When I was eight years old, an elderly uncle of mine who I used to visit, passed away suddenly. He was quite old, around 85 or so. He had always sat in this big, oak rocking chair by the window of his 2nd, floor apartment so he could watch the street below. The night he died, his
wife didn't come home until late after playing bingo at The Legion. She found him dead in his chair. After the funeral, my grandparents got the chair and put it in our den, which as one room away from where I slept. The third night that the chair was in our house, I woke up abruptly in the wee hours of the morning and heard a chair rocking! At first I was of course, terrified, but I had to see for myself if what I thought I heard was real.
I crept slowly out of my bed and peeked around the corner of the doorway to our den. Enough light was coming in through
our den window for me to see that the chair was indeed rocking back and forth! I immediately got back into bed and huddled under the covers, sleeplessly until morning! I tried telling my grandparents about this and they only admonished me for being foolish. It happened again the next night, and for three more nights thereafter. It was my only true experience with anything connected with the Paranormal, and I never forgot it!
That must have been frightening for a child to digest. I have also encountered the infamous rocking chair at my Grandparents house. My Grandfathers parents lived there and died there. There was this old, sturdy rocking chair that I could hear rocking while everyone was asleep. Both myself and my Grandparents saw it rocking also. It was a normal thing to us, but then, this was a big old farm house. We were used to Grandpas parents hanging around!!

I never had rocking chair experiances, but I had many others. The sound of a person walking up and down the basement steps, the cd player being on repeat and randomly going to the previous song, the garage door opening and closing even after it had been unplugged, footsteps in the house.... For some reason it never bothered me. I always saw the man, and still to this day can when at my mothers.
I have never experienced the rocking chair.. But I have heard people walking through my home ever since I was a child. I have had something follow me and move everywhere i have moved to... But I have also heard someone (male and female) calling my name.. I have also seen someone ( male and female) standing in my room.. I have even felt someone touch me several times...
wow! i think i have come in some sort of contact with the paranormal but it has been more subtle than that.
as samll child its sead that we are more open to that kind of things, for the older we get the more that doors closes, cuze of are teachings and who we hang around. and what kind of a concetion if anyto that person...also if you have seers as there called in your blood line.
i ws close to my greatgrand father and when he died 4 days after my 11th b-day i could hear him still out in his shop around 12 to 1 in the morring. i never feared the sound for a a younger child i saw this and more, but never fear it.
do you still to this day see the chair rock? and after that have you seen anything or heard anything werid like that?
true story well i believe it my dead grand ma gives me hints at what the next day will hold cause i was the only one who loved her and not her money well i did get everything of hers and i was so young everyone just took it anyway so she sends images to me in my sleep so im prepared for the next day
ice thats a sad story luv, people like that need there heds looked at. your not alone my greatgrandfather did wood work, he gave alot to me, but it was taken by peol i never saw before. sad little world anit it?
It was strange when my mother died. I was not living at home at the time. The night she died I had a bad dream about moving out of the place I was in and to go back home so I did that and I felt alot safer with her looking out for me.
My mother and father are now gone and I still live at home. They are watching over me now.
It probably was your grandfather. Saying hi im still here
I've had a lot of experiences like that
It's scary when you're little because you don't know what to make of it
Hell- sometimes its still scary
It was probably you uncle letting you know he was ok. I had the same experience when my mom died. Nic nac falling of the shelf , the sound of pots and pans , the stereo turning on . I may not have had the rocking chair but I had a creaking bed and other experiences.
my stepgrandmother she loved me, use to sing to me and my brother all the time, know my brother hears her singing at night, but i cant. werid how you can hear one thing and someone you know cant. but then turn around you cant hear what they can?
wonder whats going on with that kind of thing.
that would have scared me when i was a kid. my mother has had alot of run-ins with spirits. she also knows a couple of gentlemen that have ghosts that follow them or come to them. its really creepy to me. i've had two incidents happen to me. First one was there was a butter knife on the counter. not even close to the edge that fell off one night and was standing stright up and down on the floor. The next incident was when i was in the shower. I always lock the door so i know nobody was in there but there was a shadow in there with me.
That is a powerful experience indeed. I've heard a few superstitions about rocking chairs but I don't think they apply to your situation since it was so long ago. That is really interesting. You're lucky to have actually seen it too. Not many people can truthfully say they've seen that.
I've only heard people walking up the stairs in my grandfather's old house when I was little.
well this is hardly a good story. When dealing with ghosts and demons every day you don't get scared. You just get aware of what is truly around you. Always watching for the next one to attack.
...dimmugorgoroth you have to be kidding. Not only was the person who told the story 8 years old at the time when the story took place, but not every encounter with the supernatural involves unearthly weapons, fighting, and staying on your toes. Sounds more like someone's been watching too much Constantine.
i had an experience like that. but it was only a year ago. my father, who was the one who died, used to always sit with me in our garage. he sat in a wooden lawn chair, while i sat on a stool. he would always tap his fingers on the side of the chair. and after he died for about a week striaght, i would go sit in the garage alone, and i would hear the sound of his fingers tapping the chair.
My mom just scared the crap out of me and my wife with a story about me when I was around 4 yrs old. She said we used to live in this house and everyday I would tell her I saw a man walking around with blood running down his face coming from a hole in his forehead. I do not remember this and I'm glad I don't lmao. Guess I was too young to remember now.
like my plant i had once... i used to move by it self in a closed room with closed windows. then later it stoppes and instead my tv or music volume changed up and down by it self. also expirienced weird language been whispered right beside me where i could feel the breathe of someone who i couldn't see. somebody called my name once in a place with no people except myself. and very often i think i feel or see things, which wouldn't belong in the room i'm in or this world
ive had some of the experiences everyones mentioned ive had the footsteps, the voices, and the rocking chair, but ive also seen like all the time a shadow at the corner of my eyes at all times of day even in a brightly lit room
He must have missed rocking in his chair. I haven't had the rocking chair thing happen to me, but I've had numerous other encounters.
I have have from family of things such as that....It must have scared you bad enough for you to still think of it.
That is some story! I have heard of things like that happening to others, but I have never experience anything like that. At least you know what or who the spirit is :)
Seems he was not ready to leave you all just yet, and went to where he felt comfort , and or the familier.
wow that remeinds me of feeling the presance of my mother in the room she died in the house my dad and I used to live in. No matter what that room was warm even through wenter and we didn't have central heating or nothing.
i've never had a rocking chair experenice, but my house was built over a grave site, and a dead body was placed in the crawlspace under my house. and every night u can hear the stairs creak as someone walks up them, and weird things always happen in our toolshed which is where the entrance to the crawlspace is located.
wow that was ur grandfather for sure. jus sitting in his chair where he was most comfie. i have had experiences like that one as well. sometimes it happens only when someone close to u dies. other times its ppl you dont even know. *hugs* sorry to hear about the death of him.
That must've been hard for you. First to lose your grandfather, then to be frightened of the unexplained, and then to top it all off when you got the guts to tell your parents to have them admonish you... Well, I believe you. I've seen things like that before & it's scary as hell to me even as a "grown-up".
I've never really believed in ghosts or the paranormal as a young boy, but now that I am older, I have experienced things that I cannot explain.
1) The day my ex's dad past away, I was to attend the funeral. However on my way to this odd location, I got lost. However, I did find another graveyard where his wife's family was buried so I drove there. I got out of my vehicle and walked amongst the tombstones and found the relatives. I just sat there and wondered where my ex's dad was being buried at. Well, I thot of a few places and that didn't help. Well... as I walked back to my car, I called out loud to my ex's dad and asked him to show me the way to where his body was right then. Well, it wasn't 1 minute after I was in my car when I could smell a seriously strong odour of cigarette. Since I didn't smoke, nor was I near any possible source of cigarette smoke, I was kind of amazed. See, my ex's dad was a chain smoker and had passed away at the young age of 52 from fluid in the lungs [caused by the medications the doctors had him on for an earlier work related accident]. So I figured that if the paranormal was possible, then this would be how I would recognize my ex's late dad. I don't know how, but I just drove on down the road as if I knew where I was going. And sure enough after a couple miles and a few turns, I was there. To this day I still smell cigarette smoke when I am in his house, but it only comes and goes. It stays for only about 5 minutes or so then completely vanishes. I eliminated the windows, coz where I smell it in the basement, the windows do NOT open. The cigarette smell is located to a certain spot in the room and goes away again in a few minutes. Personally, I look at it as someone watching over me, making sure I am OK. And leading me in the right direction.
2) I've had things go missing, only to find them in plain site in other places in my house, when I know I have not touched them. Or I have looked for stuff only to find them in plain site not where I put them, but where I could have easily spotted them had I personally put them there. Just weird stuff like that I just cannot explain. I do believe I have guardian spirits watching over me. :)
Mine wasn't a good experience...lived in a house with a male ghost who made it very clear that he didn't want to share his home. Stuck doors, things moved, things broken, menacing feelings...pure unadulturated fear...I refused to stay longer than about 2 months...
My grandfather died before i was bornand he haunts the house in the MA where he died. doors slam in the middle of the night, you hear a hammer sometimes and you hear his riding boots across the floor of the kitchen. i am used to it now but when it all first started it was very unsettleing. but now we talk to him and tell him it is night time and we are trying to sleep. he usually stops after we say that.
what a great story...it had to have been scary at the time but very neat to know now as an adult that a beloved family member never truly leaves you....I only wish that I had something as interesting to tell....I know that I am open to it and I have the gooseflesh feelings from time to time but never know why
Wow! That would have freaked me right out.
I live in part of a 110 year old home. I wish I could say anything really interesting happened, but so far nada. You can 'feel' the age an previous tenants perhaps, but nothing outside the normal imprints of habitation
When my cousin died, I knew it when it happened. It was this feeling that I couldn't shake. It seemed like I heard her scream out my name. I thought about her alll day and was getting the feeling that I would never see her again. I was thrown when my parents told me when I got home from school that day.
just last night I was sitting in the living room watching tv my kids were in bed so I knew no one was up when the cupboard door opened up and a plate was taken out of the cupboard and put on the counter. It was freaky cause I sat there and watched it happening then I went into the kitchen and no one was in there and the only plate that was on the counter was the only black plate I have that is always on the bottom of the pile of plates I have in the cupboard. I don't know who it was or why they took the one plate down but some spirit did it cause when I was watching there was no one holding the plate as I watched it being put down on the counter.
i have had this experience quite often since my younger brother died 9 years ago and still do have these experiences to this day but as an adult i find them comforting knowing that he is around still :)
just 3 days ago i herd a music box that was in a closet about 15 or 20 feet down the hall and in a separate room. The music box is in a stuffed bear that my fiancees ex husband gave to their son. Her ex husband owned the bear himself as a small child but Thats as far as the things history goes.
But the music box has been broken since my fiancees ex husband was a child......
I think the area I live in is prone to these type of things, or unexplainable occurances. At night you can stand on my porch and hear babies crying in the woods and the sound has made just about everyone Ive showed it to cry uncontrollably. Its no big sobbing or anything, just most people cant help but to cry, and everyone has always felt really sad when they hear it. The land we live on has been owned by my fiancees family as far back as anyone can trace (even the state has no records of it being owned by any other people). I think that may have something to do with it.
she also has a mirror that was her grandmothers (it is actually still in the framing that connects it to the dresser----broken) the thing is the only thing here that creeps me out. it seems to make everyone look diffrent than they really are. It makes me look like i have a high up forehead and slender boney cheeks, and my eyes.......well to say the least its weird and the mirror across the room dosent do it. the thing has no curvature to distort images reflected upon it, i even checked myself.
~it's spooky~
the only times something weird happen to me was when i heard someone was walking in the kitchen since my room is in the basement but when i went to look no one was in there. mind u my sis + niece and mom were all "dead" sleeping since nothing can wake them up.
the other time was when i moved into my bf's (now ex) apt in franklin,ma every once in a while i heard this loud bang coming from the middle of the living room. i thought i was crazy until my then bf heard it so didnt the old woman down stairs did too. she even called the cops on us thinking it was us doing that noise but it wasnt. the bang didnt go away until i did a spell to rid of the demon or spirit causing this noise. the noise finally stopped and all 3 of us were happy again.
my sister had an exp. with a spirit when she was younger and before i was born. her friends and her saw it sitting in a chair then standing up looking at them. but this was at the same time my sis and her friends were playing with that dam oujia (sp?) board it said on the board to stop playing with board and leave. she contacted our late uncle who died in a car crash on halloween the year before i was born. she saw the spirits face and it really looked like the late uncle she swears to this day. but i seriously knew our late uncle wouldnt like her to be messing with oujia board so she hasnt touch that board ever since then.
Wow!! that sure would scare a kid of that age! I have had that type of experience in the old house I used to live in with my dad. I do not think these ghosts were nice ones, either. :/ I guess I never really found out what happened in the house in the past. I have had a few times where the chair in the kitchen would roll towards me!! I was only about 7 years of age then too! So, it was not a very good experience for me to deal with! ;)lol
Wow! I agree it was your uncle saying goodbye. I had a lot of experiences when I was younger but not recently. When my grandfather died of cancer. I woke up at 4am throwing up andin pain through my whole body. It all went away about 6am and 15 mins later my dad got the call that my grandfather had passed. I cried the whole day but I know he still watches over me:) If you want to know about my other more scarier experiences im me:)
when i was 10, a fellow classmate in my 6th grade class had died of electricution on the railroads around the corner from my house....me and 2 of my friends back then use to run the halls of the school at about 5-6 at night....one night as we where running around on the 3rd floor, we hear banging along the lockers behind us....there was no one on the floor but us......then we heard the fire escape door slam open, but there was no one there....
our homeroom class was on the floor on that side where we heard and saw that all go on....he figured it was him letting us know he was there......
Welcome to thje world of the believers, my friend.I have never seen the rocking chair, but have indeed seen my departed grandfather, complete in his favorite overalls and hat.
it will burn into your mind as a child and you will never, ever forget it.
that is very strange indeed. i'm not sure what advice i could give you on that. but you told the story quite well :)
quite offten children are more abl eot experience these things .. in my opnion... becasue they have not been taught they should not do so. In most families it is seen as foolishness or worse. I was a very lucky child and it was seen as a good thing and somehting to encourage and help develop so that i could learn to deal with what I saw and how to control it as much as possible.
from what i read it seems ore as if the loved ones were simply checking in to let you know they were fine. not trying to frighten or anything. I can understand such an experience would be terribally frightening for a child.. and being told you were wrong or foolish would tend to make it even more upseting as it happened again.
One reason that you may not have ever experienced anyhitng else is that you were told you were being foolish.. in effect being taguht not to admit that it happened even to yourself. Sadly that is very hard to overcome.
Bless you my friend, that must have been difficult. But in my mind, I think it was yer Grandad just checking in and saying he was around and it was ok*smiles*
wow that must have been something difficult to overcome.
ive had many experiences with the paranormal as i was growing up... when i was little i kept hearing a baby cry but we live way out in the woods with only a few neighbors n no children
The night my mother died it was said that she visited my aunt and her best friend and my cousin. I suppose she made her rounds. The natives believe that after a person passes that they roam the earth before their journey home. We are not to speak there name so that we don't hold them back from going.
I have posted before the house I grew up in was built on the site of a civil war cemetary I have had many experiences the one that sticks in my mind is the woman that flung herself from the upstairs window every night. she would go up the stairs and run across the hall and disappear out the window every single night of my life. only once did it change and there was a man outside the very last time I saw her. I moved out the next day. he held out his arms and she went to him and that was the last I ever saw of her
Very frightening for a small child. Perhaps your uncle was not ready to move on to his new form, or perhaps he felt you needed protection. Any number of possibilities are likely. If it stopped after a couple of days, hopefully your uncle was able to accept the end to old body and began to seek a new one.
He simply loved his chair and didn't want to leave it.
where Ilive now, the heater gets suddenly up and to maximum and no one is touching it, its been hapening since I discovers some things about the place, and at my mom,s house there is this room where I ear curses, bitching and threat I cant even go in at times, it gets almost physical towards me.
I've had a similar experiences that i can't explain. but i find it funny. ok, i always have the door shut in my room weather im in it or not. and every time i do laundry or come home from school and am carrying my book bag and groceries. when ever it is physically impossible for me to open my bedroom door the door knob it always turns and my door swings slightly open. this probably happens once a month. i wouldn't think much of it except the fact that the doorknob turns by it's self. im not sure why honestly all i know is that its strangely helpful. i don't know much about this house cuz i've only lived here 2 years.
It is quite common for a spirit to be connected to something that was important in their life. It seems as though your uncle spent a lot of time in that chair. So, it is understandable that he would return to it after death.
It must have been cool and pretty scary at the same time
I had a similar experience with a coffee mug and a coffee table. In my first apartment an old man had died and his wife was the one who rented me the apartment. She told me to be careful with the table because that's where her husband would sit every morning to drink his coffee. Well one day I had my coffee at the table and I got up to get some cereal... when I came back my cup was moved. I thought I was losing it so I simply moved it back and continued on with my morning. But a few months later it happened again and this time I saw the cup slide across the table. I asked my land lady and she said that it was alright because that's where he used to sit to drink his coffee. The rest of the time I lived there I used to do it just to show my friends.... and the old man never let me down!
I have had 2 experiences with ghosts, but I didn't know either one of them in life. Had I known either, I'm sure I would have been more comforted by the experiences.
i have had a couple of experiences just in the last few weeks.
Payne, i cant believe you stayed for 2 whole months!!!!
Baolo: I believe that not all spirits go directly to their resting place, and some may reach a state of limbo. Perhaps this was what happened in the case of your grandfather..
It would hav been quite an experience for such a young child; i may have attempted to make contact with him during these sightings....i am very surprised you didnt...
Wow what an experience for a child... When i was working i saw my great gpas ghost walking around the store about 3 times in 1 week. Ever since then i havent seen him since. On occasions when i lived with my gparents their phone used to ring once then would stop. It started happening a lot after my great gma died & i think it was her way of tellin us that she would always be around watching over us.....
When we went to the funeral of my great gma we were all standing (the older generation were sitting) & it was sweltering outside. All of a sudden a nice breeze hit for quite a while to cool everyone down. While that was happening i stepped back about 2 feet to be alone but when i did there was no breeze at all. When i asked a few family members they all said that they felt the breeze but didnt when they moved around or moved back a little bit. That was my granny for ya, always looking out for you & putting others first no matter what! Even from the grave she was still thinking about everyone elses welfare :)
Wow what a storey it seems your grandfather may have stayed behind perhaps .. It must have been very scary for you indeed. Do you still have the Chair ?
at one place I use to live it was a form I saw and I saw it only once cause I was earing my son crying and wondered what it was so I aks outloud to see what he was seing (he was 3 at the time) And what I saw scared the shit out of me, I dont know why but I when to my son,s bedroom and had the urge to bust a wall open, in the closet, weirdest part is that the previous owner of th ehouse had moved this house from it original palce and it was an old house that his grandparants had lived in, an dhe was about 60 or 70 at that time, the house had 2 parts one new and one old, the "thing" showed up in th eold part , after I buster the wall of the closet and repair with new material, my son was never harrass again.
I do believe that really happened one time when I was little I saw my dead grandfather a couple of times in the strangest places and as you sd about th chair I actually say himm sitting in a chair at my grandmothers house and before he died he was bed riddin and his bed would always be messed up in the morning and my grandmother would always blame me but i knew that I did not do it
Talking about grandmothers, my friend said her grandmother who has passed away keeps appearing at the bottom of her bed at night. When she awakes she is always there. I don't know if she is spoofing or on the jar.
I can share one that happened to my eldest daughter when she was about three.
I could hear Elyse messing about in her room, it was late, around 11:30 p.m. I called down to her to shush and get to sleep. She hollers back up "I can't mommy. The man won't stop knocking!"
Needless to say I went straight down to her room with a bat. Lol. I get to her room and there's no one there. So I asked her where the man is. "In the wall" she replied. I asked her how she knew he was in the wall, and she looked at me like I was completely daft and said "'Cause that's where he's knocking from"
I asked her to show me, so she knocks on the wall. Tap, tap, tap. And what do I hear but the very same back. My eyes about fell out of my head and I had to pick my jaw up off the floor. You see, Elyse's room was in the basement. The walls were solid concrete with drywall over top. It was a single dwelling home. Not attached to anyone else.
I proceeeded to tap on the wall, and receive the same tappings back. I carried this on for about five minutes, until I was sure I wasn't crazy. Then I called my husband (ex husband now) If anyone could confirm this it would be him. He didn't believe in any sort of paranormal phenomenon at all. Within the next half hour he had his whole family at my house listening to the "Knocking Man".
He remained there the whole time we lived in the house and communicated with Elyse and I through taps. One for yes, two for no. The only time he got upset was when Elyse asked him if he was dead. Two holes were knocked out of the drywall from the INSIDE. We never mentioned "dead" again.
Whew! I'm so sorry about that!
Wow Ciba, that's crazy! Wasn't your daughter really scared?
Love the story, Ciba...thanks for sharing. Did you ever do research on the house or grounds to learn any history that might explain the phenomenon? Did you ever think to tell a psychic or report it to have it documented?
i grew up in a severly haunted house almost poltegiest type but there was a rocking chair that had spirit all its own it was an antique for the 1800s use to rock and and old woman could be heard humming in the room
im not a big believer in ghosts and all but i suppose its just becuase ive never been through it
Sounds like your grandfather was just letting you know he was still there watching over you...
I've had a million experiences like that...
I love things like that... That creep me out.
It's funny though cause I hate horror movies.
very interesting
how does the memory make you feel now?
it frightened you as a child.. did that change? is there still underlying fear? or is it... something else now?
its very much possible that it was really your uncle. when i was around the same age, i was living with my grandparents in a house that was haunted. some mornings you could wake up to the toilet flushing w/o anyone in there and other mornings you could wake up and pots and pans be strewed everywhere. and nobody have gotten up in the middle of the night to do it.
None of my children are afraid of the supernatural. Things like this happen wherever we go. They're all rather ho hum about it. LOL. When I take photos they go through them on the computer and pick out the pictures that have orbs in them. XD
I once felt a presence choking me in my bed late one night...
I always hoped it was just in my head, but there is always that doubt in my mind that it was indeed really.
*Shiver* Ghosts... bah!
~Sir Jäger
That is scary for a little kid. Well I am not scared of the supernatural. I have growen up around it.
I was a patient in a hospital and one day a lady who was in the ward died. That night I seen a "headless" lady walk around the ward dressed in a theatre gown. The girl in the bed next to me seen it too, and we both ran like hell to get out of the ward. When we got to the bottom we ran into a invisible obstacle and couldn't get past it. It was only when a nurse came out to inquire what the noise was all about that the barrier was lift
I think when a family member or someone connected to your heart crosses over, they,re aloud a certain time to visit those grievin to let them know that everything is ok and they,re at peice.my grandmother died a month ago,my dad(her son)has seen her twice since.when my girl friend died of cancer four years ago,i saw her three different times, one time was when i went to bed,it was the night after the funeral.she appeared and sat beside me,smiled and then vanished.I think its reassurance and proof that love never dies.
Not the rocking chair experience because none of my family members even own one, But i have had experiences with footstpes up in the attic. ALso coming up from the basement floors, the feeling of someones presence when i am alone. (im sure many people get this. when you realize you are alone at home.)and there have been a few other things.
That must have been so frightening, especially at that age too. When I was 8 I used to hear people walking around my floor of the house when I was the only one up there. It's scary when you're so young.
I’ve never experienced anything of the paranormal kind, but my wife has when she was younger. She woke up one night and went to her bedroom window and saw a young boy appear at the edge of their yard, float across the yard and disappear once it reached the other side. She later found out that a boy who used to live there before her family moved in was hit and killed on the street by a passing car.
My mother saw the specter of an elderly man standing at the top of the stairs the every night for 3 nights after her and my dad bought and moved into our house when they first got married. He would stair at them and then he would walk down the stairs. When she woke my father up he would check the house only to find that no one else was there. On the 3rd night he smiled and nodded before going downstairs. To this day she believes it was the spirit of the man who owned the house before them finally approving them as the new owners of his home.
I agree, it must have been terrifying for a child. I have never had that type of experience, however, I have had others. I have seen "someone" lurking around late at night in my house, this is no joke. I have even seen him upclose. One night, he woke me from a dead sleep and scared me half to death. He has a very pale and evil looking face. I know it sounds crazy, but I have seen him and more than once. I have not seen him in a while.
i have never had a rocking chair but if i did i am sure myghostly little friend would have sat in it i had a regular stuffed chair that a ghost in my old house liked to sit in all you see are cowboy boots when he is in it i have seen this and so have several others that have stayed the night at my old house in the morning they ask me usually who wears boots cause i have never told them that the dang place was haunted
i, like many others, have not had a rocking chair expierence. i have been visited by many ghosts though. shortly after my grandmother was burried, we were cleanign out her apartment. we took out all the phones and everything. on our way to lunch my phone rang. it was my grandmothers number.
As long as i can remember ive been able to see paranormal things, my first experience luckily wasnt what taught me to be cautious around anything abnormal.
My first time was when around age 4 i went out to go play outside when the full moon was out and play in the stream that was near the foster home i was living him, i played in the water for about 5 minutes when i saw two kids come walking up along the road, i asked them to come play in the stream with me, they just smiled and came over and we laughed and played, dont know how long i played outside in the water but sooner or later i became tired and that was when they waved goodbye and it was then and there that i noticed that they hadnt said a word to me at all, i then told them that next moon that was out id be here waiting for them and they nodded back at me and continued walking down the road.
After they had gone i went inside and fell asleep and in the morning i was waken up by my younger brother who said who was i talking to at the stream last night, when i told him, he said he had woken up to me playing and laughing and he peeked out and saw me talking and making jokes as if there were people there with me. I told him that there was, but he never believed me, but after that i had companion friends that came to play with me during the full moon.
I do realize that sometimes first encounters cant always become a good experience or whatnot, ever since i was a kid though ive never really been quite alone.
for sure ive learned for certain that no matter what ur experience even if you havent experienced any phenominal things in ur life what has worked best for me throughout all my years being surrounded by unnatural phenoninom is to just listen.
In most cases the dead or spirits want someone just to listen. Its just a matter of figuring out in a quick amout of time of what the spirit needs, unless it be a mean spirit then well best to keep ur distance, they usually only want to vent out their feelings.
It is a common occurrence.
Most things hold a tie to the person.
I mean, if you just died, wouldn't you grip to the one thing that was real for you the most ? every day ? until you could accept your fate ?
Well I've not experienced the rocking chair but I saw something when I was 2-3 years old that didn't scare me then...well not til I was much older and realized the implications...
I was visiting relatives with my family...they lived besides this pretty river...that curved and went somewhere...well I was playing in the mud by the river, yeah I liked mud, and I looked across at this large piece of ice that hadn't melted yet...and on that ice across the river were these two little girls jumping and playing...I'll never forget that they were wearing the same little white dresses and black patent shoes with white bows in their hair...they saw me and started waving at me to come to them...and I wanted to go...but I was stuck...in that damn mud...I could see them still when one of my brothers came to pull me out...they were just standing there watching me leave...weirdness...
thats pretty scary, I dont think that its very common, not that im aware of.
Wow, Baolo this is a really good story, the thing to start a good ghostly horor movie. I'll bet if you put your imagination to that story, you could give Hollywood a run! I loved it. thanks for sharing.
that would make for a good film now that you mention it, thats a great idea.
I've only had light experiences ie..lights getting turned ona nd off when nobody was around..
and the Tv switching channels randomly...
i have a rocking chair experience too - at least i think it was a rocking chair. when i was little, i would often see a shadow on my bedroom wall at night. the shadow was of the upper half of someone , apparently sitting, and rocking back and forth. it kind of reminded me of someone riding a horse, because their hands were held in front of them. at first i was afraid, and frustrated because if anyone else was in the room, it would fade away, then gradually come back once i was alone again. but i saw it almost every night, and when i realised it was just rocking back and forth and not harming me, my fear turned to curiosity. it tried to reason away the apparition by looking outside to see if there was anything nearby that could be casting the shadow - but there wasn't. i would examine the shadow carefully, and saw that it was not a sharp solid shadow, but faint and crazed, as though it was caused by an object made of patterned glass - like a mosaic.
i vaguely remember that sometimes i would watch it for a long time, and patterns would change, and i would see moving images like a cartoon animation, and these would tell me stories - though for the life of me, i cannot remember a single story or image. however, i would often find that in the daytime i would know things without knowing how i knew them. one of these things is that i knew that an old lady had died in that house. i told my parents, and they laughed - until years later when they got the deeds to the house, and discovered that a former tenant - an elderly woman - had died in the property.
i experienced many ghostly things in that house - strange noises, objects moving or even flying on their own, but apart from a letter opener stabbing me in the foot - nothing harmful. there was even one experience that was beneficial. when i was a teenager i once had a badly infected eye which was swollen and painful. during the night, i saw an apparition of an old lady walk up to me and pass her hand over my eyes. i instantly fell into a deep sleep, and awoke the next day with no pain or swelling, or any sign that there had been anything wrong with my eye at all.
i have experience something similar at ma old house we had an old rocking chair that belonged to my great grandmother that moved when nobody was near the thing it always freaked me out
