The use of blood in Magic , Ritual or Rite Done NOT, I repeat does NOT make it black magic.

As stated above it is a for of sacrifice weather a small nick of your wrist and / or finger or a whole chicken.

AS for what the purpose is that really depends on what it is you are trying to achieve ..it verys depending upon its use from religion and magic form to another. Each would serve a different purpose and there for could not easily be broken down with out a more specific question ....

Blood Magic can range anywhere from Glamor spells to black magic, Most of my friends who use Blood Magic do it for Looks, Its more or less the changing of ones self...I believe that is what they where talking about.

It is a matter on how much you put into it. If you are convinced it will strengthen your spell, then it problebly will.

There are numerous ways of using blood in rites etc. But is it blood as a mere symbolism where you have a substitute fluid like wine, or is it blood, and from wheré, your finger, a goat or something completely different.

somtimes, using blood can be good in binding spells, but again, it is how hard you believe in it.

If you give your lifes blood for something then you would expect that what you give it for, understood enough about what you stood for. So yes, that was blood magicks, the greatest gift of your own life for something greater then yourself.

But that is lost on the majority of the likes that will read these words.

I've done blood bonds before with friends, and was thinking of doing it again during our collaring ceremony. It's more of way to show our love then anything else.

I grew up on a farm where we often raised our own food. this includes meat. Blood is a way of life. It is the life force that runs through all creatures and one of the things that connects us. Without blood running through our veins we cannot live. That said, blood is a very powerful tool in magic and/or sacrifice. If I sacrifice my own blood to my Gods, I am saying to them that they have a part of me and I am trusting them with that part. If I use sacrifice of another creature, I am giving those Gods or that spell that creatures life force. Could there be anything more powerful?

That post is directed at everyone posting in this thread. there are somethings which leave more then a stain on the carpet.

Blood magick, is one of them. You can tell those who work with blood magick, from those who don't in day to day work, you can tell who has done what with it. Its a signature it writes in the blood, and on the body because it ties the blood to those forces. Its not for the weak willed, or faithfully slavish people who dont make their faith strengthen their own resolves.

I whole heartedly agree with you.. It is worn on the sleeve of all who use it. But so are many other things.. Its all in how you use it as to how it follows you.

Honestly, blood magic, in my opinion, can be deadly to the user if it is not done carefully. I personally have never used it for that simple fact. I kind of like living a bit too much.

I don't practice blood magic, but what little I do is elemental magic with the use of candles and other representations of the four elements.

For some Wiccans, blood can be used as an ingredient in a Witche's Bottle. It is used as a protection spell for a house or other living space.

I use light magic. But I doo know that dark magic is harder to use. Sometimes it requires sacrafice/ blood.

I've never practiced blood magic either. I've done other things but I was not educated enough about it to understand it so I left it alone.

While it is true that blood added to SOME spells and potions makes it stronger, there is a whole branch of magic for blood magic. The trick is, that this doesn't always involve blood in the spells. They have your regular spells like healing and protection, banishmnet and punishmnet. But cast, chanting, invoking, inbibing and such does not always require blood but always has something to do with it. Hence the name.

There is a book that Jimmy Lee Shreeve wrote called Blood Rites (he writes non fiction books). This may go into some of the beliefs as for the vampyre, what was written previously sounds like beliefs of the Temple of the Vampire as not all believe in their beliefs which to some are very radical in nature., but to each his own.

People believe blood has powerful energy and symbolism so some choose to incorporate it in their magickal practices. Its just that in a nutshell and not all vampyres do that and some don't even practice magick or are nature worshippers and wouldn't use blood for that purpose. It really depends on the person and beliefs but blood play is an integral part of how some personify themselves as vampyrics but I think they are a minority. I see people talk about it on occasion but no one I know uses blood for their magickal practices. Some of these people are also into BDSM so their interests go to a different area than some others. I'm speaking generally because this isn't true for all...its a belief based thing.

I only used it once and I'm pretty sure that it just makes the spell stronger but other than that I'm not aware of any other effects.

Blood must be on the Sigil of the Divine God you are making atonement upon... it must be burnt in your magic circle so that the God may receive your sacrifice...

Magic circles for blood magic are not always the same... they must be made in the order of the spirits to be called... once it is complete it needs to be consecrated and blessed before you use the circle.

I have always just heard that it is to make whatever spell you are doing more powerful. I have also heard that it is just a more acceptable form of human sacrifice.

I know enough about blood magic to know that it is seriously bad juju. I've studied the subject extensively and advise any who think of using it to reconsider. Blood magic only causes pain and suffering in the end, to all involved. Now, before anyone refutes my claim, everything must take its course. Sooner or later, all blood magic comes full circle and everyone gets what is deserved. None can escape all the gods in the end, not even demons.

From what I can tell, blood magic is dangerous, especially to those who don't know how to do it properly. To my knowledge, I've never partaken in this kind of ritual, nor would I without extensive research and study. I must agree with a few others who have posted this before me on this thread; if you don't know how to do it, don't. Personally, I don't believe this is a topic for a general discussion forum. Anyone can answer, and anyone can read and try. I think this is a topic that should be personally directed at someone with extensive knowledge in this area.

In many threads, any cynic that is an unbeliever in blood magic, invocation, ritual ceremonies, ect... are calling other members role players, fakes, or stating: "Yea those who tell don't know... those who know don't tell", as if they are the only one who knows anything. My point is that those negative members are inhibiting other members from sharing information for fear of being ridiculed by a member that just doesn't believe. I thought the VR was made to share information not inhibiting the exchange of information.

Example: The raising of the dead. Chicken blood may be used to aid in the calling.

Or blood magic is simply a certain spell that calls for a sacrifice of blood or flesh.

Burned in spell potions, put into poppets, sachets, and also burned in incense and spells. You may also wish to put a few drops on a piece of toilet paper, let it dry, and put it under your mattress for love, lust, fertility, and sex purposes. In wet form it also has the element of water, and dried, the element of fire. So you should also incorporate these elements into whatever spell, or ritual you wish to use your moon blood in to give it even more power! As you can see, the uses for this precious fluid are VERY powerful, and can be used in any spell or ritual to give it a super boost of strength, and as I hope I've demonstrated, it's uses are only limited by your imagination.

There are a lot of rituals...In some cultures, women are considered extremely magical because of their monthly bleeding. (No saying "ew". C'mon...Grow up a little :P )

I have never used blood in any form to do magic or spells, though I do think that people, women, would do well to relax once a month and reconnect with themselves. No magic involved, but important to the soul anyway.

Well magick can be what you make it good or evil. I personally believe that blood magick is a very powerful magick i personally have not used it in this life time, although i know for sure that in a past life time i have used it. To this day i am still connected to the person i did the Blood Bond with. For some africans, they eat their dead to gain their life force and knowledge. For vampires, its survival and among some groups they will taste one anothers blood and then never drink from each other again as a sign of respect and discipline.

I have performed blood bonding rituals that occured with four people. We all sliced into our chest for the pain of a lost loved one and covered a cigarette with our blood. We then smoked the cigarette two puffs each around four times and the ritual was done. My draw towards blood has only gotten stronger since then.

Anyway, the blood of a magic worker puts the purity of their emotion into their spell... if your emotion is clouded but you know what you want exactly... like some with add... then blood will help the effect. Just remember that there is a cost to this action and that any object that your blood touches will have your essence of life flowing through it forever unless you know how to pull it back into yourself.

The most common I know of is blood bonding between two or more people. Many cultures have blood related rites of passage or “bonding” through blood rituals. It’s actually pretty common practice around the world.

Third blood is considered the source of life for all living beings. it is one of the most concentrated forms of energy. when you add blood you are spending a little bit of your life force (or whatever thing you got it from) to make the bonds of the spell, ritual, or whatever stronger...
