do u think that giving blood to a vampire can become an addiction?
i was thinking about this and in many books it has happened but does it really happen?
I personaly beleive that it could give a person pleasure or pain both of which someone is always seeking.
So perhaps if the situation is right a person could become addicted to it.
Like a blood slave.
I'd say that anything that produces a desired response (whether it be positively reinforced or negative) can become a psychological addiction.
Yes it can become An adiction.
The feeling.
The Pain.
~Yours In The Darkness~
V---V
For those that are into bloodletting and drinking, the pleasure, etc it may cause them could be addictive. Each person is an individual in this.
'Cutting' could be a decent example of a similar situation or action that develops into a more psychologically addicting habit.
I would compare it to the addiction of getting more tattoos after you've had your first. You know it can hurt like hell, but the high that comes with it is a delicious treat.
And there are many things to take into consideration when someone gives blood. There establishing a connection between the person who is taking. This special bond can make someone codependent. And ofcourse if sex is involved between the donor and vampire then that only strengthens the risk for addiction.Anything that can pleasure someone can become an addiction.
Some people love the thrill and pleasure when receving pain from the needle and some get off by watching the sight of blood. SO yes it can become an addiction but really what hasn't become an addiction now at days?
not sure if this is related but i was addicted to giving blood for 2 reasons: it pain 35 dollars everytime i did it, plus i like the feel of the needle
Eek! I wouldn't be addicted to needles.Although I was contacted by someone who said they were doing research on vampires not too long ago. They said there main interest's were studying those that injected the blood of others directly into there veins. They tried to arrange a meeting with me, but I had to refuse for lack of trust in there studies.
yea, well in dracula 2000 that guy did it so he could see what dracula saw,
sorry, im a sick puppy
Well if you donate plasma, after they extract the plasma from your blood they inject the blood back into you...not sure how satisfying that would be though.
It is my belief that anything could have the potential to become addicting.
indeed, the blood, the pain, its so thrilling, although i havent given any for bout 5 months its still pretty wonderful to my morbid mind.
It is more a psychological, or perhaps social addiction. It really depends, in my mind, on every different person. If you can't stand pain, generally you wouldn't have an addiciton. However if you are the masochistic type, I can see how it would work.
If you like making people happy and that's your source of enjoyment in life, I can see you becoming addicted to that sense of doing something worthwhile. (Really depends if you think it's worthwhile as well).
Also, if you simply like that dizzy feeling and rush of adrenaline, we all know that is addictive.
Otherwise people wouldn't base jump off huge cliffs or skydive.
Same deal, some people find it thrilling...others not so much.
Some like pain, some avoid it at all costs. Some drool over the sight of blood, others pass out. It all depends on the persons, and in my opinion, and not so much of the situation. If you like, you'll do it again in time, if you love it, then you cannot wait for enough time to pass to do it again, hence an addiction.
I believe to some it can be an addiction. Some people have an addicting personality, and take and do things to the extreme.
There are others that do it for other reasons, they enjoy the pleasure, the pain, the mystery.
There is a wide variety of reasons. But my point is this.
It can be addicting to some, just like other things can be addicting. I think it seriously depends on the individual.
its could have to do with your personality..if you have an easily addictive personality, or what things you like...such as pain...what feeling you get from which ever way blood is taken. there's many different ways it could or could not happen
I'm sure that for some people it could become addictive. Not all though.
I am sure that i tbecome an addiction. Especially if you love the vampire. Not only for the pleasure in satisfying the vampire, but the feeling of ecstasy as your blood is being drained out of you. Extremely pleasureable, and therefore addicting.
Yes I would think it could be very addictive. I think if nothing else for the pain factor! There are lots out there that enjoy pain & even cut to get the feeling. So yes I would see it as very similar to cutting & think that both would be very addictive!
I think that it could potentially become an addiction. Especially if the vampire is giving blood back.
Why reading books when you can meet us?:)
Lets say try finding one of us at full moon night.
Heh...I'm of the belief that just about anything can become an addiction.
I would just hate to be the guy that's addicted to licking the underside of office desks.
LOL! I agree that anything can become an addiction. You just have to becareful and realize just how bad that addiction can get.
it is just like gettin a tatt..once ya have one ya want it again
well i didnt think i would get such good responses to this post but i am glad to have gottten every one thinkning lol
yes anything can be an addiction even just beingnear someone i know i was like that once i was only happen when i wasnear this guy lol but he dumped me several times
abything and everything can become an addiction
we all must really just find a "happy median" in truth not letting everything
take control ofour wants an needs.
thanks for all the replies
ive never parttook in any bloodletting but i think if one gets pleasure from it then most things that are pleasurable can become addicting.......
It can become a masochistic tendency, so in short...absolutely.
for some, the addiction might be more about the connection and intimacy in blood sharing with a certain individual rather than the fluid exchange. But if they are donating to anyone and everyone that sounds like a nasty and potentially dangerous addiction.
I dont know about giving but drinking sure is an addiction for me. mmm *licks lips* Just thinking about it is making me crave.
It gives me such a rush, makes me feel like I'm high and flying. Mixed with lust, passion, and a essence that cant be described.
I am sure it is for certain ppl to give some sort of adiction, still it could be very risky if oyu have some blood problems, I am anemic so icant do it and also when I do blood letting, Joshua wont let me caus ehe fears for my health.
If cutting can be an addiction for some people, I guess giving blood could be.
I believe it could become addicting,I use to love donating to my husband
I believe giving blood should be an addiction....to the red cross. People need it. If you want to give it, do it there.
I definitely believe it can become an addiction. People find pleasure in many different things. I think this could be one of them.
I believe with anything pleasurable it can turn into a addiction. There is a rush/high that you get from feeding. I could totally see someone needing that fix.
Giving blood to a vampire can become an addiction if the mind is set on that way; usually, if you agree once to give blood, you will agree again when asked... The donors feel the need to be useful, to be used... so giving their blood so others can survive is something that fulfills their expectations.
I know a donor of mine that has moved away now sadly was addicted to it. She seemed to get testy and jumpy if I did not need the blood as offten. I tend to drink only when ehre is a need not just a desire.. I was rasied oddly lol. I also noticed if I would drink just a bit she would calm and be more herself. So at least in that case I think it was. But this has not been the norm for me.
I think that you "can" become addicted to anything. I personally LOVE the taste and the feel of being "fed" on. So, yes, I think that it is very possible to become addicted to all sorts of Vampyric tendencies.....
personally it could either, depending on the person and there feelings to there feeder and or themselves
IMHO I agree that it can become an addiction. You just have to becareful!
I could see it becoming an addiction, alot like drinking blood
Yes, I believe it is just as much an addiction as for the vampire drinking it.
From what I have read and heard; when a vampire drinks from a willing victim he or she gives off a kinda phreamon (sorry for the sp) that sooths the victim.
In some cases this phreamon can be so stong it gives a sexual feeling to the victum.
So yes I believe it can be an addiction because it is just as addicting as sex is.
i think lav explained it quite well and the three possibilities of the blood giving addiction show it too.
masochism
the wish to dedicate
and the dizzy feeling
three things that can lead to an addiction
i believe that it could become an addiction, not only do the psychological prospects seem appealing to people, but the spiritual side of things could possibly cause a deep connection that would mean the donor would want to come back over and over
Any action can become an addiction. The Obsessive Compulsive that have to check the doors 5 times before they go to bed is one example. If it includes pleasure more specifically, sexual pleasure it is definately a possiblity. Especially if you are in need of that closeness, that need to be needed by someone, as you feel when you are feeding a Vampire.
I do believe it can become an addiction, because have you ever felt blood leave your body? It is a very invigorating feeling, when it is done purposefully. Especially when you are being the donor for a vampire. It feels amazing for both parties, so much so that yes, I do believe it can become addicting to give blood... just as it can be addicting to take blood, to drink blood.
I have no doubt , giving blood can very well become an addiction . Maybe not to all , but yes to many it is . It is a quite intimate thing if done properly so how could it not ?
I think people can get used to giving blood, some find it erotic others find it soothing. It's all a matter of a person's perception and reasoning. So yeah it can become addicting, depending on the person.
ok this is just like a thing i noticed when i lived with my mom all i drank was coca cola
well when i started my new job
i drank sprite all the time
then when i went home the coca cola no longer tasted right i couldnt stand it burned my throat made me sick
its the same as this if u do sumething enough ur body will come addicted
and nothing else will seem right
i guess it can be either way an addiction for the pain and feeling or for something else.
I guess it depends on the persons personality.....If they have an addictive one then hell yea....Then again, if it's not for them, then.....*shrugs*
I addiction over blood. I suppose it could be possible.
I like the thought of the obession thing. For me I don't give..but I truly enjoy taking.
I think it might become an addiction to somebody who really likes to be needed. For some it would be thrilling to be needed by a powerful being. Personally, I wouldn't enjoy it. I don't like needles or fangs.
I think that it could become an addiction. They call me every six weeks (type O- lol)
I prefer now giving and receiving in a more personal way ;)
Hmmm, yes, I have heard that you can get paid for donating blood in the states... sounds wonderful. i used to do it every 10 weeks... or however often it was that they allowed me to do so. It was not only the thrill of the needle... adreneline rush... a meditative focus... a feeling of helping others... camaradery... cookies... but also the release of tension. Actual loss of blood through injury also feels good... perhaps it is the anticipation of the growth of new cells... I do not know.
I wish that I was still allowed to donate blood... Bloody Malaria. Are you allowed to donate blood in the US fr 35 dollars if you have had malaria 15 years ago? LOL
I believe it can be an addiction because one could put it hand in hand with self-mutilation. To give blood, self mutilation must happen.
Yes I do believe it could be a large addiction. I know that its become an addiction to me and many others.
i believe yes it can become an adiction, especialy with two people are are together and depend on each other for their strengths.
well i have had atleast 2 doners get addicted to it i dont think its so much to do with the giving of blood more to do with the enjoyment of you feeding off them
Yes, perhaps the giving of blood can become an addiction. By the giving one becomes euphoric. Maybe the euphoria cannot be acheived any other way therefore the individual donates blood again and again
I agree LordFangor. The euphoria that can only be achieved by bloodletting is very unique and addictive.
It’s possible for it to be an addiction, if you do anything for along enough period of time or often enough it will become a pattern. Since giving and taking blood can be a sexual I can see where someone would get addicted to giving blood to their partner.
it happens, people start to enjoy thus kinda of things by pleasure or pain
It has yet to become an addiction to me.
My friend, though, is addicted to my blood he says...
I donate my blood to lifesource blood services. I know I am helping others - but I am addicted to the feel of my body reenergizing itself by making new blood. Gotta love the fresh stuff! (Also O neg.)
The last time I lost a large amount of blood I kind of panicked, but I loved getting the blood transfusions. I knew that it was helping me, and one time it actually put me to sleep
giving blood to a vampire is very addicted to certain people how bad of an addiction depends on what type of person it is
People could become addicted to giving blood. People get addicted to pain, don't they? It is also a matter of power. The person giving blood has power in that the vampire needs that person. Power is always addictive.
Addiction does NOT apply to everything that makes you feel good. Addiction is used to describe a specific reaction of the body to a habit-forming stimulus. I'm so tired of "addiction" thrown out at every temptation. It's a poorly conceived excuse to do what you like without accepting the consequences of choice.
Giving blood feels good. If you do it too much, take action and back off a little for chrissake.
I agree with everyone on this one... anything can become a addiction if you let it
Loved Joli's response to this one, btw. ;)
Just as Joli rightfully bristles at the manner in which terms like "addiction" are thrown about here, I likewise bristle at how equally carelessly people accept as fact characteristics, like blood drinking, that are not historically and not factually vampiric in nature.
Blood-drinking was never considered a vampiric trait until fiction writers began portraying vampires as bloodsuckers. And that's the historic fact.
Now, if you find it empowering to think yourself a vampire because you have imagine that you crave blood... then fine. And if you can find someone whose own masochistic or other fetishist tendencies has them more predisposed to serve as your "victim," then enjoy the roleplaying together as you both mutually consent to do.
But neither of you should permit the delusion that you are, in fact, truly vampire and victim. Try to at least recognize the facts here: blood drinking and/or blood giving are no more inherently vampiric than either activity is inherently addictive.
Yes I believe it can be addicting , just like many other things..
There are individuals that are masacistic in nature and do enjoy this type of activity. I believe individuals that are purely masacistic may become addicted to this type of activity because it would fill that desire. Although, so as not to step on any toes, I am not saying that all individuals that perform this activity are masacistic.
Things that create positive or even negative physical emotional responses, can stimulate chemicals in our mind and form stronger neural pathways that thrive on those emotional or physical pains and pleasures. In such a way, we find ourselves feeling more comfortable in the midst of those feelings or sensations. When we aren't experiencing them, we feel 'wrong' or out of sorts.
This is the meaning used when talking about psychological addiction. It's not to say that a physical dependency has been formed with an action but more to recognize the psychological disorder that can be created by constantly reinforcing an action with a feeling.
This is the reasoning behind those that continually form abusive relationships, those that perform self mutilation, those that allow sex, or porn to become so pervasive that it can interfere with normal everyday life, or even those that habitually commit crime or other dangerous activities for 'adrenaline rushes'.
In this way, anything can become an "addiction" if reinforced to the point that it interferes with your normal life, work, or relationship.
painful addictive seductive alluring
Hell Yessssssssssssss
Well I give blood all the time, and personally, it hurts.....but it helps the millions of people that my blood may go to.....the Red Cross! But I do it religiously anyways
Nice try, FelixFelix. But the word, addiction is used far too often as a crutch. It's bandied about with every noun and verb you can name. I just don't buy it.
Yes, things can feel really good. Yes, they can release endorphines and even make your toes curl up like the wicked witch of the west as you moan more convincingly, but "addiction" is not the term. "Compulsive" might be..."poor self-discipline" might be, but come on!
Why do we keep elevating our own self-victimization? Take a walk already...pet your damn dog. Balance out your time and grow the hell up.
I'm simply using a dictionary definition. Compulsion is addiction.
Third down in the list of definitions of the American Heritage Dictionary is:
ad·dic·tion (ə-dĭk'shən) Pronunciation Key n.
The condition of being habitually or compulsively occupied with or or involved in something.
Compulsion and even psychological addiction doesn't remove the personal responsibility associated with it. Defining a problem doesn't remove the burden of cause from the 'afflicted'. They are not a victim...they simply need to recognize that there may be more work required of them than usual to make up for their bad choices.
Yes, I do think it can become an addiction in that most things which we find pleasurable are bond to become habit forming.
It can become an addiction if you are really into it.....if it gives you that amount of pleasure...i mostly take blood but giving it....well...lets just say it can be addicting
Anything which causes an emotion different to what you feel constantly can become an addiction.....its that tiny bit of pleasure or pain that wakes you up.
if the person like the way it makes them feel then yes it can be very addictive
I dont know if its so much as an addiction to giving blood and wanting to keep that connection with a vampire.
If it is something the person gets a rush from then yes it can be addictive
I think it can be very addictive especially if you have vampiristic needs...
dude its more addictive than weed. it is like if your not bleeding. your trying to bleed.
