...or destroyed, then where did we come from?
I have always said this as well, because I have to explain it to people that mock my ghost hunting, and belief in the paranormal.
But I was reading my other thread I started about the afterlife and someone mentioned that same line. I got to thinking...
I agree, but if energy (us) cannot be created or destroyed, where did we originate? To originate, we would have to be created. It has to start somewhere.
Where do you believe we came from?
There is no easy to arrive at answer...however, I don't think that spirits or paranormal events have to be manifested as energy from nothing. I do believe that energy is neither created or destroyed but it can certainly be changed from one kind to another so that we don't recognize it's origins.
I agree, felixfelix. Energy is just transferred from one form to another, and the exchange is continuous.
I like that. I believe that as well. I had forgotten about that aspect. ;) But the big questions are what did we start as and where did we arrive from?
Very good question! I have no idea where the energy all came from in the first place. It can't be from the Big Bang, because energy had to already exist by that point...
I don't think anybody can give a short answer to such a complicated question. It all depends on whose lenses you are looking through; faith and science both of have their own explanations to that.
I think I am repeating myself...But here goes.
All energy is constant, not created, nor dissapated/destroyed. We as souls living within our bodies, are the infinite of the universe, of which was given to us by the universe. We are ever present, just because our bodies die, does not mean we die.
After our bodies pass, we in turn travel through the rays of the universal super structure called time and space...Otherwise known as the ethereal plane.
It is always constant, always flowing. This should explain it simply.
The only thing I can add to what Felix and Soulshroud have written, is that there a couple of good member articles on the subject of energy.
ps...newbies can find these on the left of the screen under main menu.
Who mades us so infinite and how, only the Creator all mighty knows.
energy is in continuous transformation, the matter interacts and releases energy that is absorbed later in other process...
in one of those process, a cell was formed...
I always thought that nature's "laws" only apply to that which thinks they must be obeyed. If a leader of a group makes a law, the leader must follow that rule. But first the leader has to make the group, get it organized, sit down and think about the rules. At the beginning. Why should nature be different? Why couldn't nature make...energy first and then think about the rules? Those laws of conservation of energy and matter. Why did they have to be in place before we got here? That of course does NOT imply a creator, or a god, merely a design that developed patterns AFTER it was made. Or you can go more scientific and say it was the creation of two forces, most likely molecules left from the previous universe that collided and created the big bang. Or maybe it was the aliens. Dont know, probably will never know. And I accept that.
There are somet things that cannot be completely comprehended. For example, the universe is never ending and constantly expanding. Everyone thinks in terms of something ending somewhere, wether it's death, simply throwing something away (out of sight, out of mind), etc. Energy is a constant, like the universe.
the universe is either expanding or never ending which means it is infinite... and in the end you say that energy is a constant like the universe... *wink*
so...I agree that the energy is in a continuous transformation... But I don't want to give an oppinion about it's begining... for the simple fact that there is no answer for this question...only some ideas that are not explaining the whole situation....
I love this topic ... there is no way to really say where the energy first originated. Like so many have said, energy cannot be created nor destroyed, but it can be transferred ... it is a constant.
I'm not going to give an answer. I just believe the big bang theory. Though, before that, it makes me start questioning everything, and that is not good to do. I've only barely escaped being put in an insane asylum, do to those thoughts.
Actually energy can be created, but mass is destroyed in the process... the combination of energy and mass must be conserved.
A photon is energy and they appear from know where and disappear again… they float between dimensions I believe. so as they move over some on our side move into there’s
This can go on a step to spirits ect
I'd probably say that energy was created from the big bang, possibly the wrong word to use. Basically the theory suggests that before the big bang there was a point usually termed singularity, this point is not subject to natural laws as the framework of time and space do not exist in it. Therefore energy can be created in the transitional stage where it goes from being no law to natural law.
if we take e=mc^2 to be true, then it proves that energy and mass are interchangeable so matter can be changed into energy, (this doesnt constitute 'creating energy') which would show that as soon as there was mass there was energy (albeit in potentia) and vice versa.
although this doesnt explain where it came from, i doubt anything can, it does show that if there is mass there is potentially energy
While matter and energy cannot, themselves, be created, the form they take and what they are made into most certainly can be. Perhaps so also with that which makes us "us." In other words, we lived before we came here... but in a different form and on a lesser plane of either creation or progression or both.
It is so obvious to anyone who takes the time to consider such things that we are here to learn, to grow, and to create. Laws of "evolution" (survival of the fittest, which equates to "might makes right") do not work in Human society as they might in the animal "kingdoms" around us; for us there is a key moral component to us and to our societies that cause those of us who prey upon weaker members of society, as would be expected to work well in "evolutionary" paradigms, to in fact be highly destructive to society. Thus, we are not here to become as are the animals... but to aspire to higher planes of progression. And all of this presumes a purpose to it all that transcends mortality.
Were this not so... of what possible value would it be not to simply prey on others, to do as we please as do all other animals? And yet, were we to all act in so selfish a fashion, civilization itself would be destroyed and us as an entire species with it!
Thus... we are here to achieve potentials and purposes that transcend our mortality here, because as already proved by physics alone... we do live hereafter, just as both matter and energy likewise are eternal, and we shall ... move on ... to different forms, higher forms of existence depending on what we have achieved in this one.
Energy cannot be created or destroyed, merely altered from one thing to another. There are questions about our universe that are unanswered, but many scientists believe in the big bang theory. The energy produced in the bang was always there, just not as explosive. There are all types of matter beyond the proton, neutron, and electron that we learned in grade school science. Axions, additional neutrinos, supersymmetric particles, and a host of others could have interacted in an explosive catalyst that is now our galaxy and responsible for our own livelihood.
Everything has a beginning. Even if we follow the path to the big bang. Was all of the energy in the universe stored in one giant ball? Unlikely. The mass alone would have created the single largest black hole ever to exists and considering that black holes do not explode...see where I am going with this?
Who is to say though that an implosion and not an explosion could not have created the universe?
If the cosmic downward spiral spins one way...the galexy...acending spiral...spins the other?
then what becomes of the wmatter in between?
If it is absorbable then it will absorb into assension
or into a downward spiral to be reintroduced to the ingredient rack.or become imiddiate stock for the soup if it goes neither way.any of the three cases keep you in the kitchen.
Rictus - the universe at the singularity known as the Big Bang was said to be about the size of a subatomic particle - not a big ball. And yes, the forces that were contained within it would have been the cause for the largest black hole ever to exist.
The idea that the universe is ever expanding as has been said further up is somewhat near sighted. The rate of the Universe's expansion is increasing at an exponential rate, leading many theorists to believe that we are heading to the next singularity known as the Big Rip.
Both events would suggest that the Universe has a set parameter and/or set density and therefore a predetermined amount of energy. My personal belief on the matter is something called a Perpetual Motion Universe, which suggests that this set amount of energy recycles itself through these two singularities (the Big Rip, and the Big Bang) with the help of a third singularity known as the Big Crunch. In this theory, the amount of energy and the forces which initiated the Big Bang reconcile and recreate the Big Bang. The laws of nature and physics would indeed be observed in these events. The key to it is in the name. It is not a Cyclical Universe because all three singularities exist at one time, lending support to the word Perpetual - constantly moving. It is derived from Einstein's statement that the notion of past, present and future is an illusion. In other words they all exist as one, and all exist now.
The existential question then becomes "What set this Perpetual Universe into motion? God?" But if it is in constant motion, running through past present and future, and back again - the answer is that it just IS. It exists because it exists.
what about an alternative view...
humans are not energy, merely vessels or carries of energy with the ability to transform it!
Fascinating answers! I had not heard of a rip potential but rather a freezing due to space and everything in it expanded further from each other. One can only speculate about the outcome or the beginning of this marvelous concepts of the universe.
Meeper:
You question regarding an implosion vs. and explosion is quite apropos.
One theory being put forth is that the existance of "The Universe" is cyclical in nature, albiet over a massive time scale. The theory is that the matter in the univers expands to a certain point and then reverses into contraction. The contraction then proceeds until all the matter attempts to meet in one location, resulting in a "Big Bang" which sets the expansion part of the cycle back in motion.
So in essences the universe is created and destroyed over and over again? If it expands so far though, how does it collapse upon itself if matter is so spread out?
NocnaMora, thats it...an implosion or a sort of pure fission - nuclear.
Giving the black hole effect.
Meeper - the implosion also known as the Big Crunch would fall back in on itself as the result of the four fundamental forces reconciling; that is, coming back together.
This is possible through a wormhole, of which there is experimental evidence. A wormhole basically connects two points the space-time continuum, but requires an "exotic" material to create the walls. The only two points in time where this could potentially occur in a natural fashion is at the Big Bang and the Big Rip. These two points being connected allows both to exist at the same time.
As I said before, the universe is expanding ever faster. We've dubbed this force that is causing it to expand "Dark Force" simply because we don't know what it is. If the four fundamental forces recombine at the Big Rip, it may stand to reason that the Universe is not being pushed into expansion but rather pulled into the future by this wormhole.
BloodLife, energy can indeed exist in a vacuum, at least a vacuum such as the one described above. Energy is initiated by the four forces. If they were to recombine as they were at the moment before the Big Bang, there would be no choice but to have energy - all consuming, unstopable, instantaneous energy. Though there would be no light.
It is not energy that can not be created or destroyed its matter that can not be created or destroyed. Energy is the product of elements reacting. Energy is another word for wavelengths or types or photons emitted from elements or even certain chemicals reacting to each other in our world in general. Energy is also our chemicals in our body, our cells, a reaction. Matter cannot be created or destroyed. Energy transfers from a relaxed state to an excited state.
pandorasbx65~
I have to disagree. If you view 'matter' as 'the object' and energy as the property of that object ... like the verb of the object.
Energy can only be converted from one object to another.
You cant create or destroy it.
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Energy
wow complicated, lets start with a religous answer, say you are a beilever in god, and say he gave you life, or created your spirit, you ask out of what and how did he create it, read the scriptures very closely you will find an answer, for we always existed.......but not in the form we are in now, but the matter that makes us up was always and will always exist in one form or another. Now on a science based ideal, every element has always exsisted, you can alter it much like water is made up of hydrogen and oxygen combined by electrodes, a form of energy, break them apart and it goes from liquid to two gases, but the energy and molecues ares till the same as they were before just in a differant form, I mean look what happens if you destroy an atom....boooom, but the energy and matter stil remains in a more distorted vs.....and eventionally that energy is absobed again by other elements. Its a constant swap and recycle using the same energy over and over again, much like the sun does.
Easy...It took useless matter (energy) and formed it into something that well, considered usefull or something like that...Look at the Platapuss (however you spell it) its a slam of random parts.
I agree with you all, and Soulshroude, I believe the same thing. That is my belief system as well and has been for years. But where it started....if energy cannot be created, then how did it come to be?
It would seem this is where science and religion both fall on their butts.
Where did it all start or begin......
There is no concrete proof only theories. There is nothing to substantiate how it began.
But we're working on it :-p
I assume that in order to answer this question, and understand the answer, one needs to open one self toward the understanding of the whole Universe, and understand it's heart, how the things really are, and all that has to do with inner work to wich one should open, technicly opening the third eye, realising the totality, gainig the whole vision, having everything in sight.
it is true that Energy can not be created or destroyed,,but it can change form...to ask where it comes from is the same as asking how was the universe created..and I can only tell you this "I just don't know"
I have to watch the spellchecker more closely. :)
OK, let's clarify one thing. Energy and matter are interconvertible as they are two forms of the same thing. This is why Einstein's formula E = mc2 has meaning as it shows the conversion relationship between the two forms. This is application of the Law of Conservation of Matter and Energy.
Ok, since energy can not be created nor destroyed and we obviously were created, it's very simple. The martians did it.
But no seriously, that question really doesn't have an answer since it can not be proved by science. I personally don't believe that a rock can turn into a monkey.
since energy cannot be created or destroyed the how did the rock turn into a monkey, and a monkey to a human....
And further on then how do you take a non living organism and turn it into a living organis???? the rock did not even have the beginning to a complex nerve system or capabilities to think.... this at least shows the bbt didnt happen...
You are looking at too narrow a "small case" universe and not including the Sun as the source of energy to drive evolutionary processes uphill by input of energy. Energy is constant in a closed system, but the Earth is not a closed system. The "large case" Universe is considered a closed system and energy cannot be lost or gained from it but both matter and energy are considered as forms of energy.
Everything had to have been created in one way or another at one point in time
I didn't know the universe was a closed system. I thought it went on and on. So if it's a closed system, then all our energy has been bouncing around each other for-ever. And the question is, where did forever start? Ha.....vicious cycle.
Somehow the energy is expressing an idea. Since this idea is eternal in nature, or awarness, it might be logical to assume that this energy is constantly revolving from an idea in to the solid form or the material world, since the idea is contantly being generated, and it is made out of the energy only.
I guess that the correct answer to he question lies in discovering what is generating the idea(we are an idea as well), and where it is comming from, or how is the idea being able to persist with out any known means, since that idea, or awareness of the idea, was first to be recognised than any form of energy, and later expressed in it.
This question is impossible to answer because noone knows. I have had a theory about the earth itself created the life with chainreactions of alot of natural causes.
this is a very loaded question. Philosopher have been trying to figure this out for centuries, religion has tried to give answers to this question, sciene has tried to develop proof of our origin and how everything was formed. There are Thousandupon thousands of explainations and they all have one thing in common: they are all just theories.
Why is it that the human race has know and explain everything why can we not just accept that there are things out there that will never get explained. The answers wwe all seek are within each of us.
I believe the answer is actually quite obvious, but we cannot grasp it beacuse we are under constant influence of our perception, wich goes from mouth to ears, and it sees nothing else but that, otherwse it would be possible to understand that exactly that aware energie is manifesting everything, the aware energie, wich somehow in some manner is possesing awareness, and is somehow not able to understand its core, or even to notice it, beacuse it is under heavy influence of perceptions, wich actually act like a veil to its own recognition.
I think this is what philosophers are trying to understand and rationalise, but they made a mistake, beacuse they were just spending time in a idea, talking around the core, instead of somehow becoming the core in totality. Thats the hardest trick to acomplish I believe.
Matter and energy - we'd be getting off into quantum physics and then the huge ongoing discussion of the big bang theory or creation or ? Energy is all around us, easy to step outside and soak some of it in.
Trust me, there would be no huge quantum mechanics discussion on VR, but if you were to offer some ideas it would be interesting to hear them, Stormwind, on that same note, I'm interested to hear what you have to say about that "energy can be created".
there's a set ammount of energy in the universe; thats way to hard to calculate right now, but its ther because mass = energy remember that whole e=mc2 stuff...lol
energy simply changes form...flows from one source to another...leaves one person for another etc...
energy is part of everything you, me, even the grass so it should be easy to pull energy from anything
a pea of compressed energy that suddenly exploded and is ever expanding
but of course where did the pea come from?
Im not saying a word on this one, there are alot of great posts..but I will say this. When we find the answer as to where we came from and how..I guess that will be the day we become as Gods themselves.
Just because space is infinite does not mean the Universe is. The universe that we live in is fairly new and on the end of a super universe which comprise of many such universes. There are five super universes that encircle a center one. the oldest. In total they are part of the omni universe. All energy is compose of the "All that is." Call Him what you will. Energy is made of two kinds. One is manifest and the other is unmanifest. Manifest, such as us, will keep its nature. While unmanifest is the substance that is, and can be, shaped into any form. When that form is no longer needed, it goes back to its unmanifest nature to be shaped again when needed. Very simple actually. ;)
I think itty bitty humans should stop trying to measure things like the universe.
We still understand so little, even about our own bodies and minds.
I've often thought of where my energies originate. Are we really part of one existence? Honestly, the thought of that bothers me. The thought of returning to one whole being doesn't appeal to me. I want to stay the individual.
Although, if that's what happens after you die, I don't think it will really matter that much to me ;)
um, okay, i totally don't understand you. energy CAN be created. what does the sun do? give off energy we came from an atom. if you remember being tought in earth science class, there was a little thing called the "big boom" theory. in which a single atom exploded, and is still expanding to this day. it is now known to us as the universe ;-P
I'm certainly not going to attempt a scientific response, but agree with what alixaryon and Billy have written.
Though energy cannot be created, it can of course be generated.
Have you ever 'felt' someones rage ?
that's why i think that the disbelief of science is stupid! science is the only thing that is able to give proof, is it not?? there's no proof of god. there's no proof of reincarnation. and there is no proof of magic. (not saying that i don't believe in magic, because many spells have worked for me, but then again, most have not)
The Sun does not create a damn thing. It merely follows its nature of chemical reactions by design. No more than the Earth creates the weather. Perhaps the wording and meaning is lost but remember that no-one knows how or what electricty is. We can reproduce it and use it but its nature if unknown. We don't create it either. Same for our nature. We have a divine "spark" in us, not an atom, and the rest of our body is nothing but unmanifest energy manifested. Once it's use is over, the "spark" returns to its nature. And the body "dies." Maybe people should learn who and what they are first before learning what doesn't really matter.
XTCraver > As I said...the difference is between creation and generation, and that is as scientific as I get. lol
the sun is not creating energy it is expelling the energy that it has
Ok, well I believe every thing has its own energy even down to a rock. I believe that energy can be manipulated and it certainly had to be created.
As for where we came from - do you mean humans or the Universe?
My feelings on creation must follow the big bang theory (although The Simpsons showed a good version of it)
Perhaps we are an alien experiment - nothing more than an ant farm if you will. Damn, wonder what kind of grade that kid got?
What I have read is that the multiverse is so close together that on occasion they touch and when they do it causes and big bang and voila a new universe as for man...that will be the big enigma that I think will never be answered. Now in some cases we would be considered the aliens would we not? Perhaps we are some entities dream...who knows.
energy just is ..i believe we are of the planet and were giving a certain amount of energy ..and when it is all gone we die and the energy within out bodies at the time goes back to tthe planet
Billy makes some good points and gives me an excellent opportunity to pimp my journal. In the "too much" section I include a short video on dark matter. Yes, it can be photographed now, and yes, although invisible and without form, it occupies mass. It holds planets in orbit, among other things. Surprise, surprise.
There is one small question I have on the "creation" of energy if anyone would care to discuss Heisenburg's uncertainty principle. I think the potential of a secondary occupied space is about the only time I might consider this to be happening. Any opinions on that? It could also, be the potential of dark matter not yet manifesting, I suppose. I'm curious about it.
That is a very interesting question that you've laid out on the table. The way I see it, it's hard to determine where we've all originated from.
From reading through different posts here, it seems that many of us believe in reincarnation and we just carry difficult phsyical forms in each life. We may start off as a speck of dust and evolve until we reach enlightenment. Either way, we were something else before the dust and we will be something else after enlightenment - that something else is energy. No matter how you look at it, no matter what form we take, even if we just exist, we are energy.
Energy cannot be created, but it always surrounds us. I personally believe that every soul on Earth, whether vampire, human, or other wise, has been taken from a higher energy source. We were created from one, and when we die, the "energy" we release from death goes back to being one with the greater source.
I have been interested in this probe for awhile now and thought it was interesting what they found in fact it seemed like they didn't really say much about this. I know there were articles and such but it wasn't really talked about that much. (Wilkinson Microwave Anisotropy Probe) They say the Universe breaks down like this (from NASA):
The WMAP team found that the Big Bang and Inflation theories continue to ring true. The contents of the Universe include 4% atoms (ordinary matter), 23% of an unknown type of dark matter, and 73% of a mysterious dark energy. The new measurements even shed light on the nature of the dark energy, which acts as a sort of an anti-gravity.
That means the Universe is made up of 96% dark substances...I think that is truly interesting and they don't quite understand this all.
I haven't really kept up on further research on all of this perhaps Sevenn has?
I know from reading various articles to even consider viable travel we need to be able to make wormholes and that deals with making anti-matter which we can do and have done but we cannot make it in large enough quantities at this time. I would assume that would be in a sense creating some sort of energy field. So I think we can but we just haven't advanced that much as of yet to be able to perfect the means. I only know what I have read.
So to answer the question. I don't know because from what it looks like unless it was someone from a planet within our solar system or knew how to make the wormholes it sort of makes one look back at some being depending on how one would view that. I just have a hard time believing we spontaneously appeared out of some sludge or evolved from something else.
Perhaps we were created by some that were here but moved on to elsewhere? Who knows. Its one of the big questions no one has been able to answer beyond theories.
Hey I have a vid in my journal about the probe. That thing is kool.
How about from God (of the Bible)? Does anyone still believe that at all?
I think its easy to answer that, but I thought we werent supposed to talk comparative theory here. This is standin on that precipice if you ask me.
well im learning all my stuff from my mom and so far i havent asked her this one but yes we did have to come from some were
someone asked if energy can exist in a vaccum. In a sense all of this exists in the vaccum of space.
Quick note on energy. A blackhole sucks up light and energy. The back side is known as a white hole, which is where it gets spit out.
One of the theories is that the big bang was created from the out pouring form a white hole. I am not sure it that helped or not.
i think energy can be created because look at people are makeing energy such as power and solar and water are all forms of so called energy.
Energy can be created. If everyone agrees that at least all live things are energy - then by making a baby you are, in sense making energy.
Making a baby does not create energy it is a transfer of energy. Electrical generators transform one kind of energy to another they do not create energy. For example a hydroelectric plant takes the kinetic energy from the movement of water and converts it in to mechanical energy causing turbines to turn. Those turbines use magnets(magnetic energy) and copper coils combined with the mechanical motion to convert that energy in to electrical energy.
and what do you use to qualify that "we" are "energy" and that's "it"?
Everything in the entire universe is made up of different kinds of energy and yes even our souls are a type of energy. If you remove all of the energy from something it will cease to exist as there will be nothing to hold it's molecules together. At conception energy from both parents combines and then is fed from energy from the mother's blood.
The calculations and estimates of the mass of the universe lead scientist to believe the expansion should be slowing, eventually leading to a collapse and another big bang. But current measurements show that the expansion of the universe is accelerating. One theory scientists are exploring to explain this is dark energy. An energy in the universe, pushing it apart at ever increasing rates, but upto know unknown and un-measured.
Something you have to wonder about is: is the universe really expanding or is it's contents moving away from each other. Are the limits of the universe getting bigger. What is at the edge? If the whole thing is expanding in multiple dimensions, are atoms themselves expanding. Are we getting bigger and just not noticing because everything else is getting bigger. If the universe is expanding at the sub-atomic level, does it expand to a point where atomic properties as we know them change.
i will agree with jdenoyon (thanks) i beleive the energy must have began somewhere.
but where?
I always thought energy had to come from somewhere just never knew where from
I still believe energy had to come from somewhere, everything comes from something in a way
Light is electromagnetic energy at a frequency that we can detect with our eyes. Electromagnetic energy occurs in a wide spectrum such as infrared and ultra violet. If you wonder about the spectrum of light: dark room, turn your camcorder at your tv remote and record as you click on buttons. Your remote uses infrared, which the CCD in your camcorder can pickup. This takes care of some energy.
Perhaps in studying more about the human reproductive process we can learn more about the birth of energy.
I believe we came from a deity. After the first humans were created, the deaths of one manifested into a child. The death os person becomes another live, which is why people can have deja vu or intense information from other eras of their past lifes.
Ive said it alot,as everyone most likely knows, but Im gonna say it again.Sound / vibration ..please look into it...if anything, out of curiosity.
Vibration is the basis of life. Every sound you ever made echoes still. Sound waves never entirely disappear. Every part of our body has its own frequency. Resonance occurs when frequencies come into synchronization. Different frequencies influence genes and cells. Form is created by underlying vibration. A solid is actually a wave, created and organized by pulse.
Sound energy can be used to heal when entities vibrating at different frequencies come into resonance with one another. Sound can trigger memories, release past memories, stimulate joy. Sympathetic resonance is a healing technique in which the practitioner applies positive intention, focus and attention to the sound healing instrument being used. The harmonics create the shift.
http://www.crossingworlds.com/articles/soundhealing.html
Facinating view Oceane. For anyone that has seen the Tacoma Narrows bridge video from the 1930, where the the periodic winds matched the resonant frequecy of the bridge itself, the vibrations building upon themselves till the bridge, literally swinging in the wind fell apart. The concept of resonance is serious issue..
Ah Galloping girdy...what a mess that was but,a very important lesson. You bet sound/res is a serious issure..it kills ,it generates life..and everything inbetween.
