Good point indeed Wolvie. I think that blood taking is a way of providing energy to the Sang and can also be a very sensual bonding between the Sang and the donor.

I would say that the blood that's taken brings also the energy with it from that person.
Some may be influenced more and some less.
But perhaps if you are not "aware" or haven't told to yourself that it brings energy, then it wouldn't bring anything, except to satisfy the reason why you drink it.

I can only tell you what it dose for me, after "feeding" on a small amount of blood *nothing like you see in the movies* I feel a sort of energy rush come over me, I think this is mainly just in my head and not due to any real "power" that comes from the blood itself.

I think the effect is whatever you want it to be when you drink from another. if you want to get a rush from it you will, and if you want to feel closer with your donor you will.

As for the sensual effect of it, of course there will be one, after all you are taking something that only they can give you in a way that no-one else does.

It can be risky I'll grant you that but not really more so than unprotected sex and people do that every day. Not all modern vampire societies forbid blood letting there are many that don't. Testing of your donor is very important just like with a sex partner. It is best if you stay with one donor if at all possible. Even then you should still have your donor regularly tested for any blood born pathogens as well as yourself. As for the matter of mixing blood types it doesn't matter when ingested because the blood is not digested as a whole only some parts of it are digested the rest merely passes through the digestive system. I do believe there are those that do benefit from this type of feeding, mainly from replacing pranic energy. The safest way that I have found for blood letting is by using lancets like those used for diabetic testing. That way you don't risk cutting to deep or too much, you minimize the risk of infection by using a sterile lancet each time, almost impossible to detect it having been done afterwards and almost no pain involved for your donor. With the small amount of blood you get that way you may have to feed a little more frequently but you get more than you think that way and it really doesn't take much as many have pointed out to much will make you sick.

I can't speak for other people about what it may do. But for me, it's like a wake up. I think some people (including me) get a mental addiction to it. Be it the rush that may happen to certain people, the sexual energy could come along with it, or the taste of it, those things could lead to a mental addiction. I, myself, drink blood, in moderation of course, for the metalic taste.

I would have to agree that blood becomes a bond between the taker and giver. This may be sensual, as mentioned above also. I don't believe that there are any "magical" benefits from consuming blood. Some do it for fun, some for pleasure. Drinking blood from others would also require knowing the person well, and knowing they have no blood diseases.

I do recall an artical that I read quite some years ago about a mother and daughter. They were being help captive in a closet with out food or water. The mother found a way to cut her wrist and feed her child her own blood to keep her alive.

Humans are made of of a great deal of water so drinking blood can keep you alive not very well nourished but alive just the same.

err. i thought drinking blood just made you sick if you drank as much as a pint. maybe there is something biologically different about people who claim to be 'sang' to where they can digest it differently or..better. honestly the only thing i could see people getting out of it would be a sort of sexual bond with the person they were 'drinking' from.

I know of some people who drink plasma. I am not sure how that works or affects the human body. I would not take chances on drinking any blood these days.

We do blood screening, meeting with the counsel of elders to see if they are right to enter our community. We don't just pick anyone to enter our world. It's a select group and very tightly knit together. We don't want people who will cause drama or through our business in to public eye.
