If you were given an oppurtunity to sell your soul for one wish, and you wished to become the devil. Would that come true? Or how would that work? Secondly, are there any ways to get around this wish?
Well if you are of the belief that the devil is real, then you would also believe that he will trick & deceive you! I guess if it did come true, then you would maybe become a part of him, so that you were the devil, but yet he still had the control!
He could just have the illusion of being the devil... being in reality just a poor crazy man talking to himself till he die and give his soul away to the devil who never lost his place...
the book seems interesting btw
If there is a devil,he would most def, trick you.Shure your wish would come true, that is if you don't mind the thing you forgot not to wish for to your wish, and to selling yourself to him for an enternal inslavement.
As I understand, I was researching angels and found that the Devil and Lucifer are two different beings, but their souls are intertwined. So if you were to wish to become him, then your soul might get mixed in there somewhere.
I think that maybe your essence would become a part of the devils somehow. trapped forever. eh...not too sure though but then its not something i wanna think about too much with the whole karma thing ;)
I would have to say No .... Evil has his own hidden agenda. You would probably get more than you ever bargained for and I don't mean that in a good way. I don't see that you would be able to get around it and come out winning. Giving your soul up for just one wish? Perhaps wish for a million more wishes? Either way you gave up who you are and that was the catch, what would it matter in the end
I honestly couldn't begin to imagine how that works...perhaps wishing to be the devil is part of the deal? maybe being the devil is NOT a fun or good thing, like it's a punishment and wishing for it traps you into it until you can trap someone else by getting them to wish for it?
I personally don't believe in the devil, so I have no opinion on selling my soul to it/him.
I edited and moved this post BACK to the general forum because I think it deals with things DIRECTLY of a paranormal nature, and from intelligent people should elicit intelligent discussion. If a dominar has trouble with my decision, please message me privately in order that we resolve the issue.

I have to say that I agree with CLIX as well. It is way to early for me to look at this from the if the devil exsists sort of way so I will go from the my perspective and opinion way....
I think that if you are going to sell your soul for one wish then wishing to be the devil would only stab you in the back, why would anyone that possess the ability to grant one wish of that nature be willing to turn that ability over to someone else? I highly think it would simply be a muse or faded reality to the wisher if that wish were granted. Im not sure what I would wish for if given the opportunity or to be honest that I would take that opportunity, but I would have to say if I did, I would try to find a loop hole in the system. lol.
Im having trouble sorting out my answer to this post..perhaps because I dont believe in "the devil" as such. From a speculation standpoint though, I might wonder why THE DEVIL would give up his throne, so to speak, in exchange for a mere soul? Especially considering many have been willing to sell their souls for a much smaller price. And if you sell your soul to the devil in exchange for becoming the devil...as Stabb sort of said..would you not then repossess your soul anyway once your wish was granted..ehh...I just don't see it happening...
"Be careful what you wish for .." lol
I'd never turn over posession of my soul to anyone or anything willingly, however if you buy into the theory that you could sell your soul, then you would probably also buy into the theory that an act of selfless sacrifice on behalf of another might free you.
***Secondly, are there any ways to get around this wish?
I keep getting drawn back to this post and the question keeps bouncing around in my head....thanks DreamScars lol..
Anyway Im not sure I understand what is meant by this last part of the question..
Does this mean ok..you wished it..it was granted..and now you think maybe it wasn't such a keen idea so you want to get out of the deal?
Piers Anthony - For Love of Evil...the idea that at the moment the devil comes for your soul, you could challenge the devil and take his place. I've always preferred the idea of first working as a middle manager in soul brokering and then working one's way into a nice retirement by the lake of fire.
I used to make contracts with the devil when I was 9 but never got his signature. The devil has the best lawyers in history working for him so I'd be of the impression that if you wished to be the devil, he'd still find a way to screw you over in that wish and leave you hoping he'd take it back. Perhaps he'd let you take his job but only right before Armageddon and the devil's trip to destruction (you didn't specify WHEN you wanted to be the devil).
First of all I don't think I would accept that deal. However, lets say that I were to accept I don't think that the devil would allow you to take this wish. It is kinda the same thing as asking for unlimited wishes.
LOL Felix.
There will always be some catch to any deal that the devil makes. Atleast according to our understanding of the devil.
However, I am not sure what experts humans are to speak to the affairs of God(s), Lucifier, and mythological/theological creatures.
lmfao felix....... that was good....i wanna live three flams down from the lake of fire.....
if one were to make a wish and sell there soul i would think that yes the devil would have a loop hole some where regarding that you wouldnt become him or he could just make you the devil of something else who knows .. i do like somes concept as to you might become a part of him in a way that is very interesting .....this is a very good question and like mistressmoonlight ive been thinking about it... and i think my head hurts cause everything i come up with goes right back to your dealing with the devil and your gonna get screwed one way or anouther..........
It's interesting to see the different theories presented here. Would you become part of the devils soul? Does the devil even have a soul?
Or perhaps will you be tricked out of your deal. Considering in situations of selling your soul, the devil is like a businessman, when signing a contract, could you not say in the contract something about not screwing you over?
Also, Stab came up with a good point I was thinking of as well. If you sold your soul to the devil, to become the devil, would you not be in possession of your soul again? Or...if going by the question, does the devil even have a soul, once you become the devil, what happens to your soul?
We're talking about a contract here...that means that once you decide what you want, the Devil would have to agree to it before the contract is made (drawn up, mystically created, written). Now with the worlds best shady lawyers, swindlers, cheats, and corrupt politicians working for him, I'm pretty sure you'd get screwed but if your contract was so airtight that you'd get his job and your soul back in the deal...I just don't think he'd sign. He's not bound until you both sign right?
what a peculiar questions. theres both sides to this. since you were given one wish and you wish for the devils placement, but the devil is a trickster. he may just take your soul and kill you. im not quite sure on this. good question though.
I'd be more inclined to lease my soul with an option to buy... *chuckles*
Or otherwise make it perpetually pay (not a oneshot deal) with a clause that would make it prohibitive for the devil to continue payment, and eventually allow you to repo your soul (pun intended)
To tell you the truth, I think that we do not own the deeds on our souls to begin with, we are renters... the more squalor we choose to live in, the more squalor we live in... it is our choice, and although the soulowner dislikes the decay; the soulowner knows that the land is always going to maintain it's value even if the house on it sinks into decay.
maybe you could say" i would like to take the position of the devil and release my soul from hell." you could get your soul back and be the devil :D
The Devil dose not exist..the wish maybe offered by someother means but no there is no way out of it.. So dont do it..... If you want you can sell me your soul!!
If we are only to respond to this question as though the wish is being granted (as decreed by Stabb,) then I would answer in the affirmative...why not come true? Who's to say there can't be more than one devil? Or perhaps he'd simply step down in relief..bitch of a job, that one, and nothing but negative press.
If you're already thinking of how to get out of the wish, might I suggest you make another? Or simply add some fine legalese print to your wish. Not that it's necessary...you're the DEVIL! Chuckle and walk away...you get to be the liar of all liars :)
Wait. I'd want interest.
And being the devil is the master of lies, deciet, manipulation of half truths? Maybe you should be more specific.. or you may end up "the devil" of some really bad cartoon.. or worse... "the devil" on michael jacksons shoulder.
I dont trust the Devil
She can't have my soul no matter what she promises to give me for it.
southernfreak summed it all up.. the devil if you believe cannot be trusted as his is the master of all trickery and deciet.
Maybe so, but if your wish is for something delightfully self serving or sinful, it's unlikely that you'll get any help attaining it from 'the other guy'...so your stuck dealing with me...errr I mean him.
Hello and good evening,
It is well you bring up this subject,... A wish... to one that believes in this also saying you don't believe in the devil... Hmmmm... wishing is not good and only the devil lets you wish.
I agree with the person who had said before about the Devil tricking you.
I don't think that theres anything worth selling your soul for- unless its someone who you've loved and they're in trouble- or unless its to save your family
no... you see everyone has there own destiny in life... and thats the one thing you cant take from them... so i believe that you could wish for anything but to become another living spirit...expecially when your talking about a God!!!
I would never, ever sell my soul to the devil to begin with.
for me.. no this is not possible for two main reasons. One. my soul is not mine to sell.. I am simply useing it at this point in time ... I do not have the right to sell it so i can not. And two.. satan.. the devil... to my beliefes does not exist.. simply a boogy story told to frighten people into listening to the Christian priess. So nope for me it wouldnot be possible. But them those are just my beliefs
yes, same here - but this is a hypothetical discussion (I hope)
some might argue the devil has already won our souls. if your soul is your free will, and that has been surrendered - you have already lost your soul. if the devil is truly the prince of lies, then it would be foolish to enter into any kind of bargain with him. you'd definetely get screwed.
i highly doubt it would come true, why in the world would the devil grant anyone to be him??
if given the chance i dont think i would make a wish to be the devil, because i would mnot want that responsiblity i mean if you wish that what ever he dose you have to do no expecations and what would happen to the blance if u screwed stuff up
I wouldn't want to be the devil. Its because I don't believe in him.
Don't take such a narrow minded view of the poor chap. Sure it might not be the very best job in the world...and it might require a lot of hard work being the devil (and let's face it the retirement plan sucks)...but any job of any amount of success, can be rather thankless and requires a lot of hard work so really this one isn't much different.
The perks are pretty nice too. Do you know how much the average person is having to spend on heating alone this winter? When is the devil going to be short on his heating bills...really? When hell freezes over, that's when. Plus you've got that whole travel thing and as I've stated before, you've got the best lawyers in the business...in fact, the Devil probably also has the best musicians, the best artists, the best actors, best scientists and the best gamblers working for him or entertaining him. That's nothing to sneeze at (don't say "god bless you").
Look, I doubt you'd get the position simply by wishing for it or even signing a contract for it. He's DAMNED - not stupid. But if he did give it to you, it'd probably be to get himself out of that golf date that he has with god (it's just a huge turd on his calendar anyway for damn sakes) or to skip town before Armageddon. No...I think we can safely say that The Big D has got things sorted out how he likes for now and isn't going to just fire himself because some noob has gotten it in his head that the Devil is a genie in a lamp.
I would never sell my soul to the Devil . But be careful what you wish for. The Devil lies so how do you know , you would get the wish you wanted . He could do or make you something else !
this is what i am wondering ....if there is really a devil....does he have a soul?
i dont see how thats possible. if you seel your sould to him, then he can do whatever he wants with it. which means that your soul cant intermix with his. so in other words you just be handing your self over to him, and he doesnt even have to trick you.
Like with all wishes if you wished you were the devil careful you say which one cause you could end up a tasmanian devil or one of the devils fingers that way he could use you to poke things. Always be specific with wishes
I don't believe in God, but there is something about the devil... Anyway, I don't think it could even be possible to become the devil. It just wouldn't work, too many bad "guys" as it is. The devil wants to be the "baddest" guy! I wouldn't sell my soul unless I could be the Ghost Rider! Sounds stupid, but that would be a total trip!
I wouldnt sell my soul to become the devil and if that was the only wish then there would be no way around it at all. Your left with only one decision. If it was a wish for whatever you wanted then that could be different , however I still wouldnt sell my soul.
hmmm that would be cool cause if you sell your soul to the devil and you wish to become the devil in turn your selling your soul to yourself.
So yeah that could work. But why take that chance why would you want to sell your soul anyways?
I dont believe that the devil would even be able to just switch places with you like that
Even if I did believe in the Devil. I do not honestly think I would do it... You would be decieved you would not actually be the Devil himself, you would just be a part of him.
If you believe in the devil. For he can tick. But You are damned to him. If you make a deal.
I don't think I would make a deal with the devil. For one, I don't think he could he be trusted. And for two, I like my soul where it is.
It is in my opinion not possible but hey who am I to say that its not and I do not think that the devil if he or she is real has a soul because he or she was cast out of heaven so how could he or she have a soul to begin with wouldn't it have been taken away in heaven b4 he or she fell
If there is a Devil then he's certainly not going to let someone else replace him, so scratch that, ask for millions of doolars or something like that if you wish to sell your soul to thin air!
No dealings with the devil. I like my soul just where it is.
Even if I did believe no I would not do it.
I think that the feeling of being the devil would all be a mind game..
You may be a part of the devil but never the devil himself.
it depends on how you define devil..
i think you can be a devil whenever you wished. just to something wrong and put yourself and other people into trouble and you people will instantly percieve you as an evil... you dont have to wish for it
yes, it would come true & i dont think there'd be a way around it
I think another way to look at this would be - Why would the devil offer you a wish for your soul? Don't you think he would be better served just tricking you out of it? I don't honestly think that he is out of ways to get them that he would have to resort to a wish of soul barter.
If you took the wish would it be a bargin,or would you be selling yourself short?
Enough with the speculation, I am going to see what my soul can take in on EBAY.
If that were me I would not go for it lol.
He's the Devil, he would surely trick you. And how do you know you would actually be talking to him. I dunno my mind wanders sometimes lol. But there isn't a way around it once you have sacrificed yourself. You couldn't outsmart him after that. And is that worth giving your soul away? There are a lot more deeper more important things than that anyway.
There is a way to get out of it.
You challenge the Devil to a fiddling contest.
If you win you get a fiddle made of gold.
If he wins he gets your soul.
Don't forget to rosin up your bow first.
why would you want to be the devil...I would think one would get annoyed by having to deal with stupid souls all day
I hate to be redundant, but I'm going along with the majority here & saying that if you make a deal with the devil, prepared to get screwed!!!
i would not wish to be the devil he is deceitful in the first place so who is to say it would happen even if he said so
if i had one wish...and it would be granted at the price of my soul.Truthfully..from my heart, I would do it for his sake.
I always believed the devil is a smart and clever being. He's like a lowyer,he can find "breaks-through" everywhere, just a little hole-and he'll make you suffer. You have to make that contract absolutely perfect with no little "holes" in it,or he will take your soul but won't make your wish come true...
There are likely rules to that too just like with any wish thing you ever see you can only have so many wishes and you can't wish for more wishes stuff like that
I beleive in the devil but I dont beleive I could sell my soul but then again since its an hypothesus lets see.
I guess i would sell it for the only one thing that makes me scared. I would sell it so that everyone would love me and no one would ever hate me no matter how imperfect I could be and no matter the mistake I would make. So this I would really think I would sell it fast. Cuase ts my greatest fear, to be hate, and as for managing aroudn the deal well if the devil also loves me no matter what well I wont go to hell or if I go I will be the Queen there lol
he would make you a devil.. as in a demon.. that is assuming that there could be such an arrangement
w/e
i dont know. u would have to first sell ur soul to the devil. then he would trick u in some way shape or form, and youd never really get what u wanted in the first place.
the devil works in mysterious ways, tho something may be instantly gratifying, he always gets what he wants in the long run.
I don't why someone would sell their soul anyways, but if I did, I think I would become part of the devil. The devil is a lot smarter than people give him credit for, so I think that he would realize what someone would be trying to do.
I would sell for one reason and one reason only. If selling my soul ment that my kids would be heathy and happy for the rest of thier lives...I would do it.
I don't think I would want to wish I was the devil. Though if you ask most of me ex's I am the devil already. And if you were dealing with the devil and you wished to be the devil he might make you the ultimate in impossible to loosen jar tops. Now those things are the devil!
I think you would lose your soul just for takeing him up on the deal because that is up to God not the Devil. Then the Devil would not go through with your wish because he is the lord of lies.
good point jim. i also agree with emerald on that too... i like my soul. id like to hang onto it as long as possible.
I'd like to think the smart way would be to develop a portfolio of souls that you've purchased and could therefore use as payment rather than your own. Sort of like investment banking for the afterlife.
Then, rather than wishing oneself the Devil which would naturally put the Archfiend on the defensive and looking for a way to deal from the bottom of the deck, I think it would be more appropriate to simply gain access to his career, perhaps Vice President of Hell with a decent golden parachute plan should he decide to reneg at some point in the future.
All the fun jobs for Hell are probably in middle management anyway.
Haha, Felix.. you ARE smart, I bet you make a great business wheeler dealer.
the only way for it to work would for you to become one with the devil. and to get around this it to not sell your soul.
there is bond to be a catch in any dael with the devil. buyer beware
Always beware when the devil is involved, and always remember "if it sounds too good to be true, it probally is."
Just make your wish so clever that the devil must give your soul back... ;)
Denons are always trying to bargain with you.One just has to outsmart them and get the better end of the deal.however i would not advise this at all.
would I..yes to have one thing, I ruined and can never possess again.Yes I would.
well could always offer him to find a couple of hundred souls to replace mine, never kow might agree..lol
No seriously lets say that if it might been offer to me, then I would consider it if it would be a win for me in the long run. And as I said if everyone loves me then he would also love me to make this a win for me. but lets say I sell it for the most dumb thing then it would be for a piece of choclat mousse cack.
No need to sell anything; if i want something i have in my own way ... grins
well i dunno mostprobs the way around it is to own his soul 2 and be him and control 100% of him a 2 part wish which is a 1 wish thin lol
Well if you do believe in the devil.
he is supreior in evil and very intelligent so if you wished to be the devil you would maybe become a part of him but he would still have control. its a pointless wish really because The devil is obviously going to find away around it, to make sure you get screwed over.
I'm happy being just who I am. I have no wish to come true, and if I did, I would rather be the God that everyone wants to believe in but me.
yeh why would you want to become the devil, does seem a little pointless of a wish
I don't believe in the devil. I am lead to believe my god is loving not tortureous. Sorry that you feel the need to figure this one out.
Since everyone that knows me knows that I AM Satan, I don't have to. (Sorry, inside joke!)
Now, if I weren't Satan...there's nothing that I can't acheive on my own that I need. And there's that little fact that I'm already on my way to becoming a Satanist of the Theistic rather than Symbolic variety and there is no sacrifice in the plans.
yeah that does seem a little pointless to wunt to be the devil
