I have lately thinked on 1 thing. It dosent matter if it is on movies or on pictures. It is same thing that hit me everytime. The female vampires is mainly superbabes (if i can put it that way?) Then the male vampire can look as monsters etc etc. Is this something that mean every female vampire have perfect look and perfect bodyes by nature as a vampire? And the male vampires can look however it dosent matter. What are yours opinion?

I think that if your going to turn some one you would pick some one that is beautiful. But I do not think that all female vampires are hot automatically. Heck I've seen some down right fuggly female vampires. I think that the female vampire can make a victim see whatever they want in order to draw the victim in for feeding.

Like everything else we do..

The most common misconception about vampires is the fact that they are all beautiful. It is not a fact, but a fantasy. Mainly men are directors, especially when it comes to vampire movies. The guy's world will have sexy females as vampires and males as ugly vampires. That is usually to draw in the male audience as well as the female audience. Guys want to see the movie for the babes whereas women want to see the movie for it's usually romantic aspect.

I believe that a vampyre is just how the person looked before transforming, just with more abilities. Therefore if the female vamp is indeed insanely beautiful, she was already but is enhanced slightly. If the guy is downright ugly then he was already and his strength was the reason for his change.

But that's just me...

Hollywood has romanticized vampirism to the fullest extent. I have crossed paths with two people in my life that I feel were TRUE vampires and there was nothing romantic or beautiful about it. I do prefer the Hollywood version to get my juices flowing but I don't believe that is real life!
To try and stay on topic I agree with the previous post in which it stated that you are usually dealing with male directors which will generally cast a hot chick over an ugly one in their films. This is true in dealing with the male casting also.

I've never really thinked about this myself but I'd point out that most male vampires in modern fiction are considered as much a sex symbol as the women. One difference may come up in older fiction...the male vampire was cursed to his position whereas the females were his prey. So regardless of how 'charming' he was, he sought out the 'superbabe' as his prey.

i think that if youre going to turn someone youre going to turn someone you think is atractive, or use full as an a friend wether male, female, superbabes, or monster.

You would naturally turn someone who is asthetically pleasing to you, attractive to you. You would not turn someone who you find to be repulsive.

When the original Eastern European accounts are examined, prior to the advent of popular ghost/ghoul/vampire stories and fictions of the 18th and 19th Centuries, the "vampires" were all described as ... male. Specifically, they were described as "handsome young men" possessing "insatiable" sex drives resulting in their exclusively female victims becoming "exhausted and emaciated" after days of non-stop sex, thus resembling the victims of "consumption" (Tuberculosis) resulting in the vampire's other common name "Nosferatu" ("plague carrier").

Thus, when fictions and movies are thrown out and the actual accounts examined of those reportedly living in the environs of an actual "vampire," none of the traits stereotypically ascribed to the "vampire" are found to be manifest. and the actual Slavic "vampires" turn out to be exclusively... male. As also and not coincidentally were the "Fallen Angels."

Just a few historical facts for those few here who value such.

Humans, as well as Vampires look for a strong link in their species to mate with.
Beauty and pshysical appeal is obviously a factor.
Even so, the whole super sex symbolic vampire...is totally fake. It's all media and an authors ideal.

I have seen ugly female vampire in movies before, i can not think of the names of the movies at this moment, but i can remember seeing a few, and if their are real vampires then their will have to be ugly ones...

I think that vampires in movies and pictures are hot because it's all just to do with the romanticising of the vampire. Making them today to be more of a beautiful sexual thing, rather than a gruesome walking corpse.
It's because people would rather see something good looking and sexual. Bleeehhh.

Yeah, I think in the movies its mainly Holloywood showing that Female Vampires use sex to get what they want, while Males use fear tatics to get theirs. Is it that way in the real world? Not entirely. Its interchangable, its different every time.

The one thing to remember about tv, movies, and books is that babes sell. They need a hot looking girl on the cover in order to push the merchandize. It doesn't mean that real female vamps are all ex models.

The vampire is the most sexual creature of all. Yes, the female version is usually a babe, no problem with that. And yet even the males, despite their appearance, whether Radu, or Lugosi's version of the count, appearance really doesn't matter, are sexual creatures. So gender doesn't matter, though sex does.

I have noticed this as well. It's just a sales tactic, really.....more tend to want to see the movie if there's a kick-ass hot chick in it. I find that it usually doesn't work quite as well if there's only a hot male.
Just my observation. I could be wrong.

It's just a way it get people interested. With movies it's all about the hott chicka's. But if you read Vampire books,
examples...Stephanie Meyers or the Anita blake novels, the male roles are portrayed as beautiful too.

The unique reason why female vampires are portrayed as always sexy in movies it's because sexy women bring money,it happens the same with tv presentors and tv Journalists.

It's not the same in real life for they're still people.

i'd say that if i'm gonna bite someone, it's instinctively a strong one... male or female... i won't choose the weak one... i don't know if that may mean something ...

I think in most part the females are more better looking but if i meant a very handsome male vampire i wouldnt exactly run. Some the males are quite goodlooking well atleast the ones i have seen in movies/ tv.

Female vampires all look like "superbabes" because thats what a lot of guys will go after. While alot of males will look bad because the "superbabes" can target any males because they know we like "superbabes"

To a point I agree with the idea that super hot vamp babes ell movies as well as super figly vampire men seem more evil- and so the film will be more successful...

However, traditionally someone creating a vampire is a very serious undertaking for a vampire. They would first have to get the permission of their sire. Then they would stalk their potential vampling for possibly months at a time before even making themselves known to the target. You have to consider that the person they would be turning is competition, so this person has to be adequately skilled in all areas. For women, attractiveness is an asset (it is for men too, but im not arguing for super-hot male vamps- though i would like to see more of those) so that would make them more successful vampires.

Well, in pictures...It's a lot easier to make the woman look sexy.
Show a lot of chest, leg, etc.
Men, well what can you do.
Also, men are a lot easier to make look REALLY horrific, whereas a lot of women can just look ugly but not necessarily macabre.

I love how Hollywood has made vampires so attractive. It's Hollywood though. I don't see why all vampires would automatically be the most attractive looking 'person' you've ever seen. I doubt in real life that only the most beautiful people would be vampires.

I have seen some ugly ass modern day vampires...And I've seen some sexy ones too. And some average looking ones.
Movies and pictures like to be dramatic. You wouldn't be able to tell it was a vampire if it wasn't.

I've seen this go both ways really, so I'm not too sure what the debate is all about.

Whether it be in movies or just pictures, I've seen the female as well as the male vampires look monstrous and beautiful equally.

As someone said earlyer that vampires may transform to look beautiful for it`s prey. Imagine what a great power that might be.

I think how they look when turned is how they looked in real life but because they don't eat fattening things they become wrath-like in apperance.

I would like to see more movies that had ugly female vampires in it i mean it would be cooler than to see all hot female vampires all the time, but i do not look for to many of thoes types of movies to come out too soon i mean in hollywood sex sells...

Nobody could ever call Lugosi attractive. The character Radu was no beauty but they both had a charisma and a sensuality that most men don't have. Unfortunately, men are the biggest fans of horror movies and they need a little T & A with their female villains. Beauty attracts so use it to attract the prey, but in the feeding let the truth be known.

Not all vampires are beautiful, nor are they any smarter than their native human intelligence allowed.

Sexy vampire chics sell tickets to movies and get ratings...

it's the movies with all their false info that make you think all Vampire women are "super babes". Vamps come in all sizes and shaped, just like real women

I think that female vampires want to ook like that to impress the men...however, not all men go for the skinny women with big breast although a majority do.
As long as she is happy with herself then she should look however she wants to. Be a oddball...it can still be attractive.

Money, money, money. That's why all the female vampires are hot & the guys are not. As kage said most of the directors of vampire movies are men & no matter how professional they are they know what people want to see. Men want to see hot women & women want romance & to see other women portrayed as powerful.

Everything gets warped in the Hollywood lime light. I don't dress in dark long funeral inspired clothing or sleep in a coffin but I am a vampire, I drink blood, I feed off of people's life energies.

As we are speaking on movies mostly here... it is not just the area of vampires that the females are expected to be perfect .. the ultimate os all that is considered sexy and all that. It is that way in most movies. For most roles. After all think about it.. name me 10 females over the age of 40 that have not had surgery to improve their looks... now do the same for men.. the male side will be much eaiser to fill.

A vampire can appear however they want to, to their victim. So they could appear how ever they want to any possible victims.
