Hi all! I know many of us have animal spirit guides, or other guides in the form of faeries, lycans, vampires, etc. Well I was just wondering - is it possible for a human being that is currently living to be a spirit guide for someone?

I'm asking this because I have someone who's been coming to me in my dreams at least 3-4 times a week for the past few weeks. I also just glanced through my Book of Shadows and he appeared to me once while I was meditating. I don't want to say who this person is just yet...he does have celebrity status though. I just want to hear all of your opinions on this one.

I've had a couple of friends tell me that myself and this person knew each other in a past life and that's why he's guiding me in the spirit realm presently now.

Thats a possibility but you have to have a way to get through the natural lies of ego in order to find out the truth.

Infernal you bring up a good point. It's why I'm questioning it. Honestly I believe that our lines of communication in the spirit realm occurred when I meditated and called out his name earlier this year. I know what his presence feels like when he appears to me in my dreams. I don't see just him, but I also can feel him there as well.

Spirit guides no matter what form they exist within, if after the past lives they tend to have led, or the wisdom from their journey's in the ethereal are strong. Then it is very possible as well as does happen. If you think this individual is spiritually wise enough to take on this endevour, then regardless this individuals status...Follow the path and see where the road leads. You may not know if you do not travel.

Well that's something I've never thought of before.

Don't know about guide in the accepted sense but think certain people are drawn to us in times of need....maybe a past life obligation ?

However if you consider guides to be teachers....well that happens alot I think.

It is possible to have a human spirit as a spirit guide my son has a few. I used to have one but she left me a long time ago.

That is most definately possible, I'm not how it would work but I have heard of this happening before.

WOW!! I never heard of this before, I new to all of this but I have had it where I thought my Grandfather was visiting me as when I would wake up I would find something near me that reminded me of him. Weird!!

I am aware of my spirit guides, but to say that a human could be one, it could be possible. But to say that it is one that is living. It is hard to say without knowing more.

As for the past lives thought, that is very possible.

seeing humans are filled with energy(soul, Spirit) i see why they could not be. sometimes in our lives we do run into people thats seem to change or guide us in a path we thought we would have never taken. yes i do believe that they could be our guides.

I definately think that it's possible!! Why wouldn't it? I mean, just as animals appear to us to guide us a human that we have a connection with, in this or past lives, could help us in the same fashion.

it is defenitly possible, and even most likely to happen, I mean how many times do we meet a stranger that sort of somehow guide us then leaves as the smae as he or she has come.

I think it is possible. The problem is more to see the differens between immaginations and reality. Sometimes a human can be in sorrow in his/hers soul and missing someone that have leaved earth so the person starts to see things that dont really is true. But i belive a human can get human spirit guide.

I personally do not think a spirit guide could be human, that is why they are called spirit guides, but i mean i do not see why he is not some form of a guide to you...

I don't think that an alive human can be a spirit guide. I think being a sprirt guide requires you to be a sprirt. However, humans with more wisdom can help us.

Do you have some form of...I don't wanna say obsession, but devotion to the celebrity? If so, make sure it's not just your mind playing tricks on you.
However, I do believe that's possible.

In the Necronomican (at least one of the versions of it I read), when you call your watcher it can take on the form of a man.

I believe that you could have a spirit guide that is human and still living. I believe that is usually how it works. Sometimes the only purpose that someone has in this life is to be a spirit guide to another. I am not minimizing their existance. That is a huge deal.

I don't see why it could not be so. Some are born with such a giving nature that those around them are all blessed and healed just by their presence.

I'm not sure that spirit guide is xactly the correct term, more like spiritual mentor in what you are describing. However, it is also HIGHLY possible that there is a spirit who is guiding you, in the way we think of spirit guides, and it is appearing to you in th image of this person--Probably because it knows that will get your attention. It is possible for a living human to communicate in the manner you described, but why is this famous person choosing you to guide along? And why have they not come out and contacted you in the usual manner...phone, email, visit over coffee....?

yes i do believe there are human spirits and they do belive that is they have unfinished business they will haunt be if they are finshed here on earth they will move on th a final resting place

I guess it's possible...or it could be your body just reacting to a feeling you have for this person.....it could really be anything

In a book I have a Teutonic Lore a type of Shaman known as a Seidhr can enter a Trance state where they can call upon thier Other-worldly mate, Magickal or Protective spirit, Known as a "fetch". This spirit "guide" can be Human or Animal.

I think it is a real possibility. If not, there would not be those who feel it is their duty to help their fellow man, even at the expense of themselves.

Read at least two books of personal accounts where this did happen. I see no reason why this should even be asked. Does it really sound so strange for spiritual and personal help to come from a human being?

There is also a difference in the definition of "human." In some circles humans have younger souls than other people. They have been reborn only within this Universe. Those that have been around for eons and other Universes and have stronger souls are not considered to be human. This may be the case of why it seems so unusual.

We all get help from "someone."

I believe we all have Spirit Guides, some people are aware of theirs and some not. Not sure whether or not a living person could be a Spirit Guide - have to ponder that one.

There would be no reason why a person could not be a spirit guide. I have heard of several stories where people have drempt of a man or woman and recieved help from them.

i think most spirit guides have been human at some point and appear to you as that way to ease our minds, with rememberence of gender & ethnicity still on them. It eases our minds & makes it easier for most of us who know of their presence. I do not think spirit guides can be current living though at the time.
But hey that is just me.

I have had a couple of recurring guides within my dreams since I was a very little girl, so I think it is definitely possible:) I find them to be really comforting, it's nice to think of having 'family' that will be with you to the end of your days:)

I think it is possible for a human to be a sporit guide, but only if that human has passed away. I am not sure how a human could be a spirit guide before the person has passed on.

It is very possible and as far as the animal spirit guides. do you not consider that they may have been human once and that is where therians come from?

I know living humans to be Guardians, Mentors and Guiides ,so yes it is very possible. The soul or spirit has just been around many times is all and are an old soul or ancient one is all.

A living person as a guide for you in the spirit world? Or your spirit guide taking on the shape and/or personality of this living person? Or is it your subconciousness superimposing the image and personality of the subject into your meditations?

If you subconciously look up to this person, when you are travelling in the "spirit world", what you may really be doing is asking yourself "what would so and so do?"

I see what you're saying, but I don't think I would use the term "spirit guide" for this situation. To me, spirit guides are guides that have passed on or are an entity than cannot have a physical form. Since this person is still living, personally I would use the term "soul mate". To me, soul mates are the equivalent of spirit guides, only they are a part of the living realm.

I don't see why a human couldn't be a guide. To my knowledge, a guide appears in a form you are able to accept. Some peoples guildes are in animal or creature forms, that is either the form their spirit itself takes or one most easily accepted by them.

For those that have already crossed over yes, there are many people that I kow of that have people that have crossed over that have humans as spirit guides.

I would think it would be very possible, Like in the other thread about them protecting us. If they can protect, surely they can guide as well.

Well it could be simply that your guides are using this image to contact you so you will be comfortable and communicate with them easily.

However, I do believe that people we meet in life happens with a purpose in mind. These people act as mirrors for us to understand certain aspects about ourselves that we hadn't considered or need to understand to be able to move forth in life.

Perhaps there is something about this celebrity that reflects something in you that you need to discover or understand.

Why couldn't a human be a spirit guide? They have knowledge and can help us with decisions that we need to make.

Having a human as a spirit guide is so plausible that I know it happens. Truthfully, I have guided people as a spiritual guide would. Does that make me a spirit guide though, or just someone that is wise beyond what his years should have given him? It's an interesting concept, but I don't think humans are necessarily spirit guides as much as they are experienced and wise through self-experience.

Of course, I think this is possible. I know some of my dead kin lead and guide me.

Perhaps this is your Spirit Guide in human form...again. I am not sure if that made any sense at all haha.
Anyway, regardless if he is your Spirit Guide, you apparently have some time of connection with him. There is a reason, at least I believe, why this is happening.

This is the first time I have ever heard of anyone thinking they are guided spiritually by fairies, vampires or lycans.

In the rich history of Spiritualism all guides in Spirit form were once human.

Animal guides associated mostly with native American people were something a little different.

Perhaps the celebritity you are thinking of is wishful thinking ?

I tend to think that any claiming celebrity status in Spirit....should be avoided....just my thought on things.

Sure it's possible, native americans learned how to do it 100's of years ago. It takes extreme meditation and concentration, and one has to know the ways of the spirit world.

I have learned that we have at least one spirit guide in this life, maybe more. And we also have animal spirit guides. It is very possible that you have had another life with this spirit. It's comforting to know they are always there for you.

I believe that humans can be spirit guides and that you may have known this person in a past life.

I don't know if this is true, but I believe that it is possible, like a deceased loved one who guides their living family members.

Everyone and anyone or thing for that matter could be a guide. I try to be to those who cross my path.

It would be possible. A soul knows no social status much like it knows not that insticual reproduction drive. I would look further into it and see where I ended up? Honestly what is there to lose other than a bit of dissappointment and then a bit of self realization?

It's also a posibility that this entity, if it is indeed one seperate from yourself, has taken that form to make you feel more comfortable. Astral beings can be a shady lot, do be careful and follow your intuition.

People come in and out of our lives to teach us a lesson in one way or another. We need them for something in our lives at the moment they arrive. I guess they could be called spirit guides in a sense.

i think that part of him, is teaching a part of you, a lesson.

I do believe this is possible for I have had a certaqin someone coming to me in my dreams and through other means of communication.

i would also say to tell that person "what" is happening to see if there is an intent on their part to tell you something.

Like so many others on this thread I think it is very possible. A spirit guide can take on any form that you will be the most comfortable with. Maybe next time, you should try to "speak" with him/her. Or better yet, just open your mind up and your guide will guide you. I hope that doesn't sound like I'm being flip.

It's definately possible. Maybe he wants to know about a family member still alive or a family pet. I am a spirit guide for a ghost by the name of Fritz, he's stuck between realms cause he committed suicide after his girlfriend died. As you already know i'm sure in the spirit world almost anything is possible...lol

The human soul is very complex, I cannot see why a human SPIRIT couldn't be a spirit guide.

Just because the spirit or soul belongs to a human, doesn't mean that the spirit cannot depart from the human body. A human spirit is still a spirit... and therefore, is possible to be a guide of some kind.

As for the connection between you and another, past lives, sentimental meaning, a metaphor, representation of something that you might need to know, are all possible. Anything that may be meaningful to you and may help you out, will appear in your dreams. Sometimes, as I have learned, your subconscious will try to convince you to believe something you refuse to accept.

This person you keep seeing is most likely some one that you knew in a past life. If they are still alive then I don't think that they are a spirit guide. But anything is possible I guess. lol

I think many humans are guides to those around them even if they have not been given the title spirit guide yet.

spiritual guides is another term for ur inner self... when ur hear the voice in ur head saying, "be careful" or "dont do this" that is ur spiritual guides... now, to answer ur question.. there have been people that have come down to earth with a higher conciousness than others, to help raise the consiousness of the rest of us... Goldsmith, Jesus, David Spellsinger, and Moses, are just a few... so yes, it is extremley possible that a human is helping u spiritually

autumngallows stated it almost as I was going to say about everyone has people come into their lives at one time or another that help to make/moldyou. Sometimes they are wtih you for years and sometimes only for a short while. They're only with you for a specific purpose and once achieved, they are gone.

There is of documentaion about living spiritual healers contacting other people who are in need of guidence in dreams. I have also read documentation about some peoples abillity to "dream walk" in others deams to offer help without intentionally doing so. There are people on this earth who are here to help its not really the same as being a spirt guide. Is it also possible that you have a s[irit guide that takes that form because it is more "comfertable"(for lack of a better term) for you than to see it true form? There is also a lot of info stateing that guides will also do that.

Well if you define spirit guide, it is a spirit. It will take on whatever form it wants to or needs to for you to pay attention. Spirits are free engery not confined to the "rules" of this plain. So if your spirit guide needs to take on the form of a famous person to get your attention, then that is what it's going to do. Don't get hung up on the form, pay attention to the message.

I think it's possible that they can be. Probably a bit more helpful than animals.
