ok i have been wondering,, what we claim we are , do you actually belive you are truly that? i have seen many people here post they are a vampire or a werewolf,, but when a forume is posted they can come up with 20 reasons why it cant possible excist. now do you belive what you claim you are? or are you just role playing?

and i hope i posted this in right area,, since it dose have to do with the supernaturla, and what you are.

I think I am what I claim I am..Just because of how I feel inside, I mean I am a Satanist sure and I know I am that..But I claim Vampire also..Just because You claim You are something doesnt mean You have the ability to turn someone, or You will live forever..There are many different ways..This is my belief anyways

This might sound boring because I do not claim to be a vampire or werewolf. I can tell you that I do firmly believe what I say I believe. I do not role play and I don’t have an alter ego that comes out online. I am a spiritual person with deep seated traditional pagan beliefs. That is who I am in life and that is who I am online.

Well said Gaius. I believe that when you pretend to be someone you are not, especially here, that you cheapen yourself and cheat us all of a true and honest debate.

i think it's fairly easy to pick out those who are truthful about themselves, and there are a lot of people on here that are truthful... more than other sites at any rate

i am who i am. The society as a whole has see vampires on TV and get a preconcieved notion of what a vampire really is. I believe in many things and yes i have fed and been fed on. There is a spiritual connection.

i am glad people are being so honest on here. i am or have been told i am a psy vamp. i know i am a natural born witch, i have been following the wiccan path, but i have been having doubts in my mind as to if that is right for me anymore.

i have to be honest in this one... i really don't care what people claim to be, but what i care is that almost everyone here (if not all) claims to be a vampire or werewolf and that's a lie... they are confusing things, just because they heard or learn from others what is or what is not a vampire, that does not mean that the things you have heard are right... between a belief and an absolut truth is a big difference... whatever anyone believes or claims to be, does not change a fact... and the fact is, supernatural vampires and werewolf's exist. (period)
it doesn't matter if you think that being a vampire is what you have learn about it, if you do not have supernatural powers (above the normal) you are not a vampire, no matter what you think or believe in... real vamps do not come from hollywood movies or bestsellers... they came from many cultures, many beliefs, different eras and from relates of those who saw them...
the biggest problem with us is that, what we haven't seen with our own eyes, or it is false or we tend to corrupt with our own beliefs... many in the bible claim that they've seen angels and Jesus after He was killed... listen, many have claimed that they've seen real, supernatural vampires and werewolf's, and i know some of them... and i say more, i have seen demons, satan servants... i don't care if you believe or not... just don't delude yourself with fantasies... vampires do exist, REAL ONES...

I regularly "suspend my disbelief" in life and on this site. Makes it more fun than being a grouchy cynic. The rp is okay, altho I find it hard to keep up a conversation if I suspect the other person is only interested in me for my blud.

Witches have always been in my life, as well as dark religion (Spanish Catholicism). I make stuff up all the time, try to keep it confined to my journal.

Something people should remember when posting here... is there are probably more members on VR who don't claim to be or believe they are vampires than those that do. So the 'we' stuff doesn't always go over so well.

I have tasted blood and my eyes are sensitive to light but this doesnt make me a vampire, cause IMO real vampires dont stick out in the crowds they keep to themselves not going around bragging to ppl on a website saying and claiming they are real ! lol real vamps are quiet and non sociel when it comes down to the real point.

Do I believe in vampires yes am I 1 not really its more of a fanisty then realaty 4 me I just love them and the secret life styles they portrey .

My dear cryingmoon, if I may, we only are what we are alotted in this life. I myself did literally die in a cold November in a motorcycle accident in 1989 on the outskirts of Chicago. Albeit not permanent it was all the same life changing. Do I believe my supernatural, I would say "no" just damned happy with modern medicine cerca 1989. But then they did not expect me to walk yet I do, nor did they think I would endure this long. Mind you it is not without a great deal of pain, but still a defiance of the inevidible or perhaps a triumph of human spirit. But off subject all the same. Sufficive to say I have seen the fence from both sides.

i think that everybody has their different belifs, but only some people are open to the truth. the truth of the matter is that vampires do exist. and werewolves do exist. all of the supernatural creatures that you hear of, are indeed very much alive and prospering in the modern day. but are you willing to accept that? that is the big question you have to ask yourself. and if you do accept what is, then you are a believer, if you do not accept what is, then you are not a believer. it is that simple.

I don't believe in "vampires" in the sense of the stories. If vampires do exist, I don't think they're immortal and I don't think that they need blood in order to live. That's just my opinion, and others opinions are different, I assume.

Life is more fun when everyone thinks differently.

I suppose that the old "I think therefore I am" does not really apply in the material world, so that leaves roleplaying IMO. I claim neither vamp nor were, I do claim warrior poet and live that day in and out. It is but two facets of what make me who I am though, even as others here are multifacetted.

why do so many claim they are something,, but then they try to disprove the theroy of them,, or other things,, do they actualy belive what they are?

I think lots of people try to claim they're something that they may not necessarily be, whether it's vampires or blondes.

I think it's due to people wanting to be more than what they currently are... wanting to be better. People wishing that their life was different and then claiming that they are so that other people think they are.

I am a vampire, that means I live the sang lifestyle I do drink blood from a donor but I do not NEED it to live I eat just like everyone else so call it what you will I am vampire

This subject could be looked on as the old "belief begets existence" debate; that those thoughts which we strongly harbor, our beliefs and convictions, can take on physical reality in our lives. So in a way you could attribute it to the aforementioned "I think therefore I am" argument. If one truly believes they are a vampire, werewolf, psyvamp etc.. then they in turn take on these attributes and adopt those characteristics, not in an attempt to casually act out the part, but instead as a very real part of their lives.
However when a thought process or belief is used intentionally to decieve, like a roleplayer claiming to be a vampire on a serious discussion of the subject, then the facts can become misconstrued and biased.
I have nothing against roleplayers and actually very much enjoy the environment of roleplay, but I also believe there is a time and a place for everything...

I do believe that I am a dark being.

I have always preferred dark over light (damn light blue eyes make me light sensitive...). I like to stay up late and sleep into the day when I can. I prefer cold over warmth. I am most entertained by watching others get hurt or engage in strife and arguing. I even love to instigate fights between people.

I don't think this makes me evil, just dark, because I never want anyone purposly injured for hurt.

Not as exciting as a blood-drinking, shape changing being, but it is what I am.

most of the responceshere are right on the lines ofwhat i would say i never claim tobe vamp or warewolf, but i have insight intothis. most people here claim one of the before mentioned because they feel they eminate the essence of it and feel more comfortable living that life style

I am a Hereditary Witch on Mum & Dad's side...also half Romanian. I have always been attracted to things of a different nature... do believe that all is not what it appears to be. Hollywood portrays Vampires, Werewolves, Witches, & the like negatively & unfortunately because of this most do not believe in what they call the unbelievable.

In addendum of my previous; I would just like to add that I meant no offense to anyone over their personal beliefs.

Further, I believe that we all view ourselves not wanting to follow the main stream of society, and after all why should we; we are all individuals as unique as our own DNA.

Most here, myself included, prefer things a trifile darker than the norm; be it humor, appearance, or any number of things that is our right. Whereas we might be considered freaks or nutcases by the mainstream of society; I am of the opinion that such trivialities should not carry over into here, a sanctuary. Electronic or not.

A simple theory for an answer to you mystic, many many either on the Rave or IRL get lost in a fantasy based world which works for them, be it role play or other form of entertainment to condone their mentallity or the feeling of being special or above all others.

This simple fact begets the vampire lifestyle, as well as being a metal head, a gang banger, or any other sub culture out there...The feeling of fitting it as well seems to be very apparent in modern society from the stereotypes used these days.

All in all, claiming to be are simple words, being who you are is a lifes lesson learned for the self. Admiration comes with diplomacy, humility follows the outspoken. Why dispprove when society does not listen or just plain out ignores.

I havenever drank blood so I am not a blood drinking vampire. I do like to stay up late,and the nite excites me. I need the energy of others who have positive energy to be around so I can function. Negative poeple drain me. I am caught up in this cycle of getting charged up, comming down, and needing to get charged again or stay in bed with the covers over my head. I get a charge from positive spiritual poeple.

In my own opinion, cause I don't want to offend anyone...I think the reason that the ones that you are speaking of, claiming to be something they are not is because, I've noticed allot of the ppl that do that are trying to fit in...I've more than noticed that many of the ppl here were were picked on, abused at any rate outcasts by family or friends or what not in a time throughout their lives or to this day...
I don't agree at any rate with this and I think it's sad...I can't say that I haven't got many laughs out of it...
When it comes down to it, after all the laughs I feel bad...these ppl in my opinion need help they don't really know who they are or what they want...all they know is that they want to fit in, they want to belong...
I personally don't claim to be anything other than myself, a human with feelings and when it comes down to it that is what we all are...

I think that the people who do "claim" to be some form of otherkin and then turn around and dismiss the existance of that creature...well, maybe they are confuse, maybe they are roleplaying, maybe they just want to be accepted as being different and don't know how else to act. I believe that these people are more of roleplaying than anything. If there were so many then wouldnt you see the affects of them in day to day life? I think that perhaps some are rolepaying while perhaps others seriously believe its true, but just because you believe in something doesnt make it a reality.

i think that there are vampire out there and people are afaird of what they dont understand so i will take people as they are.

I once dated a self-proclaimed werewolf, who (not surprisingly) was always ready with an excuse as to why he never changed form, or displayed any traits at all.
