all people have their own third eye.. some are closed and some are open. if a third eye is open, a person has the ability to see ghosts sense paranormal creatures.. and if it is closed, the person rarely or cannot see ghosts and the like

if you were to choose, would you like yours open and get the risk of being scared but able to help these ghosts, or closed and have a peaceful and normal vision?

Well, seeing as how mine is for the most part open, I can't imagin having it closed. I would keep it the way it is now.

I don't see creatures, and whatever visions I have are in my dreams...when I do dream....and they are usually about whatever is gonna happen in my life...like conversations and such....only creatures that I would see are vampires, and I am not scared of them

i strive to open mine ---but im afraid it has cataracts or astigma or something- how do you get contact lense for it? lol

My third eye has been open all my life. I couldn't imagine life any other way.

If I could choose I would want it to be open. I mean I see thigns all the time and hear weird things but im not sure. If there was a way to open it I would do it with passion.

The third eye you reference is the one that most people attribute with psychic vision, right? Although the "third eye" actually refers to a chakra, many people also see it as an actual "eye" that sees psychically.

Mine is open when I choose and closed when I choose. There are times when I want to see and many times where I have to focus on the tasks immediately at hand and don't wish to be distracted.

The third eye doesn't guarantee that one will see spirits. Some people see the future or hints of the future with their third eye. It depends upon the person.

Figuratively speaking, the third eye is the sight of the psychic mind which is the gateway between conscious mind and divine mind. Learning to use the third eye sight effectively takes training and meditation and practice.

How would I go about that though. If it means I can contact the ones I have lost in my life I would do it.

In response to the question about "how", there are many ways one can learn to cultivate their third eye's sight. Most of it begins in childhood when we actively use our imagination to "see" things that aren't really there (or were they?). meditation, guided meditation, visualization are all ways to train yourself to see without sight, as it were.

If you wish to contact loved ones, there are some rituals that allow for this. These types of rituals are best done on... you guessed it, Halloween. But they can also be performed at the upcoming solstice. By far the most interesting ritual to communicate with the dead is found in the book, "Nocturnal Witchcraft" by Konstantinos. Though many circles consider him to be an unreliable source, I have found his darker take on witchcraft to be easily palatable. Anyways, the ritual written in that book is called "The Anubis Rite" and is a ritual to summon the spirits of the dead.

I dont see spirts with mine athough if im in a presence of one i can sense it, and i can also see parts of the future, sometimes.

A word of caution about the Anubis Rite. As with any ritual magic, it is a good idea to familarize yourself with the BASICS before you endeavor to do something like communicate with the dead. If you are bent on doing it, then start studying witchcraft (incidentally, the rest of the book, Nocturnal Witchcraft also contains chapters about scrying and remote viewing, all aspects of using the third eye. It also has good information for beginners, cumlinating in the Anubis Rite at the end). Start studying now and plan the rite for no earlier than Halloween.

actually, we do have a real third eye - or at least a vestigial one. the pineal gland in the brain (which is much more developed in many animals - particularly reptiles) is sensitive to heat and light, and regulates the production of seratonin. basically, its there to tell you when its summer and when its winter - and to tell you when to hibernate.

i agree karnstein, we do really have third eye. it's located at the very center and topmost part of our mind...

and about our loved ones, we can always choose to communicate with them through seances adn prayers... although we can't see them, we know that they can hear us

I would have to say that my choice would be to keep the third eye open. Fear does not play a factor in this for me. People only fear what they are not familiar with. People should try to learn from what they do not understand.

Call it my third eye being open or whatever, I don't know! I've always seen & sensed things. It can be a little creepy I guess at times, but I've never known it any other way. So I guess mine has always been open!

yea its a syaing here in my country tht what you cant see with your both eyes you can through your third eye.it shows you the vision of future people say . i also sometimes feel that it is present in me as well like any other human being .

Hmm according to the answers here, no one will agree, but I say that the third eye has nothing to do with the things that you are connecting here with(and that is not only my personal opinion or twirk), Gawd I cant understand why ppl mix these things??All these things came from the mind(paranormal and whatever you are connecting here with), and the third eye is the beginning and the ending and the beginning of all the whole, separate things these two are, the mind and you.You dont see paranormal with your third eye, the third eye is something totaly else, it is here to see the truth, a higher part of your being, and not some mind twirk ghost seeing or such, a study will certanly reveal to you where you are mistaking, but that will proly wait for the next life.......

I truly belive in a third eye I have had my own encounters with spirts and phantoms not just on this site either :P but I have encounterd many strange things in this realm all things are possible

Open - I'd always rather know than be blinded.

I have my 3 eye partialy open.............every time I see something it sort of closes and it takes some time for me to see the things that I have seen again! I do not want to see ever again the red smoke that was chasing me,,,,,,,,,

I think I am as openminded as could be. I see things, hear things, feel things. lol. There are times when I wish I didn't, but all in all I am okay with the fact I am see what I see and know what I know. I'll keep mine open. :)

Ive had experiences with the supernatural realms before,so i guess i,d say mine is open,I,m not scared of it.although depending on what i was facing would depend on how i dealt with it and if it posed a threat.and having extra senses can be a blessing sometimes.

my third eye is open, but i can close it to...so i dont have to see if i dont want to.
If i did see all the time i think i would go crazy after some time, i mean i need to feel like i am alone sometime and i could not do that if i "saw" all the time.

I have yet to perform the self-trepanation nessesary to allow my vestigal third eye (penial gland) to see past my cranium.

Not sure about third eyes and what not....but I can state that I would rather NOT see ghosts and so forth if they appear as they died. I just do not like gore and so forth.

thanks alixaryon for the comment... i agree that third eye is used to see truths.. but doesn't ghosts offer truth to us, like life after death and the hereafter? we can even converse with them and offer help in exchange with knowledge that only the dead knew...

sometimes, third eye help people. it does on my aunt who has her third eye open. although she sees supernatural beings even though she doesn't like it, she can help them sometimes cross over and actually she can heal people. i guess she's some sort of a modern day shaman

the third eye isn't just for the seeing of spirits and such, although this may be a part of it. if given the choice however of course I would chose open. It does however depend on which religion and or belief you go by to determine the actual function of the third eye. i don't see why someone would chose closed other than if they truely wanted to see normally.

I would think once the third eye is open it would be hard for it to ever close again. It seem's to me that you would have to reach a certain level of enlightenment to reach the third eye therefore it would be more likely to move on forward so to speak and not backwards. I haven't researched it enough to know much about it at all. What I say is just what I think.

I would like mine to be open. Hey, can it rapidly open and close? Like, one minute, it is open, next it is closed, then it is open again? I think that is what mine does, or I am just crazy...I see ghosts for just a few seconds, but they seem to fade from my view...

i would like mine to be open...you can not learn if it is closed and if you live in fear of the unexpected...you will miss out on alot...

Ahhhh ive just read of the third eye & the power of Healing...
I have felt the need to heal many time's, even if i do not know the person i feel compelled to them.
I felt it once with my Husband, I asked him if i could help him and he let me, even without touching him i felt a power surge, The heat that was coming from my hand's was extremely warm. i also felt a gravity.but i felt a bit drained afterward's, but i dont feel it often it isnt something i can switch on & off it just happen's.

I would really have my third eye open. I have this thing about helping people,spirits, whatever. There may be some unpleasantness involved, but isn't this true of every day life?

Totally...I think that some ghost have something to tell or to relate to a loved one....it may even be us....they have more insight on what is going on in the living world than we do. So I would have mine WIDE open!

My third eye has been open since I was a child, at some point it has become shrouded leaving me limited in that area. I hate that I cannot see all that I used to be able to. I definitely prefer it open!

I think that I like my third eye being open. It is a bigger spook to be able to see these types of things, but regardless, I think that it feels even better to be able to talk to these ghosts and to help them, if they are unable to cross to the other side peacefully. An example, is when my father had died. Now, I often see him, hear his voice, and even feel his presence around me. I, as well as many of our family friends, believe that he has some unfinished business. I just hope that what ever it is, he is able to finish what it is that he needs to and cross over like he should.

My "third eye" has been open from birth. As it is some thing most of my family has. When I was younger I wished it would go away. But now that I am older I love it. I NEVER want to close!

Mine has been open all my life so like some others in here I can not imagine it being closed. I admit there are sometimes when I have been scared of some of the things I have seen but for the most part there have been to many amazing things happen for me to want to close it

Ghost and things that go bump in the night, have never scared me, only intrigued by them.i have seen ghosties since I was a child.And I View my abilities as a gift, not something to be frightened of.

I think, for my own sanity, that mine needs to remain closed.. Maybe in time that will change.. but for now.. deffinatly needs to be closed.

I want to have my third eye open. It rans in my family and mine is alrady open. It doesnt really scare me. I like to see things that most people cant.

Considering my "third eye" is already open, I would probably choose to keep it that way. I was raised to accept it and wasn't the first in my family to deal with it so it's helped form a lot of bonds in the family as well as the other things such as the knowledge that comes with being able to communicate with the dead.

When I was a child I wished that the things I saw would go away. But now that I am an adult I have learned to live with it. I'm glad I have the abillities I have now.

I've had my teacher want to teach me how to open it, but the fear over comes me. Although with that being said I do believe it's already partially open, hence why I'm scared. Don't know how to over come the fear.

Open, wanting it closed is just another way of neglecting your full potential.

Mine has been open all my life. I have learned to live with the advantages and disadvantages of this. But I must agree that I dont think I could imagine what it would feel like to have it closed after living with it open all these years.

Sure why not. It's there wether I see it or not; what's their to be afraid of.

I am an untrained Clairvoyant, thus i am quite familiar with my Third Eye. I have no instructors to help me further my ability, so it remains slightly dormant.

However, if i could, i would love to have it open forever.

I do not like being blind, in such a way. I do not like to see a body of water, and see just that: water.

When i was younger, i had incredible second sight, due to my mother's tutelage.. after she.. crossed, i lacked an instructor, so my abilities weakend.

But the things i saw in the water with her were beautiful.

I would love to be able to really see.

The unknown does not scare me. I would welcome a spiritual friend, as well as a coporeal one.

I would love to witness the marriage of a newborn soul to that of a newborn infant, and not just see someone give birth.

I have a theory.

Mine is that souls never truly die in the first place. That Heaven, or The Summerlands, or what have you may exist, and one might spend an eternity there, but in earth-years, it might just be a milisecond..

I think that when one dies, they are automatically reborn into the next newborn, to have a second chance at life, to see through the eyes of another, to live another life.

Then that brings to mind Aged Souls.. my soul is quite old, but i won't say anymore on that.. don't want SOMEONE to get 'RIP' happy.

Mine is open. Sometimes it is very freaky for me. But I am still learning to cope with it.

I would like for mine to be open so when you here a strange noise or feel something you can see the spirits and help them so they can leave peacefully.

My third eye is open, and I like it. I am never alone and allways feel the spirits all around me. It's not allways they want to show themselves to me. But it's really up to them.

if its a curse or a belssing htis something I never taugh of asking myself since its there then I use it, nothing to worry about.

I wouldn't be so arrogant to claim my third eye is open. Opening it either requires physical change or immense self exploration and control. I have never heard of the Third Eye being used to just see ghosts...

Mine is closed.. I don't want it open.. I believe it is better to leave it as it is. Maybe they have their 3rd eyes opened because our creator knows that when they see dead and ghosts, they can understand and help them.

i think at one point in my life it was open but for some reason over the years it got closed i would to have it opened again

i was in the desert in Utah for over a year and a half and i believe my third eye opened but once i intergraded back into society and technology i forgot how to see again

but now through meditation and focus i believe i have opened it once more
