I was 6 years old . My mother found me talking one morning to what she thought was an "imaginary friend", while we were staying at a bed & breakfast in northern CA. She asked me later who my friend was, and I told her It was the " old lady louisa " that used to live there. She later found out from the hosts that indeed an eldery lady by the name of Louisa chalmers had died in the late 1800s in that same room. I had many similar experiences in my pre adolescence ,but none after. I guess it had to do with being a child(Innocent and all that).that all being said I've been aching for that kind of connection to the dead ever since, but to know avail. Now am I sensitive to spiritual energy? yes. but, never again, since I was 12 years of age , have I been able to commune like I did. Has that happened to any of you ? Have you once had a gift as a child that was all of a sudden just taken away? I am also curious to hear from any of you who still possess such a rare gift. or even any of you who have known someone.....I'm rambling. Your turn.
Well, when I was really young, probably 4 or 5, I used to feel this odd energy in different places. Maybe I was paranoid or something, but the air would be thinner and have more pressure. My skin would feel like it had been microwaved: Warm on the outside, freezing on the inside; and occasionally, I could feel something touch me, even when no one was around.
I still get that paranoid feeling, but as I get older; it gets a little harder to feel. Which is good. I hated feeling sick all the time like that.
I've only seen things called , or what i defined them as....the shadow people. i remember having one sit on top of my stomach and i peeked open my eyes and could see it's black legs but it wasnt very big. child-sized i guess and i panicked and prayed and thought about jerking my body so that it might scare it away and i did that, and it flew through the wall. my mom and grandmother were with me and my grandmother said, as a child...i told her that i saw black things on the wall. I knew after that confirmation....that i wasnt just dreaming it or seeing things...i was seeing things that i have seen my whole life and learned that other people have and can see these things too and describe them the very same way i have. So other than waking up to those sort of entities every now and then, I have come to learn a lot about myself spiritually speaking and being able to heal and do whatever i put my heart and mind into behind my will. :)
I honestly don't know if I could ever do that, because of what I was told growing up, and things not being real, and so on. But then my one ex opened my arms and some abilities have come...though not always controlled, lol...that I think have just been dormant, and it took just the right person to bring them out again.
Rogue I would agree with the fact that yes some peoples gifts lay dormant for a long time until they are fully capable to truely understand their gift. When my 11 year old was 5 he used to ask us when he was going to see his other family again. This really freaked out his father, So I had him draw a picture of this family.
But childrren of course are much more "open" then adults are. But if we contunue to harness our abilities and use them they will not become lost to us.
well I think alot of us have grown up and with all the new technology and us becoming lazier in life we tend to lose alot, like being intune with our surroundings as much as we used to be, and any gifts we had are still there just need to stop and focus or even believe again that is is a gift, and not just a child with memories of a gift. hope that makes sense...
When I was younger I used to have very vivid dreams. And within a day or 2 the exact thing that happened in my dream would actually happen in real life. I told my friends about this & they didn't believe me. So, I started writing my dreams down & then showing them to my friends. They couldn't believe it & were always asking me to dream about them so they could know what was going to happen. I explained that it didn't work that way. That I had no control over my dreams. Well, I am much older now & every now & then that will still happen to me. But, not like when I was a kid.
As one grows up, the innocence and sensitivity of childhood is often suppressed by society and the desire to be "normal". There is always a way to get back what you used to have, but it takes practice. I can't say I ever had childhood gifts that many of you had, but my latent abilities emerged in college when I began studying magick with some friends. We became known as the resident metaphysical vampires. lol.
Oddly enough it happened the other way round for me.
I used to think my Mother was nuts ( she would keep seeing dead people ) lol.....frightened me silly as a child.
Nothing happened for years...then I got to exploring major religions and ended up a Spiritualist.....now I talk to dead people
( and am often nuts ).
Most children can see spirits and end up losing the ability when they get older
From my mothers side up to my grandma, we've all experienced things. When I was 5 or so, my mom threw a party for me and I went to my bedroom to get something. My aunt was in there sitting on the bed so we talked for a little while. She told me that my mom was looking for me and I should go and when I left she was gone. My mom asked where I was and I told her I was in the room talking to my aunt. She got kind of freaked because she passed a few months prior.
I feel we all have certain "sensitivities" that we either harness or lose. Unfourtunately I lost it but time to time I still see things in dreams or feel things.
yes, i coud see auras as a child and it faded at around age 18. i have been told that you can train yourself to see auras so i will probably go thru the efforts again to recapture this gift. i believe that the ability still rests inside me.
I study the craft of the mesmerizer.
Diabolic .. what do you offer as proof of your claims.
I used to be much better with animals...
Wild animals, I mean. Walking up to wild rabbits and picking them up... butterflies landing on your finger because you want them to... that sort of thing. Only my pets really do that now. I haven't been able to get within 20 feet of a crow in years, and the rabbits run like hell.
Oh well.
What "proof" is it you are seeking. I no longer have that gift , just vague recolections and the stories about me that my family would tell me when I was young. Since then I've been " chasing the white Rabbit " if you will. I've studied some Greek& roman necromancy, Studied(but just couldn't buy into) the necronomicon ,I've tried many different avenues and just had to accept that the Universe had just pulled the curtain back down. I believe the whole purpose for the temporary gift, and the still present sensetivity were meant for me to learn to believe & remain vigilant. If it is what path I am on that you wish to know, It is that of the mystic. I have learned that I cannot control the universe but CAN commune with it and be sensetive to it's design. Am I another Crowley? no. Merlin?no. Just a spiritual individual trying to understand his place in the Universe.
Thanks for asking though, this is the most interest any body's ever had in anything I write. I'll keep coming up with more topics to discuss if I continue to get the responses generated by the last two. I appreciate & value all of them!
Once the gratuitious expectations are set aside, I do share the belief that a still presence can be noticed. yet to allow that "sixth sense" to become callused.. from pushing the envelope, one is likely to become jaded. As children we have simple faith. we are lead by subtle things we have yet to understand.. when i learned to spook others, or even bring them sentimental guidance for grief management, I feel I am doing what any person would with a craft for collective observation, that gift you will never lose, the chance to use it, depends upon your training.
We do likely lose that sensitivity as we grow. We do like to feel connected to other distant realms, some claim to have a peek at the here after, if I had such a gift, I would be unlikely to use it. Once one claims talents or gifts, people do exactly what I gave an example of above.. they want proof, then once they have a demonstration.. they want you to jump through another hope.. a good thing to be curious.. yet if you are the person making the claim you better be ready to burn the candle at both ends.
I was once able to commune with the deceased...it was only during my adolescent years as well. It actually stayed until I was 16. I was able to stay in contact only with family after the age of 14 though. I spoke with my grandfather for 6 years after he died. There are many days that I wish I could speak with him again.
I expanded my imagination when my youthful ability to accept fantasy as real.. some would have people believe far out things. I learn that a core belief is more assuring then fabulous displays of things claimed to be mystic or super natural.
I believe that children are high susceptible to special gifts because of their faith, like dabbler said, also their innocence and that they still have ties to that realm.
As time goes by, and you don't continue to use the ability, it disappears. it can be regained... through practice.
Yet to be astonished by it.. is thankfully lost as well, or we as adults would be like deer in headlights if we where still so easily held fascinated.
The abilities sort of o from highly sensitive to a twinge. When one imagines one is able to capture some of that fading gift, when one believes, it is invested in that belief. Such invested imagination.. I will keep my imagination from containment.
i have not lost a gift but when my friend was younger he could tell you what was on your mind most of the time but now he can not
not all people lose their gifts at adulthood. i can still do some things and i know a few people with different gifts that have no issues when they choose to use them. ^^
I was able to see spirits as a child...now, i can sense them with my 3rd eye.....i have beenm diligently reading up on how i might re-develop the "sight" again.
when i was younger like around 4 or so i used to talk to someone my parents said they couldnt see . and when i got into school kids made fun of me and the teachers told me that although it was cute imagenary friends were not welcome in the classroom...so i quit talking to what i saw and eventually quit seeing them. if i was left alone as a kid i might of still been able to talk to those i saw.
One thing I do remember was that I was highly discouraged by my parents who were devout Baptists. Any time I wanted to talk about it I was told that those things weren't of "God"and therefore must be of "Satan". I think that association made me more fearfull of these visitation and therefore less receptive. What I do know, is that if my daughter showed any sign of this gift, I would listen to what she had to say and let her come to her own conclusions , rather that tell her what to think.
When a child makes believe to cover something they did that is one thing.. when a child makes believe to cover for something tramatic or invasive to them, those things need to be handled, with theraphy even sometimes.
I am almost 16 years of age and still possess this gift....I admit it does not happen as often as it used to..living on an Indian Reservation as a child I experienced it more...I regret to say that if i do in lose the ability to communicate with the deceased I willI will be extremly disapointed......
How do avoid being overwhelmed by the presence of so many dead.. how do you focus on one voice?
i still have the gift of seeing and hearing things,it don't come to be as much as it use to when i was younger, but my 9 yr old hears, feels and sees things and she has had all of that since she was 3 yrs old.
Difficult vewry difficult if you are in a place of more than one.. thats a rare occasion for me to be approached by more than one dead at a time in fact I has been two years since that has happened to me...I was overwhelmed and scared to say the least......It took alot of concentratin but eventually was able to sort out which voice was from whihc person....
does it happen that they have ties to others around you?
upon occasion yes that does happen, but sometimes thye are already there
What significance has your gift made in the lives of those around you?
big word, okay, besides the fact that they all think im insane you mean? none of them believe me or notice a difference in the life as they no it! they are way to close minded people
That is okay you can dismiss the question. I hope you can develop your gift to benefit those around you, people need guidance through grief, I hope you can develope your gift to help those that need such settling of grief.
me too and I plan to use it in this way if people will ever believe me when I tell them that what I speak is indeed truth and not fiction....
I have tried to help out in time of grief through my gift and I got called the spawn of Satan by the grieving persons
Some would settle for the title Grief/Mourning Coach. Helping others touch with things their loved ones left behind, those transient memories.. they need to be told they can find them. some of the outstanding questions can be found in journals and the collective mementos.
I believe that if you had the gift as a child,,it can always be developed again..keep working at it..and relax..maybe your trying too hard.. I believe we are all born with gifts its up to you to further develop those gifts.
Some gifts become something more managable in the adult world, this could be the bodies way of keeping over load from happening, some would be weigh layed by abilities they know not how to "control".
In my room after my grandmother passed away .
I seen behind the closet door faces from Disney .
Pluto Donald Duck & Mickey..
But since then nothing ...
dabbler.....Healing, meet or speak with spirits in dreams, have spotted entities around me that would wake me from deep sleep at times. Have focused on causing pain onto someone that hurt me and it worked when i put my fullest attention/emotion/and will apon them. Accidentally made a church bus break down when i gigged it (or it was one hell of a coincidence). That's all I am aware of at this point.
DiabolicMessiah, my mom had gifts similar to yours as a child, and it more or less went away as she reached adulthood. She still gets dreams of fish to let her know that someone is pregnant...she'd been on the mark everytime too!
I had a smiliar expirences with what my parents called imaginary friends except that the people I would commune with were family who had died beofre me. It used to scare the hell out of me. I lost the gift only days before I would really need it, right beofre my grandfather died.
I dont know what it is but I am still able to feel all the pain of my parents and brothers when they are in pain I grow up with them and my two 1/2 sister nothing and I have lots of dreams that come back years on to be the true like de ve jue and when I dream of spiders hundreds of them some one dies
I think that many gifts we have as children get suppressed rather than they just go away. They get suppressed because the adults around us at the time tell us we are being childish or ridiculous.
Children see the world around us both physical and spiritual as it really is, uncomplicated by negativity, stress and societies values and beliefs. As we grow our abilities get suppressed and we lose that innocent out look.
As children we yearn to be grown up and to be accepted by the adults around us. So we listen to what we are told and believe it. So in time our natural abilities are pushed down deep inside us and become suppressed.
Some of us as we grow older have awakenings and realise we have abilities so they slowly resurface until we trust and believe in them and find them stronger and more powerful than when we were children.
i used to be able to talk to spirits. and my mother welcomed the gift and tried to help me imbrace it. but i remember i had an experiance where i was physicaly injured by a spirit. its a long story but after that i pushed the gift away and denied it out of fear. i have been trying to get it back but the most i have at the moment is i can sence thier pressence and there emotoins but i cant actualy see or hear them anymore.
if you want to hear the story the message me. but im not gonna take up your time unless you want it.
You know I still have the skill of "invisibility", it is blind spot manipulation, with a portion of misdirection.
I still listen between the lines.. learning by what people are not telling me.
My ability to tell people exactly what they want to hear is more honed then when I was young..
Having worked with a Private Investigator I have used these skills to case stalkers.
If what we know as gifts when we are children have no practical purpose (aside from novelty) or we never know what to apply them to, perhaps we "lose" the chance to develop those gifts into skills.
To many people I know that claim to be gifted with some super natural ability know nothing of it's use.. which leaves me to believe they only seek to have others believe they are gifted.
I see shadow people all the time. There is one inparticular who stands near the kitchen usually in the same place give or take a few feet to either side every day .... sometimes it moves further into the kitchen when I am watching.
Having gifts is the ability to be able to view them when you were growing up and be able to view them more as an adult in a special meaningful way
When I was a child I had a great amount of gifts but as I grew older I have lost almost all of them. Back then I would give anything to get rid of my gift. To stop seeing and feeling the things I did. Bot now, I would give anything to have them back. So for those of you that still have your gifts. Be happy that you do.
I started seeing a spirit when I was a child as well. But I am lucky in that it has stayed with me my whole life thus far. My Mum said that she believes it was the same spirit who visited her when she was a child. And we believe it to a distant relative watching over us.
To be unable to apply those gifts, turning them into applicable skills in daily life.. I think snuffs the advancement of the gift.. It would be like owning a camera.. only to tell others you have a camera.. yet they never see you take any artistic pictures.. so they may be happy for your gift but they may want to see how you develop as a photographer.. if you only claim to be a photographer yet are not motivated enough to learn from either instruction or private practice you will just turn out to be another person with a camera.. who if you ever have someone ask you to show them your portfolio.. you will have either nothing to show or seriously amature photos at best..
Well some of us may not have much film to use our cameras and so we have to wait until we have more film and maybe then we can show more but if you're a shy photographer .....uh what was we talking about..?
What quality photos do you take.. are they artistic or self exploring?
Art and self-exploration DO often go hand in hand, if not always.
As an amature photographer I tended to take more pictures for others then myself.. usually photos that where of value to peoples understanding of things they may have suspected exist, yet never saw .
when i was little my grandmother died and i saw her spirit.Just to this day I don't know if it was real or if it was a dream
As an older child I was a story teller, I would make up things about my father.. (who was not in my life) that years later I found they where close to the truth.
i think the reason that children can see more spirits and contact the supernatral and such is because they're still pure.
once you lose your purity i think it goes away.
i have lost the gift of tarot and rune reading... that is it... i still have all my wonderous gifts as they are called
Like all gifts, you just have to hone them to keep them. I still have all of my gifts, although some are more difficult than others, because I have not used them in awhile, and they take more concentration, but they are not impossible.
I am with rogue(sp?). I think I am dormant and waiting for things to happen. I think some have already begun to emerge that didn't before I started practicing wiccan. I think it is cool.
I'd like to think that honing would have worrked, but it just ended so abruptly. I still get that "hair raising on the back of my neck feeling"whenever something else is in the room, but no voices or full bodied apparitions. I really think that as a child, I was alot more open and( dare I say it?) vulnerable. As I grew I experienced many things ( as do we all) that either harmed me or made me feel like I needed to build defenses. I think these learned defenses are what blocking them out.
DiabolicMessiah that is a very could possability as to why it is being blocked, some people just fear their gifts so they close them out then later in life they want to be able to get back in touch with them and it can be very difficult, but it can be achieved.
I used to read thoughts, haven't done that in a while... have whole conversations especially with my mother, and then wonder why nobody else had clued into the conversation, when they had been standing right there.
I used to play tricks on one guy at work doing this... as he qwas easy to project to... peope would walk into the kitdhen and hear a onesided conversation... and wonder who he was talking to... he'd say ... him... and they'd say that I hadn't said anyhting... and I'd say... "You're right, I wasn't talking to him out loud... but i still want you to do that the way I told you to."
*laughs*
Practical jokes with telepathy are fun... LOL.
But it was always random... just something that happened every once in a while and could not control.
Well you know, kids can remember their past lives and often describe them to adults and sometimes it's proven. Documented as well. They haven't been taught to ignore the paranormal and other side of "life", nature, etc.
I have never seen any thing really strange - like shadow people or ghosts or even communicated telepathically - BUT I had this really cool great aunt, her name was Emma. She lived with us when she was in her 80s and I was about 16. I loved her so much, she was a riot - she watched Magnum PI reruns because Tom Selleck was so cute (she loved him) and she knitted silly hats and slippers and made you wear them - but she was funny and sarcastic and amazing. Anyway, she was old, and she'd had some heart problems and she ended up in the hospital for a few days - and me, being 16 - I went out to a movie with my boyfriend at the time. So we stood in line, we bought the tickets and we were in line to get candy and popcorn when SUDDENLY I had this super super super strong urge to call my home. I just like couldn't get over the feeling - my heart was pounding and I felt like RUNNING home. It was so weird - so I walk out of the theater with my boyfriend who thinks I'm insane...and we call my house - and my Aunt had passed away. And my mother had been trying to reach me - to come to the hospital. It still gives me goosebumps to think of it. I have never felt that way since...
Riallisa....Thank you! so far that was my favorite! very personal & touching.
..when i was 7 or 8 my big sister had a friend that was like a big brother to me..my brother died before i was born so he was the closest thing i had to a bro..we knew eachother so well we could have been siblings..well..a little while after we met him we got a call from the police.. my sisters friend Anthony Prince had committed suicide.. my entire family ran over to his house and the police were everywhere..his mother was in tears..since then tho i have mad a vow that whenever i senced that someone was depressed i would always b there to help them
That reminds me of when I was in the big house we lived in and I was a young person. I think I was affected the most in that house. It was haunted and I heard things all the time there, had things happen to me personally and I knew even then that it was ghosts. Nobody seemed to be bothered by the fact that I was bothered by it and having panic attacks. I am not sure why they started. Could be because of the stress of it all at a young age. They thought my crying spells were because I was a brat. =( I later got apologies from my Mom.
Once when I was about 5, I had a premonition dream. I have dreamt of the day after and everything happened exactly as the dream before.
Later on in years, still young I used to have a sort of deja vus, like meeting people that I haven't met before but I was sure I have seen them already etc...
Then I had poltergeists expiriences when I was a teen and my 6th sense was stronger when I was child, maybe I should start listening more to it but as a young adult I find myself always worried about something.
Though I am never sure if these things I see relate to childhood psychosis on a mental level when through the eyes of the child one does see the apparitions like that of any other individual in front of them...Or through the eyes of the vampire. But, I can calmy state that I do see the other side on a regular basis.
No, I have no proof to back my claims since I am the only individual that sees them on randomness as well as occasion. Though my wife does witness these happenings, she does not see the other side like I do, but she does sense it when it is active.
Given that we do reside in NOLA, it is almost a given to live in an active (haunted) location.
Sure you can get back your gifts just you need a open mind
i have never had something like that and i believe that modernization destroys the potential for such paranormal happenings because it promotes a belief in the mundane and nothing else
I am not sure you really lose those kinds of gifts they are just harder to use as you grow up. you are much more a free thinker as a child you don't question everything you see in your head first. I saw the future as a child and I know I have blocked it as an adult because I don't want to know but it still happens when I am open to it.
what I have found out thru conversation with mom is that I used have many imaginary old freinds people I used to talk to on a daily basis including my grandmother got her call right before she past away tell me it was her time and not to be afraid as I grew up I lost the ability to actually see I hear things now and again but as vividly as I once did no. many thing have change in my life and in that time other thing have become more clearer I have become more empathic as time goes on I can see images and actually taste thing but I do wish I could speak to those lost soul I used to speak to
Childrens minds are much more open which means that they have an easier time seing and communicating with the alternate and when you grow up, you loose some of your imagination. The gift is not lost, it is just dormant and with luck it can be re-awakened.
I have had the ability since I was about 11 and I still have it today, but I have learned to block most of it when I am doing something else, so I can control it now, unlike when I was little.
I am once again trying to develop the gifts i lost as a child. It is taking much work to accomplish something that we were all born with. To rewaken the 3rd eye is not a easy task. As being lost of the gift as a child.
wen my son was 4 he used to talk to a lady that lived in the house and it continued till we had the place bleesed
when I was younger just before I had kids I was able to do things I can't do now. When I used to get mad or upset I would focus energy at things on the walls and they would fly off and hit people sometimes depending on how mad I was. I even got it to a point where I could pick one thing and "throw" that at the person who I was upset with but after I had my first daughter I wasn't able to even move a pencil and I tried to get that gift back to learn how to control in a different way but no luck.
Jamie you posted this ..
"Well you know, kids can remember their past lives and often describe them to adults and sometimes it's proven. Documented as well. They haven't been taught to ignore the paranormal and other side of "life", nature, etc." then please provide a link.. for this documented occurences.. really all that documentation will show those of use that may want to understand what it is you would have us believe.. or be convinced exist..
I have never had any special abilities such as that, but maybe the children that do have these abilities lose them over time because their parent's tell them it's not real that it's all their imagination, and they begin to suppress their abilities. Maybe that's why they lose them, because as they grow older and mature they begin to ignore these things and don't notice them at all.
Identifying ones talents is a key to developing, restricting those talents
being gifted is one thing, but never unwrapping that gift, and flaunting the fact that one has a gift (that is yet defined, yet alone utilized) becomes annoying to people that are attempting to develop the skills required for those of us that are not gifted, to assume that one is somehow better connected because of that gift, or should be applauded for the gift they claim. I would need to be convinced that the gift is something that can serve some significant purpose, aside from just being "enlightened".
If someone claims an elixer can cure cancer, I would want evidence as well, I would not be likely to invest other wise.
To have subtle assurance in a meta-verse possibility seems to escape those with sensational expectations, some are content with such after here mystery remaining that way. Sentimental people in grief, and subject to stagnant grief are likely to cling to sensational concepts because the grief they are "countering" is equally felt to be overwhelming, thus I imagine the seeking "enlightenment" as if pushing their clouds out of the way. A personal process with some people. To have others more fringe in their acceptance, push that enlightened accelerated emotional focused extreme is a very insulting thing, as much an intrusion as Evengilist religion, because even in religion there are splinter groups. To share your faith is one thing, share it with those who gather to do so. but in a discussion you will find people that are convinced of lesser likely possibilities.
Some even believed once and became convinced that to believe served no purpose.
I don't believe we actually "lose" the abilities to do things...I think we just let other things, even certain people, put doubts in ourselves and I think with some understanding to why one "thinks" they lost it...and get down to the roots of it...will clarify things a bit more. :)
I friend of mine and i got into a similar discussion a few years ago. We found some intresting information about why children see and adults generaly do not. There are reaserchers out there that are trying to link pituitary gland size to second sight clairvoyance and so forth. (the pituitary and pinael glands are believed to be linked to the third eye) These people have found that children have larger pituitary glands as, we age its size gets is smaller. Do we lose sight cause the gland get smaller, or does it get smaller because we dont use the sight? They dont know.
Many adults who see and were tested had some kind of pituitary abnormality such as enlargement or small non cancerous tumors. I personaly know a number of people who have special talents who are also diagnosed with pituitary disorders, including myself. My childhood gifts never went away in fact they got worse, found out a year ago i have a tiny pituitary tumor.
If i can find the reseach again i will post a link. I hate siteing info and not giving the links to back up my info. sorry.
when i was young i also used to talk to people i truly saw. But as i grew older it went away. I can sense energy and spirits in the room or the general area, but have not been able to connect with a "ghost" . Though i would love to.
Im visited by my grandfather and dog (both deceased) but no communication, just a quick wave and thier off.
i was five i use to have preminishions about what was going to happen i lost it till i was 17 and i got it back and i dont know why it saved my life though
I feel alot of people grow up and lose sight of their gifts that they have. I mean the whole growing up thing and being more aware of lies and bull people tend to block out their talents / gifts.
I personally believe that children are more open to such things more so than adults due to the fact that they are not subjected to societies views at such a young age.
We are taught either through education or through church's that those things do not exist and all are in our heads..people are scorned usually for believing such things so they try to push it to the back of their minds so that they will conform.
Keeping an open mind I think gives us the gateway to what most think are impossible.
If I go someplace and I get this hair on the back of my neck stand up feeling, I start digging into the place or area. I guess that is a gift but had never really thought nothing about it.
Poeple have often said that I was crazy because I would tell them about my conversations with my little brother that died when he was 10 months old. Vivid dreams about him and my other brother, together and how they looked alike the whole 9 yards.
We were moving my husband out of his first house and coming down the stairs I felt a hand on my shoulder but it was a forceful touch, almost as if I were being pushed down the stairs. Let on I found out that a woman had died in the house and that she did not like any women being in her house. Children and men were fine.
I agree with that last post - that children have an open mind.
i think that without realising it our minds put up this "barrier" of sorts, so that things like this normally dont happen to people once they start to grow up.
i believe it is only the truly innocent and child-like who can have these experiences as an adult.
yes that is true but some cases you loose it and get it back years latter you know
In my younger years I was very sensitive to those that walk amongst us; it seems all my siblings were to a certain extent. As I aged it seemed to fade and change, but never completely left me. Now days it comes and goes, but its much different than it used to be. I can usually feel the presence of one near me, but I cannot hear them or see them. Another interesting dilemma that often plagues me…..sometimes when I touch a person I see and feel things, usually painful things from their past. I have no control over it and never know when it is going to happen, but I hate it every time, sometimes a persons past is best left buried and undisturbed.
Utah Vamp, I read through many claims (a hobby) and I learn through what is not said.. to file through and sub catagorize, I would put that at the top in a thin stack. A very concise account. Thank you for posting that, I am sometimes overwelmed by those that claim things just for attentions sake, the moment you inquire as to their claim ability, you are met usually with"Why are you questioning me, do you not believe me?"
A discouraging thing to someone who is seeking to ground the experience, no "enhance it". An assurance of claimed gifts.. that is a valuable element.
