When one dies does that mean that their journy has ended, or does it simply mean that a new journy has begun? I know that there is no real answer to this, but I'd still like to know what others think.

Well I think death is the journey because the second we are born we begin to die. We get older and weaker "we are growing up to do die".

death is death if you accept that, but we still haunt the earth, and if we succeed in resolving the injustice done to us, then we can rest in peace, somehow there is a way to actually get the body back if you use your spirit well, but life has to smile on you after you turn the frown upside down. And when fortune smiles on some and lets the rest go free, it is actually because of the fight in the individual to come back form the dead.

I have been dead for ten years, and today I have been reborn. I think I am 27 I was wrong about the 16 number.

3 cubed is 27. 27 is when my trip of death began.

3 X 3 X 3 = 27

The third time is a charm because it charms your existence.
Things come in threes, always remember that. If you believe in the number 3, which is the number representing femininty, then you will have lucky charms.

Guess each of us will find out when we die. Until then, only speculation. I do believe in reincarnation, and energy is released from this life and changes form.

See this kind of pondering usually just ends up in Headache for me... I do agree with the ideas of energy transferring, however to me it just seems like time is better spent living, than to get within the circular thoughts of this pondering.

It's right up there with the question of; "What is the meaning of life?" Why waste time from living it with a question that has so many varied correct answers you would be better off experiencing.

if the soul is a mortal soul, i believe yes, that is the end, nothing after, and that means no "sitting in the black of nothingness forever", there is no sitting, no consciousness at all. you will not be aware you do not exist. but if it is an immortal soul, or a soul with a will to live, then I think it can inhabit itself into other beings, or put itself in different places in order to survive. afterall, what living creature really wants to die?

well, this is an eternity issue of life after death, so this is another thread dealing on immortality.

That is why we are here, to examine immortality. But our love affair with death ends and then our immortal lifes end then too.

What Cancer is doing on this site is an attempt at immortality. All the profiles you create will last as long as the internet does, and then perhaps even after the internet ends all the information Cancer compiles will be on a chip that will be implanted in people of the future to govern their actions.

But your immortality that you seek ends when you give up on death. We are here to study death to seek longevity, and then because we cannot tolerate someone elses injustice to us on this site we erase our profiles. I have done this myself.

But I am more emotionally stable now where I can contribute my mind into the collective consciousness of the future by not deleting my profile this time around.

Your profiles are not etched in stone until you reach a cetain level. cancer does not even force us to buy the lifetime membership to gain immortality within the written word to the unborn, we can achieve it through merit, and even if we give up on the search for death and the lessons in life because we cannot deal with people and just as long as you do not delete your profile you will advance and in time, by the process of playing the Rave game and contributing to the collective vampire wisdom, we can come back and in the process we finally find something valueable to say.

I will say that there have been two girls on the site that rarely ever made posts, and in fact one of them started a thread that saved me, and because of them I can be here to get to the point where my profile becomes permanent. Now ultimately I will put thing on my profile that cannot be admitted in here, and this is where the value of YOUR profile comes in.

People doing research in the future in times of travail, will be doing research, googling or raving the chip in their heads, and they will see, wow that girl said this that saved Vampariah life and brought him back from the dead.

Let me find out about this dark angel. And then they will read all about you, if you choose to get an immortal profile , and face the eternal music of the future.

We all have a piece of the puzzle, stick around and weather the idiots.

....Does it...Matter?

I mean here:

You die either way, whether it is the end, you die. It's final, we can't avoid it.

So who cares? Who really cares? And if you do care, what's the point?

You'll die either way, just one way you might just cease to exist, in another way, you keep on going.

Either way, this is your life, Now.
Quit worrying about what's going to happen later because, in all honesty, it will happen no matter what so we might as well just relax. heheh

i think that you are in some type of purgatory for a while and you review the life you just got out of. after the review is done, you get to choose what or who you want to be/look like in a new life and you get to be reborn... so it's almost like a continutation kind of.

I believe in the possibility of reincarnation.... I don't think we completely "die". Even scientists will admit that energy doesn't cease, it changes form. I believe it will either be reincarnation, or a ghost, or possibly both.

I love most of the posts, really there is no way to tell about life after death... some have said that when they were in the hospital and flat lined, that they were floating over their body watching the people around them...

My opinion is that yes, they day you are born is the first day you start to die, also, I believe that we are born, then we are given a "destiny" no matter how minute, then once our bodily or soul time expires we eventually cease to function... and that after death our souls are recycled into the threads of life, where we are reborn some time after our initial death, whether or not it is a second, or a millenia before this happens...

... I agree with part of what you say ravencoloredrose...

but what i believe as well is that this is purgatory... that earth, these lives... that we are infact determining our fate for our next life... for example:

If you are a kind law abiding "being", then when you die your soul is weighed... then your next life is set and your soul is reinserted into the time stream and your memories are erased... or at least most of them...

I have many opinions i would love to share

I will pick up on something that Manslayer said, to highlight my thoughts.

He talked about the "out of body" experiences people have, usually when heart functions stop. Yes, we have these stories, and I don't doubt them. However, to say that they are signs of life after death is a bit premature. This is not death. This is just some sort of partial death. We only know what is out there when someone is "mostly dead," to steal a line from Princess Bride.

I think death is just a ending of what we know now. Whether you die tomorrow or years from now, that is the end of this lifes experiences. No one can really say what happens after this.

This body/shell may die in this life time, but ones spirit, or soul never dies. Energy for which I believe we are made up of continues on. So death is only the end in the lifetime.

Duality, if there is life and thus death. So if life is the begining, death is the end. So, Is Life the begining? Is being born the starting point, thus making dying the endpoint?

I think death IS the end.

In Vampyric terms death of the mortal soul gives rise to the eternal superior vampyre being.

In human terms I think they believe that death opens the next plain of existence ... unless of cousre death is by ones own hand ... in which case eternity follows ... inn the form of damnation (or so I have been told)

Even if someone were to claim to KNOW the answers to the afterlife (and lets be honest...many a religion and many a spiritualist makes that very claim)...even then, I think most would still be afraid to trust in that claim.

Death is either a finality or a very VERY large step (jump) into something else. Not many of us are eager to go taking those kind of leaps of faith in order to find out what is and what isn't and so one might say that it's fortunate that the decision is rarely ever ours to make. If it required a conscious effort to move into the 'next life'...likely few would take it.

It's a nice positive way to think.
Convenient, and it sort of makes sense.
But think of all the things you hear about here in this life already, ghosts, out of body experiences, psychic abilities.
With all of that and what I've experienced myself, I find it hard to believe that there ISN'T something afterwards.

I don't claim to know anything except for the things that I personally experience. I can't say I'm right and your not, and from all the threads on all such topics I see that we all believe or have ideas of our own. Who is to say that the life we front here on VR is not totally different at home. We don't know if everyone here is being 100% honest about thier life, perhaps even making a sort of fantasy life here one they wish they had. And I'm not saying that everyone is lieing either, what I am saying is that we just don't know. And all we can be sure about are the things that we personally go through.

I wish I could say that I was as sure of what comes after death as some of you. I've always felt that faith (if you had it) could provide a steadying hand in rough times or help a dying person to accept their fate with a little more dignity that those of us that have no beliefs.

If when you are born, its the beginning? and when you die, its the end?

or maybe its an instantaneous thing and the two are basically one in that the energy of said being on its way to the check out line of life is then "zapped" to said being that has sprung to life in the same instant.

so life is death - they are one in the same? there is no beginning and end, more of a cycle of said energy, moving through hosts such as us... humans, animals, little hoppities in the forest, etc.

so if its a cycle there really isnt a death per say but a shifting if energy, so if no death... then no life? we are just shells for the energy to reside in and "live a life".

so then the energy wants to "live and experience a life"

hmmmm - kinda goes with my thoughts:

I dont know or care where I came from, short of location since my cycle refreshed... which is in Texas. I dont know or care where Im going, other than work Monday thats for sure.

My energy is here for now and wants to live this life, so I have never care or wondered why I am here, where I came from or where I am going.

what I do know of the shell form of the energy known as birth... is that its pretty damn cool, especially of the human species.

what I do know of death, sucks on any level depending on how much you cared for the other energy.

So Ill just do my thing here and not worry about this or that.

but know this, somewhere... some badass energy just cycled, my dog was awesome! so it should be a really cool..

whatever its gonna be.

=)

I think there's some form of Afterlife. Whether it be Heaven, Hell, or perhaps a whole new mortal life.

death is likely not the end.. probably just a breach of dimentional barriers.. i don't want to get torn out of reality any time soon, but on the other hand, i'm hoping i get demolished and what remains of who i am is disintigrated.. i wonder if i can cause that by hoping it to be so? possibly not...

I used to believe that there was something after death, but when my grandma died my view changed. I believe when you're dead, that's it. She was so adament that there was something after death, she would of come back to tell us, some how. But yeah, I don't think there is anything after death.

Good question. I believe in recantation but only in certain circumstances. For instance, if you die before your time, I don’t think u just die and is reborn right away, it takes hundreds of year maybe longer, which is cool because it gives you time to see your current love ones again. I truly believe I had a past life, I’ve talked about it in other forums on death and such. Just like I believe the people you love are always going to be in your life in some way or another, your mom might just be your sister next life time lol.

I personally believe that even in death our souls never sleep, and that we have the choice to move on to the next life or stay behind. I have also thought that perhaps there are only certain souls that get to move on to the next life, and that others do have to stay and play here. I dont really know yet which I believe more though. lol. It may sound insane but thats just my opinion and beliefs. :)

... why would we imagine Life to be finite?

me personally, I think we keep on coming back until we get things right, maybe making up for things I did in a past life.A wise man once said to me, "no matter how many time you may wash your hands, you can never get all the blood off.It was the times we lived in there, it was survival, to match the brutality or be killed by it."
I believe our souls are immortal and one cannot live but one lifetime and accomplish all there is..or love enough.one lifetime is never enough to be with one's mate.

To be honest I didn't know before I started reading. Now I've read it all I really don't know

I'm not sure that I would want to know. If life starts to get hard, it would be really easy to quit if you knew you could 'start over'.

An interesting aspect of all of this is most people's extreme fear of death. It is a fear of the unknown, of the possibility that this could be it.

We know from science that energy cannot be destroyed, it only transfers or moves on. Our bodies are full of energy so where does it go when our organs no longer function? To say that when a heart stops beating it is the end is not possible...the energy has to go somewhere. Where that somewhere is remains a mystery and something humankind will ponder eternally.

These are questions of the ages and will remain questions that will be asked. Why am I here? What is my purpose in life? Is there life after death? We will not know the answers until we move on from this plane of exsistance. The most we can ask for is to lead a good life and have faith.

We obviously can't cease to exist. If that were so no one would ever know of anyone or thing that had Died.

Questions relating to death are those that sparked most beliefs so many eons ago. It gave people something to believe in and to comfort them. One popular belief is the soul.

According to most the soul is what will continue us on when we die. What if the soul does not exist and there is nothing to carry us on?

Popular belief also is that the soul is simply energy imprinted with our likeness or some sort of thing relating to ourselves.

Half of that MUST be true. Our bodies DO have energy in them, it's what keeps the heart beating and what fires between neurons. And as known, Energy is neither created nor destroyed, it simply moves from one object to the next.
With that said, What if we have been so abstract in our beliefs, as a species, to think that we are above that rule in some way? Saying that our energy is, in fact, a soul. What if it is not that special?

Our energy will simply move out of our body, leave us for dead to go find someother object to....dare I say it....energize.

Many people believe that death is it, nothing happens. Others say you go to a different place, realm, or are reborn as a new creature.

I believe that we do not die but rather are recollected into the energy that flows through this existence, only to be "reborn" at an undertimed time later when another life is needed.

Many speak of past lives and unexplainable memories or dreams. When we run into others who have shared our past we feel a certain connection with them, something unexplainable. I do not speak of just people, could be anything - animal, plant, even a place. That sense of deja vu you get when you see or visit somewhere you know you have never been.

No one can say for certain what happens until it actually does, but by that time.. its too late.

there are a million views of what happens after death and what our meaning is for now. they can be debated for centuries on end and still never come to a conclusion. i have many different thoughts on it 1 which i have posted above and the other which is, i heard somewhere that if you commit suicide that once you die you experience your death over and over again forever, so i take living as already being dead and that i have already comitted my suicide and im just experiencing it again. that can sound really confusing to someone else but seeing as i tend to be confusing it makes sense.

If I may be a little cliché here...

nothing lasts forever, but with every ending there is always a new beginning.

I've always thought that the power of the human mind is underestimated and that we are capable of creating our own reality to some extent, therefore I think what happens after death could very well be dictated by our own personal beliefs.

I believe that people go though different life lessons. Though each, life a lesson is learned. If u don't complete everything u need to learn, you come back and finish, then move on the next journey( what ever that may be). That's why I think some people know more then others without really trying. Just a theorynot a fact.

My logical mind says yes.

Given what I know about the human psyche...I know that since our arrival on this planet, we have been survivors, and have survivor mentalities. We have an overpowering need to feel that we, or some part of us ...is forever. It is basic human nature, not founded on facts, but on imagination and need.

in my opinion what one person believe happens when they die does....

when some one believe in heaven and hell and that if you are bad and desirve to go to one or the other you will..... so if you think you belong in hell that is where youll go if you think you belong in heaven that is where youll go...

if you think you turn into a ghost... you will

if you think youll turn in to an animal or plant... you will

if you think youll be reborn... you will

if you think youll rot in the ground... you will

if you think youll be nothing... you will be.
