In my opinion, most of the posts on this thread are all "Monkey see, monkey do". I am not saying that all of them are that way, but a lot of them are. Some of them describe, to the T, the Hollywood depiction vampires,some know not of what they speak, some have not done enough research on vampirism, and others are going by what their friends say they are and who knows if they are or even know if they know what they are talking about. As for me, I have known that I was different since before I could crawl. I could not tell why or how, or even what was causing me to feel that way for the longest time but the feeling was always there. When I 9, my mom and I were in a car accident that left her with two broken legs. I tell you that because my dad was driving over the road and was never home. So, mom with two broken legs, there goes my after school playing in the parks, bike rides all over town, and my playmate for the evening hours until bedtime. Pretty tramatic for a 9 year old who did everything with his mother. That was when I awakened to the nightlife and to the darker side of life. I began seeing things that were not there, hearing things that were not said, and feeling things even when nobody was around. When I tried to tell somebody abou these things, they just stood there and looked at me like my head came off and rotated three times right in front of them. So, from then on, I never bothered to tell anyone anymore and told myself that it was all in my head and that it wasn't actually happening. Eventually, I stopped hearing, seeing, and feeling those things and went on with my life. Then abou four years ago, I hit my thumb with a grinder while it was going full speed in my shop. I stood there and stared at my thmb for what seemed like an eternity because it wasn't bleeding. But, according to my friend who was there, after five seconds the blood began pouring out and I don't know what it was, but it felt like somebody was physically pulling my head down to my hand and there was this booming voice saying "Drink!" and as soon as I did, there was this indescribable rush of feelings, emotions, and I don't even remember what else that just over-whelmed my and everything turned red and the voice was saying "More, more!". The sight to my friend was not unusual because she always sucked the blood from her wounds. But what was unusual to her was when I turned towards and said "More blood" and bit her arm that she put up to push me away hard enough to draw blood and began drinking hers for about five minutes until I basically collapsed to the floor from shock of my wound or something. I did't remember any of that and only know of what happened because she told me afterwards. My friend happened to be gothic and knew of some of the creatures from the dark side of life, so my feeding from her didn't upset her at all especially after I told her that I didn't remember anything except seeing a wall of red and hearing that booming voice saying "More, more". She told me that I was a vampire and at first I denied it, and for the following six months as well, until she called one of her friends to come into town to speak with me about it. I didn't know that she had called him, I didn't know his name or what he was, I didn't know he was flying into the airport, I didn't know that Anne, my friend, wanted me to go over to her house when they got there, I didn't know anything that was going to go on that day. I was at home working in my shop when this uncontolable urge to stop what I was doing, go get cleaned up, and go to Anne's house right away came over me and I didn't know why or how I knew. I got to her house before they got back from the airport and they both got out of the car and she looked at me with this puzzled look and he looked at me then back at her and just nodded. He approached me and said "My name is" and before he could say the first syllobol, I said Rick. Evrything that had happened so far freaked me out so I was all ears. He told me, too, that I was a vampire and everything that had happened to me that told me I was a vampire and I began looking back and realized that he was telling the truth and I couldn't believe that he knew so much about me. From that day forward, I accepted what I was and have been loving everyday more and more. That is why I sit back and laugh or shake my head, sometimes with anger, with disbelief and disgust. I know I will be critized and chastized for saying what I have said about others, but I welcome the challenge of my beliefs and so on from those who will do so. Carpe Noctem
