As a boy I had a string of nightmares. Vampires would slaughter my family. It was extremely vivid and I recall the deaths and blood in my hallway.
Each night I feared sleep, I began to tremble.
On the 10th or 11th night I fell asleep quickly, with intent, confident. I controlled the dreams and slaughtered the vampires.
The subconscious informs the conscious.. this is the way of things. However with great practice and determination you can willfully communicate with your subconscious and alter direct moments of future time.
The worst nightmare I've ever had happened about 6 months ago. I don't recall what I was doing during the day or what I ate but this freaked me out. In my dream I was tied to a bed in HELL, literally. I was in Hell, tied up to this bed, everything was burning around me, the curtains, the dresser, etc... I wasn't on fire though. All throughout the dream, there was demonic laughter and I recall just before waking up that there was this demonic entity coming close to the bed, it said in a Hellish voice I love you and I woke up. Why was it so scary for me? I was utterly helpless. I tried waking up but I didn't. I couldn't move and I really thought I was going to burn, it was very real and to this day that voice haunts me, not sure what that was all about but I never want to dream anything like that again.
I think that mystic mad a good point. It is possible that nightmares come from our worst fears, like hers is losing her family. That's a thought.
To the post above me; well yeah!!! That would scare the sh*t out of me too! lol.
My worse nightmares were those I had as a child. I have them frequently as an adult but as a child you can't cope with them as well. They seemed so real and frightening and it was hard to seperate them from reality. They were always about some kind of monster chasing me, usually from the latest science fiction or horror movie I had seen on TV. Sometimes Godzilla or King Kong lol or a freaky creature with enormous fangs. I remember being paralyzed a time or two when awakening and its always stayed with me.
i had dreams of dogs attacking me a few weeks back and it really scared me, come to find out when i was 4 my moms ex locked me in a closet with his german shepard because i wouldnt stop crying for my mom
The worst nightmare I can remember having was several months ago I think. There were many little details that went with it, but the basic storyline went like this: I was someone else in this dream, older, living with my sister and her two children. However, it was my current house that it took place in. Anyways, these two psychopathic men broke into the house and immediately killed off my dream sister. I had no idea where the kids were at this point, and I ran and hid. The psychopaths couldn't find me but knew the basic area where I was, so they got the kids and started doing these sick and twisted things, unspeakable things, to them to lure me out. I just closed my eyes and cried, knowing that there was no point in coming out of hiding. They would just kill the kids and then me, no exceptions. But I guess I whimpered too loud, because then one of the men found me. They chased me around until I slipped and fell to the ground, leaning up against a wall, crying. Then he pointed a gun at me and would not shoot me until I looked him straight in the eyes. I struggled, but eventually I figured death would be a welcome embrace and looked into the eyes of my murderer. He smiled, and shot me...but I didn't die. He made me look him in the eyes over and over and over again before he shot me, but no matter how many times he shot me between the eyes I would not die.
I suspect this nightmare was so frightening simply because it was so vivid, every torture, every pain. I have no idea where it came from, but I doubt I'll forget it anytime soon.
I have had some like that, scared me soo bad the last one i seriusly belived i had been bitten my my dog, had a lot of trouble sleeping fr the next week.
I rarely remember them in the long run. Usually if a dream starts to turn into a nightmare, I can snap out of them really quickly and wake up. Only two come to mind that I can remember.
The first was just because it was farely recent. I remember I was at work in this dream. I was just talking with my coworkers sitting in my little cubicle. Then my front teeth started to fall out. I remember spitting them out into my hands for fear of swallowing them. No one around me reacted and the scene just kept on rolling. After a while, I had my hands cupped in front of me with most of my teeth collected in them. I snapped out at that point and immediately ran my tongue over my teeth to check.
The other one was a series of bad dreams occuring during a one month period. They were grounded in events that had occured in real life. I was in a bad car accident but walked out without a scratch. Less than a few weeks later while I was in a rental car, I was in another accident. After that happened, I kept dreaming about being in a car on a busy street. The street and location varied and all where made up. It was unavoidable that I would end up in an accident on these busy streets. Everything around me would stop and everyone in their cars would stop and just turn and stare at me. I would be sitting in the wreckage of this dream car trying to snap out of the dream. I kept having these dreams for a month or two.
looking back on it nightmares i had as a child were very foolish, i suppose it is because as a child i was innocent and vulnerable
when i was young i used to be afraid of spiders,i can remember having nightmares of tarantualas and in the dream i was unable to move,so as an adult i have overcome that fear and now like spiders a lot
I remember when I was yonger (I was just going into high school) I had a dream where I was in this castle, and it was VERY stormy outside. I was in a class room with a bunch of other people, and I remember seeing someone there with a hood on, face hidden from my veiw. Our class was called, and he raced ahead of me, as if showing me where we were going, and we went up this long spiral staircase to this tower. Yes a tower, like the ones really old castles have. I was first and I went into this room, and was interrogated, then I was put in another room, and there was nothing there but a wooden chair, and stone floor and walls. Then it seemed like the storm got worse, and I was told that I had to sit in the chair so I did. I remember waiting for a while, then this demon came from nowhere, and I screamed and it seemed like the demon melded with me, and I woke up breathing hard and scared to death.
Tigerzplay: I agree with you completely! Even as adults nightmares can be extremely terrifyng. I think that where the horror comes from is the fact that in a dream, everything goes. Our mind is to "soggy" to differentiate what is real and not real. Even after we wake up from a nightmare, sometimes we are still very frightened. I have had them so bad I was unable to move for about 10 minutes after I had waken up. They can be very disturbing that's for sure.
Dreamt about snakes last night. Really vivid, kinda pretty in an icky, slithery way, especially the luminous red one. Knew it was a dream. Sat up and turned light on. Annoyed at my mundane surroundings where nothing moved.
Usually, I vanquish whatever "it" is.
Only once was I more preoccupied with getting a scream out, which was difficult, but satisfying. Again a part of me knew this was a dream, an exciting one.
Usually is the groundwork for a creative project. Not the subject necessarily . . . the opening up and letting go.
I keep dreaming that i am going to lose my best friend in the war. This man is my everything and I would be nothing without him. It scares me to death everytime i have this dream.
You see, I think that some nightmare can come from nowhere. But as she said, it would devastater her to lose her friend. So i think that nightmares are also our worst fears. mine are mostly lurid and completely obscure. But others...
i dont remember my dreams or nightmares very well but i remeber a little bit there was 1 i had when i was younger were the ground swallowd me and my dad up and we were on a ledge with lava 1 side and rotting corpses hanging on a wall the other and we were walking along and i saw myself walking through the eyes of 1 of the corpses then saw its eyes move then was in my body walking again i cant remember enything else your brain forgets 90% of your dreams within 10 mins of waking up.
I had two nightmares steadily when i was a kid one was about being chased by dobermans and another was where i was in my father's pickup and someone tried to steal his pickup i was trying to climb out of the truck bed before he could take off with me and the truck and i was falling.
I always woke with my heart pounding.
I still find i have the dream about the dobermans even now as an adult.
I still have the same r occuring night mare that I ave had over and over again for years, and we have tried many different things to get past it and nothing works , thjose around me just have come accustomed to me waking up screaming every so often, but then again i sleep so little these days, i dont have th change to fall asleep long ugh to dream the dreams.
An ongoing nightmare I had as a small child for a few years was being a large black room, like an operating theater. A spotlight was on me laying on a slab unable to move. A mechanical arm would come down, unfolding to longer and longer from a very high ceiling with a large spoonlike device at the end. It would touch my abdomen and begin to scoop out my insides as I screamed, unable to move. Had that same reoccuring dream for a few years. To this day, I cannot lay on my back to sleep.
The positive dream I have every couple of weeks in even greater detail than I posted ever since I was a teenager is on my profile page towards the bottom. I am still wondering why I have that dream.
Wow that is areally bizaare dream, gives me shivers just thinking about it. Do you have kids ? That what comes to mind when you descibed it.

I have what's called NightTerrors. They're nightmares but they're special in that when the person wakes up, the nightmare normally follows him/her into the real world. It's a form of Post Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD) and it's normally found in young children, those that have been to war, or someone who has experienced an equally traumatic event. They can be gotten rid of with years of therapy but some just never go away. I won't go into what caused mine.
My worst dreams, I never remember. All I know is that I wake up scared for my life and screaming. The worst one I had, I woke up to find my best friend and his mom sitting on top of me, trying to hold me down (I'd spent the night). They said that I was thrashing around and screaming so loud that the neighbors called the cops. The whole left side of my face was one big bruise all the way down to my should from where I'd hit it on the bed post. I had scratches and blood everywhere from where I'd been fighting with myself. They told me that it looked like I was trying to tear my skin off to get at somthing. All I remember about the dream was some sort of monster and it put spiders under my skin. I remember seeing spiders covering the walls and floors for days on end afterwards. I refused to leave my spot because I was afraid they'd get me. Alex had to bring all my food to me and take me to the bathroom himself because i was too scared to move.
my worst nightmare has been reoccouring every night for the last year....
its just a reoccouring memory but it scares me just the same
i walked into this house where my boyfriend lived and i asked his mom where he was, she told me he was up in his room and hasnt come out for a few days. the reason being was because he was depressed because someone told him that i was cheating on him with a girl. when i went up to his room i walked inside and i saw him hanging from the rafters in his room....that was the memory
the nightmare starts the same but when i walk into his room he talks to me. he looks at me and says things like. this was all your fault, im dead because of you, im never coming back....
every day i wake up crying, shaking and telling myself that thats not true.....
I keep having this night mare where when i go visit my grandparents and daughter at the grave i get pulled in a little hole near a grave stone
Something grabs my leg its like a fingered looking branch and then i wake up weird

xvitaeXofXlifex, It sounds like you blame yourself in part for your boyfriend's death. *this isn't Army btw, her sister... lol* It's good that you tell yourself that you're not to blame but are you just saying that or trying to convince yourself of it?
My worst nightmare ever I don't barely remember. I think I tried to forget it and get it out of my mind. But I know my mother passed in it. I just remember waking up crying. Thinking that my mother was actually dead. I went into her room and woke her up and I slept in her for for a few days after that dream.
I use to have the same dream over and over again. It was about a man with no face trying to kill me. He would chase me in the woods until he caught me the only thing is each time he killed me he did it in different ways. One time he used an axe, another a gun, another rope, ect. I am not sure what it meant but I don't dream about it anymore now that I am on sleeping medication.
I was 15 and my family just told me that I was no longer alowed to be bi-sexual and my girl friend would have to go so that night i had this dream:
I found myself sitting in a room, basking in the suns warmth. I was happy there, alone in a peaceful silence. Then standing in my doorway, I saw her petite figure, her eyes a familiar crystal blue and although she stod in shadow, I could see her grin. I could not stop myself from moving towards her. Her face unsettling and lost. I wanted to reach out and touch her, feel her warm embrace. Then the shadows shift my family stod like a stonewall in front of her, their faces holding no emotion. I lower my head and take a step away. "Forget her," they beg me. I look into her sad eyes, pouring from them like rain are her tears. I step forward pushing them aside, their hands reaching for me, but never catching grasp. I take her face in my hands and wipe away her tears, "your okay now. They wont touch you." I lean in and take in the sweet sent of her "I promise." she wraps her her arms around me, her head buried in my chest. "I love you" the words whispered slowly. I can't hide the smile on my face, the redness in my cheeks. "I love you too" she's looking up at me now, waiting. I lean in touch my lips softly on hers "please believe me." I loosen my grip on her and as she looks at me she begins to fade. I reach for her, but she slips right through me, melting on my finger tips and then…..
i woke up.
Have you ever noticed that when they are really bad they stick with you for days sometimes? Dreams can be so real at times that it's truly terrifying.
The most vivid one I had was when I was little -- I was being chased by a giant black wolf. Everything in the dream was exaggerated; I was impossibly small, the wolf was the size of a house, and i could only move in slow motion.
And all i could feel was its hot breath on my back as i ran. Freaky.
after my brother died I had some very gruesome dreams where we where both walking up a country path, the day turned to night and then we where attacked and my brother started to rot parts of his face where so gruesome that I could almost smell the scent of a corpse.
the dreams stopped happening after a while but every time I had them I woke up shaking and was almost sick.
tough I think it was grief that made the dreams so horrific.

My worst Nightmare was when i suddenly found myself running from an unknown enemy. But running wasnt the problem it was the fact that i never went anywhere. No matter how hard i pumped my legs, my adversary was catching me. Every time the Enemy got close all i saw was shadow. Then when the hand was about to clutch my shirt, i was awoken. i was covered in a this sheen of sweat breathing hard because i was running. Later i found out it was my uncle who was chasing me in a dream attempting to control where no mortal is allowed. this dream i had many many times. I cant count how many times i awoke in the night terrified that when i went back i was gonna dream again. Finally i had a dream a few years ago where that dream started and he did catch me. But i didnt awaken. instead i was moved through from wherever i was, to the building where i was currently sleeping. i wasnt in his clutches anymore and i knew who it was. i was in my kitchen and i grabbed a knife from the knife set that i kept on my counter (it was so vivid) he was in the front hall attempting to stalk his way toward me with the intent to kill me. with a perfect view from where i was standing i threw the knife at him. he had seen me about to throw the knife so he turned from it (didnt try to get out of the way which anyone would have done. but this made me think i now have control of my dream) it hit him square in the back. when i go to take a step toward him i suddenly find myself right next to him. (i didnt walk the whole way) as he turns back towards me i yank the knife from his back, there are no cries of pain from him at all. untill this point i hadnt seen his face but i knew it was him. when he turned toward me the were tears in his eyes and the look of sorrow. as though he was sorry for all the pain that he had put me through. in the rage that i was in and the fact that he had plagued my dreams for years i took the knife and gutted him from navel to neck. Then i simply woke up. i have yet had the dream of running away since. It has been 3 years.
I had a very vivid nightmare once that woke me because I was screaming and crying. I was at a mall and there was something going on...I am not sure what it was..but I was getting ready to get on the escalator and the gentleman that was ahead of me was shot in the head and fell to the ground. When I bent down and held his head the man's face turned into the face of my oldest son...It was so real I woke up screaming and crying and felt as if something was crushing my chest! I will never forget that nightmare or the sheer anquish that i felt.
I do not know what may have triggered the dream but it scared the daylights out of me. I am not sure about nightmares being hidden messages the same as dreams can be from our subconscious mind but they could be...maybe I may have felt that I wasn't spending enough time with my kids and that is why I had the dream...I honestly do not know.
I believe people have nightmares so our subconscious can get rid of stress or fears we've had during the day. If our nightmares didn't vent out our fears or concerns from the day time [or whenever someone is awake] it would drive us insane or into depression.
The worst dream I've had is something I am not comfortable sharing. Personal and all.
To give a back story to this dream my ex that I was living with was a paranoid schizophrenic that in so many ways told me he wasn't interested in me. He also had me thinking that I was pregnant and I'm sleeping next to him and I have a brutal dream of me giving birth and him taking a meat cleaver and killing my child. It was the most vivid dream and I never discussed it with him. Later that day I was cautious in my approach and I asked him what would happen if I was pregnant. He told me that he would "have" to marry me and he would never leave the child out of his sight since he was never able to see any of his kids grow up.
In a way I'm grateful. I'm back with my family and I'm without ever getting married and having kids because I just suck when it comes to picking guys.
I have had the one of me holding my granddfathers hand, and he just starts turning into sand, and his soul disappears in front of me...
That scared me, and still does. Even though he passed away 6 years ago.. My sleep he still dwells in.
Nightmares been stopped due to meditation and astral.
but in lucid dreams few like vaccuum grown but not any frightening incidences happen.
the unpleasant moment did rise when my dream was intercepted and it played with me and my dreams just like toy snatching my dreams from me and placing its formed dreams in my vision forcefully and when i did go to my own dream forcefully once, it placed those souls and beings in my vision of my own dreams by they walking through my own dream.
It was totally unpleasant and awaken me to lucid dreaming for next few months in series. after that just like lucid dream wagon went through me trackng me.
I was very young and i was sleeping in my nana's bed, i noticed the ceiling was getting lower and consuming me, suffercating me so to speak. then i would be at my childhood school walking around at night in the empty hall... and someone was chasing me.
it is all i can remeber
the one i remember most is when i was a child..... i had the same dream over and over ..... i was in a dark room and i was crouching in the corner... from what i still dont know ,,, but i could smell this smell .. iwas kinda like rotted meat ... and i remember looking around .... and trying to move but could not...... it would scare the h***
outta me every time
i think my worst nightmare has to be i dreamed my brother died. it was crazy and crucial. i woke up sweating and crying. i vaugely remember the details sadly
One of my most recent nightmares was quite odd, really.
I was in the middle of the backseat of a large, old car. I had two little girls on either side of me, and there was a woman and a man in the front seat. Their faces didn't strike any real life resemblance to me. They car was moving at rather slow place, I'm guessing it was because it was dark out that the woman was so cautious about driving. Soon enough we stop at this huge stop light intersection, I remeber all the lights flashing yellow, which I remember because I was confused to why all the cars had stopped moving. Leaning over the front seat I squinted at the dark scencery, trying to pick out something other than stoplight or head lights. Then I saw it. There was about 4 cars parked right in the middle of the intersection, blocking the road from anyone moving any farther. A man stepped out of one of the cars and started walking around them. They was he was moving his hands, I guessed he was talking, though I don't know if anyone could hear him. At that moment one of the two small girls started screaming, sobbing and wishing to go home. The man in the middle spun around to look at our car, and I flew back into the seat, surprised by his sudden movement. I then started to comfort the girl, holding her against me and rubbing her back. When I looked up again the man was standing outside the window closest to the sobbing girl. He started screaming at me suddenly, I don't remember what it was. Something along the lines of 'Shut her up!' The last thing I remember before I woke up was covering both of the girls from seeing him as he pulled out either a gun or a knife, I don't remember which one it was.
I awoke that night, gasping heavily, it was one of my few nightmares since I was a little girl. I don't know why it was so scary, I think it might have been the expression on the screaming man's face..
That sounds so much more like a night terror, I hope they are not too frequent.
I have had two night terrors, due to my experience (I was robbed as a gas station attendent).
It was the scene on a train, and since my work environment was being undermined by a loser asst. Man., All my fellow clerks barrling down the track, the asst. Manager, and the face of the robber, guarding the brake
I had a dream a few weeks ago...
The context of it (real life)...
Me and my boyfired had recently moved house, we were told that an elderly lady had lived there before us and she'd died in the house.
The dream...
Me and my boyfriend were laid on our bed, with his mate (who was the landlady) we were all looking up at the ceiling - which was full of holes. We were asking the landlady to repair them but she kept telling us it wasn't her job to repair our ceiling ans she wasn't going to do it.
So we had an argument over the state of the ceiling and eventually we solved the problem.
Just then i realised that my Mum was sat on a chair next to us also looking at the ceiling.
The next thing i knew there was an icy chill in the room, according to mum the pillows were jumping around all over the bed.
Then from the shower in the corner if the bedroom, the elderly lady jumped on to the bed and was hugging my feet.
The landlady simply said "Hello Anne"
My other half looked as if he couldn't quite believe it was real.
Me? - I just screamed!
I asked mum if she saw that coming and she said she did because the pillows were going crazy...
When i woke up...
I was screaming like a 2 year old!
A couple of years ago I went through a phase where I had these hellish dreams which involved sadistic torture in a hellish environment where there was no escape.
I think it was probably because I had just met a girl who kept telling me if I didn't quit reading Harry Potter I was going to hell. Once I made the connection and recognized it for crap, the dreams stopped.
Worst nightmare ever: there are two but will only post one.
I am running in a dark cave.
It is only lit by a large fire.
I reach into a hole with a puddle in a big huge pile of rocks.
I put my hand in and chanting starts,
I grab something large in my hand and slowly begin to pull it out.
Then it comes slowing into my eyesight and it's a hoof!
It is then I realize i'm bringing the devil into the world...
i awake frozen for in the corner of the room is a doberian dog black as the room but i know he is there because his eyes are barely glowing red...then i blink and he disappears but i cannot move....
i still don't like remembering that...what does it mean i don't know but it freaked out my mother and had holy water sprinkled throughout the house and she took me to a priest....this did happen when i was about 18
My worst nightmare was getting this baby born. It looked so real. Boy, was I happy once I woke up, you have no idea.
i have had this dream many times..im always in the same house..this house only has 3 walls and these long white curtains that are always flying in the breeze..and im always looking for something but i dont remember what it is...theres always this man with me that i dont know and he seems to be helping me look for whatever it is im looking for..in the basement theres rows of just stuff, wierd things like 3 yard chairs, 3 dishes, 3 bottles, you name it, its there and everything in 3's....wierd, i know....i wouldnt call this a nitemare ..but when i wake from this dream, i just cant shake it...like what am i looking for?
Here's one for you, and keep in mind that I'm NOT claiming any kind of premonition ability, but I've always had this weird thing that happens to me. I'll be in a situation, usually very mundane and suddenly I'll remember dreaming about the situation, same people, details are different but colors remain the same.
Now there are two things that trigger this one I receive something for example - a couple of years ago I had a dream about being at a Birthday party and receiving blue purse. I never thought about it again, certainly didn't bother to mention it. Well last Christmas, a girl I was seeing, whom I'd only met six months prior, gave me a blue wallet for Christmas. I've had many other similar experiences.
The other one is more situational. A phrase in a conversation or an expression on somebody’s face will trigger the memory of a dream and I'll remember dreaming about the whole scene, only in the dream there was an impossibly negative outcome, so basically I watch my P's and Q's and everything plays out in a fairly mundane manner.
Is it weird that I can say that I've had dreams like this on and off my whole life, but still wouldn't consider it to be any kind of psychic phenomenon? Oh well, I suppose if I was a normal gal I wouldn't be hanging out on a Vampire site.
Nightmare and dreams revalve around what happened that day and week and what ever may happen in the futrue and all reflects your emotions
My worst dream I ever had was I found myself standing in a room of mirrors, yet the only reflection I seen was not of myself, no matter which way I turned the reflections taunted me..
Honest I dont know what caused the dream I only know that I was told that many dreams are subconcious fears.. However I have had many dreams that has become a reality.. A sort of fortune telling.
The dreams I have had and later remembered dreaming it while it was becoming a reality to me usually involve situations, such as danger.. Few of my dreams have been of close friends ad when I shared them with them they seem to become real..
I Honestly believe dreams of sort is a warning to what is to come..
I often have nightmares I guess cause of the troubles I have.
Dreams can be anything, future symbols, fears, wishes, things hidden etc...
I don't know which one was the worst when I try to remember I can't remember a whole dream except for flashes,, but all I am sure is, that I have them often and usually they involve people following me, blood etc...
Would agree with others in the fact that dreams often come from the subconcious. Our fears, hopes, desires and wishes. Sometimes though other things in my mind blend in. Perhaps a past life occurance or even a spirit attempting to communicate.
Have had many terrifying dreams in my life and it simply is too hard to point to just one occurance.
When I was a little boy my bed was near my parents bed.
The passing between reality and dream was hard to be noticed.
Suddenly I was decreasing size until I was so small I could hardly climb on the tip of the fingernail of my mom.
The thumb was the size of a mountain and I was always jumping of it like from a cliff. The vertigo was next.
The dream was horrible and it was repeating itself once every two weeks.
As a child i would have dream that look so realistic i though i was awake. Sometimes i dream a fragment of the future which i wouldn't know until it happens
Outside of scary, I had a recurring dream that I was running and not going anywhere. It was like running in place and pushing myself but making zero progress. I really sucked hard and only later did I find out I was hindering myself in a situation that menat a lot to me, so I changed what I was doing made some progress and the dream went away of it own accord.
I used to have a dream where a man with no face and a body completely constructed of melting mud, would come in the night and steal away my mother. He ouwld take her to an underground lair and turn her into a wolf. Everytime I had this dream i was attending a different school so the boy that i happened to have a crush on at the time would appear in the dream and attempt to rescue my mother. Unfortunately no one was ever able to rescue my mom, but they were always able to rescue a ratty old teddy bear.
The dream doesn't sound very terrifying, but it is for me because i have a fear of my mom dying or being taken away from me. I love her very much and she is like an appendage on me.
Nightmares are worst fears comming out wen we sleep..
or signs of things i had this one nightmare that stuck with me along long time..
I still see it sometimes they are hard to shake
this one nitemare haunted me for a long time sence age 3
i opened a door into a extra large room pitch black the door closes behind me ... slowly torches along the wall light up one by one to reveil the back wall with a dozen or so old style wood caskets propped up on the wall with no lids and just skelitons.
if i had to analyze this dream i would say these are my personal demons that i need to face and i feel they were being shown to me in some sort of symbolic way to make me change my ways...i believe each skeliton to be some evil i did ...now at age 3 when this started happening iam sure i was innocent in this life but my past life was warning me ...i feel it in my bones
Nightmares are not my part of conscious now.
when it is about to turn to nightmare, before that it turns to lucid dream to me now from long period and this gives me option to wake up in that case.
My most recent nightmare [[I tend to forget them after about a week]] was a running dream. I was talking on the phone to one of my friends - a nameless one about nothing in particular - when I heard a sound on the other end that sounded like skin being rent apart, and a gurgling noise which I can only assume came from his mouth after getting his throat slit. An ambiguous voice came over the reciever telling me that it was coming for me next. I ran into my house and into my bedroom, which I shared, to find my roommate sleeping on her top bunk. There was something under her blanket. I pulled myself up onto the bunk and tried to wake her, but was only able to watch as the thing strangled her to death. I tried to hide under a pile of blankets on a corner of the mattress [[the bunk was in a corner agaisnt two walls]] but was unable to hide before the thing looked up at me. It looked a bit like the liquid metal terminator, exepct it had a formed head and the body looked like a purple blanket, not a shiny silver pool of melted silver. When it looked at me....it had the face of a woman, but the eyes were wrong. There were two dark slits in the forehead, one above each eye, and it was very pale, almost grayish of skin tone. The mouth was an insignificant line accross the face, under a nose which reminded me of the Harry Potter movie version of Lord Voldemort after he gets his body back. It started to move toward me, sort of like a snake moves. At this point I woke up and was unable to move myself away from the wall off pillows against my back for fear of coming face to face with said creature. It took me a good fifteen minutes before I could force myself to run out of the room;; I couldn't even talk for around ten minutes because I was that terrified, but my boyfriend didn't hear me calling for him over his music.
Most of the time I forget my dreams when I wake up .But the worst nightmare I remember is of my favotite cousin Bill was crucified on a stake in front of me and I had to go to hell so he could be freed.Satan was there telling me he wanted my soul to save my cousin.
i know this sounds weird but i welcome the nightmares. i like the way that they make me feel, how they make the blood run along with the adrenilin. its awsome and most of the time i dont want to wake up. i would rather stay in the dream and see how it plays out.
My worst dream was when I was very young. I had met somebody, one of my parents's friends. And that night I dreamt he was knocking at the door. I said I can't open the door my parents aren't home. He pulled outa jack-knife and said open the door. I retreated to the middle of the kitchen away from the door and windows and said I still can't open the door. He pulled out a handgun and started shooting. I started running through the house but he was at every window, shooting and laughing. Horrified me.
I never remember my dreams, unless they actually wake me up. Usually if it wakes me up it's a bad dream. So to me, I haven't had many good dreams, mostly nightmares.
I had a nightmare about a few months ago, it was about my imaginary friend ( I still remember him since I was around 5-6) his name was Justin he and I us to do everything together and one time I snuck out of the house around 10 (veryone was a sleep) I went to this rose bush with Justin and picked one out for him and told him that I loved him (remember I was round 6) and he said he loved me too and I said that nothing could or would seperat us, or so I thought, so one night I was mad at my parents and took my anger out on him, and told him " to go away and leave me alone forever" and then I went to sleep and every night for the past two years I dreamt of him and all ways seeing him like when my whole day was full of walking around doing some stuff walking in the park (and it was close to sun down) and then I walk home, and that night I see him just in the shadows where no one expects to see someone or wouldnt even notice anyone there in the shadows. And Everyday I had this kind of dream: I live out my day, by night and I dream I live it over agian but this time I see someone in the shadows that I have not noticed before during the day.
After about two years of it, it one day just stopped. I suddenly started to miss him and now adays I my dreams became reality and I always see him out the cornner of my eye. And so this one day a few months ago (although I had this kind of dream before but very different) I dreamnt that there was someone was following me and I was walking in the dark upt to me it seemed light out, like a bluish color, and I thought it was Justin but then I kept hearing footsteps getting closer and suddenly for some reason I felt that it was not him so I started running. The stranger started running after me and while I ran I felt like I was being torn apart Phisicaly by that stranger and all the while I kept seeing and feeling justin watching me from afar and I kept yelling for him to help me but he apeared to not hear me so I kept yelling for him while I ran and while I started to phisicaly be torn apart! Finaly the staranger lungde at me and I we both fell to the ground, and the stranger started doing terable things to me : rape, Torture, punching me etc...and still Justin stood there watching and to me (before I yelled at him) I thought of him as my lover and friend that would do anything for me not matter what. But he stood there just watching me....I woke up and when I did I was all wet and I felt like I had felt in the dream but when I woke I sat upright fast and when I did at the edge of my bed I saw a figure there and I felt that it was not the staranger but only justin...he then said to me like what he said to me back then "as you wished, I wll leave you alone forever, but I will always be watching no matter what" and then he lungded at me and suddenly I could see him but it wasnt me it was the stranger that attacked me! then I woke up again and ran to turn on the light and when I did everything was back to normal well exept there was rose petels on my window seal and (since it was raining and the windows were all fogged up) there was writing saying "forever waching, as you wished"...I cried for a whole month becasue like I said, to me he was my lover and friend, my everything
And to this day I see him still in the shadows it scared me casue after that night when I yelled at him I wished that I could take it back and sometimes once in a while when I sometimes forget about him for even a second of my day, that night I have dreams that he is watching me...
i have weird weird dreams but the one i remember most is
I was in a house in the country. It was a wooden two story country house. Had the wooden furniture and the animal's head on the wall. The flo blue china in the cabinets. Earthy color tones on the couch and decor. Anyway I am standing by the front door with about 6 other people that I have no idea who they are. I am explaining to them that the only way we can kill them are to chop off their heads and smash their brains in. I myself felt confused in my dream because I really had no idea what we were fighting. Then all of the sudden something smashes through the window that looks completely human. I mean not all zombie looking how most of the times the bodys are at an odd angle and the face is decomposed. I had a shovel in my hand and I cut off its head and smashed its brains in. I told everybody we have to move now. We all ran out the door and these things were comming at us from everywhere. We were all fighting them off and I remember that me and one other person run to this car and get in. Then one of the things are on top of me. I end up somehow in this car chopping off this things head and it falls out of the car. I smash its brains in. We are then driving down this road and I say we have to find out what is making these things. We end up at this platfoarm that leads down into this machine. There are two people standing there. They walk down into this machine the door closes and a couple of minutes later I know that these people are cloning theirselves. I start down the machine and then I wake up. I was really pissed when I woke up because I wanted and ending.
The worst for me is then I know I am sleeping and trying to wake up. Like lifting a 100 pounds of weight off yourself. The frustrating struggle. Then when I do finally wake up my eyes, and body are so tired I can’t stay up. I just fall back into it. I repeat it through out the night not knowing if I really did wake up and fall back to sleep, or if it was all a horrible dream.
when i was a little boy, i would have a dream where i would be sitting around on our porch with my friends. then one of my friends look into my lawn and says holy crap the lawn showed ripples in it. so i get up and go check it out, along with two friends. we walk to where we see the ripples and nothing was there. i turn and look at one of my friends, and his face looks terrified. i spin around and my other friend is gone, and theres ripples where he was standing. i grab hold of my other friend, and he begins to sink into the lawn too. i reach out, but too late he was sucked in. i turn and and start running toward the porch, and i reach the porch and all of a sudden a shark jumps out of my grass, as if to swallow me along with my friends, then i wake up, and i had this same dream more then once
I dream all the time ** no worries dreams are just whats going on in your life at the time lottss of secert stuff to make your live run smoother if you know what to look for ** i have many dream journals over the years and have read lots of book on dreams * good stuff ** sleep tight happy night mares hahaha !!
The worst one i've had was a few years ago. i was sleeping in my bed and i woke up to the sound of the creaking of my door and there stood a zombie. I got up and looked out my window and there was hundreds and some were my parents i tried to get away but they got me and tore me apart
Last night was a double whammy for me. 2 nightmares in one night.
The first one:
hint/Background: ((you might not get this if you haven't played the second R.E. game))When I was little, my mom and dad and twin brother used to play resident evil 2 a hell of a lot. I was always watching my mom play as Claire Redfield and I hated the fact that every time she died, the zombies gathered around her as they dug their teeth into her, and I heard her scream as she died and blood splattered onto the screen. I usually have dreams of scenes from multiple resident evil games, but mainly ones with Claire in it for one reason or another.
My dream was about where Claire lost Sherry and she fell into that sewer thing (before you get attacked by that giant alligator/crocodile, whatever) and I hear the Red Queen's voice (from the first resident evil movie) yelling. "KILL HER! SHE'S INFECTED! KILL HER!"
But I didn't.
I helped her up and asked if she was alright. She asked where Claire was and I took her to this...kinda office looking room. I could hear shooting and blood was splatter all over the place. Claire was trying to fend off all the zombies. And for some reason, I felt myself in Sherry's body. I felt how helpless she felt and all I could do was run from the zombies, screaming occasionally and going from room to room, running from zombie after zombie.
And then I found a room where there was this calico cat, her eyes bloody and rolled in the back of her head. I was back in my normal body and saw a zombie walking towards me...
Then I woke up...I remember all the blood and I looked at the clock before rolling over on my side and burying my face in my pillow, trying to get some sleep.
Then the second dream came...
Hint/Background: Over the summer, about a week or two after my boyfriend visited. One of my best friends got me worked up because his other friend stole his phone and told me and his mother that he was at this park. I kept calling his phone and I guess one of his friends was screwing around with me, calling me his best friend, and sexy and all that shit, and kept getting text messages saying we should buy matching rainbow underwear and show each other. Now I was kind of getting upset about that. On our way to the park I get a call from my friend saying that he's not at the park, saying that he's safe and that he's alright. I kept asking him what was going on and he wouldn't tell me.
The next day we got into a fight on AIM, him telling me I care too much and that I'm too emotional. So a week later, after holding everything in. I broke down crying, realizing what had happened.
So now I have been getting dreams of him either getting hurt and blaming me, or me crying, trying to apologize for what I had done and him hugging me telling me it's alright. These dreams mainly occur after I come in contact with him or even see him for like a second.
well, one of those dreams last night wasn't a nice one...
I was for some reason dressed in this gothic, black and grey corset and tight black jeans. My hair was a dark ebony--almost slicked/spiked back and my skin was like a grayish lavender. I was looking around and seeing some people dressed as though they were going to play dungeons and dragons, while others were dressed similar to what I was. I think we were at like a christmas party of some sort because there was this huge, white christamas tree that was all lit up and stuff. I was wondering around and when I went to talk to him the tree fell. Next thing I see he was down on the ground bleeding all over the place and everyone stared at me. The gave me this look like "this is all your fault...you hurt him..."
After a while I sat in the corner by the tree, petting a stray cat and suddenly the tree sets on fire. Everyone is running from the tree. I didn't know where to go; while other people were trying to find somewhere safe, I climbed out a nearby window onto the roof. It was snowing and my shoulders were cold. I was walking near the edge of the roof and looked out to see a busy road. Like in the city. Apartment buildings, a lot of people walking; the Occasional car. I was feeling chilled...
Then I heard a raspy whisper. "You did this...!" I turned around and saw him laying on the roof. He was still bleeding and it looked like he couldn't feel or move his legs. "Why are YOU here!?" he hissed.
"I--" I couldn't speak. I felt choked up--guilty that I had hurt him.
"You keep hurting me...Get the FUCK away from me!" He tried to scream as he attempted to look at me.
I couldn't look at him. He was hurt. In pain. And I was the one everyone had said had caused it. I couldn't take it. I crumpled to the ground and fell onto my side, falling into the snow on the roof as I felt tears some down my face and staining the snow. "I'm sorry..." I began to cry, feeling my throat feel tight. "I didn't mean to...I'm sorry..."
Then I heard gentleness in his voice as he said quietly, "why are you outside like that? It's cold out here and you're going to get sick..."
I shook my head, "I don't care...And besides...there's a..." I just remembered about the fire inside the the house. "Oh my god...There's a...a fire...! A fire! FIRE!!!" I screamed at the top of my lungs. "Somebody help!" I sat up, "There's a fire in this house! Somebody help!" I kept crying as I felt the heat of the fire burn into my back, like heated wings. "THERE'S A FIRE IN THE HOUSE! SOMEBODY HELP!"
And then I woke up. I felt like I wanted to cry, but I couldn't. I wanted to scream but couldn't find the voice. I can never cry when I wake from those anymore..It's not fair...
I beleive there are 3 types of dreams, 1. A prophetic dream where the events will come to pass either lerally or metaphoricly. 2. A cryptic message from another, either through the astral or a higher power, usually something that gives you guidance or advice. 3. Ordinary dreams where you're brain is just filing away the days information to the apprpriate pigeon hole in your memory. Thankfully most nightmares are a product of the latter type of dream!
I used to have terrble nightmares when i was little and it was all the time. It was usualy about family memebers being hurt or them hurting me. this was weird because i am not close to any family members that would hurt us. Latley i know that i have been having a nightmare but i can never quite recall what it was. I usually wake up shaking or really upset and sweaty and all the covers thrown off my bed. I try to remeber what my dream was about but never can i and sometimes i wonder if i would rather know.
As a child my parents took me and my brother to the N.C. zoo and you have to go through the reptile area to get to the out side petting part , , well we walked forward , wall to wall snakes of all kinds in glass cages ,as I got close they started striking at the glass trying to get at me , I froze ,I could not go through there I was hysterical my father picked me up and took me out side ,needless to say I now still have night mares about being surrounded by snakes and being bitten . its a terrible feeling , at one time I could not even see a snake on TV.
I always think my worse naightmare is whee i get eaten by a shark. I first off am not a god swimmer and second off sharks are scary.
My dreams are normally realistic, but the other night I had one about shapes that acted and moved like humans. I liked the concept, it would make a good story (without the shapes of course) but it was purely unrealistic and something I would have never come up with when I'm awake. Is there a reason some dreams are weird while others are realistic?
My mother told me that dreaming about snakes means you have enemies.
I've dreamt about snakes, but always vanquish them. Mostly I prevail in my scary dreams, but less so as I grow older. I wake up before I finish them off.
I've been thinking about the stages of growth children go through. It's been explained to me that when they're in a development growth spurt, children often seem fearful and regress. For example, they start standing and taking a few steps, and then collapse and return to crawling.
Nightmares, at least for me, function in much the same way. I'm working something out, about to go through a change.
Nightmares are usually cased by going to sleep with unresolved issues on your mind and high calorie food intake prior to sleep.
No one likes them, but we all have them.
reoccurring dreams-nightmares need to be sought out, usually an underlying problem that is being ignored or supressed by your own subconscience state.
I have had night terrors since i was a kid , was told years ago that I would out grow them, that doesn't seem to be the case though. Most of mine always revolve around being chased down and being brutally attacked which causes me to wake up screamin, and that is when i am actually bale to scream sometimes i am just frozen in terror and cant even move, i havent had one like that in a long time, but the others are just as scary.
When I was younger about 10 or 11 I didn't live with my family for a year. I had decided to live with a family friend instead.
The dream took place at her house.
Someone I still don't know to this day who was going around killing everyone of my friends and family. I saw so many of my friends bloody and broken..I remember my brother was hanging from a tree upside down blood dripping down..
But she had a cold room in her garage with a door that could be locked from the inside. So I ran there and I remember locking the door and finally feeling safe and I turn around and the lady I lived with was hanging from the ceiling stuffed into a shopping bag with her head and legs sticking out. And that's all I remember.
I kind of remember thinking how weird it was that it was the middle of the day and there was blood every where but no body saw it..
Nightmares like evry dream are your emotions trying to work themselves out.. negative and positive emotions..
My worst nightmare ever was dreaming about my oldest son dying. It started out that I was in a mall and going up an escalator and there was a man standing in front of me..he was a complete stranger. Then there were gunshots ringing out and the man in front of me went down and I leaned down and picked his head up and there was a shot right in the middle of his forehead and then all of a sudden the man's face became that of my son!
Needless to say I woke up panicked and crying uncontrollably.
Why I dreamed it? I have no idea. Not really sure now what the circumstances in my life were at the time. All I know is that it shook me up pretty bad.
i had a dream im not quite sure if it was a nightmare or not but i was in this house i the middle of the woods and im nots sure what for but i was looking for something in what appeared to be a totally destroyed music room, there was a piano so im guessing it was a music room. But anyway i was searching for something and apperantly there was someone in the house with me because i heard movement in the other room. well i bend dow and pick up this necklace with a large blue gem hanging from the gold chain, and when i looked up there was a window that coverd the entire wall and there was this huge gorrilla type thing running straight for me, well out of no where this man dressed in all black with a long black trenchcoat type thing comes bursting thorugh the door just as the gorilla is about to break through the window. the man wrapps his arms around me and the gorilla stops and roars in anger then turns silently and dissapears into the woods. well the man leaves and eventually the gorilla comes back running at me in a rage but the man comes and puts his arms around me again and the gorilla leaves well this time the man leads me into his, room where the window still covers the wall, with him and the next time the gorilla comes he presses his hands against the window and roars so loudly the house shook. the man walked slowly and calmly over to the window ant the gorilla fell over dead. and as the man was turning and i thought i was going to see his face for the first time, i woke up.
For me A nightmare is a good dream, and a good dream is a nightmare. My worse dream was when I was back in Brooklyn, and I was in the roof of the building were I used to live. I felt and drop 5 floor down and I really hit the ground. That was so Cool!!!
I will attempt to make this short.
I was around four years old and I had a dream with the same image in for quite a number of years.
I awoke to find this vampire* in my bedroom. It told me not to be scared because it wanted to show me something. I remember being shit scared! So I took it's hand and did as I was told. It didn't show me anything other than to kill and oddly to protect myself. I killed people with just my mind and then we feasted on them together. I also remember growing stronger in my dreams and rebelling against it eventually. I didn't do nice things to people, so much blood...which came more into the dream the older I got. (more imagination)
It was as if when I look back on it now it needed me to complete the horror for it to feast as well
*Now at four I shouldn't have known about Vampires...I had never seen one..Whether I subconsciously picked up on a conversation and it sparked with something I don't know. I would not discount this.
All I know is that my vampire was like nothing you see in the films...I suppose mine was created by me. Mine was like an energy, a shape, wind, a whisper that sometimes can not be heard, only felt. A feeling that I eventually liked
My Mum and Dad were aware of my nightmares and did what they could I suppose, to help.
