I wonder.. If there is a such thing as ghost do they walk the earth and guide the humans for seek revenge.. Or are they just the traveling sprits of the battered souls.. could this be possible?

i think that ghosts are the souls/spirits of the recently deceased that are trying to finish things and accomplist goals that they had in life but never finished.
or...maybe some are after revenge...maybe those that are murdered or were driven to suicide, or even just mistreated by someone close...

They could also be spirits that are in the afterlife, but are still connected to this realm, and are consequently visible to those sensitive to them.

I feel that there are ghosts. People who are sensitive can see them. Try as I might I have never seen one. Someday though, I'm sure I will. I am fascinated by them. Why are they here. I have been called by name by the ghost at my work place, but he/she has not manifested to me.

I am not sure if there is ghost walking about but i am sure there is sprits about here and there and some people are more sensitive than other and can feel and sense the sprits moods. If soome one can prove on way other the other about ghost them i would believe or not. j

i think there are ''gosts'' but not in the way as we often think! but there are so many storie i have heard about it from the really serious people, older people, and those are people who wouldnt lie about that thing! even them before expiriences didnt belive in the subject!

There are all kinds of souls, spirits, ghosts, or what ever you want to call them that roam this world. There are here for as many different reasons as you can imagine.

Many are just lost and can not find what they need to completely cross.

Being able to see and communicate wtih them leads to some very interesting experinces.

both are possible actually. You have spirits that wander this earth leading humans in differnt directions, then you get the mean spirits, or tormented spirits.

yea ghost are the spirits which move around after a human dies.in our country we believe that while a person dies if we dont perform the rituals properly the soul moves around .

Yes there are spirits and ghosts that travel around and they are around us from time to time...I believe the other night I had a few around me....one huge one by the name of Hellsbane.

What I think: Ever seen Charmed? I think they have a close idea. I think there are planes where you go. Like to wait and stuff. I don't think there is a line of people waiting to either get into heaven or hell. We ourselves create a plane for us to stay on where nobody else is. But sometimes you are not put on a plane and you get stuck on Earth to wait. That is where we get ghost. But thats what I believe, you don't have to ^_^

This topic is definitely one of opinion… and this is mine.

I personally believe death is nothing but a mere illusion. The soul simply discards the no longer useful (and very much limited) body to continue to another plain or world. Now where visible spirits, and(or) ghosts come in… like someone else had already mentioned they could still be attached to this world although they are in another. Much like the human mind is attached to the soul, subconscious, and other worlds. (Opinion) Or the soul chooses not to leave from fear, attachment to someone in this world, or by ignorance. This is a very debatable subject, and nothing is for sure… I guess it all just lays in faith.

it is very possible for it does explain odd things and wierd feelings that i seem to experience every now and then

The only thing I have yet to truly understand is what the girl above me mentioned.... Why some are gifted and some are not.

It might only occur to those who have taken the time and self discipline to open their mind; thus being much more susceptible to reality. The only problem with that is I have heard everyday, average people say they have encountered them or have that gift.

That could mean a lot of different things... perhaps they are lying, perhaps they had ancestors in magick; it’s in the bloodline. Who knows... but I do however know this gift can be brought on with enough hard work and discipline, and (or) magick…

trust me they are real and here....some just wanna see whats going on .....others dont know they are dead....and others still love playing jokes and interfering with the living......

May I ask your reasoning behind your, and everyone else's theories? What proof do you have? What made you think this in the first place?

I took a ghost hunting class once at the request of a friend. It was rather interesting all the different definitions of the kinds of ghosts that are supposedly out there. But the only REAL thing I have to offer is that when my Grandmother died, she appeared to myself and other grandkids afterwards....only one time...as if to let us know she was ok and was no longer in pain.

In my opinion, ghosts specifically are sprits who, don't neccesarily come to terms with they're death; spirits stuck in limbo until they have resolved their purpose and can pass on to the afterlife.
But there are many types of spirits out there, whos purposes and motives are all different. But most of the time, they are spirits stuck in limbo.

In India, there is a belief that a person lives for a certain number of years and it is written eforehand....if they die before the predicted time period, they remain spirits/ghosts until the time period ends....

Belief in ghosts and how they come to be vary between civilizations. The Melanesians believe that the sould sperates into two aprts at death; the adaro (the bad part) and the aunga (the good part). Each part goes to an Island where they are segrigated according to thier nature by a ghost ruler. The adaro eventually die and simply disappear, while the aunga live forever there.
The Chinese believe in at least two, possibly three aspects of the soul, which account for the soul appearing in more places than one.
In the west, the soul is supposed to depart for an eternal resting place, heaven, hell, or pergutory. The returning dead are regarded as unnatural, frightening, and most times demonic, which accounts for the human fear of such things.

Yes, they actually do exist. A while back I've joined up with a paranormal team and just still getting aquainted to the unusual events. They actually need our help to help them move on from the unusual circumstances of their death. They don't even know they're dead!

they do exist...some stay to take revendge for what has happened to them or loved ones (( if they were murdered))
some stay because they have unfinished business
some stay because they wont except that they have passed on
some stay because of loved ones and they dont want to leave them

I believe that ghost actually exist, i feel that their souls are not at rest. there is something missing or something left undone tht must be found/told or completed. I do think that some ghost are evil.

Ghosts are the reamains of the soul of a restless person with unfinished business in this realm or people who refuse to believe they're dead. They are definitely real.

good question indeed... from personal expierence i shall speak... i am quite sentive to spirits myself.. i still communicate with my father 8 years after he died.. he does it to guide me in this life... he is a source of comfort to me...

but i have also sensed spirits which are restless.. their energy levels are different from the spirits guides... they are lost.. they want to reach another level and they cant...

some mediums are trained enough to help these spirits actually to go to the other level as well

Having had a ghost expirience my self i believe they are real. why they are here completely depends on them. Some say they are awaiting judgement which would explain why there are more bad spirits or spirits of those who commited suicide because they are the last to be judged. The recently decessed are still connected to this relm i believe and some of them find it hard to let go. plus some are said to stay and finish unfinished buisness. there is said to be a ghost here in our local cemetary who runs around looking for her lost child screaming and crying out for it. That ghost probably wont leave till she finds that child we dont think she will ever leave. Its that which ties her here.

I think that the ghosts/spirits are here to guide us, not only to help us in revenging someone, but to show us things maybe they never had a chance to teach us..

i think each ghost sticks around for their own personal reasons, be it to seek revenge, guide others in the right direction, finish some things they left behind, or whatever the case may be.

1) Residual Haunting- this form of haunting is when an event that happens repeats itself, not necessarily ghostly activity, you might hear parties or see someone walk past who isn't there. This usually occurs in a place with a high limestone content
2) InHuman- These are the ones that are most likely to cause physical harm, they are believed to have never been in any way shape or form human and they have the desire to harm instilled in them.
3) Poltergeist- Similar to inhuman, but not wishing to cause harm, just messing with ya
4) Intelligent Haunt- the kind you see in most films, these are the ghosts that are trying to make contact or you will usually see. They will be seen doing different things, not things that had taken place in real life

ghosts, and spirits, etc... they are one in the same, they are real yes, many with different perposes. if anyone is into astrial projecton, you all know that you can see them talk to them and lear alot about them.

I believe that there are souls that wonder in many different plance until they are ready to take on a new life in a new time. But they must go threw a learning stage before they go to a new life. Or decide were they are needed next. And there are many different planes they can wonder.
As for ghosts. I do believe in them but i would think they are the people who refuse to go to a new life. That aren't ready to let go of their old life yet. And many become poltergiests.

speaking naturally to them has been easy with me. I've been use to speaking to the dead for quite some time know. I'm trying to train as a medium, being able to use my self as communication for them. I have clairsentinence, being able to pick up info in areas with energy left over, that way I can tell what what happend, what went on exactly, etc...

personally i believe any ghost that anyone sees is an angel or demon who found thier way through thier side of the etherial plane much like we can.

einstein postulated that energy is never destroyed it only changes form. since the human consciousness is associated with if not identified as being a resident energy form within the human body(bioelectric and or electrochemical)then the energy there cant be destroyed and there is some other place for it to go. perhaps this is if the energy forms remain intact after death enough then it may be possible for them to be viewed, act or be interacted with. their apparent demenor would then be subject to how much and what parts remained intact in the place they are viewed.

Ghosts are lost souls...souls that did not find the light and are therefore damned to walk the earth..lost forever..however some souls stay behind because they have unfinished business....there are different forms of ghosts..some are angry..and some just want help

yes i think that ghosts do have unfinisihed busniess as pointed out.. therefore the guides i call them spirits, as they are there to guide me, like my father is my guide and i speak to him very often... from personal expierence as i said they have different energy levels as well.... apaprt from the fact that spirits visit me or by request or when the need is dire.. while ghosts just roam in a place most of the time... and those whom are sensitve enough can percieve them

Yes there are ghosts..... But to ask whether they are good or evil, helping or destructive is like assuming that every white person is a member of the kkk...Its stupid... I have come across spirits that have saved my life and I have come across spirits that have literally taken knives and thrown them at me and tried to choke me..... They do exist they are both good and evil, but they are mostly nuetral, being not ready to stop learning......

I agree with fyre. I have had good and bad experiences with spirits. I know that when my husband and I got married I felt my cousin there. He was letting me know that he was ok and that he loved me. It was an awesome experience and a sad one at the. So there is so many different opinions about this subject. Which I think is awesome.

Well From my Experience, i used to say that ghosts don`t exist until once i had a dream of a person that has been that about 10 years ago and she told me a storyabout one member of my family that i never knew about it before, when i went to speak about it with this person she told me that, what i have heared in that dream is all true. So i mean that if a death person want to send a message to someone it`ll make it when we are sleeping and meet our souls

I think that spirit are real and if you do have the "gift" you cann talk to them besides just seeing them. I think spirits are deseased people who cannot rest until they have fufilled their true objectives. But there are also bad spirits around too who are the to tourment us when we are weak to make us chose the wrong desicions or do something really stupid.

Wow, Kat had a spaz attack there. Personally I believe there are spirts or ghosts. But I don't believe they are capable of wandering all around the earth. A ghost or spirit would be a shadow of the memories of a real person or thing. Therefore, they wouldn't be able wander farther then where there memories go.

I think they are both some dont know what they are here for and some do. My dad is with me and I have a little girl that walks and talks with me when Im at home.

There are a 2-3 that hang out at a friend of mines house. They don't really interact with people very often though, its more like you just know they are there. I'm pretty sure one is female, the other doesn't really manifest itself too often and I can't decide if its male or female which is why i say 2-3.

Spirits are always among us. Living entities that are sensitives know they are around. When someone passes they leave their physical body & are spirit. No need to fear them.

Ghosts/spirits are all around us. i live in a small town in WI called Carryville, and just within 3 miles of my house are like 5 or 6 places that "haunted" by spirits. a house was supposedly built on indean burial grounds, a haunted cemetery on top of a hill, hell hounds around that cemetary, ghost train (brother actually went thry it one time) on the bike trail, priest hung himself in the bell tower, kid died in a school house, and some ppl hung themselves from a bridge. for some, like the hell hounds, i am unsure of as to y they are there. but sometimes i see spirits in my basement as well. most of them i think are here still cuz their business here is unfinished or to look after us.

I have spirits that walk my home evryday and night. I have seen two of them. I do not feel they are here because they are stuck I feel these spirits are around because they need to let something be known .

I don't think there is anything proven one way or another as to why ghosts are around. There are just too many possibilities, and I'm sure there are different reasons for different cases....but I think that the thousands upon thousands of "sightings" would go to show that it is a real thing. Even people who have devoted their life to things of the paranormal nature usually only have speculation to go on.

some call them ghost, other call them spirits. they're the souls of people who've passed away. some souls stays connected to this world, instead of movin on to another level, because they might've been experienced a violent death, or they chose to stay in our world in order to help someone they care about, becoming their withelighterguardian.

yes in my opinion ghosts are very real i just feel that they choose who gets to see them and if they do not want you to see them you won't. I also believe they are here to finish a job they had to finish or to protect and guard love ones they had left behind

After spending alot of time traveling around to haunted places here and there I have learned a few things. namely that most places that are haunted aren't lol. of the ones that are a good 95% are just spirits that have not passed on so to speak and the other 5% are things that I really have no explanation for. but for the most part ghosts are just spirits that are there for some reason or another. some my just be psychic impressions (think a tape playing in a loop) and others are more free for who are trying to right some wrong or watch over some one they cared about in life. of course you also have the not so nice ones. but those are a completely different story and are much more rare

i have seen and heard "ghosts" for as long as i ca remember - i was just born that way i guess. there has never ben a question in my mind that they exist - but what they are? i think we all find it comforting to believe that something lives on after our physical death.

i am particularly interested in travelling spirits though - there are so many tales of phantom hitchhikers, or phantom vehicles. there is even a well documented case of a commercial jet being haunted by a pilot who died in a crash on another flight. i think travelling spirits are the remnants of a desperate urge to reach that unreached destination that was so tragically interupted.

Ghosts are the dead who dont cross over for some reason or another. Spirits are the dead who have crossed over, they just return for some reason for a limited amount of time.... But to ask if they are good or evil.... The question is null and void.... They are just like people, some good some bad.

Ghosts or spirits I believe in. Yes, I think it is entirely possible for individuals to linger here after death, as ghosts or spirits. Maybe it is the old cliche of unfinished business or perhaps there is something or someone that the dear departed cherishes so much he/she simply cannot let go.

I think most of us on this site believe that there is something out there that sometimes touches our lives. We sense them...some of us even have seen them or had communication with them one way or another. But why they are here?....why some of us can see them and others don't?...I believe the ideas said by all above me cover all the bases.

i wouldnt exactly say 'walk' the earth. but there are many reasons why spirits or other such beings exist. u may have already listed 1 or 2 but reasons are various. from protecting to teaching, guiding, misleading, haunting, learning. thier reasons for being varies

to my experiance ghosts communiate with us in varies ways apart from the common things ppl say like noises etc i belive the communicate with us in sensitive way in whihc they make us dream. abo tham and there stories.

Anything is possible. It is possible that they are ghosts out for revenge, it is possible they are spirits. I have heard and seen the paranormal go after someone and I have also seen and heard of the reverse. Where the paranormal is friendly and tries to save a person or thing

I believe there is energy left behind since energy never dies, just changes forms -- I believe ghosts would besomething like that. Ever walk into a room and you feel an electric presence but nothing is on? Or you feel eyes on you but you're alone? I feel like those the times there may be "something" I just rdon't acknowledge them and it stop.

I think that ghosts, like vampires, cannot be proven or dis-proven. You either believe in them or you don't; it's a faith sort of thing.

I agree with many that say ghosts are here to guide people or didnt finish some things when they were alive and so on. And I feel the same way, you either believe in them or you dont. I happen to be somewhat sensitive to ghosts.

all of my life i have heard the screams for help from millions of the dead. i feel there pain. i have seen things that i can not explain in terms of being rash. all i know is that ghost and spirts are very much real. belive what u will all i know is what i belive. and to my knowledge ghost are very much real

I have heard of spirits that have haunted planes. They stay on the plane, still trying to get to their destination.

that is a real good question...ive been doing paranormal studies for the past 17 years...ive not seen spirits guiding humans for revenge but it could happen...especially if the spirit is a family member talking to some one that is succeptible to cause violence over the spirit or fear of what could happen if they dont.

K, I have no idea if some one has already stated this because I didn't read all of the posts but here's my view.

There are two planes of existence. One that we are on now and the other is the spirit plane. They are basically them same except that ones living the other is not but they exist at the exact same time. Ghosts or whatever you want to call them do not always know they are dead, so in their "minds" they see things as they were when they were alive, those that do know they are dead see what we see. So when they see what we see they are upset because the truth has been revealed and now some one else is living in their home and someone elses stuff is where theirs should be hence the reason why we have things fly off shelves for no reason. Other ghosts that know the truth don't mind they choose to observe or be helpers to us. Those that can see ghosts are more in touch with who they are and they except things as they are therefore to have a ghost appear to them is no big deal because thats just happens. What we think of as ghost may not be though. People wh o have been murdered or what not may have left behind a "memory" so to speak, so we see them play the same scene if you will over and over again that is not a ghost but an energy imprint. Ghosts move and change things or talk to you. There are two different types of ghosts: Manevolent and Benevolent. Manevolent ghosts are just there they may play tricks on you or follow you, knock things off, etc they usually wont harm you. The benevolent ghosts are the one that are people who were evil when they were living and they want to keep on doing their evil deeds so they are still around or they may be someone who was killed and their pissed or they may be a family member that in life searched for the killer of a friend or family member and in the death continue to do so. These are the ones that cause harm any way they can. These are the ones that you want to watch out for.

well that depends on if the spirit is repetative or a roamer...repetative will always be the same no matter what...but as for a roamer a rougue they can change their outlook on anything...

That is a very good question. I tend to believe that spirit can still feel emotions even in non-corporal form. but, it is just my opinion.
