When I hear of the tales BEHIND the reasons why the 'ghosts' have died.. it always seems to give reason as to why they still 'linger' either of a tragic accident..NOW that has SOME proof in that the bodyis taken SO quickly.. that the 'mind' doesn't KNOW it is DEAD.. therefore 'lingrs' asif it think it is still alive!
another is of a murder.. 'taken' before they were ready and not said goodbyes or have children still on the earthplanes.

I've FELT something like that, When I was in a similar situation, 2 years ago!
my first thought was my nan.. being NEAR BY.. I Put it down to wishing I wasn't by mysef whilst the stuff was being done to me.

Ive never actually seen a ghost. however if someone died in a certian location you can sometimes sense that there spirt or soul still remains there. ive experencied that before, so it maybe possible to see ghosts. you just have to find the right places.

I can never be sure if i have actually seen a ghost before but i walk home over a pitch black field in the middle of nowhere after i have been out and swear that i have seen something........it may be the alcohol messing with me, but thats that =)

Most of my incounters have been with family members who have passed on. The experiences happen typically when there is changes that are occuring.

While mild in that it's a shadow out of the corner of my eye, or a vision of them above me while I rest. These veiwings often leave me with a sense of peace that time and situations are just as they always have been.

It is just removing yourself from the emotion of the moment to see that it is not forever as it can seem with the stress.

Where I used to live as a child, a coachman rides the coach down the lane from an old mansion in Londonderry each and every night. It is said he was going to collect his Master who was executed on the City walls in the 1700's. The story still continues today

I have felt a presence, heard a presence, and yes, I have seen two as well. Once at the Whaley House in San Diego and another time when we lived in a rented house in Del Mar, Calif. I saw the same ghost several times a week for the 2 years we lived there. It watched over me I was only 4 to 6 years old.

I can't be sure whether or not I really saw one. I was really little and I thought I saw an old man sitting at the end of my bed. I described him to my mom and she told me never speak of him again. I found out later from my dad that I had described her father in perfect detail. He'd died about 2 years before I was born. *shrugs* I don't know if I really saw him, but that sure is one hell of a coinkydink.

well to be honest yes Ihave seen a ghost. As it turned out is was my grandfather who was just keeping an eye on me, he doesnt do it anymore though, but it has been a few years since he pased on.

I have seen things, I'm not positive what they were. They may have been tricks of the light, or of my eyes. Sometimes it may have been exhaustion causing me to see weird little things.

I don't like to offer up what I believe is proof for or against the concept of ghosts. It's one of those subjects I enjoy leaving open to debate. I can hear a story and think "Hmm, that is pretty cool/eerie" or "No...it's obvious it wasn't a ghost..."

I have seen a ghost/poltergeist. Or some unkown being. It is an awkward experiance especially when you feel the thing brush by you and see it at the same time.

I have seen some before, sometimes they want to takl to you, sometimes they dont. Thats why they appear and wy they dont, I think anyways.

I've heard mainly footsteps and seen shadows . Once I saw a ghostly type figure but I thought it was just my imagination playing with me .

I've seen things and heard things which the things would mostlikely be linked to spirits, a couple of my friends has had experiences with them as well, one of my friends moved out of her dads apartment because she felt sum1 was pulling pranks on her but she found out a night when she felt a tap on her shoulder and turned around and nothing was there. I told her she should go back and find out wats keeping the spirit from movving on, or deal with it and become friends she thought I was phsycotic; but she went back anyway and found out all the info. on the spirit and after she found out the person was murdered there she was left alone afterwards; But just in case she moved back with her mom, cuz it freaked her out so badly.

I sometimes do see something vague in corner of my eye. And those chills down my spine, there isn't always a breeze.

I've seen a few, I'm beginning to think I attract ghosts! The two most memorable - one night my ex-husband's father was in the middle of my hallway on my way to bed (he died a LONG time ago, and I had never met him before). My grandmother also visited me after she died to let me know that she was okay and finally happy.

I've seen spirts, not sure if they were ghots. But i did know a ghost once. He lived in the dorms of one of my best friends. Great to talk to. We helped him to be able to leave the building.. Then he went on a mission for us (in the building) and never came back. No sign of him what-so-ever... :(

I have seen many, I think they actually follow me or i just happen to live in haunted houses. i dont know. but they have been in every house or apartment i have lived in, including my current one. have only had one try to hurt me, the rest are like guardians i think

Personaly i have never felt a family member I have however had many experiances with the paranormal from simple ghosts and "shadows" to being physically assulted.

In my old garden in Payson, Az there was a child who haunts near there. Then when me, and my friends would stay up there alone. The front door would always be locked, and it slid open, and you could hear sounds in the hallway. Mind you this was a trailer with a few rooms built to it, and the hallway was the main hallway. Anyway, you could here someone walking in the hallway, and go into the bathroom, and turn on the light, and they would go to the bathroom(flushing the toilet, and all). Well come to find out some old couple owned the trailer before my grandparent's bought it, and we found out they had passed in it. I saw the old man go in one night, and thought it was my friend Gregg. Very fun stuff! I miss that place.~NFA

i have a ghost in my house, it is the son of a mad man who lived where our house is two generations ago, his father went insane and thought his son was a demon and shot him 4times in the back with a shotgun. ive seen him on several occasions, i dont think he means any harm, he just moves things and occasionally slams the doors

Yeah, well here's one for you. You see, my friends and I are very interested in ghosts. We've always been around them simply because we know my house and one of their houses are haunted. (You don't believe me come over some time. It's freaky the kind of stuff that happens though we've never seen these apparitions.) Anyways, my friends and I have always attempted to go to haunted area's around our location but I think there is a curse over it. This is because every time we try to go see a ghost or something of the sort something happens to prevent us from doing so.
Examples:
Tried to see the ghost in a town not too far from here in Crosset; had a wreck on the way there.
Tried to spend a night in a mine shaft supposedly haunted; soon as we got there some cops said it would be best to just look around then leave, they watched us until we left.
Went to a haunted house in Hot Springs; Parents called and said we needed to come home just as we left.
Attempted to go to a cemetery supposedly having three ghosts. Parents needed the both of the cars to go to Pine Bluff.

All of this never occurred to me as strange until not too long ago when I was in an in-depth conversation about spirits. I don't know what else to think about this other than bad luck or some kind of curse against me seeing ghosts.

Oh, I forgot to tell you about the one I saw the night before last night. Or at least it was strange. Might not have been a ghost because it looked solid to me. Well, here's the story:
Was driving home after a long day of Cinco de Mayo (May 5) partying at Battle of the Bands. I was on the highway surrounded by woods and it was late so no one else was around, but I took a sip of my coke and as I set it down I looked to my left out of the window and on the white line I saw some kind of creature, looked like a cat, but much bigger, though it was on it's side. I slowed down to see it, then it just vanished. I never took my eyes off of it and I rolled down the window to see it better, then poof, gone. See what you think about that. And by the way, I don't live in the UK so it wasn't the Beast of Bodmon. I live in USA

Not SEEN , but in the building I work in (also nights ) there always seems to be a presence around. The builing is 100 years old and famous and also built on the site of an infamous estblishment. ( go to my journal ....NEWGATE/CCC/OB. )

I have heard of this.. and in fact there is a film called "Entity" that is about as such.. Based on a true story.

I have been unfortunate enough to see them since I was little. I've had really good experiences and some of the worst.

One of the things I'll count as spiritual contact was the morning my grandfather died.
I was asleep, dreaming that my grandfather and I were in the backyard raking leaves in fall. He stopped and I walked up to him. He turned to me and said, "You know, it's gonna be alright sweetheart." And he smiled and chuckled a bit. He pointed to something out in the yard and when I turned back he was gone. I woke up to my grandmother pounding on the door at 5:23 because the hospital had called her...my grandfather had passed.

Then there is "M". When I was living in Georgia, in my ex's mothers house, there was a little boy that tried to scare the hell out of me several times. If you've ever seen Hook, the picture of Peter Pan in the book...thats kind what he looks like, hair and facially anyway. After he ran through me and knocked over the mirror I was looking in, he just started following me around EVERYWHERE I went. I've had him around for about 2 years now. From Georgia, to Wisconsin, to Canada, and back.

The absolute worst, was some thing I had trapped in my bathroom closet. It got out one day, this big black fuzz that reached the ceiling came floating/walking up the stairs one night. It walked past me and down the hall, into each room. It came out and stared around for a bit, finally seeing me on the floor in the family room. I was frozen, couldn't move. It came about 3 inches away from me and disappeared. I never saw it again.

Those are the three memories that I'll never forget, but for me, encounters with the paranormal happen almost daily. It's a curse. lol

Well I have...as daft as it sounds I was haunted and still am by a cat I used to have.....think of hte images of egyption cats, you know how noble they looked well thats what my cat used to look like she was so smart then she got sick and we had to have her put to sleep.....I guess she just didn't want to leave we still hear and see her around sometimes

When I was little I lived across the street from a very large cemetary that was also a stop on the Underground Railroad. I saw many images in the cemetary since my bedroom window looked out on it.

Where I live now I have two spirits in the house but I've never seen them. When the female is around I get overcome with a sickingly sweet perfume and the room drops 10 degrees. When the male is around I usually hear him walking up the steps or he knocks things off of shelves. I'm not talking one or two things, the shelf gets wiped clean of everything on it.

I have not actually seen a ghost or spirit but I have "felt" the presence of what I believe to be one. Dogs are a great indicator of the Super natural. Mine are very sensitive. We visit one of my friends who lives in this huge 150 year old house. It is always chilly no matter how high the heat is turned, and the shadows seem to move. Sometimes Bearz will start barking at nothing. She'll just be facing a corner or laying down and all of the sudden the hair on the back of her neck goes up and she starts barking her head off. I never see anything there but I trust her instincts. Usually I leave. LOL

I work in this old Victorian house...and there are ghosts here...I have heard firniture moving in a room that is locked and no one is in...I've heard things...not crystal clear mind you...but a child's voice...a woman singing...spooky...I usually crank my tunes way loud so I don't hear anything...

I've seen a ghost before it was lost, but it didn't want to be found, as if it wanted to be lost....

not me but my lil sis was way into that stuff and saw one she was at a friends house and they were callin up the spirits or whatever and she all of a sudden started cryin and tryin to scream but she said she sawe a shadow of a man even tho there was noone in there cept for us. and he started chokin her.

she made her friends dad get up and bless the wholle house b 4 she would go any where. and she wont even talk about ghosts now. if sum1 starts up a conversation about them she gets teary eyed and leaves.

there is a man in a long peacoat ( U.S navy style) who will never go into any room while a live person is in it and never appears while my dad is home, but appears anytime throughout the day. it's like he's just watchin', making sure my sisters and I are alright. he doesn't show up much anymore, he used to be around all the time (whithin the specifications I stated earlyer) when my mom was still alive.

i believe in ghosts and have seen more than one in my life but i also believe that there is a lot of residual energy all over and it can be confused with a ghost.

youd think that they must be real.. dont all myths and tales of ghosts and such based on folk lore and such? its not like ppl just decided to sit around and make things up.

ive never seen a ghost myself... but my mother has.. when she was little. her family is originally from thailand and from what she has told me.. because people die unburied.. or their affairs unsettled.. they roam looking for revenge or appeasement

I was sitting in my living room and from there can look into my kitchen and as I was watching tv I noticed movement when I looked into the kitchen the cupboard door opened up and then closed there were no windows open in the house so I know it wasn't that. That is the second time that happened while I was watching the first time a plate at the bottom of the pile was taken out of the cupboard and put down on the counter as I watched and it moved like it was being placed down not fallen.

I see them almost weekly in my home . I live in an old one room school house (just barely big enough for my family) that was built in 1816 . It is quite active . All , but the newest member (My girl) to My house has seen the ghosts . As for her they have been playing with her , but she has not actually seen them . Oh and yes there are more than one .

People seem to think I'm crazy when I talk to myself sometimes my roommate doesnt seem to understand that just because I talk to myself and he doesnt see any thing in the room its the spirit of my uncle who had past from bone cancer making sure that I'm ok by shutting of the lights in my home at times.

When i was younger i use to talk, play, have tea parties, with a young girl who was i ghost called lizzie...she was 4 when she died & i was alil younger when she first started coming to me...she use to make the T.V go on & off...move things, once she scared the shit out of my uncle who was staying with us for afew days...he woke up one day after going for a nap & the room was full of smoke & he said it was hot....then came down stairs screaming saying the house was on fire & grabbed me & my sister & took us to safety...after i dont know how long...my mum & uncle tom went upstair to check it out but there was no sign of smoke anywhere....the ghost had problems with men in the house...any man that came into the house were always scared away by her...be it friends or family...the only male she never had a problem with was my step-brother...she warmed to him rather quickly...but afew years later he died...i think she might have sensed the good in him & knew he was a good person...i dont know...!!

I have had all senses stimilated by ghostly prescence but not at the same time.

I have seen unusual shapes moving, I have heard sounds, felt cold and movement, tasted and smelt odd and unexplained things, and I've seen things moved which I could not explain.

And while in the prescence of others who saw and experienced the same things.

But then again I use to run ghost hunts, so I'd spend hours in haunted houses, which pretty much guarantees expossing you to something! :-)

I've seen ghosts..
my mom when I was younger would tell me storys of the house she had lived in with My father and me after I was born how it was haunted.
How there was a spirit of an older woman living in the house and stayed mostly in the room where I slept (nice to know, right)
she'd say that it always smelled of fresh cut roses, and she'd tell me how she'd lay me down and tuck the covers at my waist and leave the room and come back to check on my and the covers would be at my chin and I'd be on my back sound asleep...

sence then I've seen ghosts in pictures I've taken and been in houses where they've roamed...

lucky though I have never met one that was cruel or mean..never been scratched or hurt by these beings..yet..

I think they are just like us..beings trapted in there own demention at times making enough of a bang that other dementions can see it, feel it...so to them we become there ghosts..

I've seen many. in fact I have since I was two, as far as I can remember. It was a native american girl about 25 yrs old.

I got this dude onmy msn and i asked him what job he would never do and he said "ER" because there are too many ghost there

Ive never really seen a ghost like face to face. Ive seen shadows and sensed someone there but nothing visual. In my old house on the coast..there was this shadow..of like the lower half of a man's torso. It walked in my parent's bedroom door way all the time and freaked me out.

i haven't experienced any type of paranormal. but this summer i'm going out around my state i live in and try to experience some.

i believe i have seen a ghost. I was in the shower one night and the door was locked and I was in there alone and I did see a shadow. There is no explination for it. It was there. I've also had a knife fall off my counter that wasn't even close to the edge.

yes as a matter of fact i myself have indeed.. Alot of members of my family have in my grandmothers house , which has been passed down through the generations .. It was built in the early 1900's and continues to be passed down to family members.. Since my grandmother passed away it has become no longer spiritually visited .. Why I have no clue

I have know people who say they have seen ghost's but you never know what people amagine that they see....

I was a Medium for a paranormal society, In Texas, for 3 years. I have seen some amazing things. It is, however, very hard to hold firm to what I see, if I am the only one seeing it. I am my own worst critic.

My thoughts are that ghosts are unsettled spirits that have not made peace with the fact they are no longer among the living...Now spirits that pay visits to their loved ones are not ghosts.. They have crossed over and are at peace with their death... When I had the chance to meet Allison Dubois at her book signing she spoke about how we have a hard time letting go of our loved ones so they are in limbo and can not cross over because we won't allow them too..She speaks about this in her books... I have lost both my parents.......And I lost a brother to suicide, I have had many visits with my loved ones who have passed on before me...They don't stay long.. Long enough to let me know that they are still around somewhat...

i have seen ghosts as well as felt there presence around me. It is not unusual in my family to be able to do this. sometimes the ghosts are just trying to comunicate with the living because they do not know that the are dead and they need to seek answers to questions that they have. they show them selves to us in hopes that they will have communication with the world of the living and seek comfort for there loved one still here.

I have seen many things, mostly shadows of young children running through my house, or of an older man. I have a feeling that the children are the ones my mother lost after my birth, she had five miscarriages. I am the oldest of four children, so it seems natural that the lost kids would follow me around, which they seem to be doing. There are also instances in my house where we smell things like perfume or ciggartte smoke when there is no one around to have sprayed any cologne or smoked.

Ive seen a few. My most memorable was my great grandfather passing by 3 times in a span of aobut 2 weeks where i worked at the time. He passed in 95 & i saw his ghost in 2005. Another one was a confederate soldier at a battlefield.

I haven't seen a ghost but when my mom was prenate with me she woke up in the middle of the night and saw a beautiful young woman in a flowing pink dress and when she was prenate with my brother she did the same thing in the same room but this time it was a young man that looked like my brothers dad

I noticed that almost everyone who replied with seeing something said it was a Spirit or Ghost. What percicely is the difference between a poltergeist and a ghost and why hasn't anyone seen a poltergeist, only ghosts and spirits?

because a poltergiest is a different type of energy that exerts istself differently. it would rather move stuff or make itself known in other ways than to show itself.

yes, yes i have. i lived in a haunted house for 1 month before i went screaming out in the middle of the night , with just what i had on my back. never went back.

When I was in high school I lived in Beaufort, SC and there was an old fort out in a marsh. It was rumored to be haunted. We went out there one night and indeed see something. It was green in color and sort of just floated around inside this one room we couldn't get in, due to water. If was swamp gas or something of the supernatural I don't know. I do know after we saw it we felt a strange presence in the air.
