That vampires have no souls ...
My question is -- What do you think happens to a persons soul , when they were changed --- Is it destoyed ,, or does it carry on to what ever lays ahead ?

Well you are talking about the "hollywood" vampires.

Now to be accurate they supposibly don't have souls because when you look in the mirror it is believed you are seeing your soul as your reflection. So that is why they say that vampires don't see their reflection because in most eyes only humans have reflections, vampires can't for the fact they are the spawn of the devil. They are evil as is witchcraft, lycans, etc.

Now to answer the question the soul may go to another life or to another time or something of that sort "if you believe that vampires don't have a soul".

Well, assuming there is really, really, really Vampires, I would be inclined to say that the soul of one is nasty and dark!! heh

Hollywood gives us conflicting reports. There are some that have a soul and that choose to be good.

at the time of death it is presumed the soul does take flight from the host(body ) and travels to heaven or what you may believ happens, such a vampire is not living so it is said to be soul less.

then how can some vampires be good or bad then if they have no soul?

If you consider yourself a vampire, you have a soul... according to fiction, it is as the author wishes them to have or not have.

I think that some vampires have souls and some dont. Because to me when you see your reflection you are seeing that your not seeing your soul. But thats just me.

But it is believed that you are seeing your soul when you look in the mirror.

Well first of all we would have to believe in vampyres. Since I do not I believe that the soul does not get changed at all because the person can never be changed into an immortal being/vampyre.

It depends on the script. The film will reflect the director's vision. Some flicks are just about the blood and violence and never consider such a question to even be relevant.

I remember other discussions somewhat similar to this, asking if vampires could go to heaven if they have no souls...

As Joli said, it depends on the script I suppose. If they have no souls, then what is driving them besides the need to feed? How would they have any human/emotional traits?

I think most people tend to think of souls as being part and parcel of our consciousness (if one believes in souls at all). It would be hard to think of the parity involved in someone acting of free will on this world as a vampire and their soul being tormented as a separate being in hell or destroyed in another world.

well when a person dies then the soul is said to leave the host so I do not feel that vampires have a soul unless they are Angel on Buffy who was a Soulful Vampire LOl

Since vampires are(where) humans then I would say they have a soul... If they are part of the living dead then I guess their soul would pass to wherever souls may go when we die.

A true Vampire has no sole! It leaves the body upon death before the Vampire takes over the flesh.

Perhaps a vampires soul is consumed by their conciousness and the reaction preserves the flesh somehow.

In the hollywood sense, I think they all have souls. Some may be good, some may be bad ... but they all have souls.

Since I have never met a hollywood type vampire - the relevance of this point evades me.

However, the soul does not make your choices for you! It is, rather a reflection of the choices you make . So, perhaps when they say you can't see your reflection it doesn't actually mean you cannot see it but rather that you don't like what you see.

Were there true hollywood type vampires I would say their souls stays with them until there flesh is no longer here.

Some Hollywood/novel vampires do have souls, some don't - like as was stated, depends on the script.

Not all fictional vampires have the problem of NOT seeing themselves in a mirror - many newer fictional ones do.

The issue is, there is no one set of 'vampire rules' - the writer makes their own up each time.

I have my own ideal fictional vampire - taking from here and there to flesh out my perfect one.

In order to answer the question that was posed, you would first have to prove that "souls" actually exist. It's possible that no one has one... what has your soul done for you lately? :P

If you are going by fictional vampires then they are living dead and their souls move on when they are changed because the soul needs a living body. I think real vampires have souls just like any other creature out there

I think this very much depends on your religious point of view. As many in this world are atheist, therefore do not believe in the soul.

If the vampire were atheist, would they really wonder about the establishment of the soul? I think this perspective is in the eye of the beholder and their belief system.

Even if one thinks the soul is real regardless the belief.

Well being that Vampires are previous humans and are the undead in fiction, facts remain they still died in the process so I think they do go to the appropriate places.

i think the virus of the vampire bite they got slowly eats the soul away... depending on how fast it goes away depends on how much will power to be good and the will to fight it off...

Wow there is alot of different opinions but I see no one is paying to another's opinion maybe to learn or take something into accountability.

With that being said if no one agrees to anothers opinion then we can't get anywhere because nobody is sacrificing ones diginity and pride to see if another has a better solution.

So futhermore this is a meaningless post I am not bashing but is it not the truth because we have no idea if a real live human has a soul all we have for that is another book written by humans(the bible).

It could be mistaken because it does validate that all humans where created with sin so therefore that could be a lie because we are not perfect.

as for opinions on the soul ..... as long as we don't know and maybe hope it is real you will get many ideas all right till we have proof. so no need to compromise why should you if you feel strong it is then your faith... no need to convert.

I don't think the soul can actually be destoyed no matter what, I think it can change though...over time.

I dont believe that they dont have a soul. My belief is the soul is turned evil as such it is a dark soul thus being dead or evil as we put it.

Once you become a vampire I think there is no room for your soul anymore but you still hold on to the ethics and things you learned in your human life. I dont theink that the soul just lingers around but it is taken to the appropriate place...i.e heaven or hell.

Hmmm good question. In holywood they make it seem as if your Soul departs and leaves your body and that is all that remains...but seriously Vampires i do believe have souls. They don't go away in my opinion.

Personally I think this is all Hollywood fiction. If a person dies their soul moves on or stays to haunt the living... simple.

Fiction or fact, if a being is capable of free will and choice, then the being still posesses a soul, be it a clean soul or a soiled soul.

I'd say that the experience of becoming and being a vamp will definitely change the soul, not vanquish it.

One with out a soul would be an empty, mindless creature that is not capable of choice.

I disagree that Vampires dont have a soul. Everything living has a soul even the flowers that are on your dinning room table that you brought home yesterday to bring spring indoors have a soul.

If you are looking a Vampires as humans who were turned then yes they have a soul it may leave the body when they die and either circle the earth waiting for the body do join it or it may continue to the after life depends on what you believe.

If a vampire is a dead being, it is said that when a person dies it's soul leaves the body. So I would say that a vampire has no soul since it is dead.

If you are talking about fictional vampires, they are dead, and the soul leaves the body upon death. The body is animated and continues, but the soul is gone. It looks like other people have stated the same.

Mythologically, your soul is believed to go where ever it was destined to go like to heaven or hell.

I think vampires retain their souls, however it is their body that changes .

F**k Hollywood. With my view of a vampire, here's what I think. A vampire doesn't have a soul, perhaps they are possessed by some sort of demon, which makes them so evil. Maybe they're just like zombies, soulless and driven by the need to prolong their existence.

since I believe that the soul is the very essence of a person and that if it were to be destroyed, the person would surely either die or become just a body with no creative thought, then I believe a person with a broken, damaged, or depleted soul would be either in a coma or dead. Therefore, I believe a vampire would probably still have a soul. They still have a personality, and they still have creative thought. And more than anything they still have the ability to interact with others. I believe the soul remains intact.

I would assume that it would move on... since a person dies in their old life and is reborn a vamp...

It looks like we've narrowed the field down to just a few possible answers on why a vampire would or wouldn't have a soul. So all that's left is to vote.

so if something has a reflection it has a soul? ah that solves the question of a couple of other threads then. obviously, animals, plants, and even wardrobes and dressing tables have souls, because you can see their reflection in the mirror. mirrors must have an infinite number of souls, because if you hold a mirror upto a mirror, you see an infinite number of reflections.

well what i think is if there are truely vampires and when changed there soul is still there i dont know if it would change i think the person would have to change and adapt to its new life styl........

No... not destroyed... in Hollywood maybe. A vampire can choose right or wrong. Anything with out a soul does not contain the ability to do so.

To believe that something or someone that can move around and breathe has no soul is hard to believe. I feel that vampires have souls but that those souls could be blackened.

if your contemplating vampires being dead its just dumb. Nothing dead can be up and moving. Even the Hollywood style vamps are not really dead more enchanted.

one does not needto have a soul to be able to breath and walk around. politicians can breath and walk around, so too can estate agents. i rest my case.

I believe that if vampires were real... The soul wants to leave the body after it has died. But it cannot - It is trapped inside the now vampire. This is how some vampires have a sense of good - The soul is there.

If a vampire were evil, I would say they supress their soul deep inside them, darkening any trace of the human they once were.

Hence the blessing and curse of immortality - The internal struggle of the soul, mixed with the vampires need to "feed"... the instinct to survive.

i dont think you can lose your soul for it is hard thing to difine in the first place but they have said in many book that some vampire have losed it when there body dies.

The no soul thing is used all the time in hollywood. I would guess though that superstitious people are probably the ones who actually created this. Since different vampire theories have been floating around for centuries. People fear what they do not understand. If something people fear is said to have no soul than it gives them reason to justify that fear, or so they think. Hollywood has taken this belief and run with it. The problem is even hollywood is inconsistent in this theory. Some do, some don't...they can't seem to make up their mind on this. I would tend to believe that vampires do have souls. Anything that can tell the difference between right and wrong has a soul. You can chose to ignore whether something is right or wrong but that does not change that deep down you know the truth.

So, what I am saying is, yes I believe vampires have souls.

We all end up as dust in the wind an d return to oblivion forever. Only one shot at this life.

I don't believe they lose there soul but there soul does become more wiser and harsher... Vampires are no longer the human they used to be.. They must kill to survive either a human or animal.

I think that whatever draws a breath has some sort of soul or energy. I believe our souls are immortal and we are reincarnated over and over.
