I have never found any manuscripts or documents on the virginity of a vampire being sacred. however being mortal and being virgin is considered to be a big thing and a very pure thing. has anyone got a comment on this matter?
Thank you. it popped in my head as a dream kind of thought. i would like to see where people go with this as well
chastiy is based on religions and gods that are being less and less persued. It is a dying thing, a thing of the old ways. Perhaps not for the better but chastity is taught by the older generations, not the younger. As to vampires, they are human too you know. they are bound by laws, wrong perhaps, but laws and rules nonetheless.
This has to do with One's own beliefs...It can be looked at as a sign of purity or not depending on One's own Path...
I agree.
Has nothing to do with one's path.
It was just a way to up the price on someone.
The virginity of a vampire is not of special importance these days because we are looked upon as being vile anyway by the mainstream.... But to me there's nothing special about a "regular" human virgin either.
Yeah it really has to do on ones believe in the matter.....to me if one chooses to be a virgin until marriage that is their perogative and no other should judge them for that decision.....it really depends on the person.
Modern vampire lore focuses a lot on seduction....to draw its prey in for feeding and to consume itself with it's victim's lustful passions. Chastity then becomes relegated to a dim memory once possessed while still human.
This has been an interesting read. I may have to give this one some deep thought
Well, pretty much everythings been said now...
I wonder... do Vampires prey on virgins, and after that they indulge themselves in an orgy of feeding and lust? At least in the movies, that's the impression I get from several filmmakers...
I don't see this it has anything to do with vampires.
It's all your decision to be a virgin or not.
I admire virgins cause they're rare.
a person who is "chaste", here meaning that he or she hasnt had sexual intercourse is energetically different from one who has, it isnt so much a moral idea than a real and factual one, it is an energetic memory of the body, and sex is the most intimate and transformational energy activity of the body, at all levels
hence perhaps the insistence on virgins for various rituals
also chastity is a principle that extends way beyong physical celibacy into the mind and emotions, where sex actually resides, infact one who is physically celibate and not so in the mind, would then be the most ill of individuals, the will and personality of such a one slowly becoming distorted and due to the sexual energy being very much raw and unsublimated, but not expressed gives rise to various neuroses,
as the raw nature of all energy is sexual in nature, denying sexuality is tantamount to denying life and the process of growth and creativity
Nietzche says something to the effect
the truly pure and chaste through and through say,' chastity came uninvited to us, and prefered to remain with us, let it remain for as long as it wants to
also there is the matter about vampire sexuality which doesnt need to actual physical contact or even proximity for that matter
there is also the matter about dream visitations, by vampiric or other ethereal and astral entities
chastity then it appears is a state of mind and being that has sublimated its raw energies rather than a repression or denial of sexuality
in fact a truly chaste nature is in the stream of life and the creative matrix at another level, perhaps a higher vibration, an identification with the rarer, and finer elements.
some traits then , of the chaste would be the absence of guilt, shame and fear to a great extent, as the basis of these emotions is at its root about denied and repressed sexual energy, whether sexuality or, money, or food, or material and social security, as they are just manifestation of the sexual principle , the creative and grounding principle
also a more relaxed and connected approach to life and the uiniverse, as the energies are more in tune with the universal streams
I admire someone who can remain virgin till its mariage, it is such a rare streingh to be able to do it, but since vampire represente seduction and envy, romance and desire in most of the imagination of people it would most impossible that one could be virgin.
well that is a difrent yet nice read you posted there
shinedemongod
thanks for the info.
thanks for the read and all the posts people put i leard alot form this read thank you
also vampire in my understanding is about going beyond the physical, the material, a stage if you will in evolution, moving more and more towards energy
it has already begun with the denial of physical food and adaptation to raw energy , either blood or prana
vampire is a stage, a step , a channel and route
also sex is about feeding, the basis of existence, and in the case of the vampire particularly so as he/she feeds directly on energy, either through the physical life essence or through a touch, a kiss, a breath,
a though and emotion , when a link is particularly strong or well formed
chastity then interestingly amounts to fasting
the going without external nourishment
all sense organs, and organs of action are mouths, are inlets for energy , this is the basis of ambient feeding, atmospheric feeding, feeding on scents, etc all of which are integral to the sexual drama and dance,
one eats and consumes a lover with all of ones senses and organs of action
even subtly with the astral , one is still feeding with ones tendrils
sex and food are one and the same, this awareness comes easier to the vampire and other beings that are more self identified with energy than material
sex and food are one and the same ???
as in my life-so...
both very held up high ,but very sweet ,and powerful..
I think in this modern age, that virginity isn't held as precious as it used to be. I know someone who is ashamed that he is a virgin, and is almost willing to pay to be rid of it. As for virginity in humans, I think if you were a virgin when you awakened, then you should hold onto that until you meet the one you love. Some of us didn't get that opportunity.
Virginity is now more of a medical term, helping in classifying and differencing some diseses or medical conditions; chastity is now only a matter of religious history and is only perpetuated in some religious communities...also there is a direct correlation between virginity before the marriage and the rate of divorces based on incompatibility.
Virginity at vampires... I don`t think that exists! From the firs taste of blood or from the first drop of energy taken or given, the purity concept dissapears, the pleasure and the need make the term 2virgin2 obsolete!
Body wise I am chaste, as for the others well....lets just say it is a very bad mind to waste.......I am 20 and a virgin, but I choose to be no teachings, the only reason really is that I watched my uncle passaway from aids and I promised him before he died I would stay a virgin and not have sex till marrige. every one has a good reason to stay a virgin if they would like to
like everyone has said before..it depends on how much someone prizes their virginity and what they have planned for it. i dont think it all has to do religion because people get caught up in the moment, feel they are in love, or just get manipulated into it.
A promise is a promise and should always be respected...
i think it would be hard for most vampires to stay chast and we are such passionate beings
I agree with everyone that it is your own beliefs. I also think it depends on your definition of Virgin. I did everything but with sereval flings in high school but have only had sexual intercourse with my husband. But many would think me as not a vergin since I part took in oral sex. I think a virgin in any culture or race, such as vampires, are a rarity and therefore somehow a little more beautiful in spirit. they know what is and isn't right for them and respect themselves higher than the most beings in modern day society.
Very nice responses and interesting views and I agree with them, especially what shinedemongod has had to say on this matter.
Personally no matter what sex and virginity has lost it's sacred meanings in a lot of ways.... Ever since the over production of selling sex over media it just seems like something to do instead of what those in the past seeing it as something so sacred that it must be watched over until someone diserving can take it..... But that is MAJORITY, not everyone thinks that way and I am one of those that is not apart of majority......
~Shadowmemory~
Thank you everyone who has posted a response here. a thought came to my mind while reading this though. if a Chaste (virgin) human (most likely woman) is so very special is sacrificial ceremonies. what would it be like to sacrifice a chaste vampire. would it be just as much as a gift to the gods. such a pure yet unpure sacrifice.
Though i do say i wasnt thinking about the lustfull imagery that a vampire portrays when i made this and i appologize to those who think this was a waste of time. i just thought the concept was fascinating.
I believe that your main question here is up to one's own beliefs. It depends on what you as a person practices.
i dunno, it is based on a religous belief, but im a virgin bc one-i ahve no time to go out and have sex two-i dont want AIDS and three-coudlnt think of who with
Everyone has a diffrent view on the matter you just have to know what is right for you......I am a lustful being despite being a virgin........but I have manage to put my body before my heart....besides if a guy tried to take advantage of me I would show him a thing or two.........
I'd prefer to be chaste, but I'm a very passionate being, and for it couldn't be helped, really.
I'd like to be celebate for a good while, but as of late no dice. I've been trying to heighten myself as it were, and sexual intercourse leads to a grounding effect.
i think its what ever you want to believe. thats all i have on that...sorry.
Its all about what you as an indviduale believe. if you find it sacred, so be it.
You can still be pure without being a Virgin, yet being a Virgin means your pure of body. Yet defiled by the hands of, whoever.
- Sin
Have never heard anything about Vampir Virginity being sacred. Interesting idea though.
the words vampire and chastity are totaly different. chastity it has to do with religion word and vampire..... well they're not religious, so you do the math
I'm not quite sure anyone else has said this yet. But if that have please forgive me some of the recent post were good but hard to follow.
I Think that chasity can be associated with modern vampires in a way. Reason I say this if you apply teh belief of never being touched by someone sexually to vampirisim. Then you coud have chasity in this practice. With elements of never being fed from as a doner or your first time feeding from another. Personally I don't want someone that has been drawed from and milked like a prize dairy cow. *sorry for the crudness*. But I guess in everything it still comes from safe practicing. Well theres my response in a nutshell. Heh sorry if I kind of strayed from the topic.
ShineDemonGod- I genuinely feel that the vampire has always been an archetype of the more purely physical. The mythology has long been about those bodies without souls...or spirits trapped in the physical world. It would be hard for me to reconcile that archetype with the idea of an enlightened soul or higher plane.
In the literary sense, vampires represent the ultimate in physical thirst. Thirst of a sexual nature, a violent nature as well as the thirst to live forever in the physical plane and not cross to another. In that respect, a chaste vampire smacks of an anti-hero...One perhaps like "Louis" who neither desired nor enjoyed his state as a vampire.
Good point! Anyway, chastity is nowdays just a state of mind and, in a more exotic view, a choice of life! In order to talk about "vampire chastity" you have to define what "chastity" means to a vampire...if you reffer at it strictly from the sexual point of view, then, like Lestat86 said, it will become something that you`ll read only in history or pediatric books...
"Vampire chastity" has to be treated at another level...
ahriman- I don't think chastity is gone...but I don't see how any form of chastity relates to a vampire unless that vampire is trying to be what it's not. There will always be those that value chastity (be it sexual or other in nature). The idea that something is important to keep pure isn't going extinct so much as the divisions between those that feel this way and those that don't, are becoming more clearly drawn lines in the sand.
Chastity has to do more with what beliefs you hold dear; be it religious or personal. It depends on who you ask.
I don't believe Vampires care about chastity... unless it was a girl with that name. lol No, it's just some cultures in the human realm that care, because they are misguided that it has some significant or important meaning. Some movies have played on that myth and I feel it has not helped the vampiric stereotype any.
again it all comes down to if you chose to be one or not
An interesting idea. Chastity usually only matters because of religion or love. Many lovers find the thought of their object of affection being untouched to be wonderful. However, it's all up to personal beliefs and ideas. Personally, I hated being a virgin, because my mind was anything but pure.
it all has to do with religion and if u choose to follow that
It is a personal choice one makes based on what they were taught growing up. Not that it always works out that way.
Wow. Vampiric virginity!? RIGHT! I`m sorry, but that`s just too funny!
Eroticism is part of the draw of the vampire for most but chastity can work in as well.
felixfelix
the vampire i was referring to wasnt the mythological and archetypal vampire , but what is termed as HLV or human living vampires, the real living breathing prana feeders, in human bodies, who have been astrally modified, there is a text called the vampire codex, that will make you more familiar with the idea and concepts that are related to this reality, if you are so inclined.
i speak of the real living factual vampires like many on this site, not the mythical beings and demons that literature and folk legends are littered with
yes on the matter of the fictional vampire you are perhaps correct in that the vampire is a matter bound demon, yet even in that context , demons by their very nature are spirit creatures, ethereal entities that crave for bodies to manifest in, to feed from, in short to experience,
of spirit yet eternally craving the matter from whence they have been banished, yes perhaps that holds water.
i dont think it means much as a vampire but as mortal...society puts to much of a big deal of sex in general
I'm not exactly sure all I know is that they do not persue it as much and it is the old ways. Other than that I'm not sure.
enjoy the flirtation and the seduction of the vampire,
but whether you are a virgin or not shouldnt matter, to anyone but yourself
I believe in a woman's right to Thigh Freedom. I do not think it is wrong, because it's your choice, not anyone else's.

many times, people confuse sacred with acceptable.
~~~those who fall to the image of what theythink hey must be, fall prey to the fate of humanity, that is they must end.
its all based on what u wanna do really nothing more bout it...
i dont really see it connected to vampires at all.
i think its a religious choice as well as a personal one.
i mean you can be religious and still decide against it and then there are people who do it just because they feel they should, religious beliefs or not.
part of it results from how you were raised but there are people out there that weren't exactly told how to live and they still decide to be that way.
so.. religious and personal reasons are what it comes down to
I don't think very much other than the coven would be sacred to vampyres.
Just my two cents. feel free to correct me if I am wrong.
in stories, and in the books vampires are more interested in finding a virgin than being one. i think that's because in the stories vampires aren't good creatures, and being a virgin, being pure, is supposed to be a good thing. a step towards godleness...
anything and everything that I've ever read or re-seached the vampire is the last thing to be called a virgin. But I understand what your saying. Its two very different ideas. It depends on what you believe in I guess.
I think its however you want it to be,if its the same for mortals then why cant it be the same for a vampire who so wishes for it to still remain special to them,or atleast thats what I think,alot of people have there own opinions about it as I see,lol...
I suppose it is relative to the individual's 'humanity' ... a more.... predatory vampire may not have such purity, virgin or no, then one which believes in some shred of morality
I'd have to say it all has to do with someone's beliefs, I mean if they don't care about that sort of thing then I guess it doesn't matter but if they have strong belief in the purity and whatnot of it, then it holds meaning.
"An unbled and untouched pure blood, one born to the night, is with out equal in its preciousness"
cool quote! But who ever heard of a Vampire being a virgin?!
actually in Anne rice's interview of a vampire a child vampire was writen of ;) Claudia. She was a virgin character. I always loved the part where she hid the body of a woman under her bedclothes and dolls. Wanting to be a woman trapped in a childs body. Hauntingly beautiful.
Wonderful quote btw
after i left this thread i thought about it a lot more. ... ... i think that being a vampire and being a virgin would be terribly..
everything i've heard about vampires means they are very sensual sexual beings. ... and if you're talking the old fashion dead vampires..... well then things grow back when destroyed.. hair and such...
one would think the cherry too would reapear.... imagine losing your virginity every night?
Vampire women in Hollywood have always been portrayed as a seductress, therefore never could one believe that chastity is a very important role in the female vampires of the movies.
When I think of true vampirism, i dont look to the theatres or hollywood for my inspiration. People who practice vampirism in the real world are human as well and its up to the individual and their religious belief or a certain path they choose to follow. To say that one person or one religion follows a simple set of guidelines 100% is like declaring one self a god and asking the rest of the world to bow down before them. Its not going to happen.
There is nothing any more special about a vampire being a virgin than a person being a virgin. The pure and the sacred is the love that two people share together. Of course this is only true if the two people are really in love.
It's an interesting thought... Chastity wasn't originally a religious idea however, it was an idea promoted by Patriarchal societies...
... the idea of chastity wasn't promoted really in a religous sense for both sex's until Paul went on a big kick in the Christian bible about it. I suppose you could harken it back to the Vestel Virgins in mythology but even that was sort of a isolated incident. In fact prostitution, the oldest profession on earth, didn't start as a profession... it was actually a religous activity in it's early years. Priestesses were the original prostitutes... having sex with worshipers for donations, given to the temple.
Ok, long story short... if the idea of Chastity being such a great commodity in the spiritual sense did not come around until aprox. 2000 yrs. ago then why should it apply to Vampires or humans, who have undoubtedly been around longer than a mere idea?
This came out of a very close friends mothers mouth:
"Do virgins even exist anymore"
There is no difference between a vampire who is a virgin or a human who is a virgin. It all depends on your personal beliefs and choices.
It really doesn't matter as long as you're
happy with your choices
One's chasity is purely a personal decision. I see no great difference between a mortal virgin and a vampiric one...but I could be wrong
