I've been here for a little while now, and it seems that this site has collected a very diverse bunch of people who all share some sort of gift in one way or another. By gift, I'm talking about something that ordinary people don't have. Call it a power, if you will. So I'm curious to know if you feel you have this sort of gift, and if so, do you think that this has made your life more difficult?

Personally, I am empathic (receptive only), and a healer (think kind of like faith healing, only not). The two seem to work quite well together. However I try not to advertise the fact, I have gotten in trouble offering healings to people who were totally closed to the idea, and I have found myself sick on more than one occasion from picking up on other people's emotions.

I'm fairly intuitive, hasn't done anything but made life better for me.

well...I can see ghosts and crap the feeling of a place...for example a building :) i havent had problems cos i havent really told that to many people...only to my family members.

I myself am very understanding and caring. I guess helping people through things is my gift.

i don't let it get in the way i know i have certian abilities that i can do but i use them in a way not to draw all eyes on me and if people look at me funny or ask i just explain but in general i do not have any difficulties

I see things from the past or the future.I also see /feel ghosts.It has not made my life difficult,I don't sleep a lot because of it....

I have always foreseen events and have also had a deep spiritual awareness. The only trouble that I've had has come from other's misconceptions. As many here on VR, I only share with those who are like minded. My contact with non pagans is sincere but superficial.

I would say that I have experienced some weird things. Saw a LOT of crazy things that I don't speak of. But none have gotten in My way or hurt My life in any way.

And I have to disagree, I think all people have these gifts. Not all choose or want to use them.

There is nothing supernatural about them, they are part of how we evolved. You don't take an animal's instincts which work off emotions and phiscial signs (such as hormones they smell) and call it ESP. So why call our natural instincts something different to seem so "powerful". We are all the same in that we all have potential if we choose to use it. Granted they are different potentials depending person to person, but everyone has them.

My gifts: I can sense things such as* witches,empaths,weres and vampires*
can predict the weather *can sense atmospheric changes a couple weeks in advance*

I am empathic and also sometimes I can predict the future by piecing together random snipets of my dreams.

agrees with ladyshado, i can sense and feel out certain kindred..kinda weird in a way, and when that certain person is hurting or whatever i can feel that..not sure if that is a gift or not but anyways

Well, I'm very understanding and I can forgive anyone no matter what...
I can also sense things and I sometimes feel like my dreams mean something of some sort. I guess you can say, I'm more in tune with my 6th sense than "normal" people. But just a little.
And if I try and concentrate hard enough, I can also feel aura colors and I can tell what a person's zodiac. :)

sometimes i'm able to feel what others feel like when they're sad or got a headache or something... sometimes it's very nice cause you can understand people better with it but it can also be a curse suddently to be very very sad and not knowing why because you feel someone elses sadness...

I know exactly what you're saying, Whu! I get that feeling, too. All the time. That's why my mom thinks I'm such a good masseuse. I can't believe I left that out.

Some have gifts other burden for having them, to me its more a burden then a gift, I can see things that will happen, in a short or long term, max 5 years, but usually I see the things that will happen close to the time I see it, most of the time small event are ether happening in another part of town or another country to one of my friend of family member, usually I call or message and ask if this is going on or if they are having some pain, but the major event take longer, usually I say for all of my vision to the person just to be carefull, like for exemple: watch you step in the stairs, or becarefull in the garage when you go there...this kind.
To me it is more a burden then a gift, most of my gifts are for exemple, the contact of spirits, demons, magick balck and white, visions....those kind of burden

i am very empathic as well. sometimes i see it as a gift. sometimes i see it as a curse. bad energy tends to hurt me. not physically but emotionally. i get anxiety.

i also have a very open mind and i think this is why i see and feel spirits as well.

i have felt spirits and feel them around me. I have had dreams that have came true.

I think we all have one or more gifts.

Rather than make life harder mine seemed to develope from hardship.

i agree with carval..mine have developed over hardship..some call it intituion...but its something more...i cant exactly put my finger on it...im empath i know...i havent really explored how i do this and why...hardship tends to bring it out why i dont know..

I am very psychically active, especially when it comes to other entities. I guess you could call that a gift.

My gifts are, clarvoentcy, empathy, aura reader, and powerful witch. I think they work well with each other, the clarvoentcy and the empathy work together because the spirits sometimes don't talk as much as they feel so I feel what they feel and help them that way. Aura reader and empathy work together great too. I can see the colors and then by the way the persons emotions are I can give an accurate reading. ect. ect.

I am pretty good at healing but emotional and physical.

If I feel strong enough about something I'm thinking about it will usually happen within a day.. haven't totally figured out how to hone it.. so it doesn't always work out the way I wanted it to.

I am also of the mind that these things aren't really gifts, just parts of your natural humanity that you've tapped into.

I have dreams that turn into reality. Sometimes it takes days for a dream to manifest itself into reality, sometimes months. I personally hate it...but I can't get rid of it....so I'm learning to live with it and try to use it.

my girfts are a blessing to me and sometimes a curse do to the non bealievers and norm society looking down on them i have healing hands and the power is used but never taken for granted or misused.

One of my gifts is being able to sense when sumthin bad is about to happen...

I am empathic and I am a psy vamp, which means that I "feed" or get energy off of others through touching. I am just beginning to understand all of this and needing help with controlling it. I just started a thread to get some advice.

I am a sensitive witch as most my family (women) we can sense many things and even forsee things it is a blessing and I also feel we all have some gift we only have to open up to it.

Enrgy has different effects on people. It manifests in people differently. Anything is possible.

I feel that I can tap into my psychic abilities well.....

I pick up vibes every now and then if something is wrong with my friends even if theyre not near by.

Ill also see a random event from my future in my dreams.

I'm an empath too and sometimes this is giving me a hard time. Usually when I'm around junkies or evil persons. I can sense things they've done (murder etc.) and can ''understand'' what they are thinking or how... Not pleasant...

I'm a healer and a natural source of energy. By that I mean I tend to offer people positive energy when they need it . I used that intentionally twice and a clairvoyant friend of mine saw the future and my boyfriend his alter ego...

The ones I love and my friends draw energy for me and sometimes I get headaches cause the whole thing is getting out of my control... But I don't mind, I'm happy if I can make them feel better...

I'm also a clairvoyant... I can read the cards and sometimes have dreams that are somewhat prophetic... This never bothered me maybe because it happens every once in a while and not all the time

I can see auras and that never bothered me either... Actually it fited very well along with the others...

although i am greatful for my gifts, they have brought me trouble.... in elemenary school i had a particular problem with a couple teachers and a certain counciler...(it was a catholic school, but i'm agnostic now for reasons of my own)

My gift I guess would be that I’m telepathic. I feel things happening to other people, even if their 2500 miles away. (at least that as far as I’ve reached so far)
I have had many experiences when my third eye has revealed things to me from the time I was a child.

Mine well.

I can blend in to a crowed if I wanted to. It helps that I dress normal. But that might not be as much a gift as something I have learned (plus looking like I am harmless tends to help, though sometimes even my friends pick up on it to much).

But some times I can feel if something that will effect my life will happen. Lately I have also had this feeling that peaces of a puzzle are being put together. Like some chain of events is happening that has been ment to happen for a long time.

I have a few other things that come and go are just miner.

i feel everyone has the power of some kind.. but some are just more then others and that can sence more strongly

I only sense things when things go wrong or some is in danger

We all have gifts, it just takes us awhile to realize that they are there, I for one have a higher level of awareness, but there is nothing supernatural about it.

u are right xtreme... sometimes we only have to develop them... be conscious that we have them... I can heal people with my hands... I started with Reiki and now, people come to me when they have any pain...

Perhaps I should redefine myself. I never said that they were supernatural. Just something above and beyond the norm. Like the ability to draw well, or persuade people well, or lead, or walk on your hands. That's all a "power" of sorts.

Gift or curse.. chuckles depends on thet ime or day you ask me.

But I can see spirits and or ghost. Place memories as well. And sence them even if I can not see them.

Doe this make my life worse.. well not sure of worse.. makes it.. intresting. Oh say I am haveing a short talk with someone my friends can not see when the spirit appears as normal as a lieing person. Or the times I have stoped dead and refused to enter a room cause of the feelings I have recieved at the door.

I think every person has or can have their own gifts, some people are just more aware or focus more on the gifts.

no raly I have a knack of getting into peoples heads and giveing them the tattoo they want

I feel that I have a gift...or maybe just a big heart....I think of others befor i think of myself ...I would give the last peice of bread to someone before i would see them go hungry...

I have to agree with Liebe & xtreme. I think we all have these gifts, some of course have more natural ability to tap into them than others. I think that ability all depends on how much you choose to develop these traits.

I do have my gifts, but i tend not to use them very much as they can be both helpful and destructive. The one gift i do treasure and use, however, it the gift of healing.

I have had gifts bestowed upon me since I was 8 and learning to control them is the most difficult part.

Does it affect me much.....not really. I am happy to share my gift of healing with others (as in perform healing for them) whenever I can, and have even mastered the art of healing over vast distances (a friend here on VR lives in the USA and i live in the UK and i have helped her a few times).

My other gifts (if used) would indeed cause a major problem to my life. The only thing that does not bode well for me is the fact that I am a warlock and do get attacked by other witches, entities and spirits frequently.

My mom told me i had a gift when i told her i had a dream of planes crashing into buildings a month before 9/11

I tend to think I have a blessing and a curse or my side. I am an emerging empath though I have been this way a LONG time I never knew what it was. I think I am receptive only as well though I cannot be sure as no one has spoken to me about receiving off of me. It can be a GREAT gift when it comes to trying to understand others...the "walking in their shoes" scenario BUT it can also be a curse because the weight of someone's emotions can wash over you like a wave and nearly knock you down...try attending a funeral being a receptive empath....its TORTURE....this happened recently and I felt like I swallowed a ball of lead....I couldnt breathe all that well and all I could do was cry even though I didnt know this person all that well.

My sister is an empath. I don't share her gift but I do have one of my own. Her gift has sometimes made her hard to deal with but if I ever have any doubts about someone, I introduce them to her.

i've never really said anything, cause i didn't really think baout it until now, but i feel things, sense things, that i can't see or hear, but i know it's there. I know where things are, and i can't explain how i do this.

Everyone has gifts I feel it is just up to the individual as to if they open up themselves to be aware of them, and to learn how to percieve them, Being Open Mined is the keep and in-tune with oneself...

I agree with what most have said. Everyone has gifts, it is just up to that individual wether or not to use that gift.. As far as myself I can sense things and I do not think that it has been a problem in my life.

I have a gift of persusion and hiding, I'm very good at it

I have a gift to see ghost and sence stuff before it happends also, scary too some degree cause most is bad lol.

I know that if someone I haven't seen or heard from in a while sometimes a long time... will pop into my head out of the blue and within two days I will hear from them.

i no if there is somthign wrong with one of my friends even if were no where near each other
and im not sure if this is a gift but im a very fast healer i broke my neck and got up walked around for a bit a when i got to hospiatal my neck was broken and it wasnt spose to heal for threee months there was a chance it wouldnt heal at all but in a month it was better and the doctors couldnt explain it
i think about it now and it is still makes me wonder why

I have not just one but many gifts and somtimes to me they are a blessing but most of the time I see them as a curse.

I am empathic to a degree with my family that i can sense when they need me from 100's of miles away

I have always been able to see the goodness in people.Even when others see pure evil i can see past it all.I have always been able to pretty much know before hand if something will go good or bad.I have these gut feelings that i live by.Not sure if it is a gift or not..but it has made my life alot better having it.

I think everyone has gifts, it's just that not everyone knows how to use them

i have the same gifts as you do, and when i try to heal someone, i take energy from the earth and place it on the wound or where it is hurting.....and as for empath, my talent is very strong just like yours

as for everyone else, we all have some sort of gift one way or another, its just that some people hide theirs very well or havent noticed what kind of potential they have

Personally, I do not agree with your definition of a gift being "what ordinary people don't have."

I think that being able to sense and absorb feelings is something that everyone can do, if they chose to- I think the gift is being able to realise that we can all have a higher perspective of wat we can do.

So far, at least. Served me pretty well.

We have this gift that runs in the family... we all can 'Prophocies'. I, myself, only inherited a small bit... I can dream a small bit of my future and within a 4 to 8 month period I'll remember the dream the day of the event takes place... I thinks its weird...

I have the ability to dream things that come true. And i'm very sensivtive around people. And know that something bad is going to happen. thats all I can think of now that i notice about myself, oh i have seen spirits.

there are some individuals who possess gifts of a darker nature and i think people tend to get scared of such individuals

if i have a gift then its communication with the dead. seems like everywhere i go i get more and more ghost attracted to me.

i see that everyone has gifts but i am curious as to how everyone uses such gifts and what kind of experiences they have had

I sometimes have Premonitions though i only get them now and then. Useually in dreams I found out my did used to have similar things when he was younger kinda a family thing i guess though I've never looked into working on them.

Everybody has some kind of gift that they my or may not know of. my gift is Intuition knowing, and this is on a very low scale nohing major...

Ah, see now here is were I will say, its what natural abilities you have to assist you on your path.

For me, I can sense when other power is around, what type it is, what entity it is, what elemental break down it is, what plane it originated from, and usually how to get rid of it.

Seeing events with subtle details im good at, just dont ask me how the events will come to play, because there are several times when ive ended up somewhere i new i was going to end up, but the trip there was a lesson in and of itself.

I have the ability to manipulate energy currents, to draw energy from one thing, and project it with surgical accuracy into something else, as well as the ability to "see" with my minds eye, what others do with energy be it spell work, wards, or entities.....

Being able to astral project while the body is still functioning to split off my consiousness into multiple parts is a fun one.

As well as being able to channel or converse with anything on any plane that I have a need to speak with, or desire to converse with....which has cause some problems...

Being receptive to the energys and their nature would be a form of empathy, but I ground out other peoples emotons as best I can because its a pain, when I become but a simple mirror to show them what they are doing, and anytime I dont have to deal with people, I get pissed off because im alone.....yay for a blessing and a curse, they get more along on their social path, and I have no personality.....everyone around me stagnates, and im all alone.....oh well...

There are also energy transfers of large sums of energy from one place to another, being able to open gates so that spirits can pass through, being able to see on both sides of the veil at the same time, as well as being aware of the use of any spiritual art in a radius dependant on my will and want to see it. Yay for a funny form of remote viewing......

and no i dont use intermediaries such as runes, tarot cards, oracle cards unless it just playing around with friends.

Im a medium and I a seer. I love my gift, I cant even got a day without using it. Alot of times its a burden, but its a burden I bare with pride and honor.

i don't know if it is a gift or a curse. But when people are close to death i know when they do die. I have like an really really bad feeling that i need to go and see them. you can gurantee the next day they will pass away.

i have many gifts, i can leave my body and go to different place. i can tell how people are feeling with out looking at them. i know what a person going to says before they say it.

I myself am an entertainer by nature. It can be a gift and a curse. On one hand people generally like music, the arts, magic etc.... On the other hand are people who almost expect you to perform at the drop of a hat..... for free nonetheless.... "Dance for me monkey." It can feel a little degrading. Respect peoples talents when they offer them and don't push if they aren't up for it.

I am blessed with being empthic ,being a trauma nurse this helps me alot in my job. I can hear or sense the worse injured person a scene.Sometimes before I even get there.Triage is a whole lot better, since i seem to know who is gonna crash and burn first.
I also pratice energy healing and have helped several with pain control and nausea from chemothearapy.

i only have premonitions that effect me

I think far too many people are searching for something that makes themselves stand out and be 'different'... a power beyond what others have that puts them in a different category. I have found that all of these so-called gifts are merely initial issue of the human world. Some use them, some do not.

I believe we all have a "gift" it is just discovering it and putting it to good use.

I have kept my gift "nightmare" pretty much to myself. It causes some sleepless night for me sometimes. I am able to see past events from "spirts" that have died tragicly. I always know when a negative energy is around. So as you can see i don't talk to much about it.

my gifts have done nothing but help me. :) i love them.

i see thing in my dreams and when something happens bad a to a family memeber i seem 2 get cramps and a bad feeling most the time but i have had alot of dreams come true every since i was like 4..not sure if they help me at all but they do scare me

I guess that you could say my main gift is the ability to comunicate with the spirits that are around me. most of my family members are the same way. My sisters children are all indigo's
