People need to be educated on what vampirism really is, not the hollywood versions.
If people really care about you and love you, they should understand, right?
Not all the time..
There really is no reason to hide.. there is no reason for anything in life to be forced upon others either, but hiding it isnt going to expel the myths that lovely entertainment has produced.
But when your job could be on the line, it could defiantly be a little harder to try to expel these myths.
I believe in telling the people close to you, but what about the people that barely know you?
Are u scared to be judged, or ridiculed for what you are, or for what you believe in?
And why?
Thank you for starting this post.. You already know how I feel about this from the other thread. I feel no one should hide what and whom they are. Like I said before, there is no need to wear the t-shirt announcing it, but I dont believe in decieving either. If someone likes you they are going to like you anyway. No matter what your beliefs are. I am considered strange anyway, so whats the difference. is it going to hurt me that joe blow doesnt want to talk to me anymore now, no, not at all. EDUCATE the people out there, get their mind frame off of the movies and into reality. Our reality. If they dont like it, then screw them. Those are my feelings anyway..
And your opinions are totally understandable. I`ve been sick of how hollywood potrays vampires for awhile, so i believe that if someone asks, you should just tell them the truth not hide it.
But some people have kids and a house to pay for, etc etc, and they cant take the risk of telling their boss that kind of stuff.
Sure, its illegal to fire someone like that, but if its a right to work state, you could be gone for no particular reason at all.
So, is that risk worth it?
btw, np at all :P
when that forum started going into this, it interested me about what others might think about it.
can anyone ever truly be themselves around anyone, even those who are suppose to love you?
no one likes to be judged or made fun of..it tends to take a chunk out of our self esteem..so we hide what we are and become depressed, angry...
no one can be themselves totally out in the world in front of people..thats why we gravitate to those who are like minded..so we can keep some of our sanity and feel as though we are not wierd..that others are wierd too.
I've tried telling my lover. He left me a week later. I told my friend and she left. How can you tell people without freaking them out?
True.
We usually hide some things, but isnt vampirism a big part of your life though, shouldnt people be aware of it?
I actualy know of a family in Windsor Canada of the real medicle Vampires and I think they think we are pretty silly for all of this
I think it depends on the person you want to tell. Some people can handle it,others can't.
Personally I think the people who acccept it so easy probably have a little bit of darkness going on themselves. :grins:
I am in the same atmosphere everyday, as are those of you who work with a close group of people. I never come right out and say I am in this lifestyle. I slowly acclimate people to it . A comment here, a joke there. People will pick up on this even if they don't want to.
I'm reminded of that experiment where they tested how hot of temperatures a frog could withstand.{why is it always frogs?} Anyway, the tempereture was slowly raised higher and higher, but the frog let itself be boiled because it was acclimated.
Thats the method I use. Not actual boiling though.lol
I do love vampire lore, However ,i do not consider my self to be a vampire, or any thing like that.I am more into the Gothic culture. But this thread is very interesting.
Tannaleaf,
That is what I am saying, you dont have to come right out and tell people but a hint here and there and feeling them out until you are comfortable is great. Then its really a matter of caring what they think or not. We can not always be afraid of what the outside world thinks. That is why we all keep to ourselves. Its not healthy.
This is how I see it as, its like the Matrix, no everyone is ready to be opened to this. There are those who accept the mystical in life and can be told about this. Yet, not everyone can accept the fact, even if there is magic in the world, that Vampyres do exist.
Then there are those who believe in "Reality" in all its many flaws and aren't willing to open up at all to it.

Same thing happens if you mention paganism .............. the problem is trying to educate the un-educated !! most people turn away from these kinda things because they don't 'want' to understand ............
I know what you mean. you tell someone you're a pagan, they don't know what it means or they assume you're a satanist. You say witchcraft, they ask you for love spells. You tell them you're into the vampyric lifestyle, they ask how much blood you drink! Its not their fault, they just haven't got the knowledge needed to understand these things. But I do make it a point never to 'educate' a person unless they genuinely want to know and appear interested. Otherwise, its just preaching and I hate that
I don't feel that society in general is ready to fully understand the complex natures of true vampirism yet. Much like racism, classism, and other forms of prejudice, outting oneself to this world is asking to be tormented.
i agree with vampwriter here. you might think it's ok to be open to but there's a rarity in people that you can trust. If they aren't ready to accept what you do, then you're only asking for whatever comes your way.
you should only be open to those friends that you know are true and that you trust otherwise they will leave you cos they dont know what it is all they see is the hollywood version as mentioned above, if more people knew what is what they wouldnt freak out.
If I was in the life style I wouldn't tell anyone about it.
It's not true that if a person loves you s/he has to accept you.
Most love you cause of what they think of you but if you tell them that you are something they don't understand they abandon you.
I'm already tought as a Hollywood vampire(I don't even mention vampires with anyone) and freak and whatever. But I'm cursed,am surrounded by ignorants.
Well some people might be scared or something to express themselves. Most common people don't respect goths, vampire loveing and/or worshipers and such and there for are rejected by the so called "people" of the country or where ever they are from.
i'm a really odd person and i sumtimes really wonder, how i still have "normal" friends. because of that fact i have to agree to other posts, where was said that "special things" should be unclosed only for "special persons" ;)
I have to agree, mainly because of what vampwriter said.
How can you show the world something so "odd" when the world STILL has racism?
I guess you could, but be prepared for some to leave you, even if they said they never would.
everyone I know knows what and who I am I am not scared to admit anything
Many people have asked if I am a vampire. Many times I have had to look them in the eye and say "No." in a very clear concise tone to get it through their thick neandrathal skulls.
And I'm not. But for those of you that are: I'm sorry about the shrot sighted bastard that won't accept you. They're the ones that give the rest of us a bad name. I'm just here to say we aren't all like that.
I could count on 1 hand & still have a couple fingers left over on how many people I have told.
Because of my past I am watched constantly. And if anything about "this" got out I would be tossed in the looney bin so quickly.
I know what I am & how I live my life. As long as I am OK with it all, that's all that matters to me. Although my DR did wonder why I turned anemic so suddenly. Ummmm, I dunno doc, you tell me.
Well I am making this a point. I will not hide anymore.. I wll not advertise but I will not hide either.. Its not worth the feeling you get when you hide... I am me and Iam going to be proud of it...
like the person above me said i will not advertise but i will not hide and as far as a job being on the line i am military which means i have an image to uphold you know like haircuts and stuff like that but the bottom line i am who i am
i agree, seems like people missinterprut things in the movies and mix them up with reality
i agree but they don't always understand, luckily my family and friends do.
I was lucky enough to meet friends who were into the metaphysical, and we formed a sort of coven. We firmly believe that no one will understand unless they want to, and they generally don't want to.
I tend to be a private person anyway, so I haven't found this to be a problem. My close friends know, and my family doesn't because they wouldn't accept it due to their religious beliefs.
i only date people who accepet me for my vampire ways..if they dont then they need to fuck off
i keep it to myself and close friends to avoid hunters
vampires are are afraid to be open with people because of close minded people who don't like things that they don't consider "normal" or "right".
I'm pretty much out there. My family knows, my son may but I doubt it and its not something I feel is that important that I need to tell him about. If people ask me, I tell them.......if not well there is no need for it.
it's the same with everything you do you got to make the decisions right for you...but remember the saying never discuss politics and religion...it's probably around the same grounds as that.
hm, i think ur right. You shouldnt really ever discuss politics and religions with many people unless youre looking to debate about it. I guess believe thats the way it with vampirism or any other belief, you cant just expect everyone to believe in your beliefs, it wouldnt be an unique world if everyone dressed the same and thought the same.
But, then again, I wish everyone would at LEAST understand.. but I guess that would be like wishing everyone at LEAST understood race, religion, etc
Well, the least we can ask for is tolerance, but I don't think they're even willing to give that.
yea, most wont even give tolerance.
I mean, theres people out there that watch a little much buffy and think they should grab stakes and crosses and try to kill us.. I dont think the whole world will ever completely understand, not with so many misleading movies, stories and myths out there
And a steady cash flow to fund them. As long as they can mislead the public, they'll continue making them.
I believe that you shouldn't be afraid of who you are but don't go making trouble if there is no need. For instance I am bi sexual but I don't go around saying it unless it comes up in a conversation then I will speak my mind about the topic or myself. I hope this was of help to you!
What we all need to understand is that there is this thing called Freedom of Expression and we all need to start using that and not be afraid what others may think. I dont want to hide forever. I want to be a part of things, although I know I never will, but I cant hold back the way that I feel. I say this over and over again, I dont care what people ask me, I tell them.. If they dont like it, then dont ask me. I have a big mouth and I am not afraid to use it.. To get off topic in a way here, I had a converstion with my office one day, they were talking about aliens. Well I believe we are not the only people in the whole universe, that doesnt make sense to me.. so I said so, well the next day and the next I get alien pics on my desk, they think that they are tugging at a nerve, I find it amusing. Take me as I am or leave me the hell alone... Bottom line, "regular" people are the ones that need to grow up and expand their horizons some. LEARN before you speak...
i blame the whole confusion and attitude on the mass media! i do love to watch the vamp vids but come one the need to do one about real vampyres is what i believe.
i dont hide who or what i am though i am only down to my pentcal silver ring right now iusally have about three necklasces i let the world see besides my ring oh and my watch to match ;) but i had a pentical necklace an anuk and a triscal (celtic element circle) and i wore them all the time ppl would stare. i dont care i believe in shock therapy! you shock them enough times and they get curious :D
well thats my 13 cents for now :D
I know that what you're saying is true, but its not necessarily the way to go about it all. Informing people is one thing, but the only way that they will ever draw away from popular beliefs is for the person to be willing to new ideas. Since we were children, we've been taught that vampires are blood-sucking demons without souls and whatnot, the hollywood image. However, very few people realize that its a religion. I seem to think of the what happened with wiccans back in the days of the salem witch trials.
i think alot of good points have been made here, i agree with the fact the vampirism has an hollywood image which everybody is lead to believe.
i think people do not understand what it is, and judge it to be evil based on stories or movies they've seen or heard :)
There are definitly times in life when we have to pretend to be something we are not. I have some family members who are strict catholics. I love them, but I would never be open with them. I don't like the feeling of being looked down upon because of someone else's ignorance. There are times and places for pride, and there are other times for modesty. I know I am a better person for not judging them, as they would me. Instead I feel pity for them and their lack of open-mindness. Because I know what a beautiful world they are closing their eyes to. I will not pretend to be like them, but I do not flaunt my differences. However, I would not lie if asked about it. If someone genuinely wanted to know me and wanted to understand, then I would be open. But in a world of closed minded people it is sometimes easier and more peaceful to remain silent.
hm, youve all made alot of good points, from being open to hideing it.
I hate being looked down upon because of ignorance, but sometimes it makes you feel better to get it out there.
I guess you cant really change peoples opinions on this because everyone has different fears, and beliefs.
i do not hide who i am from anyone else......they eother except me or they don't........to many people live their life a lie and i just refuse to do that
I keep to myself, except for a select crowd. It's better to be unseen
"normal people" have a latent fear of vampirism. If it was universally known that vampires existed, they would rise up and attempt to eradicate vampires. I personally think that secrecy is for the best....
SxxxyDarkAngel69, its not ignorance if youre asking for help, its ignorance if you pretend to know every aspect of something when really you know nothing. no one can look down on you for asking a question, especially if its for personal and spiritual growth.
ppl just need to put there fear of the vampires and take us for who we ar. right?
yes, but that's easier said than done. Very few accept what is outside the realm comfort for pop culture. If fear or loathing has been installed in our minds from an early age, change will not be favorable for those who are greeted with the opportunity. Who knows? maybe one day the world will accept change and throw out the whole status quo thing, just let people live in their own ideas. Why does everyone seem to need to be accepted? Isn't it first and foremost important to be who you are and if youre proud of that, stick with it no matter who challenges those beliefs you have set up for yourself?
I like to be a private person and in proffessional life, or around town, I feel is not neccessary to be "out" as a vamp or in My case I am lesbian and into bdsm as well. There is no need for personal/business aquaintances to know Me that well, especially if I have controversial interests. It's none of their "business". There are simply those I chose to be free with and others that will never get close to Me. I also feel this revolves around personal choice.
hmm...I agree with a lot of you about the media, movies and so on. I think that a lot of the intolerence comes from the believer of other religions. They can get so angry at atheist, satanist..whatever you maybe not just because they dont understand but that your beliefs isn't working with theirs...They're too busy with their own beliefs to be open minded about other. At least that is what I've incountered so far...
Well, if I was vampyre...I would decide who I can trust the most and gradually open up to them, much like my personal path..which I only reveiled to a few.
my personal opinion on that is, that the onces who know you and love you should know about it. i mean my close friends and some people of my family know.
that doesnt change my thoughts about showing your vampriric side in public. i dont think that it must be showed. for those who want to i only can say: feel free to do it. but my myself dont want to show it, because most people dont need to know and the knowledge about it would cause me only more problems.
Agreed, if you feel that it will just make things worse...you can withold that secret to your grave if you prefer.
My opinion is that everyone may not be open to vampirism yet..They may get scared and rebel against us..I do not believe it is the right time..It is not that we, vampires as a whole, are hideing from people..Most already know..But it shall happen when the time is right..It might be soon, it might be a million years from now, but the question is what do you think would happen if we revealed ourselves.?How do you think people would react to millions, upon millions of our kind out on the street?
I understand where your coming from about hiding it in certian places such as a job and such... But if u ask me, personally.. I think that either if ur only into vampirism or ur acually one you shouldn't be shy or even be ashamed about it.... I don't really care what other people think about me, I've told several people... It's like I always say, if you don't like me for who I am... Bite me!! I'm proud to be a vamp, I really enjoy it even though it has some downfaults.... I say stand up for what you believe in and forget what other people may think...
i agree with you frankie.....as i said in another treath, if i know that a person likes me and that eventually things will continue to get better, i would tell him who i really am. if he really likes me he would understand
It's all about the way you bring it across as well. Casual conversation and blurting it out doesn't work-- but in a case or three for me it's made lasting relationships.
Im afraid im just one of those that dont think i need to announce anything to anyone about what i may or may not be. I dont feel any need to educate anyone about Vampirism , Pranic or Psy. Sometimes i get a bit annoyed at mis conceptions. For example many people think you have to be a goth for some reason. Or that you have fangs. People at the end of the day believe what they want anyway and id say most of the population would hear the one word Vampire and expect you to dissapear in a puff of smoke and re-appear in some groovy bat wings.
I belive that in the right place and right time people can be told....but you must be able to decern this time and Place for yourself....
Well, for the longest time I've tried to tell my mom that I was vampric, but she kept telling me that I was full of shit... But yet, she has all kinds of natural herb spell books... But after a friend of mine invited me to be his vamp queen and be part of his coven, my mom has finally accepted the fact that I'm a vampire, and got over it...
Why can't other people get over the fact that vamps really exsist yet? They've been around for thousands of years and we haven't been getting critisized hardcore until now, because the movies have gave us a bad name and people the wrong impression about us....
I have to disagree somewhat there. In my understanding, vampires have been feared and reviled by non-vampires since the beginning of their existence.
I actually think that the media and literature has, in a very substantial way, aided the romantic notions of vampyrism and essentially paved the way for an opportunity to de-mystify- within the bounds of intelligent conversation and research.
Popularisation of the ideal makes people curious and fear is no longer readily apparent, particularly in the youngest generation which is learning about them.
But this lack of caution could also be born of ignorance, or lack of education material, as much as from a genuine acceptance.
It is my thought that there should never be a reason to 'hide' the truth of your beliefs or choices in life. I also think that there is no reason to walk forth 'blaring over the loudspeaker' every thought, opinion, or position you hold.
I work as an Instructor in a Catholic owned/run Organization and though I do not hide my religious/social choices I do not make it a point to throw it up in the face of each and every person I meet each day. I am well respected by just about everyone there from the Nuns to the Priests to the Staff and Clients. I have never hidden my pentacle that I wear around my neck, nor my tats or piercings. Now, I know that everyone who sees me each day has noticed them - but it seems that they have selective vision or they just have the tact to be silent. Now on the other hand if one of them chooses to make it a problem, then surely I will stand for my beliefs to the end of that I have no doubts.
I beleive you are what you are, there is no getting away from it. People should except you for you regardless, if they don't then they are not your friends.
yea, i dont care who knows , if they dont like me cause of it oh well
Hello :-). My friends are the best very supportive. If they want to know something they just ask and encourage me even tho they do not partake in the lifestyle. My Mother however thinks i am a freak and is embarrassed by me. My Father is a bit more supportive, so I am thankfull for that.
I enjoyed this post and everyone elses feed back :-)
most people hide...and it is because they are afraid they won't be accepted...either that or they may believe that is something to be ashamed of...you are right...if someone can't except you they are not your true friends...and no one should ever be ashamed of who they really are...we are all different and whether you chose to be open about it or not is on you...but it is best with no secrets...no harm no foul...-mieta-
Why hide who you truly are??? If people cant accept you they were never people you needed to know! i have been judged by so many people for who i am and they are not my friends! my friends i can only count on one hand! they accept me! and never have they judged me! NEVER HIDE!
i also think that if you are un comfertable with it then yea you can keep it to ur self and not let any one kno
NO WAY!!! if you are are not comfortablewith who you are then you are not who you say you are! you need to be able to accept it yourself before other people can accept you for who you truly are!!! BE TRUE TO YOURSELF OR YOU ALLOW OTHER PEOPLE TO LIE TO YOU TOO!!!
i agree that you should be open about it, if ppl don;t accept it or criticize you for it, that is their beliefs and their perceptions... according to them your beliefs aren't right so what automatically makes them right? to say someone is wrong is to imply that you know everything, which no one person really does, so logically, these ppl should shut the hell up and let ppl believe what they wanna believe... =)
I am open about.. almost everything to everyone I love, If they love me then they should understand and love me anyway. All my friends I have are like that and I am blessed in that way. My view if as long as it doesn't hurt anyone then it is none of their concern as long as it makes you happy. This is how I was brought up I geuss, my mother taught me this and she is the same way. ^^
idc what people thin about me and it. but yeah, i dont have a job yet. i wouldnt exactly put it on my application though. so yeah its something that i would tell anyone that im not "professionaly" involved with
its not something that i try to hide at all... ever...people can either like me or not, love me or not..... this is who i am...
As I siad in my profile, the problem is that with so many schools of thought on the matter, so many misconceptions, why would you really want to share it with the world? A lot of the stories that go around are the reasons that people would think we where nutters, so its a touchy subject in that respect.
I never hide it unless the wrong time im not ashamed of what i am if people have a problem with it i always just say screw them
I'm not ashamed of ''what'' I am....But I am ashamed of other people that believe the lies in all of this
I agree with XsyntheticheavenX that people are stupid for believeing everything that they see, espeically with hollywood movies, but killswitch is right in a very important way, there is a time and a place to let people know "what" you are.
i have lost friends over what i am so i guess they were never really friends to begin with but i have also gained alot of friends so you win some and you lose some
i don't tell people i'm a vampire. this is not out of hiding, it's because the word vampire, like any other word, is just that. not to sound cliche', but i'm much more than just words. i don't think that things i do on my own time with someone i'm comfortable with needs to be the business of anytone i wouldn't do it with, regardless of the activity. i'm not going to walk up to someone at work and tell them "this morning i had a nice, regular BM" anymore than i'm going to tell them "last night i had a euphoric experience walking through a group of people dancing."
this should be further expanded with the fact that while i am polite and cordial to everyone who crosses my path unless they give me reason to treat them other ways, there are very few people who i truly enjoy spending time with or just being in the company of. my circle of aquaintances is vast and wide. my circle of chosen family could be easily counted between two hands. those are the people who i am totally open and honest with about my life and lifesytle. no one else needs to know.
i want to add more to this.
there are people in my life who i love dearly and value the love and friendship of who do not know everything that goes on in my life. these people, for whatever reason, would not approve or certain parts of my life, vampiric or otherwise. there are certain occasions when i love someone enough to sacrifice being able to share that part of myself with them.
my love is a strong and infinite thing. it's not an easy thing to get me to love you, but if i'm willing to share my love with you then more than likely i'm willing to compromise on one or two things, even if they are "big" issues.
i never had aproblem opening up to people i cared about because i got lucky and must of my friends and family are vampires or wiches so like i said i got lucky on that one but some people don't like what i am and that ok with me cause if they can't accect me for what i am then they aren't wearth my time anyways
Movies are just that .. entertainment. I could care less about how or what they portray. As far as telling them about who or what I am, it's my business alone. What I choose to share is not a matter of fear, but of personal preference. Our lives are of our own concearn. Have you ever seen a human explain to the meat why it is going to consume it?
I think that movies have made the vamp species look very bad and very weak.. Don't get me worng I love a good vamp movie, but come on now...If u drive a steak through anyones heart they r going to die no matter who or what it is... Same thing goes for cutting the head off.. And we DON"T sleep in coffins, we sleep in beds like all the other ppl out there....
lol vampiricdream you get a 10 for that comment from me ^_^
That's true but you also gotta remember is that most people hate them kinds of people. They might even form a hate group against you and next think you know you got cities against you.
Very true! If they knew it was actually much harder to tell then they think, we'd be back to the dark ages of the Inquisitions. That which they fear, they drink their liquid courage and try to destroy.
that is a good q? and i have to say i dont care what people think of me because if theyre all buddy buddy and then you tell them uve went into wicca and they turn there backs on you is when u no who ur real frenz are
If you feel that whole cities may be against you just for revealing the truth behind yourself..don't worry, its not you, its their arrogance showing.
I always say never hide who you are. If people can't accept it, they're probably not worth being around. And I hold that true with everything I do, openmindedness and tolerance is something that everyone needs. I know my position sounds very harsh, but it works for me.
FrostShadow, I agree with your response, but only to a certain extent. I mean, what if you couldn't hold a job because of it? My friend jokingly put down that he was a nazi to get out of jury duty and it kept him from getting his dream job at a company that he has been working towards working for for his entire life. Telling people that you are a vampyre could elicit the same response. It is right to be open with close friends and relatives, but what you do on your own time should not effect the rest of your life, mainly your work and daily life therein.
The problem with education is that it is virtually impossible to force it on someone. A person set in their beliefs is not going to change regardless of what they are told. An open mind seems to be the key of the occult, and the lock of the christian.
These are all very personal beliefs and ways of being...One should only share these energies, knowledges and practices with those who prove themselves worthy...
well, it is not really something i tell too many people. only very very trusted friends but i mainly keep it to myself. in fact i dont tell them at all i only answer them if they ask me about it.
I don't think that vampires should tell what they are to anyone only if that person is a vampire and can be trusted, the world knows to much about Vampires as it is, NO ONE SHOULD KNOW BUT A VERY SELECT FEW!!!!!!!!
and if the media makes vampires look bad then so be it, vampires know who and what they are and thats all that matters, the more ppl stay out of there buissness the better!
u prove a good point. i personally would show who i am. i normally dont really care about others opinions about me. and if my friends didnt except thae fact that i am, then they r friends not worth having.
I don't think that if a vampire doesnt come out and say the he/she is a vampire , is saying that he/she is ashamed of what they are, no body knows who you can trust, its simply protection of ones self.
HAHA! I don't conceal my nature, nor do I flaunt it. That laughter by the way isnt directed towards anyone, just of my bemusement. I think people should fear us. We are more than they, and if someone comes up to me and says "You scare me." I usually respond with a wink, a fangy smile, or a dilation of the eyes. Scaring people is what I do, and I'm pretty damned good at it if you ask me.
Through my eyes i see not why people hide in the dark i will flaunt it i want to be feared i want the power of those that fear me. I will watch my back for vampire hunters but not amoungst the humans that despise me nope not gonna happen im out there waiting to be reconized.
Those closest to me know what I am. But I don't feel it necessary to announce it to everyone I meet.
Being a vampire is only a small part of who I am, there is so much more to me than just that.
For me I feel telling those around you what you are is the right thing to do. I hate fakes, posers and such. If you have friends that are not into the same thing that is their business. If they don't want to talk to you because of it then they aren't friends.
When you are around them try to find a common ground and talk about that.
When at work be you but don't bring it up if the other people are going to be uncomforable talking about it. People I work with know about me but we keep our conversations to a work related topic cuz they are uncomfortable with it. They respect that I don't hide it. I respect them as co-worker so I don't talk to them about it unless they ask questions.
I don't hide it but I don't totally reveal it either.
I recently told a friend about what i am! Needless to say he is now no longer a friend! I wish that was not so! He does not hate me out of respect for what was our friendship! Nor does he speak of what i said to him! It will only be a matter of time before he accepts it! And i know he will! He has been my friend for too long to give it up! And I would die again if i lost his friendship!
All in all i know that being honest with him has helped me be at peace with myself! So i ask this-
WHY HIDE WHO YOU ARE???
It's not about hideing who you are, it's about protecting yourself and other VAmpires, this shouldnt be a selfish matter, just bc you want to blab to the world that you are a Vampire doesnt mean that you should, people can figure it out on there own if they really want to know
I AM NOT AFRAID OF WHAT OTHER THINK OF ME...I WILL DESTROY ALL THAT STEP TO ME WITH THAT ATTITUDE...I PROTECT THOSE I LOVE AND CARE FOR....
OTHERS CAN DIE A THOUSANDS DEATHS
my friends, I do tell.....acquatainces, not that important to me.
it doesnt mater what others think about it as hong as they that it exist then they should get over the fact that we are all different in our own way
im not afraid of my vampirism im open about it humans are food to me
I dont think its a matter of hiding it from people I think it's just choosing the sort of person who can deal with such information. I know many vamp people and all but one of them are lovely. the one who is not lovely will tell anone in any conversation even if it has nothing to do with the conversation. This is like another friend of mine who is loud about being bisexual. neither of these things are wrong but if expressed forcefully and randomly on people ewho are not comfortable with such things is asking for cruel judgement. Although in a perfect world people close to you would understand this is not a perfect world so you have to tell the people who can deal with it. I have a dissorder which people need to know about so that i can avoid extream stress and paranoia about them finding out and judging me but I would'nt bring it up unless nessecary, appropriate and I was talking to someone who could cope.
People should accept you for the way that you are and I hope people reach a stage where they can very soon
the world around me is better off if they dont know.... im happy as is
just be true to urself if people dont like you for who you are they are the closed minded ones..
Telling those that are important to you is good, but be prepaired for the outcome reguardless of what it is.
Some may try to change you or just leave you behind.
It's a hard road to walk.. knowing when and who you can open up to.. and who you can not.
Each individual has to weigh the options for themselves and hope for the best in the end.

I used to hide it when I was a child because I was always told I would be harmed if my secret got out but now Im no longer afriad and I dont hide it. Its just a part of who I am, a part of who my children are and if you dont like it then you will just have to kiss me arse.
