i know some people use many different kinds of tools for magical work, path finders, seeing so on and so forth
what do you use ? and why? do you need to use it all the time?
me i use a cat and taro cards for almost everything i use. Luna is able to detect many things especially when there are bad vibes in the area, when i work with my cards she is able to look at them with me, and disturb the vibes i feel.
i have tried other things stones rings , wands , witches balls , but they are just not what calls to me
Well in some practices you are required to rid yourselves of the objects you use so I try not to spend too much on an item such as cloths and store bought items etc.....I am using Runes currently, candles and experimenting with pendulums.
Sorry, I forgot to add why......the pendulums I use as divination and the Runes as a reading and different types and colors of candles for spells. Mind you I am still learning said practices so am still in the early stages.
I use my mind.
Somtimes it does'nt work too well but when the need is there it usually does the job.
I do not practice any "magick" as it is known today, but when I meditate I use music, imagination, and sometimes words to focus my intent.
LS ;)=
They say to use a thing that represents clarity to you. if you are an earthy person use a rock. An airy person a feather. Fire person is a candle and a water person, a bath. personally I use combinations of these things to suit a situation. And music can always help.
I don't normally use any tools or items. Just my mind, focus & will. Doesn't always work, but I seem to have better results this way. When trying to introduce tools into my method, I found myself more distracted by them.
I do like using tarot cards, and pendulums for divination. I also use crystals for meditation. To make sacred space, I like using a wand or athame. All in all, the tools are great, but most of the time I enjoy working tools-free.
Oh yes, and I do enjoy meditating with my cat. He is very good at detecting negative energy.
I use my Pendulum alot & I also use candles & incense. The pendulums I use to ask questions & the candles & incense I use to help me with spells.
I like to use herbs and crystals when I do magick. Which isn't all that often.
Due to the nature of my job and as such my options for spell componets are very limited. I have my penagram I carry on my dogtag chain and a knife I use to cast... but I find most of what I do resides in the knowledge I have gathered over time. I am sure the god and godess understand.
Whatever is at hand right at the moment I'm going to consider something, is all that's needed. If what I need isn't around, then it's probably not quite the right moment to do something.
I. too use my mind. Sometimes nature. Never once has it failed me and I try not to use it often. I like to find guidance when needed the most, at my toughest times.
i use music to meditate and helps me to relax and concentrate to use some of my spells aka magik
i use as many devices as i feel drawn to one day it may be the ouja board or my vampire tarot, runes , wands , books , insence, books portal and pedol herbs and spices , candles , pengelum, some things seem more collected then used when i start my magick i always start with meditation and music and i let it draw me to what i need to use
what about using a magic 8 ball that you buy in any stores? Has anyone use them as a magical device?
I use no tools, of course I don't practice magic...There's so much in the world that I can see no reason to need magic or to "practice" it. Just going out into nature and wandering around, talking to a stranger, playing with my puppy, or sitting with my lover is enough magic for me heh.
I've been using Tarot for most of my things. I'm still learning so I have yet to delve into anything deeper than that... but I am an empath so that helps a lot!
I use tarot cards and my sixth sense. I have meditated enough to use my sixth sense to feel good and bad vibes.
well i use tarot cards, my sixth sense and basically anything else i am able to use that doesnt feel weird to me or that i dont get a bad vibe to. I just depends on the person.
The mind can work wonders when it comes to manifestation
Tools help me keep my focus. For casting a circle I use an Athame, for spells or diviniation the tools vary from mirrors to crystals to herbs.
If I were to use anything then I would have to say it would be the tarot cards, just because I think they have their special brand of magic :)
i use stones alot ----- i can see and feel things through them.
I don't use magic. I do however cleanse my house of negative energy with Sage smudge sticks. I suppose this is a ritual cleansing.
Im big on using natural herbs and I do use tarot for divination too.
I use information craft taking pieces of what is overlooked by others and putting them together.
The audeance likes to be involved in the performance the more you relate to obscure personal things the better the house.
I also use slack rugs, gimmies, and loads. Perceptive craft is part theater stage craft.
I always use candles because it helps set the atmosphere and stones or crystals because they help keep me focused and grounded when I do practice magic.
Any anyone here Tarot read, and do it as their choosen profession?
i have used many different tools for many different things but when all is said and done i use my mind mostly that way i can stay in tune with the task at hand
what do you use ? and why? do you need to use it all the time?
Nine out of ten times I do not need anything to use, it draws away from what I'm trying to do.
If I do use things, its ether my cats, candles, exc.
It helps channel the power?
Depends on what I want to do. In some cases I use my mind and nature. I have runes and a wand made from elder, stuffed with protective and cleansing herbs. My altar is used to keep tings on so they do not get lost. I also have a lot of other fine tools, but it is only when it feels right to use them.
Magic circle, perfumes, oils, candles, habit, pentacle of solomon, parchment paper, blood, holy water, sword, and bible...
Tarot cards are the most evil and wonderous thing's i use. I got a reading about something bad happenning in a couple of days's and it got me today.
Stones and the Tarot...but it is an ongoing process, that's for sure!
I use tarot cards when I find my path is getting difficult or murky and I can't see or understand where or what I am to do next. I find the tarot a useful tool in giving me clarity.
For me, I cannot point to any specific device that I use, but I do use the power of repetitive ritual.
For example, every time I get into my car to drive, I always go through the same ritual. Key into the ignition, start the car, seat belt, sun glasses, roll down windows, turn on cruise control, release the parking brake, select desired music track, adjust volume, place in gear, and begin driving.
I do this everytime, every day, the same way every time. It focuses my energies and thoughts and prepares me for driving.
I always carry a knife with me to use as an athame. If I am doing a prepared spell then I will use my altar, colored candles, incense, and my consecrated athame. All are used to prepare my state of mind to allow my will to perform at its strongest in gathering energy in the circle and sending it out to perform my desires for the spellwork.
Most of your best tools are the ones you give meaning to and how you wish to use it. You gives the tools its power with your faith.
A well tuned perception is all that is essential in my opinion. Sure, other things can aid but aren't necessarily needed.
Its not just what we use its how we use them as well if you look at it.
Use no tools, but calling in the energy, as learned in Reiki and direct it.
See tarot cards never really did anything for me, what do you do when you use them?
Items are good as a tool for when and if they are needed; some people use them to help their focus.
I find when in the mood to perform, candle flame helps me.
Magical Device is only for support you really do not need to use them or use tools, as persay. It is all mind over matter and consentration.Focus, A circle or a groupe helps the power perform and make more power rituals work .
i use a tarot deck or runes for divination purposes, and candles for candle magick.
I've always used crystals and tarot cards. they're what has always worked for me. and also, i find that it's not so much the tool used but the intent and the reverence of the one using and/or benefiting from the use of the tool. Example. when reading tarot cards for someone who is incredilous about magic they have a way of blocking my ability to let the cards speak. therefore, having an open mind is crucial.
I haven't done any spiritual things lately. I used to all the time. I can't seem to do this stuff during the day because I'm more of a night person. The moon helps me. I wear a pendant on my neck that has the cycles of the moon on it. I have sat in a bathtub a few times with rose petals. It did seem to help me. I find that natural tools are more important and helpful to me than anything man made. It seems to delute the energy feel.
Are tarot cards a magical device?.. I was always under the impression they were a tool to read into the future.
i use tarot cards, crystals, and wands. these are just the things that have always felt good to me?
My magical device is my will power.
I use it the way I see fit. For everything I need or want..
As for tools... I use them for ritual purposes more so. I like rituals for it celebrates the old ways..
i've also tried an altar for doing spells. that involves a couple items but it forms a space of respect for practicing magic.
I adore my tarot cards. Wherever I go they go. They generally end up under my pillow at night and in my bag during the day.
i actually just got my very own tarot deck. i can't wait to try it out!
I honestly never gave that thought before, but looking back at some dark times in my life, my cats -- especially my little girl, Pixie, have really reacted (for lack of a better term) and would demand attention until I was so caught up in trying to untangle her from me that I would feel better. To this day, she has a special sense for coming around and just making herself "available" when something seems off.
I use water, more specifically the sound of running water, to help me relax and focus..
I never actually thought of using my pets as magical devices, probably because I only have dogs, but it's a nice idea.
I don't use anything because I don't have anything in the apartment to use that I can call my own. However if I had I would use crystals and a magic ball to tell of furture happenings.
I have always had an interest in tarot cards but I would have to say my magical device is my Jeep. Nobody can explain how it still runs...not even me.
I use my mind.
Sometimes my kids bring me stuff like colorful rocks, or they have a particular shape, and all kinds of feathers and so i keep them since they are natural "gifts" and I may not realize exactly what they are for but I'm guessing it's a spiritual thing cuz that's how they feel to me. ^^
I use music. it moves me and to me it is magic in itself.. I also use chants and herbs. to me magic is natural.
I use a scrying mirror quite often for past life regression or just to relax into a meditative state.
I also u a variety of crystals for energy work.
I wish i knew what to use, but I use the indians healing stones and meditations to help me when i am sick
I have never used tarot cards before( haven't really been taught that is). But I use music , stones and crystals, certain types of aroma's depending on what I am doing, and candles.
Well for myself it depends on what i am drawn to and for what purpose it is for. Of course I use candles and herbs and oils for spells and rituals. As for divination, it just depends, it might be tea leaves , my tarot cards, Runes I have several different tools . I really like to work with candle magic though.
I used to use tarot but this might seem like a curse but my whole deck got ablaze.. I kinda dropped in a campfire..
I also use candles, crystals, incense and herbs too as part of elemental magick for healing and prosperity spells.
I use what ever tool is best for the job on what I am doing at the time.
Me personally i use alot of things i never have a set device.
I have lots of stones and some crystals that I am quite attached to and have all around me in my room.
I find that using to many objects and such is to distracting...A simple blessed candle (if that) and meditation will work much better than tring to concentrate on all the trinkets.....You just need one thing and that is your mind......
Take Care everyone.....Happy casting!!
I also use tarot, candles and an oil Laurie Cabot had made for me. But for pissing someone off I have a doll I made out of my x-husbands clothes that I inflict pain in and I use vinegar.
i staered off use stones and cards and books and things but iv been doing all my life it took me time but it got to now when i dont thing things any more thge things i use now come from with in me
I myself do not practice magic nor use any devices but have known many who do and I think it is an individual choice and what is comfortable to them.
I myself when I want to be more in tune and focus I will listen to music and get lost in it rather than focusing on the problem or situation and it give me a clearer head in the long run...another thing I do is to go around a body of water and get lost in the beauty of nature itself.
i use tarot cards, second sight... i am also a medium...
i have my stars (rings) to help my magik, as well as protect me...i use them all the time.
i use candles and incense they personaly work the best for me i also make my
I have gotten my self in trouble with a green witch and finding myself using more cleansing tools than anything.
i have this crystal thing ... and idk if it works but a friend said that it did.
There are many things I use in my magick - my athame to draw the circle, different crystals, herbs and colored candles all have very specific meanings and uses.
I use a black mirror to scry, statues of Anubis and Bast to honor my God and Goddess of choice, a pendulum for divination, singing bowls, drums, runestones, bind runes.... I could go on.
Most objects used in magick are just a way for your mind focus but certain things such as herbs, incenses, colored candles, crystals - allo have very specific meanings and uses. There is simply not enough room or time to explain all of them.
If you have a specific question regarding certain items - e-mail me.
