About a month ago I was asleep and in what i think was a dream i was being taunted by a dark force that was over me. I woke up from what I thought was that dream to being in another dream were I was being chased. I thought I woke up again to it being day light and being in my room and trying to leave it but a force was hold the door closed and my cats were going crazy trying to attack me. I finally woked up to it being about 3 am dark lying on my back with a dark force over me and me speaking some language i am not used to speaking and this presence finally left. I ran out of the room and told told my sister of what just happened. Does anyone have any idea's?? Has anyone ever tried to wake from a dream state only to be in another and another?

hi, That happened to me once, and there was a little dog like the one from Frasier in it. But I may have attributed it to this weird acidic smell/taste that had flooded the room when I woke up. Either that or something caused the smell. Who knows.

That has happened to me before. But I was about 9 years old before my grandmother died. Every time I would go into another dream, it was the same exact ending...my grandmother in a hospital room dead. I still have that dream

It has happen to me, but not quite as terrifying as your experience.

I was overly tired, and went to sleep. I woke up, or thought I had, and was going about the day as usual.

There seemed to be something different, that I couldn't place. Then there was nothing.

Then it started over again.

After the last time, I woke up in a sweat.
I am not sure exactly what happened.

I do know that there are parts of that dream, that I have not remembered.

Frankly, I don't want to.

There have been many times when in the mist of dreaming, I have forced myself awake.

The only experience like ButterflyxTemptress's is the one aforementioned.

That used to happen to me.. especially when I would fall asleep in less than exciting lecture halls in college.

Get caught between that sleep/awake state where you're aware of what is going on, but your body is still in shutdown...

Because your aware of sounds your mind interpolates the input and you visualize what is happening based on that interpolation and what you perceive it to be. You can't open your eyes.. your body can't move because it is still technically asleep.... "you feel a dark force acting on you..." You want to move, but can't. You try to force yourself awake, so your mind thinks your awake but then the reality hits that you're still asleep and the sequence takes another turn in your mind...

...yeah, there's a basic physiological explanation for this one too...

I've had an experience like that...I've had a few...None quite as terrifying. Some are like a nightmare I'm trapped in, when I'm super depressed then I wake up to realize things aren't that bad but thet still suck. Sometimes when I'm overly tired [this happens too much] I fall into a heavy sleep, and keep dreaming that I wake up, then get up and do things I normally do, then that's a dream and so on...That usually happens when I sleep for 12 hours straight...I don't know...Possibly someone was trying to get to you in your sleep, or your dream is trying to tell you something...

mostly I don't dream. I know why I don't. thee was a time when I did and I have have had this happen. I eneded up having to force myself to move.

I think they termed it sleep paralysis. but, I was not asleep I was fully awake. and once I was able to move I didn't sleep for about 4 days.

I have had experiances like that also. I actually dreamed of a group of cats attacking me too, hehe. Most of the time in my dreams, I know I'm sleeping, and want to wake up in my dreams. I used to dream of that hooded black thing all the time...a couple were very terrifying. I used to have this dream that me and my sister were fighting these things, and then we would push them into a huge black hole. well, at the end when we got done defeating all of them, she pushed me in the hole...very messed up. I used to have that same reoccuring dream. I know that's not exactly the topic, but I had to add that. I'm sure everyone has had dreams of these black dressed demons, or grim reapers, whatever the hell they are.

There are several reasons behind what happened... One could have been an attack by a fear demon. He could have shown you some of your deepest fears... Sounds like a bad thing right, in all actuallity they arent that bad because they cant really hurt you, they just make you confront your fears...

Another reason is that you could have been stressed and an astral being was trying to pull the stress out of you...

Or it could have been a dream walk with your guides/gaurdians. They could be trying to show you something.

Either way, you should be fine, face your fears and they hold no power over you... I am going through the same thing now...

ButterflyxTemptress:

You are Prettyviolence's sister, are you not?

At the time of your experience, did you not have a "Dreamcatcher"?

From what I understand from you sister's post of "Dreamcatchers", aren't they suppose to stop, such beings and/or dreams from coming to you?

Things of this nature are common and usually do not mean anything/little harm can be done. I would suggest going over your homes history and dong some meditation to find out what and why. A quick blessing never hurts.

I had that happen to me once. I was pregnant at the time. Unfortunately I don't remember the details of the dream. I do however remember the part where I was yanked out of the dream & brought back to reality. I've never felt such a force to this day. I still wonder if it was my dream, or my daughter's.

I have had this happen many times once a year in fact on the exact same day about the same time but there is never a dream that I can remember but when I woke up I couldn't move for hours and also couldn't make a noise then suddenly it was gone and I could have sworn that it was a being sitting on me. The mixed clan that I lived with suggested that it was a psi vampire

I have often thought I was waking up only to find myself in yet another dream. Sometimes this happens over and over again for several nights. Often when I do finally wake up I have to get up and move right away because I feel that if I stay lying down I will lose the ability to move. It is an odd sensation.

Several times I have had this same dream within dreams. More often than not they are during times of extreme stress or change where I am looking for the answers to a problem or solution to a situation. In these dreams within dreams I find myself often in real life things that are as someone else described, “off”.

When I get into the next section of the dream I find that I am analyzing what I just did, until I get to a solution. Once I view a solution as the way to be, I return to my normal dream pattern. It’s like my brain insists on not letting go and solving the issue right here and now so I can sleep. Other times they have occurred after what seems to be a visit from a dead relative. I can smell, feel and hear them. While I only see them in the dream, once I wake from that, I am typically totally disoriented as again this usually happens when something big is occurring in my life and their wisdom is most appreciated.

I remember that when I was around 9yrs old i was sleeping and I beleive that the following story really happened but as my parents tell me i think i was in deep sleep.

I beleive that i woke up in the middle of the night in winter and the lights in my room were freakign out (switching on and off - flashing). I got out from the bed and went outside in the corridor to swtich of the lights but i couldn't switch them off since the switch was a bit high. i heard some banging noises on the roof and got afraid but i still went up to the roof to see what it was and when i tried to switch the light, it didn't switch on and the door didn't want to open. i got so afraid that i ran down stairs to the living room and i found mum and dad awake watching a movie and i jsut sat there with them.

When i woke up and told my mum, she told me that nothing of this happened, that the electricity went out due to the bad weather and that they did not stay up long to watch a movie.

I still don't know if this is a dream or not but i'd rather beleive it was since it was to frightening

ON rare occasions I have had dreams of being chased by a ghostly stagecoach with skeletal riders and horses. It often morphed itself to put me in the locale I was in at the time. (e.g. college dorm, street I grew up on)
I would scream so loud, but nothing would come out.
Once I came to the dream reasoning of it not being real, it went away.

The real strange thing is that I now live in the rural areas of a major city and Our neighbors property is outlined by a row of tall trees.. it just really shakes me from time to time and to this day I have not had that dream since moving here.... very strange.

Never had anything like that happen to me except when I was very young, very sick, and hallucinating because of the medication I was on...

I've kind of got the opposite going now, I've got dream control to a certain extent. If I don't like the dream, I'm as apt to change it or simply "change the channel"...

i know i didnt like that feeling. being in a dream within a dream just freaks me out. but when there is something above you, just scared me shitless. i remember when i woke up, the presence was staring at me. and when i tryed to get up it just wouldnt let me. the thing holded me down on my bed. and the next thing i knew, i just felt like hand were being rapt around my neck and i couldnt breathe. im just sharing my story and i didnt think it happens to other people

i know it happen with my sister as well. but with her, they were just communicating. i dont know with who, because i was in the same room and i knew she was asleep. it seemed to me that they were trying to speak english, but it had a very heavy accent that i couldnt understand. i remember saying out loud "i dont understand" and then they left us.

they didnt leave us for good. they are still there. i can see them. just they kinda stoped communicating with us.

That happens to me so often sometime I fear I will never wake up. To be trapped in my own own Nightmare forever, I dont know about all Of you, But that is frightening to me. the last time it happened, it was one of those dreams you die in, for example, right before i die from being hanged, i will be thrown into another senario were it will end by me falling of a tower and right before i hit the ground I will be standing int the middle of a battle feild with some giant swinging a sword at me, so on and so on, etc. It can be irritating, at least to me.

I never saw that movie, though I wanted to. For me, I barely remember my dreams, and sometimes I am awake at 3 in the morning and nothing weird happens...when I'm awake. I think it happens when I'm asleep, but I don't know what I do when I'm asleep.

When you are in REM sleep, and get a "brutal" wakening, it could cause very strange things...

i can't really call this a dream cuz i was awake. i couldn't sleep so i was just lying awake when a tingly feeling just started to take over my body. i tried to move and like, shake it off, but that didn't work cuz i couldn't move. i tried getting up but instead of that working my eyes rolled back. i saw everything shaking, but it didnt feel like anything was shaking. then everything started to spin and i got really dizzy. after a while it all went away, and i still don't know what that was all about.

That has happened to Me a couple times and the first time scared the hell out of Me because I didnt know what the hell was going on. It wasnt till a little later that I realized what it was and it became easier to notice differences from the dream to what I knew was reality.

In response to me being native and the use of a dream catcher. A dream catcher is used by our people to ward off any bad dreams or bad spirits who may try to lurk in our minds. But at the time of having this dream I was not in my home with a dream catcher. In my own home i have not had these experinces because i cleans my home. Each time this has happened to me I was in an new environment.

Im sorry to hear that. I have been told that when your life is full of stress or if things feel like there spinning out of control it can carry over in your dreams. Your mind never stops and some say youcane seek answer in your dreams. Have you ever talked to someone who interprets dreams?

Believe it or not you can learn to recall most all your Dreams. With these simple techniques you can start remembering dreams within the first or second night of practice. It's sort of like self hypnosis in a way. You are simply making suggestions to your mind before you are completely asleep. This state of mind is called the borderline sleep level. It is when your brain is most likely to absorb the suggestions.
They say that certain foods can cause bad dreams. Well I don't know if that's true but, I do know from personal experience that when I eat cheese or drink milk, I seem to have more intense dreams. Not necessarily bad dreams. Then again, sometimes when you eat food before bedtime that gives you indigestion, it might seem that it is causing you to have dreams. This is do to the fact that the indigestion is keeping you slightly awake. You know that borderline sleep level I mentioned earlier, so you are slightly aware of these dreams. There is one other thing to consider. If you are having intense dreams and they are in color then more than likely you are having a OBE. Out-body-experience or otherwise known as Astral Projection. We are not going to get into that for right now. We will on another page. All right let's get going! There are 4 easy steps to this. That's it!

1. Preparing for Bed : Try to get the body as relaxed as you can. If you have to stretch or even do Yoga all the better. You can even meditate to clear your mind, so that that you are more prepared for the next step. You don't have to eat or refrain from eating before bedtime. You may do as you like. Try experimenting with eating different foods before bedtime and see if you get any different results in the end. Make sure you have a pen and pad handy to write with next to the bed.

2. Programing : This is the most important part. When you get to that borderline sleep level (which is right before you are completely asleep) you must tell yourself over and over again that you will remember all your dreams and you will wake up after each dream and write down your experience. If you don't like having to repeat all that then try tape recording yourself saying these things. Make sure that you tape at least 10 - 15 min. worth. That should be sufficient.

3. Taking Notes : This is also very important. If you successfully wake up
after each dream, then you must write down everything you can remember in detail. Write down whether the dream was in color or black and white. This is why we will keep a pen and pad next the bed. Make sure not to put it in the bed with you. You don't want to end up stabbing yourself in your sleep. Then you must try to go right back to sleep. Keeping the pen and pad handy. Hopefully you will go right into another dream and repeat the process.

4. Reviewing the Night : Now it is time to review the night. You will be amazed at how many dreams you actually had that night! I usually find that I have 10 - 15 dreams a night and sometimes more. Everyone dreams and everyone dreams many times a night, they just don't know they do until they try something like this. Make special note of dreams that are in full-blown color, for you will want to reference them once you start studying Astral Projection.

GrieviousDemon is right about taking notes to remember. Ive read a few books on that subject. Throughout the time you are awake you progressively forget parts of the dream, until you only remember the fundamentals. But I will say that from my experience this has not went well. As if I was not supposed to remember my dreams in detail. Perhaps some things are better left alone.

Was a very good suggestion. It does indeed work like a charm, like I said its just the side effects you might wanna look out for. It can be stressful to remember some details. It can be a lot on ones mind.

GD, what you say is true to an extent. but according the the sleep therapist that i have seen at a sleep clinic, the only time that I am able to dream is when I am able to reach REM sleep state. because of a nervous disorder that I have I rarely reach that state of sleep. I am almost always fully aware of what goes on around and yes I wake up very tired because it is like I do not sleep at all most nights.
there are times that I do reach REM but it is usually drugged induced.
whether or not I dream then I could tell you as most of the time I feel as if I am floating in blackness.
but as far as my sister is concerned, it does sound like she was attacked, but it is not an easy thing to have happen in our house as there are many protections against such attacks.

It would be an very strong whatever it was to break through.

I do agree with my sister it would be hard to be attacked in our house. We have everything cleansed and blessed. I have noticed when im in suroundings were Im not in the presence of family and my native rituals Im more prone to these dreams. I do know that you have to be in a rem sleep to dream but also there has been times were your asleep but can sense things are happening around you. Im not sure if its being atacked or not. Other then this one time my sister Hot 4 blood and I had a old house together where we had a Demon experience were she was awoken to a demon above her and I also had this experience. We both found ourselves in deep prayer and the demon left. Im not sure why it happened but am ready for it if happens again.

I think that it is very important to make sure that before you go to sleep that you do put wards or such up and do a cleanings just before you lay down.

going to bed with negativity could also attract certain creatures.

I don'r recall having the exact experience.
But,years ago I did have "waking dreams" 3 nights in a row.
I'd be physically awake,of this I'm sure, but my mind would continue to dream.
The "dreams" were mildly morbid & I had a sick feeling in the pit of my stomach.

I've been there before I think it may have been a dream where a demon apeared and interfreared. I had to fight it off most of the night. My fight didnt end until the break of dawn. Where I managed to get it caught in a deamcatcher in the corner of the room. My medicine women later picked it up, (the DC.) and blessed the room. I heard later that she burned the dreamcatcher.
