I recently posted my first question. It was closed for length. I have had a couple of messages from my fellow ravers about how much they enjoyed the question...

So, I decided to do part II.

What does the Rave mean to you?

Not only is it a place to meet new people but it is also a place to learn new things.

When I first joined the Rave over two years ago it was like a safehouse. It was somewhere where I could learn and be free to express myself for who I really am. I learned so much from other people talking in the forums. Back then ofcourse here were only 70 or so members so it was much more exclusive and we all had closer realtionships. It's still a wonderful place that I like to come to, just much larger and less personal. The Rave is just magnificent and always will be.

I was surprised to see the member count yesterday. Since I have been a member there have been over a 1000 people join.

That is one reason i love the Rave...I am always meeting new people who enrich my life.

The Rave to me is a place where I feel as part of a family being my Coven, it is a chance to meet ppl and get to know their feelings and beliefs. It isnt because I am a vampire or anything its I want to learn

To me it is family, community, friends and strangers, all people who for the most part work together for a common goal and interest...it has also been my salvation in many ways, both with the friends I have here who have supported me through some very bad times, to the comfort of having a house to call my own and look to for help, and having a journal that I have come to treat as not only a way to explain myself, but to be as me as I can be and still entertain the people who read it.

at first it was a place to meet others of like mind, to learn from as well as teach, but then it fell off with the power trips many on here have.

Power Trip? Glass houses and all...

VR is a place were people are different. They believe in a thousand different things. People should learn to agree to disagree and move on.

Cancer set the site up so we can learn from each other, not attack each other.

VR is a site I go to for company, to learn, and to feel a part of something. Even if I don't agree with everyone. :)

It's somwhere for me to chill out & enjoy, I dont get to talk about the things we talk about here with anyone else besides my guy, so it's nice to see other peoples opinions, mostly similar to my own. My friends are preppy & don't know much about this stuff :)

well at first i joined vr on my ex gf's request than she ditched me and i was about to leave it.than came my coven master and few friends who encouraged me so much that i couldnt leave. fron there on it has been a fabulous journey of almost one year.

A place to chill out and relax and talk about what ever you want thats really cool and gothic and dark with out being judged 4 your issues here.

I dunno...I have issues with teeny-bopper jailbait who flaunt themselves in a vain effort to attract men.

But other than that, I think VR is one of, if not the largest database of vampire related information online. I have yet to find a single other site which covers as much of the mythos and culture in such a varied way.

Not to mention the fun!

Oh, the fun! Levelling up, rating, playing games... Who would have known it could be so addicting!?

If I'm to be 100% honest, the Rave is routine. Yup. It's part of my everyday life. I work it in no matter what I'm doing because I dig it so much.

Home, family, a place to meet like minded people.. and lots of fun!

I have two pet peeves : the folks who think cutting is a wonderful way to cope with things and kids acting as adults to have sexual play with adults....(as Stabb mentioned)

It is a great place to come play and learn from others. I have used information that I have learned here in classes and in conversation with others. I have released stress and made new friends. What more could a gal ask for in a web site??

I agree Elemental, but I MUST say that my lawn is in need of mowing and my son could use another girlfriend :)
VR has been a place where I could occupy a lot of down time whenever I'm deployed somewhere...it keeps me from getting into any trouble (damn military towns...full of bars and camo bunnies)....plus I've chatted with a lot of interesting people and learned a lot since first logging on.

I think that this place is wonderful for people to meet others, and to learn based off of their interests. VR has been a muse for me since I joined.

It's a great place to meet others of like mind. Many interesting people from various walks of life. I enjoy my time on here.

The rave actually happens to mean alot to me, ive been on this site for a very long time now and couldnt imagine it not existing.

Its just such a wondrous place, full of like minded people such as myself plus its a place where i can delve into knowledge.

Family, friends, loyalty, and a great place to be every day! I am so thankful for VR. I am also thankful for all my new friends. You guys are GREAT! Most of all, I am thankful for being part of The House of Madadh-Alluidih. We have some wonderful people there and I am glad to be part of it!

I have learned so much on this site. The database is amazing, the closeness within the House I belong to is incredible. I enjoy the forums and have found that I learn the most from those I initially do not necessarity agree with. As long as the "conversation" remains intelligent and does not degrade into an argument etc.

As some have mentiond, those that start profiles as if this were a dating "hook-up" site are annoying, but I think they either adapt to the "real VR" or end up going away.

The Rave to me is a place where I can truly be myself with no fear of prosecution or judgment from the rest of the world. It's become a sort of safe-haven for me, and a place where I can met people of like mind and soul. I honestly don't know what I would do without this site and the wonderful people I've met on it.

Where do I start? The friendships I have made here have enriched my life. The sence of community I feel in my house. Being rewarded with good ratings for being self indulgent with my profile. An opportunity to better my reading and writing skills, which means so much to me because I am somewhat dyslexic and have a very hard time with that. But, thanks to VR I have been improving by leaps and bounds. VR is something that my husband and I can share and be a part of together, but we are also able to make seperate friends and have our own identities. That is very important in a good relationship. I just love it here and am so grateful to be a part of it.

Interesting question. I have been on here almost two years now and I guess this is what it is to me.
It is a place where I can come and be myself and not get criticized and ridiculed. I have meet many interesting and fun people on here as well. I enjoy coming here in my free time and exploring the database as well as the articles written by members. It has broadened the horizon for me and opened up my eyes a little more.

To me the rave is a place to come and meet new people.I love my House and the Members in it.I also met my mate on this site,and never even thought that could happen.I also enjoy playing Hangman,wish I could play 5's.I try to get on everyday,but sometimes life happens,and I do Have one ~smiles~
It helps when things get hard to come here and rate profiles,I learn so much from them.So thats my 2 cents worth.

Right now, its a place where my expertise is valued, somewhere i can help build and evolve and make it the best i can using my abilities, it also mean meeting different people with different views, who help expand your mind and ideas, somewhere that makes your mind tick and makes you think outside the box. The rave gives you something to do, gives you a special place, somewhere you fit in and feel needed.

When i first joind the Rave i thought it was going to be like all the other websites i went to but this website is better than all the rest..I cant give an exact reason but i know its better...

A new family, and a sense of community for like minded people.

I have enjoyed my stay here, and have met so many wonderful people. This site is like my own little piece of hellish heaven! I can not be without it to long. The addiction is really bad, and I don't think they conduct any AA meetings for this particular group. *light bulb*

An escape and a home in one.

The Rave is my home with my home. It's the only place where people accept me without question. The Rave has made me calmer, less insane. Before I joined the Rave, I was depressed and a cutter. After joining and seeing that there are a lot more people like me than I knew, I was able to get my cutting under control and start trying to live my life...not just exist in it. Now when I'm depressed, I have a place where I can go, and always find someone to talk to.

The Rave is my home.

Its a great place to meet like minded people, place to make friends or different cultures, backgrounds from different countries, a place to learn more about my fav things such as, vampires, werewolves, witchcraft, wicca...etc etc...I love this place really!!

I joined so I can meet new people and so I could see how others thought about themselves. I'm glad to see that almost everyone here is very expressive about who they are and are not shy to tell you about it.

VR to me has given me the chance to join groups, meet people and just be myself.

A place to learn. I have to say that my eyes have been greatly opened since I've been here and I've had a chance to be exposed to a lot of new things that I can further explore. I haven't chatted with many people because I'm still painfullly shy, but I've found many interesting people I'd like to learn more about.

It has been a place to make new friends, a place to learn and escape for me when I am frustrated at work.

its been almost a year that ive been on and originally i join cuz a friend told me it was like a "myspace for goths" i learned it was much more than that. almost a year latter im here because of all the great friends ive made and the fact that i love my coven it really is like my family

It is a great place to find and nuture new friendships with people of similar interests in life. With as little bit of a challange thrown in, such as your status and leveling up.

rave is my online community, it is my addiction and it is where i make new friends and learn a lot of things.

A place to reach into resources to help and learn about who i am after all everyday i change by the experiences i gain and it also chages the inside of me also.

I am lucjy enough to be part of a house, where i fell an extended deepness of well being and welcoming.

And just being part of something different and unique....like us all

To me, the rave is a place to hang out, and meet people who believe the same things i do, and may even be like me in other ways. :) also, to me, the rave is a place where I can learn and teach at the same time.

For me, The Rave is very diverse place. I can go from talking to one person who loves to be outdoors and works nights.. To another who has boys in the boyscouts (go BSA... w00t... Well, Venturing is better than boyscouts, but who's asking... XP) To someone elses portfolio who is well versed in HTML....

The rave is a place where there are no barriers- or shouldn't be any- around a person and nothing that should be hidden.

If you only put forth some effort into making yourself out there and known on the rave, you'll have so many connections.. another thing I love about this place. Don't know how to fix your pro or put music on it?? Maybe that girl or guy you just started talking to knows someone who can help...or could even do it themselves...

I love the Rave...And am glad I was introduced to it... I never want to leave...

its kind of an escape for me at times, I enjoy meeting all different types of people and interacting with them. I just enjoy it when there nothing else to do, which is almost always... lol

the rave to me is a place to meet alot of great people. It also is a place where i can ask questions about things where people won't think me crazy. So far everybody i have met here have been awesome and I just have a great love of vampires.

To me the rave is a great place to meet new people with similar interests as me, learn new things,and hopefully meet some lasting friends that I can keep for as long as possible.

The Rave to me is a sanctuary that you can meet and have new friends across the world, and plus you learn how to do a lot of graphic things that you dont know how to do too.. so all in all the Rave is a pretty awsome place to be when your bored, wanting to meet new people or w/e.

The rave is my safe haven where I'm not afraid as much that I'm going to be ridiculed because I'm just as normal here as everyone else. I LOVE IT!

When I came to rave it was just morbid curiosity, Then I made friends which I never do. At least I havent since I was a child, I feel at ease here its comfortable and unusaul as my mother would say she is odd to me tring to be better than anything. Anyway I love this place, I have been to alot of websites and never stayed long to bogus crap never acquired a part of it and definately didnt spemd most of my free time there so I would say rave was my second home so to speak.

The rave has become very special to me. i have made many good friends here and i feel home. like people understand what it is like to stand out from a crowd and people who aren't affraid to stand up for what they believe and stand for.

It has become a creative outlet for me. Learning from others and being part of and online community is awesome!

A place to be with my Kindred.

Its a place where I try to find interesting and good people. Yes, I use these words in the form of MY own opinion.

To me.. VR was originally a place where I hung out with my 3 other REAL life friends on here and mingled.

NOW, I have a GREAT network of intelligent, kind and actually, LOVING, friends on here.

I have seen 1 or 2 ppl on here come across false, and stir shit & are extremely inconsistant, But that doesn't faze me.. I see people for how they ARE, not JUST, what they Say.

Fundamentally, I adore hopping on to profiles and feeling people. I have an amazing affinity with quite a few people on here. "come from intuition?"
Some of them have literally saved my life by reminding me Of vital things that a woman SHOULD have & KNOW.

This site has become my home... Strange I never would have thought that to be possible... a website to be a home for me.. I have so many friends and I can be myself... I have met friends that I will have for a lifetime... People I can't imagine not having ever met...
