Knowing the laws and what could happen. Would any of you use dark spells for any reason?

No I would not use dark spells in Wicca. For one thing, Wiccans do believe that anything wrong we put out into the universe comes back on us in threefold. Spirit, mind and body. Even the Law of Attraction is what we put in the Universe of our thoughts can also come back to us.

A Wiccan can never do a spell for someone without their permission.

Maybe other's do dark, but to my taste it is only white magic.

I am very glad the type of responses I have been getting. thank you. I too wouldn't use dark magic, I believe we need to be responsible in what we send out.

WEll I am not Wiccan, my opinion of white and dark is this , it is all with the intent. There are some pretty hardcore banishing spells that are considered black, BUt being that I tend to wander between two sides of light and dark I don't see them all as being Black Magic.
It is all n your heart and what you intent is.

Well, it has been my experience that Wiccans are highly ethical people. And in their belief system is a "do the right thing" message. So that's why I believe that most wouldn't partake in that, including me.

Wicca is a harm none n three fold sort of jumble soup for sure.
Personally I don’t think most “wiccans” who believe the concept of three fold would…. Mind you for the ones who know three fold is a mistake idea taken to great heights in the need on book shelves for watered down systems of magic under the “wiccan title” wouldn’t think twice performing any art of magic …. After all there is no three fold and magic is nutral.

That's true about wicca. But me on the other hand, if it's someone I really wanna get even with, I would take my chances.

No I would never just black magic but for more then just the three fold rule I believe magic should only be used to help others. we create enough to harm other with out using magic.

But if someone harmed me, yes I would use what ever resources needed...No harm would come as it would be as protection. Not something I dabble in but when push comes to shove, youcan bet your arse I would

The answer is no for several reasons. 1) any evile will come back on us 3 fold. 2) we are out there to help people not hinder them. If anything i will use a spell of protection.

LOL thanks guys i feel loved. What I mean by that post is if I knew how to do it, and I knew how it would work. There are a few people that I owe big time, and be getting it in return times three would be a fair trade. So yes i would do it. I'm strong I can take it. Don't fear me I'm harmless! lol. I am Wiccan I would not use Dark Magic. I wouldn't use it to get even with any one etc. Because I believe that it will come back to me three fold and I also believe that in time if some one has done something to you that they will get what they did back three fold.

Dark Magick and Spells are something you shouldn't ever use. Not only do they harm but they come back 3 times as bad to the person that casted it. I feel that it's not only a bad thing to do. It can also cause events to unfold that shouldn't.

If someone would put a spell on me, I would filter their spell, but not send it back to the person who sent it ill on me. I never do spell work when angry that is my #1 rule for myself.

I sort of agree with LadyDarkRayne. I am a witch who is not necessarily Wiccan and there comes a time occasionally when push comes to shove and the extra oomphf is needed to protect your own self. It's all about intention one way or the other.

NO, never... the thought has crossed my mind a few times but then i think of what is going to come back to me. I know it will.. I have seen it happen to others. Plus anyone that does me wrong i belive that comes back to them without my help so i don't need to take chances of harming myself by harming another.

No i would not use it because I do think things come back 3 folds and i have bad luck on my on do not need it to come back on me because I wanted to get back at someone.

If so, was there any kind of backlash that you had to deal with, and after dealing with it did you resolve never to make the same mistake again ?

Hmmm.....ok. Time 4 the unpopular answer here. YES! and OFTEN! Not for jollies not for power trips, vengeance or any other petty reasons. Dark magic exists 4 a reason. To balance the scale. light and dark, life and death, all must exist 4 harmony in this Realm. Without sorrow, what good is joy? without darkness, what need do we have for light?

Oh... for the record...not a wiccan. I claim no set Dogmatic path. Let's just say I take that which works for me from all that I learn and discard that which is of no use to me.

Yes i would probably use dark spells if i knew how.
I have been told by friends that are Wiccan that they are good to use on people that have wronged you in one way or another.
Usually i am not a person to get revenge but there are some that have done things you just cannot forget or forgive so dark spells would be a way to get things straight.

I think that one should not use black magick. One should use good magick. Even if one was to use black magick in the end you would probally regret it.

I would not use dark arts for any reason - I would not want the return effects.

I'm not Wiccan. I would not use dark magic because I don't know how. I don't want to know how. To Tell you the truth I think there was a time when IF I had known how to do it I would have done the evilest most foul Magic there is on my ex-daughter-in-law. Not only has she made my sons life a living Hell, but mine as well. She will not let us see our Granddaughter. She is evil incarnate. I believe she would scare the devil. But I have come to terms with her and her nature. I spend my time hoping my granddaughter will come looking for us when she turns 18. She does know where we live. So, back to the question, I don't think that messing with Dark Magic is a good idea.I respect those of Wiccan beliefs. I think they know what they are talking about.

Im not wiccan but if you follow that religion and posses unatural powers than you should use that to get at somebody because they dont have it its unfair.

Good magic and bad magic are one in the same. A spell itself isn't evil. It is how it is used that determine whether it is good or evil. the good or nad is not in the magic, but in the heart of the practitioner.

Bronze, I believe you're thinking of the "three fold" law that what you send out comes back 3times strength at the practicioner.

I think that all magic is neutral, it is the intent of the user that determines if it’s black/white or gray/neutral.

In answer to Dabbler’s question about “degrees of intent” I think in this decision it has to be upon the conscience of the practitioner. In my case, before any spell I examine my intent and would it infringe upon the free will of anyone else and if so do I have their permission to do it, before I even begin.

Strangely enough if you think of it in the Christian terms of “do unto others as you would have them do unto you” it probably makes more sense.

While I have been tempted to want to use black magic or as I consider it, “hurtful magic”, I fall back on the Harm None teaching and generally go for a protection or patience spell instead. Causing more pain in the world will not aid me in any good way in the end.

Usually if someone wrongs me, I will do my best to find a working to make them see what they've done wrong. If that isn't enough, then I'll resort to what would be considered magick of a darker intent.

I would use a protection or binding spell, rather than a dark spell. Three fold kinda scares me.

I personally believe that karma will deal with those that are mean toward you, so i haven't yet. However I'm not wicca so therefore I have no trouble with curses, peronally.

I wouldn't use them due to the fact 'dark' magick seems to be associated with bringing others displeasure or pain or the like. That goes against what I believe in.

Nightfang...I do agree with you. I believe that you should not dabble with dark magic if you are wiccan..nor should anyone for that matter. If you are doing it out of revenge why do that when Karma has a way of dealing with those people anyways?

So very true Dab. I can not say that I would always be ethical if someone were to harm my children or my family. At that point any ethics I have would be out the window.

Even in a "I want something good for this person." can be determined to be something such as for example, enabling. A person in misery, can draw our desire to lift them from their misery. Yet have the effect of comforting them in their lack of resolve to extract themselves from that situation.

While I would be sorely tempted I don't believe I would because of what may happen to me because of the three fold law. Not worth the risk to me.

yup most defently. Laws are broken every day why should one have to stop doing something they have practised all their life. Some laws are just outdated and need to be changed.

We also need to illustrate what is meant here by "dark magic" much is harmfull yes, but dark magic , at least how I've been taught, was usually labelled that due to the source or method of casting. Aquiring answers from demonic forces, while not used to harm others can also be labelled as"dark Magic" harmfull to others? no. danerous to yourself? quite possibly!

I believe that anything that you use to cause harm to anyone is considered dark no matter what the motive or methods are. Whether it is justified or not.

I'm not Wiccan, but from experience the three fold law, does not only apply to wiccans, but we also have to rememebr even our good deeds can come back to haunt us as well. Because in the end all our actions have some kind of effect on us as well as other people good or bad the intent.

Power is to be used. If someone deserved to receive something dark, then I would certainly give it to them. So my answer is yes.

Everyone has free will to do as they wish. It is up to them how they decide to use it and must deal with the repercussions that comes as a result whether it be good or bad.

I am of Wiccan blood but I don't practice Wicca. Concerning this subject though, I would have to say that if someone is cruel enough to use dark magic on another person, knowing full well the law of three, they deserve whatever comes back at them. That's just my opinion though, I'm sure if anyone ever does use dark magic they'd view it in a different light.

Dark magic supposedly drives u nutty my friend i guess jsut wasn't strong enough to hadle it and she is now living at the mental hospital but everyone says she was doing heroin I know the real truth tho it wasn't drugs it was the boogy man she saw him in her dreams and then she saw him in real life after she did a spell she told me about it in her dreams and then after the spell was done Isat their and she started screaming that she saw him again. and Iran from the room and called her mom she had scratches all over her when we returnd to her room her mom called someone I stayed in the room watching through the window as they caried her out.. but after that i've always been careful with any kind of magic I stay away from hexes and dark spells I use magic for good and thats all..

People knowingly break the law everyday. Some laws are just downright stupid and need to be rewritten. If the situation calls for it I am sure we would break any law no matter what the outcome would be.

I agree with thedoctor. If someone was out to harm one of our own we would do anything to protect them no matter what the law says.

Dark spells aren't necessarily evil.. I myself consider dark spells to be those done during the waning("new" moon). As I often say in these type of posts, it all depends on your intentions. If you have ill intentions for the spell, just be prepared to suffer the consequences! For they may not happen right away but years down the line.

There are times when you need to do a little evil to do a greater good...I am not well into casting spells, but If theres a need for me to do something that could harm one person for the good of many, then I would...

The law of three and karma are not factors in my practice of the craft. Such rubbish did not exist until the 60s, and was invented by people who were new to the practice. So I have no reason to caste spells that cause anyone harm,I would not waste my time with magick of that sort.

I agree! The "laws" are a modern addition to the craft and really do not apply as far as I am concerned. As Doreen Valiente wrote, you can not heal if you can not hex. Spells of any kind are placing your will over the natural order!

Wicca is kind of hypocritical. You conjure spirits to do your bidding and then you hide from them. It makes little sense.

It borders on stupidity at times, but I still have a great deal of respect for people who practice it. Many of my friends do. I respect all paths. How else can I expect someone to respect mine.

I think that everyone has a little magic in them. The big problem is some people dont know how to control their inner magic.

I believe that is true. the statement that what goes around always comes around. But depending on the severity of the spell, i would make sure it wasn't anything i couldn't handle if returned three fold.

I would not use such mesures for any reason, to use a spell against another, effecting there free will to me is consicdered dark and evil. if some one was to wrong you it is better to let karma takes its toll than put it into your own hands

Probably nothing. It can be seen as what is good and bad magick is subjective in view. Some person's good magick could be anothers bad.

No, I would not use dark magick to cast a spell. I am a Wiccan and always mindful of the law of three and the Wiccan Rede: "An it Harm None, Do What Thou Will."

However, Wiccans may call upon the dark mother, Hecate who rules the dark moon, for assistance. But that does not mean they are using dark magick.

id use any color of magick... black,white good bad id put a protection spell on myself id get one put on myself by a stronger authority and i would do what i had to do what had to be done.. id take my chances.. you only live once some say... but do you really ?

Yes, I would, but only in extreme sircumstances. If there was someone trying to harm me or my family, and the only magick that could fight it was dark magick, I would absolutely use it. I feel very strong about my family, and if anyone comes against them, i will do what i have to to stop it.

My mom practices Dark magic, however I do not Condone it. Personally, I'm too scared to, lest the spell I place upon someone comes back to me three times worse than what I put on them. *shivers* It's really a frightening thought, neh? Anything I do, anything I wish for, I'm careful with.

To me Wicca is a Faith of SOLIFIDIAN
~ Which means to believe in just this one faith without any personal gain or merit~

I would not use it for the dark curses or anything that falls into that category.
