Here's an opportunity for you to throw out your contest ideas. I want to start another contest up within a week or so. Not all ideas will be practical, easy to implement, or accepted, but nonetheless, throw some stuff out there ;)
Best Profile picture, with 10 'normal' (non admin members) as judges, or with a voting system using names as THE vote, rather than a selection of members to vote for.
A writing contest.
Cancer chooses the topic and the form he wants it in, such as essay or article form and how many words it should be.
And Cancer, imagesinwords and the Master Vampires be the judges.
LadyK, I like that idea. Of course you might want to ask for x number of educated volunteers to judge the papers on top of any admins that wanted...just to keep them from getting flooded etc.
Of course I favour "VRs Smartest" contest but hey that's just me :P
Picture, essay, poetry, 'VRs Best Members' contests etc to me are all good ideas. Hunting for bats can be fun but it greatly limits involvement, scope and of course has been done a lot. Profile contests are good but they still tend to favour certain groups of members, even with the best of guidelines.
I know this wouldn't be something all that easy but I do think it would set VR apart even more so (and very much in a good way) and do things that create a VR culture, community far beyond societies and such. Things like cook books (even if they're just online), annual-bi annual contests to pick out things like best admins, most helpful members, most admired forum participants etc has been something I've wanted to do (and worked on tons) for some time.
How about a Vampire Quiz?
Questions like What year did the first Vampire Movie come out?
Idk just a thought...
I would go for a best photo contest. Pick a certain area or topic to be photographed, no manipulations allowed. For example, like a cemetery picture, or a nature picture.
I would also go for a best manipulated photo contest. Just like the above with a certain area to be photographed and then manipulated.
That way it would give people who don't have editing software a chance to win.
It seems a lot of members got into the Bat contest, why not another one but with a twist. This time use the VR loggo and to progress you need to answer questions about VR and topics within the Dark Network.
for example: where can you find the following statement? Vampire Rave offers several advertising opportunities for your business.
Then members will have to search VR for the answer.
Not all questions would have to come from the Vampire Manual, it could be anything within the Dark Network. That way members will be search the whole site.
Just a thought.
VR Trivia. Sort of like the bat contest..the answers would be within the site and you have to hunt them down.
What about a new VR logo, or a best house concept and the winner gets their own house, or a new skin for VR. Feature member of the month maybe. Worse profile. Or what about our own VR awards.
best profile picture,
obviously not rude or anything like that
I meant like an 8th house but without the master vamp status. Though come to think about it if a member did win they would have to been 100% committed. Anyways im just throwing ideas out there lol...
I like Xzavier idea for the simple fact it doesnt contain any sort of coding nessacary because you have to look at the fact some members are not real good at making grade A stamps as others.
And same thing for best profile or profile picture if you have coding for your profile it can greatly enhance your chances of winning.
-I have seen some great non pm profiles but they just are rare for the simple fact again not everyone is good with coding.-
See the bats was tricky because the only people who really were in the hunt were people who spend a lot of time on here we need something that truely lets everyone participate.
Like they said a poetry contest doesnt sound to bad someone reads it and it provides a high chance for everyone to get to it.
-Send like a system message since people are more likely to look at that moreso then the forum and all so have the houses and covens get involved with spreading it out so it gets to more people-
And a group of different people of any level if they have the skill to perform say the grading of the essays not just high level or low level or rank or any of that stuff a group of people grading.
-I say this because I know it wont seem like it to you guys but if I was a level one whelp I would be kind of nervous entering a contest graded by nothing but high level people for the simple reason I would automatically think only select people who are known would get selected-
That just a un-baised hint hint from a person thats in the middle not to high or to low talking.
By the way for those who really read this and dont just judge it for a few select words but as a whole idea and look past the lines I personally thank you for your patience.
-bows-
All you have a lovely evening or day which ever my meds for my knee which is healing from surgery are making me sleepy.
Lets have another hunt but this time using some of the other sites of The Dark Network; Sci Fi section, Power Punks.
Finding Doctor Who - in the order that they appeared in the show! Looking for JLA members, Enterprise crew, etc.
Hunts work good and you can't google to win.
I like the quiz ideas, something like a treasure hunt to find the question and to move forward you need to answer the question correctly.
There should be a contest where everyone can participate, all good ideas but there is always a number of people who can't participate, due lack of time on the site, no writing, coding, artistic skills, no camera, etc...
So far I liked the quiz ideas even though I can be online only once a week but that's the only contest I could participate in.
why not a game on who can submit the most creative thing for the vampire data base.
or a small submission on why we like vr so much and each month we post one of the submissions on a page
... and thinking of kittens. Stone soup! Find various veggies and other ingredients throughout the WHOLE Dark Network to make the most delicious soup ever.
What can I say? Kittens inspire me. :D
Inspired by the Sandbox threads:
Find the alphabet. Starting with "A" and going the whole way through to "Z." In order of course. Now where did I see that "Q?"
Or should hide those cats in the Sandbox?
A concept could be, something like the DayBreakers contest that just past. Answer a few questions, then if one qualifies... Click certain links that correspond with easter eggs. Put coding in with said easter eggs, that link to other destinations. Cancer will have the proof that the links were clicked by those members on record from coding. A storyline unfolds, and a winner recieved.
Cancer creates said storyline for the contest. The first individual to go through the whole storyline gets a passcode. Either the passcode is the same for everyone, or randomly generated. Or a picture style reward is given much like the applications on myspace and facebook. For proof that the storyline was completed.
Sounds complex and complicated, but worth a shot. Beats having the admin read hundreds of essays.
Just a thought.
See the problem with a poem or story contest, is you have those people who are just not creative at all. Same thing goes for graphics based contests.
And then you have those contests like the Coven Wars contests where, some people may not be online all the time, the coven is about to be disbanded, some people aren't in a coven, or something along those lines.
See, I think, if we did a profile contest, a theme should be picked and then it should be in two parts: One part for Premium members, and one for basic members.
The awards for basic members should be the opportunity at a Premium membership. 1st gets a lifetime, 2nd gets a year, 3rd gets a six month, that sorta thing. Then, the awards for the premium members like, they could either buy premium members for a member of their choice, and a shirt, or something like that, ya know, really get the Basic members involved. I think with profile contests, some Basic Members become intimidated, because they think their profiles will not be up to par.
A couple of years ago, I participated in a Halloween Profile Contest with a basic membership, and was given a 1 year premium membership essentially for having the guts to do it.
If we could have a unique theme for a profile contest, and put it out there for EVERYONE to participate in, without putting so much points into things only a premium member can do, I think it would truly become a contest for the masses.
How about a true test of Vampirism?
All can play!!!
Cancer decides on a place, and a room in this place, (IRL) in real life where he will have a large chalk or marker board. He will write or draw something on the board, and with none of us having physical access to this place or room, we will travel to it beyond the flesh and see it as ghosts. Then first one to tell Cancer what it was wins!
Prize will be to have the rating system removed completely from their profile and to instantly gain a 100 level status to be completely void of all the childish religious covens.
For this to work, Cancer must speak out loud in this room of an open invitation for all to enter. Then we will have access.
Add a VR video contest to the list. Best VR video with graphics, background music, and special effects. Some members already make them. Extra points to original music.
The VR network is about collecting Data, how about a contest to see who can submit the most items within a certain time span.
My idea is a cross between vvSoulshroudevv and thedarkwolfmans. Like a scavenger hunt, you start us off with the first clue and we go look for the "egg" and when we find it we either get another clue automatically or have to answer 1-5 questions in order to receive the next clue. You can hide an ample amount of eggs so it won't get blown through in a few hours and make some questions really easy and some really challenging.
i would like to have a profile contest for the people who do not have premiume memberships of any kind. i mean yeah those profiles are kick butt but many people cant affored to buy them .
so why not do one for the none and see what they are able to do with the coding they are able to do and what they wrote

I made the suggestion a while back, an Avatar Scavenger hunt.
Using the old "photo in the mirror" avatars, have people try and find things in the background of such avatars.
A stuffed animal.. underwear hanging from a bed post... toilet paper... etc.
It could be wildly entertaining. Ever really look close at some of the avatars around here?
I think any kind of scavenger hunt wouldbe fun
Cacer pick the items to be found, and the first to find them all wins..
Everyone usually likes a good hunt LOL
I love lady K's idea yet alot of stories unless it is done in waves like do one for like 5 levels at a time. do level 1 -25 , then 26 - 50 and so on then I think we could have a story contest.
just a few idea..
I rather like the hide and seek factor of the bats, to me it brought a lot more people into the contest.
Yes I think a scavenger hunt would be great too and span it over the other sites sci fi and such...
How about submitting things to the database?
This site was built upon and for the database, and though early members can't yet participate, it takes a very short amount of time to get to the level to submit. Have X amount of time and the person with the most approved submissions from start to finish wins to help us expand. Maybe need a few more procurators though - the current ones might be kicking me for even suggesting this. lol ;)

I think the idea behind contests is usually to get members participating in ways other than what they would normally do to gain status.
I could see the contest running something along the lines of putting fake entries, or links in existing entries to clues that lead you to the next entry you have to find... the first person to solve all the links in order wins.
That way it will highlight the diversity of the database, as well as all of the hard work done by the procurators instead of thrusting more work upon them for a contest.
Just saying.
I have to agree with Birra on this one. Database entries, while a good idea, there's really not much more, (unless something else, ie: a movie, comes out that is new) that could be really added. There are a vast array of database entries already. There is a member in the Coven of Fratrem Draconis that has been having problems with adding a poem to the database. So that idea may be a little off the fence, so to speak.
What about a poetry, or article inclusion?

Perhaps a Vampire Rave t-shirt designing contest would be fun. I also always thought the calendar contest was good as well. Maybe even a contest to design a new logo/banner sort of thing for advertising of the web site?
|
birra Venerable Sire (132) Posts: 463 Honor: 2 [ Give / Take ] |
I do like that idea. Create some new designs for VR merchandise - t-shirts, boxers, etc.. If you win, you get a free shirt or whatever item you designed.
The merchandising side of VR hasn't been too dynamic. The store could use a little variety, but I also understand the complications that go along with that, in terms of printing, setups, stocking merchandise and other considerations.
Just something to consider when it comes to speed (The first person to..... wins) is to remember that some members have slower computers than others.
Also, ill bet many on the site would think it necessary to try to get away with using automatic page turners and other codes against the rules
Creating a New Logo for some items would be fun to do.
Course we could also have a fight to the death!
But of course maybe I'm just a smidge sadistic. :)
What about something really simple.
Like a game added to the games section, a time allocated and the one with the highest score wins?
That way it's not limited to premium or regular members.
Everyone can play and have fun without any frustrations of looking for stuff, and may encourage those that can't be bothered looking for stuff.
Here is a random half baked idea:
How about a scavenger hunt that unlocks a different type of game. Then you have to win THAT game. Eh, that's probably clear as mud haha.
I would like to see a Society contest. Where the winning society gets a certain amount of favor.
I'll say it one more time..LOL.. 5x5x5 we all loved that game and a contest would be fun. Even if no favor was awarded you still earn favor from the pages viewed. No matter what type of contest VR adds not everyone will participate. As stated above several times not everyone is into creative writing or have the proper programming in place to praticipate in graphic work.
How about a twist on a scavenger hunt...you give a clue to something in the database. It leads to another item in the database and have say 15 to 20 items.Cancer of course chooses the prize(s) and the first one to find all of them wins, first come first serve.

I like Jack's idea! It could be like brain teaser games or something and then that unlocks the next and so forth..... or perhaps you win the game and it gives you the next clue to find the next one or something like that. That's very creative, but not sure how hard to code that would actually be. lol. Sounds like alot of fun though.
Scavenger hunts are fun and also time consuming. We ahve them in our coen every 3 months and there are always 4 winners. and 4 categories ( like Database, profiles, members articles and house) for example and once all items of 1 category, is found then they ( the member who turns them in) get the 2nd until they get all 4 categories.
it seems to be an enjoyable contest for all.
so I also think one would be fun for us to do plus members may actually read and learnmore on VR as a plus. LOl
Just an idea and opinion.
I do like the idea of the scavenger hunt.
I like the way Cancer had the last contest set up. After you find the first one, then you get the clue to the second one and so on and so forth.
How about "Find it in the forums" For one month, hide the same certain little picture in one of the many forum threads. The person to find the picture hiding in the forums everyday is the winner for that particular day. The person who finds the picture first for the most amount of days for the month would be the winer.
Oh yeah...I also like LadyK's idea but would like to elaborate a littile further on that one. Maybe an essay about What VR means to you and how it has changed your life!
love the bat game. Seems so many ppl got involved so I think contest along those lines would involve more ppl then a writing contest and such.
I just thought of this..!
What about a vampire movie trivia contest?!
Have a series of questions/ quotes from famous films that have a vampire-type theme.
The questions should be timed, so that people don't try to cheat and look them up.
The first one to answer all the questions correctly wins
I go for a Profile contest. As the profile that were created to influence and to educate the reader. Profile with a touch of class. LOL
ooOOOooo, I like the VirginMary's idea of an essay about VR, and how it is has changed your life! The prize could even be a automatic scholarship certificate for the TOS :)
how bout a 1000 story,
the best 10 people can vote for the winner
all great ideas
what about a posting forum contest
that will last a month
where you will be given clues to 10 - 20 different threads throughout VR
in each thread yo will have to post wha the topic is about or comment about the above post
if in sandbx you will have to participate before moving on
every day Cancer will send out the new clues for that day hunt
there will be a total of 6 winners
3 will be for the first 3 members who found them all or the closets to finding them all
the other 3 will be members who were in the top 100 winners and finished with the quickest time
Xzavier had a great idea...furthering on LadyK's idea. I like it.
And some people whom will remain nameless, are very ignorant and plain rude. Smoking pot is not the worst thing in the world someone could be doing. I do not do any drugs, so I don't appreciate that comment. Just voicing my opinion here.
A single riddle is placed on a vampirerave page, all can see it, but its no ordinary riddle. Imagine one where you receive no help, no aid, not even googling the words will work. Purposely made so that you are all alone, leaving your mind to face a small splot of words placed like army privates at a ceremony. The letters neatly lined up next to each other in perfect union, it almost could be your worst nightmare...
The challenge spoken is simple; figure our the riddle, go to the page just for it and submit your answer. But there is one string attached, if you get it wrong you can not place another answer until three days have past, making it grueling that you know that many other members may get it right. Even if you did figure it your are helpless with no chance for winning.
This contest drew to my attention due to the fact the last contest here was won under a single day. This like some before it will make it long and truly a challenge.
The reward is up to the staff along with what the riddle would be, but make sure you can't find it by google or yahoo. It must be unique from the minds of the master vamps if not the founder of vr himself. And only he would know the one answer out of them all.
A writing contest would be great. There are lots of very original ideas among our members and it would be lots of fun to see what people come up with.
Don't get me wrong when I say this but not everyone likes writing so writing something in the lines of a story and so forth might not be a wise idea.
The bat contest or the contest dealing with daywalker would be good because it gets you into the site and gets you to look at more databases and so forth. It can be used to help with ones levels.
Perhaps something of a stretched out riddle. Something relating to VR of course. Unravel clues sporadically over the course of a few days or weeks with the end result being a code for a chain of page visits that unlocks a secret page containing the final riddle. The first to put all the clues together wins.
Fighting tournaments and cards like magic the gathering! :)
I like the Vampire Movies quiz..also possibly the photography competition..i.e best gothic image etc, from modern society...
Since the blu ray and other search games seemed to work out well, this one will definately catch on.
The game is called The Secret Vampire.
Rules:
1. The Prince appoints any random member of VR
2. The person chosen will carry a designated mark
3. The designated mark must be put somewhere on their profile whether it be in the portfolio, journal, just somewhere on the profile
4. If the mark is found, there will be a designated thread where participants will say who they think the Secret Vampire is
5. First Person(s) to find the Secret Vampire wins
6. In the event of a tie or debate, The Prince has final say or whomever he appoints has final ruling.
Best short story with a word limit, illustrated maybe, winner gets special stamp for profile maybe call it "The Golden Fang Award"
Perhaps a book or movie quote contest.
Post various quotes from a movie or book. The first person to find the quotes and give the name of the book as well as the character that said the given quote wins.
I really like WinterRaven's idea with the movie quotes!! Maybe they could limit it to Vampire Movie Quotes! Or another movie catagory. That way it would make the contest less vast.
Amar - They already did the profile contest hun. However, giving someone else a chance to win best profile is a pretty good idea. Or Most Unique as you called it.
The problem however, is that 75% of the people won't even look at the profiles and rate fairly. It's a popularity contest, ya know? So enter the profile contest to see who's the most popular!! lol jk All kidding aside.. we could run a Unique Profile and a Most Popular Vampire Raver contest at the same time. That way it would be less biased, and the person that
does have the most unique profile would have a better chance of winning, ya know?
i remember when i was in school , you probably do too, but there was this game WHERE IN THE WORLD IS CARMEN SAN DIEGO..
throughout the game you had to answer riddles and solve problems then get that will get u closer n closer in findeing her..
by that said i think if cancer did something like that, that would be fun... it could be called WHERE IN VAMPIRE RAVE IS CANCER or WHERE IN THE DARK NETWORK IS CANCER.... just throughing it ou there o.O
great idea HB especially when you have to search all the groups besides only in VR
or any hidden contest that makes you visit all groups Bloody Feather, VR, Sci Fi and PP as they are all different in some way
a year in history of vampire rave contest where members have to answer 25-50 questions and get 100% right and make it so the questions are different for each member
set up in multiple question hints of the naswers so the contestants have to find the answers (there will be false hints and real hints) using the hints that where given and set it up that you have so many minutes or hours to answer a certain amount of questions
Why not a contest of the arts? Whoever posts the best pro-vampire rave video or story wins something good, I suppose.
I have an idea. I think that we should do something like high school superlatives. For example: Best looking boy/girl, Most likely to be slapped, wittiest girl/boy Ect......
Except, make it more appealing to VR with topics like: Most likely to bite/be bitten, darkest poet, most wicked smile Ect.
I think they should run for these positions meaning who ever gets the most votes wins the tittle. This is so no one gets offended. For prizes (if necessary) they could receive a banner with there title on it. please tell me what you think.
Thank you for your time.

High school superlatives, although fun would cause drama.... Mainly because not everyone can behave as well as others....
I do like the Where on VR is Cancer idea though... make it like the game... a series of clues that lead to where Cancer is and he has minions you find in between before reaching the actual location of Cancer... perhaps for a fun twist use the admins as his minions. LOL! When you find the answer to the first clue, it will take you to a page that will have an icon of a minion on that page and you click the icon to get the next clue.
Sounds like fun and can even show a sense of humor in it as well. lol.
Contest brain fart here.
A combo idea of one contest we had with a Daybreakers contest. Where we had to find the clues (not the dvd's) in which when you found one it cleared and had to find the next one in a different place.
Take that idea, and use the 20 questions game idea. where you have to guess the person, place, thing, or idea at the end.
Awesome idea Robin! Ive lked many of the ideas written.. (like the 5x5x5 contest... I very much miss that game! I was so upset when they got ride of it.. but I understand the reasoning! Anyway...) I think a few should be combined.. like the treasure hunt.. but instead of clue to were the next one is hidden.. have a piece of a riddle.. have the treasures be pictures.. any theme you like.. but put them in random areas of the site.. so that you dont actaully get them in order... so that the riddles lines arent in order.. so when you find all the treasures/ pieces of the riddles, you have to un-scramble the riddle and then solve it... just an idea... probly doesnt make sence.. but thought id share it none the less..
this is just an idea but has any one thought about doing a poety contest i find them enlightening and to see other poems people can come up with my self i personly like to wright poems but thats me it could be a good idea to do one if people agree with it ^_^
I agree with the above member. A poetry contest, with the theme: "VAMPIRES". And the Immortals group, are the one picking the winner. Every immortal pick a poem; at the end, the poem that was more picked will be the winner. The only down about my idea: Immortals are not allowed to participate. LOL
Okay, folks. Please take some time to read down through previous posts to this thread before posting. Repeat posts or posts agreeing with other members suggestions will be deleted. Thank you.
Ha! GD And the 5x5x5!
As one who has found her passion for writing again......I think a writing contest with the theme being any sort of creative story....collabrations are not acceptable
And Cancer, Imagesinwords, LadyK, And Joli to be the judges....
I am not 100% sure if this was suggested, my computer is acting slow again and didn't load this forum properly but...
For a contest...
How about a data base scavenger hunt?
The data base is full of cool vampire items, like any scavenger hunt, base a thread off of what you have to find in our data base and the first to find all the items wins.
For example- say you have the thread up, post a certain amount of items that are currently in the data base, and have people find the item, place something there that would be "click-able" like how the blue ray discs were, and the first to find the total amount wins. But have an upside where they have to actually rate the items for it to count. Maybe the prize could be a year premium account or something?
It would give people who normally are not active or who don't go into the data base and see or rate the items there a reason to do so.
Just a thought.... :)
Thinking about this seriously.. I like Borked's idea of a Vampire Trivia quiz except this time around people would be eliminated as they got the answers wrong. Until there is only one person left "in" and that person would be....
What about a Favors elimination contest, Coven V's Coven, they can be picked out of a hat by Cancer, the winner goes onto the next level then to the quarter finals, semi finals and then finals, each one can be done over 5 days (monday to friday) for each teams and run over a number of weeks. ( kinda like they did with the world cup, btw, I don't like football )
One it will boost up members favors and two it will hopefully make more people active and get them more involved like it did in Sexy's favor race.
How about you decide on whether or not to ask for everyone to turn in a summary for a short story about vampires, werewolves,or witches.Whoever is chosen has to have he most creative creation of words. The winner of the summary makes the story to post here.
post something that requires brains as well as activity similar to a scavenger hunt with clues to next piece of the puzzle you have to figure out the clues and not just stumble around and find things.
you give us a story and we have to write a poem about the story
Okay how about an actual Samhain Costume contest where members of Vampire Rave take a picture of themselves in costume and post it on October 31st. Have a few judges and I don't know what you could do for a prize. Maybe just something fun to get everyone participating.
I don't know.
What about a new VR logo, or a best house concept and the winner gets their own house, or a new skin for VR. Feature member of the month maybe. Worse profile. Or what about our own VR awards.
maybe a psi house. or lycantroupe. its v.r. but. its more than that now. we refer to what it started as way to much and not what its come to be. a home for many.
just thinkits a bit rascist. but..this is v.r. ...vampirerave. so yeah. may be compare friends list to messages sent ratio over a span. if they were returned..it counts. dont know what you d call that. but its an idea
Ok this may sound funny, weird, crazy, and a lot of other things as well.. but here goes nothing.
why not combine all the ideas into one and go from there.. let each person chose what category they want to use and then you decide what they have to do for whatever they have chosen from the list.. does that make sense or do i need to go back to bed and get up on the other side...lol
It might have been mentioned already but how about clickable icons placed in the database that lead to other places in the Dark Network with certain information on those pages that form a riddle. That riddle is the major theme of a writing contest. The writers then put together a short story about the themed item and submit to a page that lets all premium members vote just like the profiles and portfolios. The contest lasts for two months and the prize is a lifetime membership, runner up gets a year and third place gets 6 months or something. Any honorable mentions can get a special Mark to help them level up. The final judges are the sires on who are excluded from submission, who get a say in how close the entries got to the theme for tie breakers with a special "sire only" vote button.
Need a contest of member created frames for the webcams...
I am just curious..
But did anyone read all the posts before actually... Posting?
I always see repetitive posts...
Especially in this thread.
:P
How about hiding a bunch of images that are Cancer's head and have people try and find them, make it harder than the last one, and make the contest winners receive 'limited edition' items. ;)
1st, 2nd, and 3rd prices only- and have the first place winner receive the limited edition prize? XP
Not sure if it has been suggested or not, but maybe a contest in which everyone either writes a song lyrics or poetry about vampires, and the winner either gets their poem showcased on the site, or their song performed by a vampire band....(and I know that there are vamp bands on here)...and gets to partake in the video for the song.
How about a best journal contest?
Basic idea being:
The VR Admins all agree on a top 20 and then it be put to poll, until a top ten is reached, further knocking that down to a top 5, and the first, second, and third recive a prize of some sort.
Just a thought.
I like the idea where everyone can participate in the contest even unaffiliated sires who choose not to be in a society. I also like the idea of a trivia contest where everyone can participate. It could be set up much like a poll where all can answer the questions but where the person who gets the most correct in the trivia could win the offered prize on a contest prize. For the judges it would be an easier role to judge if the poll type trivia could be set up to automatically calculate the answers to a percentage, like the acolytes test possibly. That would create less work, if at all for the judges but it would allow everyone to participate equally.
How about a contest for a new Vampire Rave Logo?
There's alot of talented artists on VR.
Perhaps a Web cam Host contest were houses judge chat cams ran by covens.
How about a do what you are best at contest?
Then everyone can participate and create something original and special in their own ways.
There can be:
- Writing
- Drawing
- photos
- Music
..
Then you can choose your own way to be creativ and make something for the contest.
But then it would be best with only one topic.
Then the judge can choose wich artwork is the best or others may rate for the artwork they feel most attracted by?
Then everyone gets a fair chance to participate in the contest, socialize and have fun :)!
Beth
Here is something I always see in other forums I frequent and it can be quite fun to do.
Create a topic, can be anything dark network related
have a contest to where a person creates a poem, artwork, or short story about the topic and then enter their submissions. Each category ( art, story, poem ) will have a top 3, and then those top three will be voted from in each category via all members of the dark network on which one will be #1.
I really like the writing idea, the most creative fantasy storie wins?
Best profile pic and the year the first vampire movie came out
The best profile picture idea is a good one but a contest of home made avatars would be better. The contest could be for original animated avatars which have to be self made not found on the internet.
and if you have no idea how to do that, you cant participate?
Everyone is suggesting contests that they think THEY would have the best chance at. Not necessarily contests that are fair to ALL of the members.
Not meaning to shoot down anyone's idea but you need to take in account other members as well as yourself!
I like the idea of a vampire trivia contests, where you have finalists, then give them a trivia contest totally different than the first
