black magic i believe is based on one persons practice. others may inform you better. black or white magic is like i said based on ones practice
some wiccas take blood magic as evil. Some take it as being the stroungest magic you can do but i think ost of them dont do it.
Wiccans will generally not use blood magic but they will use blood for other purposes. I know several that have, and do, use menstrual blood for consecrating their ritual items. A drop or two will also be used to seal a vow. I have also used a drop of blood in my BOS as part of my personal signature. Because of the "harm none" belief, you will see very little blood used in wicca.
Yes, traditional Wiccans do use certain forms of blood magic.
Blood magic is anything using blood. And for most WIccans it is a few drops of one's own blood, either as a sacrifice to higher powers or to add strength to a working. There are also certian higher level Initiations that require a few drops of blood.
But Black Magic, that being sacrificing a life to gain your ends, or usng magic to take a life, is not accepted. The sacrifice of a life is something most Wiccans will look upon with great contempt. All life is sacred. Killing and harming is wrong, and karma is a bee-yotch. There are still some Wiccans who might turn to this in extreme cases, but you will probably go your whole life without evr meeting one of these people.
I am not wiccan, but I do use blood in some of my magick, all depends on if I am doing a spell that requires ot be sceal or to be enhance, or boost, other then that, unless its is to affect another person in a good way I wont use blood, I did use the blood of another person to sceal the spell as it was a spell they wanted or requestedme to do on them.
For the squeamish, a witch or Wiccan does not need to use real blood for that extra boost that is sometimes needed when the Moon or other attributes are not in favor for a spell. You can use "dragons blood" instead. It also smells really good. :)
Billy, thank you for the sugestion, I never taugh of using other blood then human blood, but I will keep it in mind, I am only wondering if it property are as strogn as the human blood?
That's what "dragons blood" is use mainly for. That extra boast or "to make things go." I also Love the aroma and add it to several of my favorite recipes. If you don't have it on hand - get it.
Intresting..please tell me more about the different uses of blood in Magick...
Well, who hasn't made "blood brothers" with someone? Made one with a girl friend once. We always remained the best of friends. That's blood magic. And very simple.
Blood magic can vary from one person's idea of it to another.
I've used blood in my spellwork as a booster.. signifies my intent in my opinion..
And Dragon's blood does smell wonderful and works just as well too :)
Sorry, i'm gonna really show myself up here...Dragons blood? I'm guessing it's a blood sub but can someone explain further please?
not usually... that's bad magic, wiccans usually don't do bad magic. If they do, they're bad wiccans
Yes, I heard of the use of menstrual blood in its use for some rituals.
Some friends of mine have used there own blood to consecrate their own ritual tools.
I heard of using blood and even urine as ingredients for a witches bottle - in that sense the witches bottle was used to protect a dwelling and the blood and urine was the essence of those who lived there.
As a Wiccan, I would say that a real Wiccan wouldn't use another's blood against his or her will or use blood to wich harm against someone.
I have used blood in spells before but i have never heard of blood magick that is something new to me...
Hey carnalxviolence
http://www.botanical.com/botanical/mgmh/d/dragon20.html
to explain this herb excuse for blood, honestly I don’t know why everyone’s so squeamish about real blood in your magic
Blood magick is extremly potent, and deeply personal. I don't think many use it, because it is thought of as "distastfull" to most.
Meh, that would be those young souls who find the thought of having to bleed for anything to get it to come to pass, to big of a price to pay....
Some wiccans use blood as binding magik, but that is all I can say on this subject.
Once and for all, there is no black, nor white, it is all grey...Depends on how you use it.
Interesting...What rites and rituals can blood be used in....
I think the main reason people use blood in their spells or magick is because it helps the spell or magick to be stronger, just like if you cast a spell on someone and you use their hair or nail clippings, those items helps the spell to be stronger...
Thanks Lavisbre, although I do agree with you, what is wrong with using your own blood? I always thought that using your own would tie the spell to you, and make it more potent because you've added a 'sacrifice' almost to it...
it really does depend on the practitioner however black magic in general isnt "evil" because in wicca the is no evil nesicarily but we just dont bbeleive in evil. Dark magicks are only bad depending on the will and purpose of the user.
Wiccans generally don't use blood magic, though a variety of other religions do.
I surely have never heard of the practice. I would say no.
So were calling it the darker side of magick because there is a sacrifice there....Well what about the hair clippings and the fingernails or whatnot...that would also be a sacrifice therefore that in itself would be the darker side of magick right....
Components such as hair, fingernails, and other personal effects, tie to them under correspondence laws.
Its just a way to link. Not something they really sacrifice, cause its something they give up anyway.
But generally the magicks done on these items require a sacrifice of some sort anyway so yes it would be in the darker side of the spectrum.
Generally those of the light tend to think their magicks don't cost them anything.
the blood is mearly a link to the spiritual force used for the spells, ehter your own or the one of the spell to who it is for or against, as a wiccan (I am not but know alittle) I am sure they dont use other's blood for sure
It depends on what you mean by Blood Magick..
There are several different meanings... If you use it as a sacrifice............ A price to be paid, then some do...... yes........... But not all
I wouldn’t call it black or dark magic.
It’s the user and the intent
Why some religions tossed a goat down a mountain and if it died before it hit then all was forgiven.
sacaficing was big in all religions till presently
Blood is one of the strongest components to any spell casters stock of items the seal of blood locks in that certain element.
Well because i consider it both but my friend maranda is all "Thats a dark magick, you shouldnt be practicing that...bleh, bleh....
Well, if you're doing sacrifice it's moreso death magick than blood magick...
What's black magick or dark magick is really relevant to the person's views...But if you're Wiccan, then you probably beileve in the threefold law.
Just keep that in mind.
blood magic?
i am wiccan and i have never heard of blood magic
white and black yes but blood.....is that new
Blood Magick is self Explainatory, it is Magick that has blood as a major component of any spell...its a necessity...
There are certain things which posses much power and blood is one of them - being Wiccan I can say, yes -blood is used sometimes as long as it is your own!! (Ladies, ever make a Witches bottle - okay then 'nough said)
One thing I will tell you is yes, we do. But it is something that is inherited from parents as well as given by the spirits. It is a gift of magic that can never be taken by any way short of draining our very blood. It is used as a type of will-based magic that would be used at a whim. The majority of people do not know how to concentrate it into pure energy, or how to access it at large when needed.
I have used my blood magick as a reserve for the immensely draining circumstances I have been in in the past.
A few of my friends who practice wicca really got freaked out when I used my own blood to mark my name on my personal items,I have not inherited anything from anyone,I just felt that I had to do this in order to cleanse my things,I also have worn a blood vial with holy water and a few drops of my girlfriends blood inside which to me meant the cleansing of one's soul.
Well I personally don't feel that Blood Magick would be practiced in just ONE particular religion, nor do I believe that it would be considered 'dark' magick of any sort.
From the way I understand it, the use of Blood in any magickal working is said to strengthen the spell or ritual.
ive used blood in a few spells of mine. it always seems to work well
well i have heard of blood magick before but as to wiccan i really dont think they use it much but it does really enhance your magick alot me and my bff did a spell for her with our blood to help her love to come it worked to. It was the first time i used blood in my magick and will contiue to do so or use dragons blood.
I have used it a few times but it takes more energy out of me personally. Id perfere other methods but it seems to work. I used it in a sumoning spell and now i feel more connected to what was summoned than i have any of the others
that would be an idividualistic question. Every one is different in their practices
Blood magick can be used to strengthen spells, but only because it draws the energy directly from the blood rather than the person actually focusing their energy. That is about the only reason I see to use one's own blood in any spell or ceremony.
A blood sacrifice is a gift to the Goddess and is used to amplify the effects of the spell. It is given freely and does not involve loss of any life. Killing would make it automatically black magick. Black and dark are different. Black = evil while dark is aligned with the night, nocturnal magick. Whether a spell is good or evil is strictly a matter of the spellcaster's intent.
I believe magic is only good or bad by how it is used...
It is a matter of what the blood is being used for. It is powerful in counteracting curses and spells sent against you. It is also used to bless and sanctify objects such as athames.
So there are 'good' rites and uses for blood in magick.
Blood is the very essence of life and of the soul. There is no good substitute. Whether it is your blood or the blood of a consentual participant it is good and proper to use.
It has nothing to do with 'bad' or 'black' magic.
Good magic is other centered and cast for the blessings. Black or bad magic is ego centric and cast for the purpose of enriching ones self to the detriment of others. It is the purpose of the spell that makes magic good or bad, not the methods.
Magic is good or bad based on the intentions of the person using it
Blood magic is everywhere. SOme use it some don't, but you will probably see very little actual human blood used in Wiccan rituals.
I personally do not know if wiccans use blood magick, but i know that a lot of people use blood in the magick they practise...
Some say yes and some say no....How would I know what the truth is....
Its my understanding that some Wiccans use it.. and some believe its Taboo. But your main question was do they? Yeah, I've heard quite a few accounts of blood being used in rituals, although mainly it was the person who was working the Magick's blood.
Most forms of ritualistic magick casting call for blood use, but almost always given freely from someone in the circle, or the person actually casting. It becomes "black" magick when you are taking blood from an unwilling victim.
To make the difference really clear:
Satanists, Ancient Celts(Druids), even the older Catholic rituals called for blood from sinners, innocents, and sacrifices alike. More often then not, they were taken unwillingly during the course of the Ritual. A woman who is taken and killed during a sacrificial ritual who isn't willing, is Black Magick. The effects may be potent, but they will always be negative, and it will ALWAYS bite the user in the @$$.
On the other hand, if your enacting a healing spell, on yourself, or a willing participant, using Blood as a catalyst and a foci is potent, and tends to have very distinct, noticable results. My Dad has lived with HIV for almost 12 years now, in no small part to our efforts of Will to heal him. *crosses fingers* Here's to another 12. =D
Blood is used by Dianic wytches in their rituals. These covens are usually all woman, and they use their own moonblood. More traditional covens use blood in the handfasting ritual, each person making a cut on their hand and their blood is mingled with the others to form a bond. There is no rule, that I know of, which forbids the use of blood in Wicca. I refer here to covens organized as in the Brit trads (Gardernarians, Alexandrian, NROOGD) which have been around for 40 or 50 years. I personally use blood in magickal rituals, but not practicing as a wytch.
traditional wiccans do use certain forms of blood magic. there are a few that see it as evil and yes i agree it depends on ones practices and a lot say what you do can come back to get you
blood or sacraficial magick,i do not find many wiccans opennly saying they use it but i do believe it is still practiced just in a more secretly fashion as not to cause so much atention to themselves and their art.
I am Wiccan, but I don't practice blood magick. Some do, however. It is not evil, for they see it as an alternate form of supplying energy for their spells. Also, sometimes, they do it as a sacrificial sort of thing.
My dad....yes my dad was a wiccan so i do know about it, but i don't remeber alot of it because he became a reformed christian....
I've not seen a reason to need to use it much... Much being the key.
usually it was to show my determination in offering and seriousness of it.
~ Wolf.
I must agree with Elemeth on that one.
The violent sacrifice of a life is against wiccan rede because it would disturb the harmony and the balance of the nature.
The natural life has a NET through all universe and any violent intrusion in that net is an act against Mother Nature.
Many christians though are false informed about that life sacrifices and that is a motive to dislike this ancient religion.
Conscient blood sacrifices were used on a large scale by the ancient wiccans, though.
wiccians are good so I very much doubt that they would.
Hey Bro. I do Blood Magic.Anuit in Egyptian rquests a blood alter. It isn't bad.Blood is the highest sacrfice you can do.Even 1 drop is good enough.
KA
Has done the Blood brothers thing before as a Kid but has not ever used any other kind of Blood Magic However loves the taste of blood and does drink it
some wiccans use there blood with there spells to strengthen them
In the past I have used blood in some spellworks, but as always it what the true intent is I do not see it as evil
no different then at a cathlic mass sayig and this is the blood of christ does that make that evil ?
I have never done a blood magick spell...of course there are many branches of Wicca. Alexandria, Gardnerian,Dianic and several more. So maybe one of these branches of Wicca does blood magick, maybe another branch does'nt. Many witches perform spells to have their cycles on the full moon, more powerful for their spells....so blood magick is most likely among Wiccans.
Some of the time blood is used in a very big spell to make the perfect finish and bind yourself with the energies being used.
Blood could mean both life and death.
Blood rituals are not unheard of in Wicca, but the blood tends to be the practitioners own blood, and sometimes, if the practitioner is female, is menstrual blood- no cutting involved!
when i was a wiccan, we did not focus on it, most frown upon it, though there are those that do it, mostly the eclectic wiccan
I am Wiccan & I do not use blood in any of my workings. That is not to say that others don't. I just choose not to.
Im not wiccan...nor do I speak for any group or being other than myself...but I see nothing wrong with using blood in rituals and things of the like. I dont agree with killing or anything like that. I think blood is life, and I should put my life into those things that are important to me, but I wont shed any blood unless I feel it important or necisary, which does not happen very often
Wiccans dont practice black magik
BUT someone who is not
experienced in Wicca can
experience evil manifestations
and be victim of possession
Wicca is very powerful
and in the right hands
it doesn't pose an evil threat
But as I said before
I have known of people
who just picked up Wicca
as a hobby or a game
and is not
People who don't take it
seriously or just get into
it for kicks or curiosity
should think it about it
twice
Its very serious
and very real
Nobody should take it
lightly
I am wiccan but I have not heard of witches that I know use blood magick. I have heard about how powerful the menstrual cycle is for women and performing magick during that time.

magick init self is neither good nor evil nor how we invoke it, it is our intent that makes it good or evil.
