I always thought they stayed and haunted the place they died in. It's sorta hard to be peaceful after dying in a bad way.
i guess maybe it depends on if they feel they have something unfinished they need to take care of, no matter how they died, if they lived a full life and have nothing left behind wouldnt they still move on?
I've heard a few different ideas. That people don't haunt but depending on how traumatic the event, leave a powerful imprint of the event. Like a tape recording. Or There is individual hauntings, and or poltergeists which I think are multiple entities acting as a single haunting event. I dont know much, I would be interesting to hear from someone who does.
they will stay and hunt till they have been able ot release the pain and then move on.
I've always understood that it depends on whether or not they realize they are dead firstly, and if they have an obligation they need to fulfill also. As others have said...unfinished business.
I have lived in two houses that had bad deaths done in them. both were haunted by the spirits of the dead.
i have had things happen in houses that i lived in where no one had dies, and i have things happen in the house i live in now where someone did die. but she died of old age, not violent or anything and she still is hanging around.
I am not sure exactly what it is that holds a spirit trapped here on our plain after death. I assume it is possible for the spirit to be shocked out of the body in torment causing the plasma or spirit to not be able to move on. But all just theory's of mine. Maybe they stick around because moving on is too painful. who knows :)
it varies, some do cross over, inspite of a violent death. so Im sure why?
As I don't believe in ghosts, spirits, hauntings and the like...I would say no not possible...yet I would also say...IF they existed,it is possible that they would have to have a reason to linger...no matter what is said in movies,TV and ghost hunting shows.
I believe each situation is differerent and it depends on the circimsatnces behind the death of the person
think the spirts will haunt the place cause it there home...
It really depends. Generally a spirit won't move on because 1 - they don't realize they are dead or 2 - they have unfinished business here.
I think one can also choose to stay here and watch over their loved ones.
It depends on how the spirit chooses to view their death. If they choose to accept it and forgive, then they should move on. If they want revenge, then they may make the choice to stay.
I believe that the spirit remains in the place that their human "shell" was killed, yet they may "visit" familiar places to them.
I have heard that it depends on if the person realizes she/he is dead, if it does then it again depends on if there is some unfinished business for it to be completed.
A women's spirit was once wandering near my house, women's who was killed and until it wasn't dealt with, many car accidents took place there. Unfortunately right into the fence around my house.
What I wanted to say was that I have experienced what the energy from ghost can create and what can come out at the end.
I wish I had an answer for you.. i could guess if there was unfinished stuff in her/his life they may haunt .. but if i was a spirit id wonder why i couldnt get any responces to when i speak to some one, no one hears..
I don't think that the way that a person dies would be enough to keep that person someplace if they did not want to stay there. I believe that if a good person that was comfortable with themself died in a bad they could still move on. It is really the choice of the spirit.
I think part of that would depend on the personality of the person who was killed or died in such a way. Do they have a strong mind? Would they want to hold onto life to revenge it or make others see or make sense of it? Or would they want to be free of it? To get away from it and not have to deal with it?
They haunt the place were they died. What I believe is that the ghost stays there and renacts the way that he or she died. I have heard that ghost that died in a bad way turned out to be violent.
I think it depends on the person and maybe the situation.
I dont think it matters if they died in a bad way or not. I think its that they dont realize that they're dead yet or they're trying to hold on to their existance.
spirits are funny they hang around if they have unfinished busniess or they dont know they are dead. guess your question would fall into one of these.
I am wondering how a spirit can actually get revenger simply by lingering in the home they died in...
Also, I have heard that hauntings are not ghosts, but familiar spirits or demons who were there before the person died.
Just a thought...
Rev. Ravyn
it doesn't have to be a horrible death for a persons spirit to stay. my father naturaly died in my house a few years back and his spirit impinited himself on his family so he could move between us and vist us all, but a spirit will stay untill they need to move on,
I beleive that the soul itself seek healing and assistance, once it has ether serve its purpous or find healing, some even stay to seek justice or to make sure justice is done.
I don't believe it matters what caused the death, only that a soul may inhabit the general location where they dropped their body, for an undetermined time after their death. There don't issue a handbook to the freshman dead, so they have no directions on how to proceed to the next place on their journey.
First one must define 'bad way'.
Then the question becomes, was that soul ready to move on or not.
I don't believe in hauntings from dying in a 'bad way' but rather from entities that are not ready to move in to the next dimension for whatever reason.
I will be going by speculation and theory here. As the passers, whether or not the death was caused by horrible suffering, great joy, or immense saddness, does not matter.
If the individual who passed still had something to do, the feeling may still be there, not realizing they died. Thus the haunting. Or realizing they died, and naturally drawn to the "light" or "tunnel", or having hatred or loathing for the "light" or "tunnel" thus shunning one or the other and walking away, mayhaps turning into a shadow entity, or wraith, mayhaps even a poltergeist?
Too bad the only way to ever know these things is to experiance them ourselves. Even Houdini in a seance lexplained there is no escape from death.
As death is the ultimate adventure, the real question is which path would you take if you had the choice? Haunting, shadow, or the "light"?
i always thought that you had a choice to either stay and become a disgruntal sprit or to move on
Could be possible , especially if it was not their time or they had unfinished buisness. Or maybe , if they died so suddenly , they don't really realize it and are in some sort of denial not truly understanding what has happened to them.
It depends on a lot of things. It depends on exactly how they died, who they were in life and other such things.
I think it has alot to do with the situation at the time & the person who dies. If they are ready to go then they may cross over, but if not they may stay and haunt. Or if they feel they need justice for how or why thy died they will stay & haunt.
i've always heard (since my family has been in contact with spirits ) that if someone dies, for example in a car accident, and the death is too violent, they just linger here, and sometimes they dont realize that they're dead....
i strongly believe that in that case, they can't find peace so easily... unless you can someway help the spirit to go to the new plain they belong to....
I think that if the person dies under bad circumstances like, if they were in an arguement with a loved one and were killed in a car accident and happened to be in a very emotional state at the time of their death then yeah I believe that they will not move on, and if their death happens suddenly they may not realize that they are dead.
I lived a long time in the house my grandfather built. He lived a long life, had a loving family and, as far as I know, was relatively happy. He died very suddenly in an accident while doing maintenance on the property. I am fairly sure I have seen his ghost on at least two or three occasions, and have heard footsteps and rapping at various times and places in the house. The time I most vividly remember was when he was pointing toward something in my room, and actually stooped down as if to look under my bed. I have often wondered whether he is lingering and never moved on or, perhaps, did move on but just comes back to visit, and looks for things he remembers or misses.
Or perhaps, he is pointing for a reason, wanting you to find something of importance.
from what i heard, yes they usually haunt the place they died, or the person that caused thier death
my grandmother had passed away in her home and to this day the house couldnt be lived in .. i never new why but later the house was caughjt on fire then tore done.. my family never said why they couldnt live there...
i may need to ask them if they thought the house was haunted or something..
I feel that soul could haunt the place of atragic death or until some intervention allowing that spirit to move on.
I am gonna start this with a discalimer of these are my views and my experience I know not everyone agrees.
I have found that people that die in bads ways or that simply were not prepared tend to linger for a bit. How long seems to depend on how violent... or how strong willed the person was. Yes some people that were killed or along those lines will simply move on at once. But i have found even if tis only a few days or a week they usually linger.
Id like to think you have the choice what to do.
me? id watch over everyone untill i was sertin they would be okay regardless of how long it took before moving on
and if i couldnt move on after id be happy knowing i was there for them.
i believe they would, it is as if they paying back for the lost time they would have
I think that they would stick around because they would be fixated on issues such as what would happen to their loved ones, children etc...now that their gone...
Soulshroude, thank you for the suggestion concerning what my grandfather’s ghost may have been pointing at. I have always looked at it from the perspective of, perhaps, was there something he did not see or could not find, and was looking in the general area? You reasonably perceived that perhaps he saw something – or knew it was hidden – that I did not. It should have been obvious to me, but I must admit that I never really thought of it that way before you suggested it.
One other possibility I have considered is that, my brother found or was given (I am not sure how or by whom) a broken violin my grandfather used to play in his youth. My brother tried to do some repairs to it, and used to keep it encased under my bed. (Lack of good storage space, and I had a downstairs room with fewer variations in temperature and humidity). We stored some guitars there too. Maybe Grandpa just liked music and wanted to play his violin, or wanted me to play the guitar for him. (I used to play a little when I was younger).
One other possibility, I suppose, is that I hallucinated. But it happened so often that I became convinced what I was seeing and hearing was real.
I always thought they stayied and haunted the place they died at till they figureed out they could let go
i suppose if they fel they need to stay they would ,till they finish what neeeds to be done
If some one killed me in a really horrid way i know i would haunt them till the day they died
i think if they had unresolved issues that yes they could stay and haunt the place of their death, untill they become fully at peace.
i always thought that it was if the soul was unpeaceful or just didnt want to pass on that is stayed a haunted
if they had unfinished bussines that they left undid i think they would stay to complete it
i think they haunt the place where they died if they died an especially gruesome or tragic death
FelineDraco hey thats one way of puting it, i personally never thought of it like that..
Unfortunately souls do become trapped between worlds when they die in untimely manner and they are not ready to accept death
I think it depends my brother died in a bad unfinished way but he has yet to send me a message that he is in torment, and it's been 2 yrs.
I believe the spirit has a choice, often it is difficult to find peace if you feel your life was taken too early and they say that the being of your mind know follows you when you pass on. If you’re not ready to go perhaps you would choose to stay a little longer, however I also believe that time for us and time for them passes much differently. They may be lingering around the place of there death for years to us, but perhaps to them it has only been minutes they have lingered. I have also been told of stories where people have communicated with the spirits and told them it was ok to move on and that’s what they needed to hear. Perhaps they needed someone to tell them they had passed on and it is time for them to find peace. Who really knows the truth of it all, to experience it would be the only way to understand what is truly happening. On a more positive note I believe some stay to look after their families and loved ones for a time until they are sure their loved ones are moving on and going to be ok. A guardian angel of sorts watching over the family in the night.
I think it all depends. I know that in a lot of cases it seems that way. But i think that it depends on the spirit, whether it holds the grudge or not or whether it truely is done on this earth
if they left something unfinished i thing they would stay haunt ing the place they dead in
Not neccessarily just because they died a bad way. Unfinished business seems to be the most popular reason why.
I don't know, but I would like to think that they eventually move on to a better place.
it depends on if the soul is a peace with its-self if the soul has no regrets of life or a problem with how they die then yes it would pass in peace
They haunt the place were they died. What I believe is that the ghost stays there and renacts the way that he or she died. I have heard that ghost that died in a bad way turned out to be violent.!!
It would depend on the person and why and how they died..and how the place was for them. Not all hauntings are of lost ghosts/souls that have not crossed over, but the actual place and events that happened will recreate like movie stuck on a loop to replay over and over.
Most definitely, if they died in a bad way. A spirit who had his/her life taken violently wasn't ready to die, therefore they will stay where they died. They feel robbed and want to stay.Unfinished business, so to speak, is true.
Yes I think so . Especially if they died in a bad way... Or if they have unfinished business.
It is possible for someone to haunt the place they died if they died in a bad way, but it isn't the only reason a place becomes haunted.
I only think people haunt or come back as ghosts if they have unfinished business. Not because they die a certain way, but die before they finish something.
usually if a person dies with unfinished business they will maintain a spectral form in the area they passed.
Occasionally 1 of 2 things usually happens.
1 you turn poltergeist
2 Quicksilver
pending on which of these you turn depends what the spectral will do
poltergeist, as most know are mischievous ghosts who tries to cause misfortune to those that cross their paths.
as fo QuickSilvers they are the polar opposite they tend to try and protect and prevent harm to those that become under their caring arm and watchful eye.
there is a third option, which is rather rare the spectral is just there in a void upon itself un reflecting anything of either proportion and un able to see anything about it or do anything to its surroundings.
Sadly yes they do stay and haunt the place of death, I guess I would be pretty pissed off too.
i believe it can go either way.. depends on if the soul is ready to move to the next step or not
I think it depends on how well or not well they take it... I think that if after a little while they can let go they will be just fine. So, I'd have to say that it depends ona n individual... after all during life one person may take something that happens to them a lot better than someone else who had the same thing happen.
I think a soul only stays behind if it has unfinished business. And although we refer to them as "hauntings" it is just the only form of communication they can manage.
around here, there are a lot of stories about haunted cemeteries, hotels, and all kinds of places from people being murdered. I've been to a lot of them and never saw, felt, or heard anything out of the ordinary. But people swear they are haunted.
its called a consedual haunting a spirt or a ghost reinacts the way he or she died till they are brought to the light, most dont know they are dead .
i believe it depends on how they died in respects to how they lived out their lives. if a person dies n has things to finish in life then they will come back but if they jus died in a bad way and haunted the place they died theb there would b a lot more spirits out there haunting every1
I always believed they stayed and haunted the place, but there are other reasons why some spirits stay and haunt places.
I would think it would depend on how that person died and how attached or what emotions/feelings were going on with that person when they died for them to want to stay earthbound.
I think they stay if they can't leave things behind. Many human belief systems teach us that there are things more important than material things. If we are too attached to the material things, we can't move on. Maybe that is actually hell. Can see or sense your beloved material things but cant touch.
I do think that they will haunt the place that they died. If they have some unfinished stuff that they need to finish then they will rome the earth untill it is done and if they need to get revenge on someone and they didn't get to do it before they died, then they will get revenge.
I think it really all depends on the way they died. Also if they had unfinished business.
In some situations. I think the weaker the mind is of the person who died, combined with how gruesome the death is...Violent rape and severe torture paired with a weak mind I think would totally break the person, and when the death occurs, I think since something would be broken in the person's mind they'd be rage filled...And remain as a poltergeist.
It all depends on if they died in a bad way and if they have unfinished business.
I think it would depend on the person that it happened to and other factors as well.
I believe the haunting they would haunt u but would have to believe they are dead and stuck there for a reason ,
i believe they stay there or they just roam around and not realize they are dead. thats what i believe.
I have run across several houses that I have lived in where people had died untimely or violent deaths and indeed their souls were tied to these places. So I would have to say that I do believe in this.
yes i believe that homes can be haunted and not nesairly just because they died a terrible death or tortured deadth something may be keeping them in thier home as n them not wanting to leave thier home at that point in time i have lived in 3 places that were haunted and 1 of the 3 home a grussume nurder had happend in years befor we moved in and the womans spirit was still there and haunting the place
I believe that the only person it would haunt is whoevers consience it was riding on. Just my opinion.
i swore the house we lived in when i was a kid was haunted
if the person involved has some unfinished business i would say they would haunt it till it is sorted then they can rest
I personally think it would depend on the state of the person that the soul belongs to, not the cause of death. Maybe if the person was already tortured about other things or directly associated with the cause of death then maybe.
