there and ready to rip lol trust me i have premonitions and somtimes i wish i could turn them off because the scare me but in the end the lesson that was to be taught or told had been done

I personally would use meditation with purple and white candles and begin to seek and try to harness the gifts you have been given. Time and patience brings great wisdom in the search for our gifts and talents.

Well...people are people, we tend to think the same general things most of the time. I wouldn't find it very surprising if I and the stranger sitting next to me on a plane were thinking the same thing at some point during the flight.

I think certain gifts are basic, pretty much anyone can have them, it's just a matter of tapping into them.

Well before you know you do you will do it without knowing it because you are unable to control it and then once you find out or see that something is strange then you learn to start controling it.

simply by paying attention to yourself and also looking carefully to your own behaviour... sometimes you said or did something or maybe when you sleep, you dream and those dreams mean something... it's practice and attention...

Yes, these abilities can and do exist. You will know it if you have them.

do you think you have a gift or somethign? wouldn['t you notice if you happend to be especially clarvoiant or soemthing? like, havng adream that came true, always feeling majorly strong deja vu, or having strong feeling about someone...like reading them etc...like by puttingthem into practice either inadvertently or on purpose, like if you think you have acertain gift, so you try and use it...yeah....

i have been seeing things and it scares me but in a way it dont you know but i know how to handel it now i have been trying to get rid of the bad spirits and its been working but i only see the demons when im talking to the wrong people and i get dizzy and i wake up with a headach its crazy

If you have to ask whether or not youre psychic, chances are you are not.

You can find out who you are, as well as what gifts you may have through exploreing yourself. Meditate, try to ask yourself what gifts you have. Always remember, practice makes perfect as well. Try some of these gifts out, if you feel you have them.

I've been lucky with my gifts. Although I was told from a young age not to use them that it was evil, I got older.

I learned to use them and understand that the more you use them, the more you understand their power and purpose.

Also, the more practice the more powerful each gift becomes. All this goes for me personally. Hope it helps.

i happen to have the exact gift of knowing what people feel before they feel it themselves. so i'll tell you this, you are born with the gifts. it is not something you can buy or anything like that. with time, you come to realize that you are different from all the other humans. and as you figure that out, you search for the thing that makes you different from humans. and in doing this, you will come to find that one, you do have a power, and two, what your power is.

Usually by accident or observation.

I have the ability to bond with cats, dogs, and other higher mammals.

The same abilities do not work with freaking birds or rodents. Always bite me...

I also have the ability to convey information between groups of people who have issues communicating with eachother.

At work, I am able to translate what soldiers need and want to a group of engineers that know nothing about military crap, and then I can do that same right back, explain complex technical stuff to soldiers so that they understand it.

First and foremost you have to open you mind and heart to be able to accept and realize what gifts you may or may not have. Once that is done you have to focus you mind on what you do have and hone and sharpen them.

Like many others have said before me, you need to learn what your gifts are, you need to learn how to use them, and practice using them a lot.

I am still struggling with what gifts I have, but I am trying to learn as much as I can about them. I won't discuss them here because I'm still learning about them, I have recently started researching them. But one I know I have for sure is being an empath. One other that I'm trying to learn about is being able to know when someone I know is close to me, it is as if I can sense their presence. I also know when someone wants me to call them on the phone, lol.

I can tell what people I'm close to are thinking occasionally but never strangers. Maybe I can do that because I know them so well.

There are Quizzes (you can find them in most peoples journals)that even though they are novelty will give you
a better idea of the areas you rate in from there I invite you to contact me for a few things that helped a neighbor define the senses enhanced in her some are visual,some audio,others touch all have skills and tact involved because to learn when to use a gift and how are both important.I also suggest that until you do don't share with associates,they may exploit you through it.sometimes writing headline notes helps as well...if you are still and listen you will learn.
