i think that they are real...in the bible it mentions dragons...they have found bones of what could be dragons...u already know what i think but what about u

The scaled creature? Yes, I believed they once existed. Metaphoricly speaking, yes I belive that the term "dragon" is the best way to describe someone on the inside. That is as far as I will get into that, for my own personal reasons.

I also like to think that they are real.

But you could interperate the Bible dragons metaphorically, such as the 'Great Beast That Is', to indicate a being of great power, rather than a physical 'animal'.

But I like Kimodo Dragons as the best living representation of them. I can't yet find anything which convinces me that winged beasts like those still exist, or even existed in human times.

I've once before suggested that the skeletons found, might have been dinosaur bones mistaken for such creatures, since they do fit quite well the desription.
Imagine scholars finding such artifacts centuries ago, before paleontology was developed as a science...

once a long time ago. there were dragons. but they died out along time ago. there are to many similarities in to many cultures for them not to have once existed. of course they could also be behind the couch.

I think dragons have existed just like the dinosaurs. If there were big creatures like those, large and could fly, then it only makes sence that they would have been around.

I have also seen a report on the Discovery channel where researches and scientists and such have found a real dragon intact, frozen in ice that they had found in a cave. They found stab wounds, remains of human bones, and broken swords. They found ways that the dragon would indeed be able to fly, regardless of it's weight, and blow fire due to chemicals found in it's body and extra chambers.

Also the way I see it is there are dragon tales and legends all over the world; different but all dragon. So where do they get these tales? From America to Asia and small islands there has been something of dragons or sea serpants (which were said to be an early form of dragon before it evolved to live on land and it's wing-like fins became large wings for flight).

I love dragons and strive to learn all I can. I believe that anything may be possible and if you ask me, I think there may be something behind that "Lock Ness Monster (Nessy)" myth... *wink* ;) lol

Yes i belive they existed, pity they don't anymore...but hey that's just my opinion...then again i do belive in fairies... lol ok ok i'm geting out of point....

Oh, and futhermore, don't forget our modern dragons those, as was mentioned, the kimodo dragons as well as the crocodile and alligater. Scaley creatures with long jaws and razer teeth. Could they have possibly stood up like the T-rex? Or begin to sprout wings to fly like the raptors' "supposed evolution" into birds of prey? But it be only creative thinking. It gets your mind going, nevertheless...

vampirefreakshow made a good point...if dragons did not exist then how did so many differant cultures have dragons in them? true they are differant but nonetheless they are still dragons aren't they

I have always believed they exist. I will continue to believe they exist and evenually science will prove it

I do not believe that dragons exist in present times, but as for the past, prehistoric days, I believe so. As mentioned above, there are to many cultures and cave drawings to show that once such an animal existed in their life times. Maybe not many by the time humans were able to express themselves so, but still.

One can of course never be sure, but I choose to believe dragons, whether physical or ones existing on a plane far above ours, have interacted with humans before. We as a race seem to be so captivated by the mere mention of their name, I know for myself it stirs up a few emotions that few other words can. I find it comforting to believe that they do still exist somehow in the universe.

I am assuming you are refering to dragons from legend i.e. fire/ice breathing, acid spitting, etc. I believe they did once exist, but no longer do in this physical realm. I also believe they were intelligent creatures and that their souls are immortal, and can be contacted and communicated with by mediums and/or through astral travel/on the astral plane.

I think dragons exist in all forms. The small lizards that roams our lands or cross our paths, the ones in our hearts that tell us to fight when we are confronted, and the one, Draco, the constalation, that looks on in it's glimmering ocean from the sky...

I believe that they did exist. Lizards are related to them but in the lowest forms.

I believe that dragons exist but perhaps not in the "flying around, burning villages, kidnapping young maidens and hoarding treasure" sense. For all we know, they may have evolved into small creatures or they may cross over into this dimension from another.

Too many stories exist around the world for them to be purely fiction and each nation has a different idea of exactly what a dragon is.

Even if you don't believe they are real, they will always exist in people's heart and minds.

And remember, you may not believe in dragons but they believe in you.

Evolution is always an option. Those mythical dragons even now may be all among us, but in different form. However, not everyone believes in evolution...

i do believe that they exist and that thier souls are immortal and some have been reborn into human bodies and that they will show themselves again in the future

As with most mystical creatures, it's always nice to believe in their existance. However, I don't nesscisarily believe that they are around in our plane of existance, but I've read one to many books on the astral planes, and I've heard of people having some form of contact through that medium.

dragon are a chines myth and they think they exists personly i think that they might be looking into the old hisdtoryof animals we find that many reptils used to fly therefore is not inpossible.

I too believe Dragons existed in Earth's past, too many stories exist around the world for it to all be make believe. All we have left are lizards and the other creatures already mentioned. If they are on another plane, I would really like to visit there someday. Although I'd probably be eaten quickly.

i suppose it depends on what you mean by dragon. its like saying, did Cleopatra ever exist, or did Elvis ever exist. there must have been something real for the myths and legends to have been built on, but as the myths grow, each personhas added their own interpretatio, and their own idea of what a dragon is.

the name dragon, comes from draco, or drake - which at one time was synonamous with prince. in fact, the name Dracula actually means "Son of the Dragon" (contrary to popular myth, Tepes was not his real name, but a nickname which means impaler).

could there have been a race of reptilian or reptile like people who ruled over mankind? maybe not all the dinosaurs died out - maybe the inteligent ones evolved, until they looked pretty much the way humans look now - though more powerful, far more intelligent, and with special abilities. I think maybe in the bible they were talking about the dinosaurs. As for if they really exsist to be logical I would have to say no. A smaller version of the less than fiery creatures though they are still around today having evolved over time and lost some of the charactreistics they once needed to survive.

Since scientists have already found fossils and bones of animals not living, I see no reason not to discredit the existence of dragons. Evolution has already shown us the changes a species take on constant changes in structure and thought patterns through time...

Perhaps there are such things as "dragons". The bones could also be fossils from the Jurassic Period and could be a long lost line of the Dinasour. You never know. I don't personally believe anything that the bible teaches. But Dragons? Hmmm, It could be possible.

I believe there are multiple species that once went by the name dragon. Some of their descriptions are just too dissimilar. However, I do believe that, if they still exist, they are most certainly on another plane of existance. Perhaps they always were . . .

His name was Vlad Tepes. The Dracula was his nick name. His father was the leader of a special group of warriors. They call themselves the "Dracul" which means dragon/s. Vlad was given the nickname "Dracula" because, well obviously, he was the son of a man in the Dracul.

i personally know several dragons and have fought a couple. yes there are real and they will show themselves in due time

Yes I believe the existed at one time but are now extinct. I am not sure if the existed as the stories as legends tell or if they were smaller and as the stories got passed down the dragon of the story got larger.

I believe that there is a possibillity that the dragons existed. I do not see why not.

Maybe a subspecies of the dragons still exsist somewere in a place where no man had not yet set foot.

there are kimo dragons today... i dont think fire breathing creatures ever walked this earth. the closest thing to the image conjured by the term dragon would be a dinasour.

I believe that dragons still exist. They remain hidden, whether they are hiding in distant places or existing on another plain, I'm not sure, but they do exist. Just because we can't see them doesn't mean they are not there. They are highly intelligent. They know that if they were out in the open some morron would kill them.

It is my personal belief that dragons did and still do exist, just in secret. I heard somewhere they have never fully explored the Amazon jungle, perhaps some live there, or maybe up through the Ural Mountains, which are in the western part of Russia.


This same belief I apply to true to life leviathans that live at the bottom of the ocean, because anything could live anywhere, and it is just a matter of looking deep enough, be it with robotic submarines, skilled mountaineers (if seeking creatures that may indeed dwell in the mountains of this world) or just about any other kind of local environment expert you could imagine.


One thing that just as they say now, popped into my head is the notion of some sort of Antarctic Ice Dragon. Farfetched as it may seem, but the continent is very much difficult to traverse, without absolutely abundant supplies, and even then, there are no guarantees, (as with any expedition). It would be fitting that if the theory that the Loch Ness Monster is indeed an Elasmosaur or Pleisosaur, perhaps there maybe a few denizens that we are unaware of in the Arctic Circle and near Antarctica, or anywhere in between.

All " myth" is based on fact.

A few months ago The Discovery Channel actually had a program on dragons. The layed out a scenario where dragons existed. I came in in the middle of it and at first I thought they had found the ramins of a dragon that had somehow been preserved. The show was that good! Needless to say no dragon (at least the way we are speaking of dragons)remains have been discovered

I believe once they were in existance but mother earth has changed so much they became extinct.

Like many of the others have stated, I do believe that at one time dragons did exist. I believe that they came along after the dinosours, but like the dinos, they too became extinct shortly after the beginning of their existance. (By shortly I mean on a larger scale of time and not a couple of years...)

in the entire realm of human understanding, there are many creatures and beings that have been thought of as myth and legend, but most of these can be found in so many parts of the globe, many of these legends are traced back to roughly the same time frame in completely different areas of the planet - too far from each other to have been passed as stories from one society to another. The basis of many of these legends and myths are facts that have since been shrouded in lore to make them seem unbelievable now. So in short ~ yes they once did exist, just maybe not in exactly the same form as we imagine today.

Of course they exist. their only remaining family line is the flying lizard at this point, i dont know exactly what made the rest of them die, it was probably humans. But lizards fly. its the same as a modern day dragon, after all the ecological damage and overhunting.

I would say at one time, because I think it highly interesting that many different cultures in no contact with eachother at all came up with some type of dragon.

As for today? No, not really. Although I have actually talked to people who say they are dragons. Literally. Like they turn into big, scaly, flying creatures sometimes.

I have draconic blood in my veins... Some people think that I am crazy but if you look at history, those who were concidered crazy often turned out to be right.... Dragons exist on every level of existance, or they once did... Dragons on the physical plane are no more... Knights and crusaders from long ago made sure that the dragons of this plane are no more.... They left this plane for their own safety because they are gentle by nature and do not like fighting....

lol I agree with Aoibheal. "Look around you." They may not ALL be the dragons that you hear in tales, see in myths, but they are nevertheless a dragon on your path... Not all dragons are in legend...

I watched a special about dragons on discovery science and the conclusion they came to was basicly that ancient peoples finding dinosaur bones lead to the legends of dragons. They also showed some ancient incan pottery with designs that look like dinosaurs.
