A lot of colors are said to have psychological affects on people. blue is the most calming for long periods of time where bubble gum pink is immediately calming but will annoy in the long run. Red is the color of rage and cars had to stop using an indication bar the grew as you sped up because people were speeding to much because of it. Brown and orange are colors that make you hungry so that is why McDonalds stores were that color for so long to get people coming in to eat. Yellow is a caution color and people have a tendancy to slow down when they see that color so someone with a yellow car will pay less in insurance then someone with the same car in red.

The mental body in both its logical and conceptual form. It is used to increase immunity, to increase sexual potency, to help in all digestive ailments, chest and kidney diseases. Orange will have a gentle warming effect if used lightly. Orange, like red should not be used for too long. It is not a good color for nervous people or people easily agitated.

If we turn to look at marketing strategies, the colours red and yellow is associated with discount, and black, white, blue, gray etc are more pricy and sophisticated.

Blue and green are chilled but still tranquil colours. Orange, red etc are at the warm end of the colour range.

Black and white are to me, not colours, but shades.

there are seven subtle bodies, or layers, around the physical body, which create the auric body system (aura).

First Layer (The Etheric Body)
This is the closest energy body to the physical. The entire body, including organs, can be perceived but it is made of a bluish (emotional) or gray light (highly active).

The Emotional Body
Since this is the emotional body, it is associated with feelings. It does not duplicate the body, as does the etheric body. Unlike the etheric body, which is blue or grayish in nature, this is more like colored clouds that change color depending on what kind of emotions the person is going through. The Mental Body
the mental body holds our thoughts and mental processes. The color for it is yellow and will brighten if a person is deep in thought, or concentrating on mental activities.

The Astral level
When we start to work with this plane, and above, our perception and abilities leap from the physical to the subtle. Here we will begin to perceive energies that are not of this vibrational frequency. The body of the astral is composed of gorgeous clouds of color, which extend six inches or one foot from the body. Not only does it have the same colors of the rainbow like the emotional body, but a pink, or rose hue is often present with these colors, especially if the person is a loving one.
The Etheric Template Body
This is a template for the lower template body (the first body referenced). This is the template that exists before the physical body is formed.this co-exists in a different dimension This is an important layer in healing if the lower etheric body becomes disfigured as this is the true building block to the lower etheric. This template has a dark blue hue to it.

The Celestial Body
This is the spiritual emotional plane where a person will feel things such as bliss, and spiritual ecstasy. When we reach the place of divine love, interconnectedness (generally through deep meditation) we are touching on this plane, which is felt through our celestial body. When we raise our level of awareness, or consciousness, to the sixth level of the aura, we have allowed a connection to happen from the heart chakra and the celestial chakra. The colors of this body are very soft in nature (pastel) and glow softly from the body.

the Ketheric Template
This is the mental level of the spiritual plane (whereas the celestial body is the emotional level of the spiritual plane). This body contains all the other bodies within it . Its structure is made of a gold, or silvery-gold, and appears as a grid type structure, which is very durable.

Regardless of anything, everyone has a favorite color. One they associate themselves with the most. It would be interesting to see how many people's favorite colors are the same as their personality colors.

Many people out in our world today are looking into or already have studied and used colors for healing.

mood rings are a prime example, i have a close friend, that her eyes change color depending on her state of emotionality, lighter goes with a better mood;light browns, and grays are good for her, dark greens and black mean shes having a bad day.

I believe colors do mean something. Like for instance the color lime green makes my friends way hyper and excited. Black makes them depressed, red makes them P/Oed and for some stupid reason pink makes them happy. blue makes them calm. And i dnt get it, but I do think there is a meaning for colors.

Soft colors like pinks, blues and grees make me stay calm..... red is a fire color...often promotes angry energy..... but not always and not for many.

Culturaly the meaning of color can change depending on where you are. For example in America white is used for most weddings because it represents purity, while in India red is used because it represents purity. Therefore depending on your culture, certain colors will affect you differently.

As some other have pointed out colors do affect us especially psychology. They influence mood and our ideas of relevance along with other aspects. Color psychology, yes that is an actual scholarly term, is a studied subject area. Color and its meaning and how the colors affect us is a learned cultural biased experience/process. For example the color red has a different meaning in the western cultures than it does in the eastern as does the color blue. I do not believe color has any special magical significance as I know many color blind and straight up blind people that do just fine in their magical arts and they have no interaction with color what so ever.

Those using candle magic use colors for certain things as well.. red for passion/love; green for money. Colors work for magic and for every day living with decorating - depending on what you which to achieve.

A great point,but I would say that is most likely half true.The frequency of colour is what it is,no matter if one person can see it or not..ultraviolet will still remain high frequency,while infrared will remain low...I guess my point is ,I think that there is possibly a different reason entirely that peeps choose a colour or a colour would be used a certain way when it comes to using it in ritual or representing the chakras or whatever..it is my belief it is more because of its energy,and wave length,not because it is a pretty colour.jmho

Oh yea, colors def have an effect on people. Like I have said for so long now, how I can't handle red very much and especially in large amounts. Some red is ok, but the color is just so intense...the energy of it. I prefer the Yin color blue instead. Much calmer.

Yet, in the most negative sense it is the colour of anger, violence and brutality.All the components of war.

And how about churches or royalty..Violet..which is the colour of the crown chakra,represents the spiritual..There is a reason for these colours being chosen as they have been,and that,is because of their frequency.

I guess colors have certain vibrations, and they are capable of influencing the human mind in negative or positive way, they are capable of healing, or giving negative energie wich later might result in some problem in the phisical or mental body. Colors of the higher tone are probably positive and cheerful, while those colors of the lower tone are more grounding and depressive.

colors are said to have a major effected on the things we like, like what clothes we pick, what food we eat, like brown foods...people dont seem to eat a lot of brown or yellow foods and not a lot of people choose bright bright colors to wear or to own

I, more than most people, think in terms of colors. I relate emotions to colors, and pretty much everything else. I know colors in dreams can signify something specific, like emotion, or even reveal something.

I believe colors are here to effect the way we think and interact. If we didn't have any color in the world and everything was in black and white, maybe the world would be calmer, and a lot less vilolent..but think of how dull it would be. I derive my observation of this from a book called "the giver" by lois lowry. and I think she makes a very good point in it on how colors effect us.

I think colors affect us greatly. As many have stated here, there has been a good deal of research done on human behaviour and color. Some of it for the sake of improved marketing. Even some mainstream religions use different colors during times in their calandars to help mark their seasons.

In a manner of speaking yes UV,they are.Colour is light.Light is wave.wave is energy.
Incidently,white ,when speaking in terms of light,is a combination of all colours.The wave This is why ,when we see colours when introducing a prism..the prism bends and separates the colours for us to see.It is the wave lenth of these colours that influence the way we feel when subjected to them.

I must admit, I just like red and purple because they are so vibrant, and orange as well. Fun colours, I think!

each color has a meaning and some are bad and some are good it can affect your mood with the color that you wear or see like blue and yellow are good colors and yellow tends to make you hungry witch is odd but i dont know how that works but yes colors can affect your mood

i wear a lot of blues, i would think that it coordinates with me being inside my head too much sometimes.

I haven't studied color magick in depth, but I do know that if you want to calm yourself down you should use a light blue candle. I've also read that it's a good idea to paint your bedroom light blue to help you relax better at night.

colors can have a lot of effect on people. unfortunately i don't know how why. i would have to get back to you on that one.
