I've been a sang vamp since I was 13, and it is entirely correct that it is a risk, thats why any intelligent donor or drinker would test every 6 months, have those records available to any takers, and would also build a trusting relationship with each other. No, I don't think the taking of blood is definitively linked with sexuality, to me it's more of a bond in friendship. After bonding to a person, I've often had psychic ties to them, tho it can wear out if feedings are not kept up. Blood drinking is something that I think can mean many things depending on the circumstance. With a lover it could be erotic and romantic. With a donor whom you aren't haveing a relationship it could be a bonding experiance for friends or even an event enjoyed like going out for an entire weekend with a friend you haven't seen since high school mostly energizing, and dependednt yet always a good experiance. And a few drops between friends could be a mix of emotions.
