Multiple societies have been plagued with admiration and fear of gods. The common lore of adam and eve tells of an apple tree promising to become as and knowing as god. Never is it mentioned if it was all a bluff. The "sin" was commited and we are punished.
So, are we gods? Are there greater gods? Is witchcraft an act of god, and are they (god/s) only better at it? For the atheist: Have TRULY tried witchcraft? If nature is an ecosystem, then how are we gods, and why can't we WILL it to correct itself, pagans? What ever I'm missing please throw in and ask others. This is open.... let's wipe the table clean and start from scratch.
What do YOU have to say???
Well that's a question and a half lol
I would say at this time I think that humans are on the way to being 'Gods'....in training as it were.
As mini Gods we create beliefs that please us, based sometimes on fact and sometimes on fiction.
One mans truth is as they say another mans poison.
Ask and it shall be given > I would like to add that as a species I think we can 'will' things to happen, especially in the case of the endangered ecosystem.
We can do this by making the effort to understand what needs to change and through a concious act of will bringing that change about.
I totally agree with what Sinora says.
What one person believes to be work of a God/Goddess
could be to some one else nothing more than
a freak coincidence.
I believe that the gods were evolved humans with advanced abilities such as immortality and control over the elements. The inbreeding many of them were well known for is most likely what made them lose their abilities. Many of their descendants probably walk among us. Perhaps we are all their descendants.
That is an interesting thought Sinora. Besides greater mental abilities, modern technology gives us the ability to do things that were once thought of as god like. At the same time, used unwisely the technology allows us to act like devils.
So the gods of myth may well have been earth dwellers or extraterrestials that were mentally and technologically advanced beyond the societies that witnessed them. Like a chimp watching current humans, humans of the past may have watch "the gods".
I think it's all a matter of personal faith. Personally I believe there is only one God. As for the forbidden fruit Adam and Eve partook of, it was a deception by the serpent. I think it's more of a symbolism than an actual event. It portrays the original sin, human nature's fall from grace because of disobedience.
The apple portrays the sin on man and is for all our sins. As far as gods and goddess'es they are what u all individually believe in. No one really knows any of this exoists till we die
So, UpirLikhyj, you are saying that we, as race of humans, were part of the design of our physical universe?
One would then say that we at the time had abilities that have since left us. If we helped design our own physical universe, we must not have been physical in nature, but perhaps spiritual.
Gods are some guys wich are just sitting in their hideout, and regulating the lesser beings of existence, according to their own higher understanding of the universe.
By the way I agree as well with what Jarak had to say.
What or who is god? I think god is what eash human see as god. What you see as god dosent mean i see that as god.
I believe we can consider a god the one wich gained a total vision, total understanding about the world and the whole universe, and its laws, so he has reached the level of omnipotency, and became untouchable by any change, wich made him and his knowledge eternal, non affected by change.
I don't believe in any gods and I like it that way. I make my life how I want it to be. I don't need some imaginary being's authority.
ScorchedEarthErotica, it is not really necessary to believe in Gods, but certanly there are beings wichs understanding and knowledge is overpassing ours in unimaginable ways, and they are capable of unimaginable things.
I believe that deserves to be called a God.
I believe as well that that is a good answer to the original question posed.
Who are the gods???
Gods are beings with immense knowledge about the world wich we live in, about the universe, and its possibilities, so they can create and influence anything.

Yep... that's what I'm suggesting: that we may very well be both creator and creation. We are on an Eternal Quest of progression to both acquire knowledge and understanding as well as to create. In fact, when one considers both carefully, the connection between both becomes unavoidable: we create to acquire greater understanding and knowledge, and we use the greater knowledge and understanding we acquire as the engine that drives our creativity.
I'm simply trying as best I can to examine the evidences, the foundational motivations we all share, and extrapolating therefrom what can be logically induced and/or deduced therefrom.
I have no way of knowing if this theory has any validity, though it does answer so many questions that traditional religion and other belief systems do not... such as why "God" permits "evil," why bad things happen to good people, and why "God" doesn't seem to be easily found... etc. (the answers to all of these are the same: we are the ones who have "trailblazed" all of this as we had to if we were to continue our progression. In other words, there is no stereotypically rendered "God in the Sky" watching over us and directling everything. Instead, we are both the instigators and the "victims" of the freedoms we have within the Universal paradigms we created in which to learn and grow).
In other words... we, or others like us, were the "programmers" of this physical mortality and the perceivalbe physical universe in which we live it. We "programmed "(designed) it to permit the necessary FREE AGENCY of free choice that would be required for us to PROGRESS. We then entered therein and are learning and growing and creating within all the confines and limitations of our own current physicality, experiencing and reaping the consequences... both good and bad... of the choices we make.
And you have understood exactly the point that perhaps we came from a ... for lack of a better word ... spiritual form to add thereunto a physical form. Now we exist as a combination of both spiritual and physical. Perhaps after we pass on to the next level of consciousness, we shall put on an additional level of "form" we cannot as yet perceive with our extremely limited five senses within our extremely limited perception of only three physical dimensions.
In any event, that's what conclusions I have come to... thus far in life.
Thanks so much for your remarks on this and the clarifications you have added thereto!
The gods are who we need them to be when we need to believe in something that is stonger than we are at our week moments.
I agree with the previous poster.
I'd like to believe that everything is explainable by science and that the unexplained are byproducts of human energy.
I think that religions have been created to keep people in line so that they have something to turn to and believe in their moment of weaknesses. Too many questions are left unanswered because of religions.
That said, it is always comforting to believe in a higher power, it gives people hope.
no we are not gods and wicth craft can be good or bad depends on who is using it and for what
gods are what people think of any one with enough follower can be considered a good
A god is anyone or anything who's worshipped.
Dictionary definition:
god: 7. (lowercase) any deified person or object.
So, I think we're all gods, in that sense, because we all worship ourselves just a little.
A god is not only worshipped but praised for what he did for his people in history but also if someones belief is still praying to god then it is saids that he in spirit helps those in despair and those who are ill
I think Upir said it best, in short...I would like to think that we deem ourselves to be somewhat Demi God in nature until said validation has been comfirmed by which ever higher power deems fit to call us worthy of such charge. Whether it be on a psychological, physical, or spiritual level of awareness.
While there are still those that manage to urinate on toilet seats, our species is still a far cry from immortality and the like. In addition, we barely even use our brains to even a half of its full potential -- this makes me think that if we were working our way up the ladder then we would be at the zygote stage...
I believe that the Fallen ones and their immediate offspring were gods of old.
Everything is mirrored. The only real problem is that most people only see a few metaphorical reflections and think that their answer is the correct one.
To an extent they are right, because to them, this is what they see. However, if a principle, belief or idea is not correct 100% of the time, then ultimately it is wrong, and therefore foolish.
No matter what label is placed upon a spiritual entity, it is just that: A label. Something for lesser beings to understand. Unfortunately, this almost always leads to childish conflict and confrontation because nobody sees something the same way, no matter how similar they may be physically or spiritually.
In the end, everything is controlled, even a creator, much like its creations. If the subordinates no longer follow or believe, the creator does not die, it simply ceases to be seen. Again, conflict remains as the "free range" former subjugates will undoubtedly quarrel with each other over who is in control.
If you don't believe me, look around you. What do you see? Mirror, labels, stagnation and evolution.
With everything being mirrored, most would say that it has to end somewhere. This is not the case. Think of all of the spectrums of the realities that are seen and unseen as a self-existing relationship of total control. In a state of rest, everything stagnates and nothing is achieved.
However, like this reality, no two mirrors are identical. Just like waves and ripples of the water when a stone is thrown into it. Each action we take has an effect that we may or may not initially see or even begin to comprehend. This is why it's important to bet against yourself being wrong, because if you don't, you have everything to lose and nothing to gain. Without order, there is no chaos, and without chaos, order is nonexistent. From there, we start back at the beginning.
From my standpoint, I don't plan on staying for The Final Redux, as I wasn't technically here for the start of it. There are other places I have to be and things I have to do: I merely set events in motion, pass the torch when needed, abandon everything that I've done, and start over somewhere else, constantly in a state of self-induced perpetual training and self-existence.
I am.
The old gods (figure of speech) were gods that ppl believed in they were not real ppl or things but something that ppl prayed to. Now adays anyone can be a god (or think they can). A true god is not something that can bleed or breath in real life.
There's so much to try and understand about a world we cannot see, Where do you start?
First off, i believe that the bible is a corrupt document (Its been changed over and over again thoughout the year's, not to mention, bits being cut out of it)
And seeing as i have never read into anyother religious book, i guess i cant really comment.
Do i beleive humans are Gods?
I suppose that would depend on your deffinition of god. And, telling from my deffinition i would say no.
I'm more inclined to say that the world we live in now is a test to see how pure souled we are.
We cannot perform miracle's, but alot of the time we are faced with a choice to avoid harm.
I suppose the purpose of a god is to overlook and govern, as human's we interfier way to much.
Great thread btw :)
FacelessUnknown: I think that miracles are performed every single day on earth :) Women give birth, that's a miracle in itself. People survive earthquakes after staying days under rubble, that's another miracle.
I think that we shouldn't expect miracles from whoever or whatever is up there, humans have the incredible ability to perform miracles every single day.
the gods used in ancient times such as the greek and roman gods were used to explain why things happened. They were unable to explain why hurricanes happend or sumthing like that, so they would say they hav angered poseidon, same with lightning storms and zeus and etc... i believe that we are all God and hear me out.. if God created everything out of his divine essence, and he created us out of the essence, then we are God. if u cut down a tree to make a desk, the desk is still the wood from the tree, so it is still the tree. i believe our inner-core is god, and we are all manifestations of the divine essence.
To DWP, virtuous, and healer: All three of you are correct.
I have often thought that perhaps we were created by another sentient being from beyond our reachable space. Who is to say that we are not seedlings to a new society that one much older than we are desperately depending upon to rebuild their crumbling home...we simply have not reached maturity yet? Perhaps that would also explain "UFOs" or even ghosts??? Perhaps that is the form in which they appear to us while "tending their crop"???
Ponder...
As an atheist, I perceive "god" or "gods" as figments of the human mind trying to console that emptiness or confusion within the self. A concept embraced to give meaning to his/her life.
And thus, why one must become a God by his or her own right. Salvation is given from others. Redemption comes from within.
It depends entirely on your personal perspective. I don't consider anyone to be a god, or anyone to have been a god. I do think that many of the stories about Greek and Roman gods were well told, but they were clearly born out of peoples lack of understanding.
As with most myths it's about the perception that people have of others
~hardk0re~, I take the same notion toward that ideal, and yet I am definitivelly no atheist. Polytheist is my belief system. Though I do not look to the "gods" as "gods", more like family. You cannot worship family.
Though they are a behavioral pattern of said psychosis, the gratification is satisfying sure enough to most in society, which is why things are the way they are in most cases.
The old saying of "gotta blame somebody", might as well blame it on something that cannot be seen.
Until the notion of dieties has been proven to many throughout the world, atheist will always be a valid arguement. Such as an appearance by any deity in the corporeal sense, would justify why religion exists in the first place. Otherwise, faith is both lacking as well as getting apparently "burnt out" within again, many throughout society.
Gods are a figment of ones imagination... look at the quote: "Man was made in the image of god, God was made in the image of man" The Black Arts...
The only god is that which you dream into existance, and over enough amount of time more people will believe in this entity and finally through all your collective wishing and dreaming you will breed a new dream upon humanity...
there is no god... there is no devil... just the dream you make them real in
I don't believe there are any gods.
To me, people made them up to explain the creation of the universe and all the happens around them.
To my understanding everyone has the potentail to become gods or godesses in time.
I think it's safe to say that whatever someone believes to make them get through the day is worth respecting. Be it that you want to believe that you're a God or you believe in someone elses God, it's all good.
The whole religious thing is one big contradictory lie after another. I personally don't put any faith in it.
Heh, reminds me of our government. O_o`
There are no "Gods", only ideas of unexplained events that we fail to understand at this point and time. With time comes understanding through trial and error. We only know what we have failed enough times to understand the consequence of that action.
Who are the gods?I feel everyone holds the belief in some superpower. What that is exactly I don't know.At times in my life I believed in a God.But now its so confusing .
People like being able to beleive in something. . . knowing that there is something greater than us looking out for us and that there is something after death. . . fear drives all
as I explained in my last post:
There are no gods, no deities... only beliefs that comfort humans
though it is also accurate to say that when the masses believe the same general ideal it would become their truth
That is very true DarkArmy, fear makes us do things that we never thought were possible.
Well we have to sort of go back to our roots of how we picture how it was for mankind in the very beginning stages. We probably worshipped anything that seemed "out of the ordinary". So say, a man that just happened to be smarter, or stronger, faster, etc etc was probably deemed "god-like". Some viewed Alexander the Great as a God because he was really great at dominating the countries/lands around him. Perhaps Gods/Goddesses were formed because our ancestry felt that we "owe" our blessings from some kind of higher power. Perhaps when the questions started to form.."how did we get here?" So worshipping of something whether it be objects or the spiritual, there was a reason behind what someone chose to do, and thus the idea, the theories, or the personal experiences were passed down and taught to others and viola' you have what we have today because of it. That's my own personal theory of how a God or Goddess could have been formed.
I think that it may depend on what relign you belive in on what God you believe and if you do infact believe in a relign hasnt the "God" and its belief been around since Adam and Eve and the Eyptians
Trying to define "gods" is tricky..what culture are you looking at?
I think the term God or Goddess is defining a divine spirit of Creation or of Destruction having the ability to change what is around them with a great power. If we are small entities that are able to do the same things then it would make sense to assume we got our abilities from something bigger that possibly has shared a part of themselves to us. Afterall, we do have the power to change things around us if we will them to, or want them to bad enough. We can create, or destory. It's really just about the path one wishes to take or how one wishes to use such ablities that make them who they are. So in my mindset....we ARE gods....just maybe the size of a Burger King Junior Burger. O.o
I don't believe in Gods or Goddesses etc...
Everyone is their own god and can decide what happens to themselves in life by the choices they make.
If there were gods out there who made the decisions for us then life would be so boring!
I do believe that there is a higher power, and all existence is a part of this higher power. The different gods and goddesses, I feel, are just ways that the higher power manifests itself to help us comprehend it. I think since we are limited in this physical form, the higher power chooses different aspects to connect with our consciousness. Since the higher power is part of us, we are all divine. We are linked to one another and the divine through our higher consciousness.
To me, magick is working with energies, objects, and vibrations to bend reality according to your Will. Magick is a way to work with the Law of Attraction.
I believe that humanity can indeed will nature to correct and heal itself. But, that would probably involve humanity first moving towards a new level of awareness, or consciousness. I think that everything is interconnected by the higher power, which is really a divine inner essence. If humanity were to awaken to its true divine inner essence, and set aside the ego (the mind), measures would then be taken to heal the natural world.
It is very difficult to put the divine into words. I feel like if I make any attempt to speak about the divine, it would just be my ego talking. But, these are just my thoughts, and everyone comes from a different paradigm and perspective.
I like to entertain the thought were gods having an human experience, I find that explains a lot lol
Mind you as mentioned witchcraft is taking power in your own hands and those who wish to control the mass only fear and strive to mock refute and blame occult persons as a problem.
Also the big question is what is a god? Something that we feel made everything as we lack the imagination to understand creation?
The gods that people fear were created by man, to control us mentally and subliminally. That there is constant watch over us by a big eye in the sky, that tracks our every movement. The only god that does exist, exists within us! The power and will to choose to do what is called good and what is deemed evil. Evil is good and good is evil. The original angels were monstrous in appearance and were called gargoyles. That's why they are still on top of many catholic churches!
We originally had 9 senses. 4 of which were taken away. However, it still lies within us we would just have to unlock them. And you have start by learning the real truth about the deceptive practices and false religions such as Christianity. Hope not to offend anyone. Just laying the cards out on the table.
and what would these 4 "hidden" senses be? please explain.
We are not gods persay as to the meaning, but we are the image of GOD's likeness without god powers.
I don't think that there is any deity of sorts out there. The closest thing I would consider a "god" in my eyes would be Karma.
I believe wholeheartedly in the Christian God, not only because I follow the Bible’s teachings, but also scientific studies suggest that there had to be a God of one form or another to create life.
There was a merry time in history (1700’s) where scientists thought life had magically—I mean, ahem, spontaneously—arose from dead matter. Like, who knows, sewage. Or molten goo. Take your pick. That ended in the 1800’s, when Louis Pasteur proved through a series of experimentation that life only comes from preexisting life. (Dogs equals puppies that will later equal more puppies.) Unfortunately, many "scientists" today happened to have forgotten that.
This is partially based on an experiment by Stanley Miller, who basically sent a few electric sparks into a collection of common gases—nitrogen, oxygen, etc.—that would prove that life “built itself”. He hoped to at least form a couple DNA chains. What did he get? Not cells, not DNA, not even a few proteins. Just a couple strands of amino acids. Of course, this just PROVED that life crawled out of the muck on its own.
A cell itself is incredibly complex: it knows how to detect malfunctions, repairs itself, and reproduces to form new cells. And why not? A single cell has BILLIONS of complicated codes running its self-made factory. Nothing man has ever created can even compete with this marvelous little thing. The theories evolutionists use today—similar to Miller’s—of how life came to be (random atoms dancing in the air equaling complex single-celled life) is like trying to say that if you tossed a bag of cement and sand and wood and such on a parking lot, it would instantly form a skyscraper. No handling required.
There’s another little unspoken mistake with Miller’s experiment: the oxygen/ozone layer debate. Our early atmosphere was assumed to have no oxygen because this would stop amino acid formation. However, with no oxygen, there would be no ozone shield. With no ozone shield, life would also be impossible. Furthermore, oxidized rocks throughout the geologic record indicate that oxygen has always been present.
So far, there are two possible theories in which life could have come about: a Creator or random chance. As “life comes only from preexisting life”, I believe he source of all life came from God.
But that’s just my opinion.
Well I don't believe in coincidences, I believe that it's all meant to be, and from that comes lessons, and spiritual/personal growth.
The greeks, egyptions, and many cultures beleived in many differant gods, all representing and controling differant aspects of life and death, and even the elements.
I think Gods evolve because people need direction in regards to life and spiritual matters. We once were extremely primative and when lightening struck a bush and it burst into flame and it helped us discover fire... the primative man decided someone special had to have given the gift to them. When all the saw was a natural occurance.
As the mind evolved the gods and goddesses evolved and become more complex and less primative. Most cultures had a god for every little aspect of life.
Then as cultures matured and grew the aspect of God started to meld and blend into the one.
My point being that as we evolve on a mental and cultural level we develop new beliefs. We are not entering a society that is questioning whether there is a god at all...
I personally think Gods, are a universal energy. An over mind so to speak that we are all part of and connected to. And I believe as time rolls forward we will have new beliefs as the veil between the universal energy and our selves lifts more and more.
So, what you're saying is god will change with us, to suit our needs. As we change. A god that lacks independence. A manifestation. -A god fueled as the image of the masses is a weak, pathetic god if you ask me. Not even godly, but merely an ideal. If a god resembles anything to the likeness of the majority out there, then that is scary. I should slit my wrist now, LOL.
Although I do partially agree with the concept as the power of prayer being like witchcraft. Religion acts like a focal point to which energy is focused towards. Like a celestial magnifying glass (-now that's dumming it down!)
And as for me spcifying on any single religion... I wanted this broad and non-specific. To encourage all walks of life. Too many gods out there to single out... Seeking the beliefs and where they stand..... and where we stand in this.
(let's continue)
I don't believe we are gods but I'm sure someday in the very distant future we could evolve into a different state of being and be perceived as god like. I'm sure there are humans that have already achieved this and we call them by the names of the different gods that exist through out religions today.
Evolving gods is an interesting thought. We do see changes in the religions over time. It may well be our understanding of the god or perhaps even our understanding of our selves and our relationships with the gods.
ATHEIST: you are respectable.
Evolutionary gods theorists: Are you appealing to a 2001 ideal (the relation is towards the movie... for those whoi know)
there is no gods. just a figment of someones imagination
As a Christian there is only one and true God.
But I will not judge someone in their beliefs.
I see us as our own Gods and forses out there that we can controll , through magick .
It's difficult to say who the Gods/Goddesses really are. I think it's possible that (in my opinion) long ago these figures were people like you and I who stood out in the public eye for some character trait or skill they possessed and when they had passed on were remembered for those traits by being classified as Gods. Similar to modern times where a person who creates a certain style or invention is considered a forefather of that design.
Of course this is just a thought or opinion of who the old Gods were... Who can know for sure?
No we as humans are not gods, we have to many prejudices against other people and we are too selfish , and demanding , we only think of ourselves when we should think of our fellow human beings , A God is divine in wisdom and self he does not judge but guides with wisdom and trust and love the people of this world know of no such thing.
Some say the Gods were actually aliens who visited our planet in the beginning of the mankind... The drawings from Altamira or Lascaux are very evocative...
Some say the Gods were actually what people created in the necesity to explain the unknown of their times (rain, wind, fire, storm, lightning, even life and birth itself).
For me, in a more comprehensive way, God is nature itself... the Universe... the energy that connects us all, living or non-living matter...
If you have faith as tiny as a mustard seed you can then say rise to the mountain and the mountain will rise.
Perhaps we all have the potential for tapping into our creative God powers. It doesn't mean we will. Nor does it mean that one can dance naked around a symbol and invoke Cutluth to smite one's enemies.
Have you tried it? I mean: to evoke Culthulu? Or are you a never believed it to begin with, so thus I find no truth in it, minded person???
So if there are no gods than what IS the point to stay? Entertainment??? Relations and the sort?
IMHO, gods are a figment of the human imagination.
"We" needed some way to give a different purpose to "our" lives. A way to claim ignorance on some levels.
"God(s)" don't exist in the way that most people see it.
As for 'us' being gods, maybe some day we might reach a point where we become more than we are, but will that really make us god(s)?
i belive their are many gods we can be close to being gods and depending on your beliefs depends what gods u worship
I think it is immpossibel to answer unless the cultural piece is first defined
People need religon to give them hope, peace and a comfort with their time of passing. It also helps relieve, knowing that we are no alone evan when it seems everyone has left us.
I totally agree with what Sinora says.
What one person believes to be work of a God/Goddess
could be to some one else nothing more than
a freak coincidence.
It do believe it's based on everyone’s personal beliefs, for none have had the opportunity to meet a God. I take comfort in believing there is a God watching over us and would feel very empty if I didn’t believe that, but as usual I don’t judge anyone for their beliefs or views, and welcome all input.
well my belief is that gods and goddesses are the ones who created this whole world .its called shrishti. the whole universe is created by "brahma" , vishnu", and "mahesh".we are just here to make this world a better place and to make it beautiful. if we try to destroy this amaging thing created by god its called a "sin" and we are punished accordingly.
I believe there is a god or goddess for every living thing.. humans, trees, wind , fire earth, air, ect..
I have no fear of my patron god. I believe that they are there to lead the way, and help out when they can in certain aspects of ritual. My religion is the act of my god to be closer to her, and be like her.
For the most part I think that we only can perfect out own paths in our religion, not our god!
Gods are our ultimate expression of fear of the unknown; in the end, they explain what cannot be explained yet and, in a more... mistical way, they are our anchors into the future, offering the support for hope and dreams of a better future.
But if you want to find some real gods, look around you and into a mirror: there are the real gods! Humankind... Unfortunatelly, most of us are bad gods, because they can think only if destruction and chaos... But, there are some good ones too like: Newton, DaVinci, Edison, Einstein, A.C. Clarke, Asimov, Senna, Nadia Comaneci... and the list continues...
These people proved that they can attain the impossible... or isn't that what we look in a god?
I would say, my "God" is the Goddess Diana.
I happen to be Wiccan.
On the theory that we are gods: Should it be true then we'd have no control over each other because in a grand sense, we are all equal. And as for the environment, we cannot manipulate it because we are inside of it. it is easy to change something once removed from it, so maybe it is not us that change but those beyond the veil? Or perhaps we alter another reality and they alter ours?
i believe that there is 1 god and that is it,although some done believe in him,i do :)
Of course we cannot simply "will" the ecosystem better!
However, we can teach others things that can be done to help save the ecosystem. I also donnot think we (as witches) ci=onsider ourselfves to be Gods - but rather given tools by them to help make the world a better place. Unfortunately we cannot globally will others to act a certain way - people were given free will and will use it.
'Ere's a question-What is a 'God'? An' what defines a 'God' higher than anot'er man? The Egyptians b'lieved that their Pharoah was a God, yet 'n fact he/she was nothin' more than anot'er mortal. I b'lieve the 'Gods an' Goddesses' were created for people who 'ad no one t' turn to, no one t' guide them or help them through Life's great challenges.
I think the idea of gods is a nice daydream, but I think the primal powers that be are less humanistic than humans would like to think. I think humans as a race are just mere animals with aspirations... perhaps delusions of grandeur. Once might go as far as calling humans a parasite feeding off of the earth, but giving no benefit back.
Well being that there are so mnay different types of religious beliefs there for there are many different beliefs in what one believes their God or Goddess to be, that is why we do have freedom of religion ( laughs) as some of know it is not free but as it is stated some say that anything that is worshed can be a God. I had a teacher once tell me that there is only one God and that there is no such things as a Goddess abd he put me on the Spot in front of the whole class. and he asked well why is it that you believe in what you believe. I simplly just asnwered that it is my right to worship whom I wish to worship, they have been countless documents on Egyptian Goddess dated back years and years. and I asked him what proof to you have that you God is the only God? there is nothing stating that there is only one God, if that were true that why is that in every single different country throught tthe world there are paiting and documents of other Gods? He didn't have and answer and walked out of the room. So i mean I guess it is just what you want to believe it is what in in your heart and soul to believe.
Exactly, people are able t' b'lieve what they want an' they will. I've known a person who worships a rag doll, there is no symbol or God that inspires him t' do so, he just finds it sacred, like a child wit' a special blanket, you take the blanket away he/she throws a fit an' wont d' anythin' till he/she gets it back.
I don't believe there are gods persay, not in the mythical Roman/Greek sense.
I do believe in higher powers of god and evill, I don't know if one could call them gods.
I think people have to prove themselves to be gods just like they have to to become saints.
