The basic understanding is an immortal "vampire" can be more vicious and evil than their mortal counterparts. I don't believe that's true. I think mortal wants and desires are can be just as vicious and evil, but the idea of "Judgment" reigns in acting, where as a "vampire" being immortal can act with impunity. What du you think?
even an immortal will have his day, in this world everything has an end, and the judgement really depends on your beliefs i highly doubt all vampires belive in god and that the judgment day is coming.
so either one can be just as evil.
hhmm
another good question my friend
and i do agree with your take on this one ..
but more and more these days .. that fear of judgement in mortals is less and less evident..
and basically.. primally.. inherently .. i believe mortals to be as ..if not MORE ..violent than vampires
mortals have devised forms of torture more horrible than anyone can imagine. well, anyone else obviously. ever seen the film "Monster Club"? Eramus puts forth a very convincing case for why humans are the greatest monsters of all.
those who keep the taugh of a certain jugement day or a day where all will be put in the balance has the effect of a break on the wrongs and evil doing, it is one thing that is the base to the choice some made, evil or not, vampires or humain it will draw the line.
I dont belive in a judgement day, i belive in reincarnation, so a vampire when it dies becomes something else...
i think that if someone is passionate about something they could overpower anything else. they could find the power that they couldn't before through their faith.
i think vampires are usually more viscious because they hae more faith in their ability to beat their human counterpart. they do not fear death becaue they have elluded it for so long, but humans have a shorter life span and therefore value it more. vampires have already lost their life and live in their death so they do not fear death for they are eternally lost in it.
ya know i havent even thought about that... however i dont fear judgement much at all i beive its a long way away
For every action there is always a consequence. Consider a pebble in a pond. The ripple is small but reaches the entire pond. Immortality is not carte blanche for being montrous in action. It's a weak immortal that hides behind that sort of shield. An animal. Not an immortal.
i believe there will be a final judgement and all will be judged even the un dead
I think the whole concept is rubbish. One cannot generalize a group..any group of people, creatures, whatever, and say they are ALL alike. And because someone is a vampire that person is all evil yadda yadda...One person can be just as evil or just as kind..as they wish to be..its all about choice.
Panthera, the thing about reincarnation is that there is a final judgement, and when you reach that final judgement, all your past lives are judged, not just the one you are currently living.
But I agree with many that "immortals" and "mortals" all have "their day" so to speak. We are all entwined in life, and though "mortals" have their judgement quicker, "immortals" have it eventually.
NocturnisOrchid, I agree with you about not everyone being judged for being a certain being either vampire or human.
I also believe it doesn't matter if your judgement time is near or far. Nor does it matter if one believes in reincarnation.
The belief in reincarnation is consequently a belief in a being turning into something else when they die, but it depends on what kind off past life they lived.. isn't that correct? So, everyone is judged. No exceptions... period.
MisfitChick423, sorry for somewhat repeating what you said lol.
Anyway, yes mortals and "immortals" will have their day in the judgment room, that is if you believe in immortality heh ;) :P
Someone famous once said "We are not put on earth to judge the acts of others" Don't ask me who, I don't remember.
Human, vampire, whatever. Life isn't black and white, it's all gray. There is no difference between anyone.
darkx, I think it goes the same way as humans. Whoever the "higher power" is in this situation should be the only one judging anyone.
So, for humans, it could be God, Jehovah, Alla, whatever.
For immortals, maybe elders?? *shrugs*
I think it's all about ourselves...God as a Judge..no I don't think that supreme being is like that...
I think that things change... mortals die and come back to life again and again until they reach a certain level of perfection... I think the immortals must wait a little bit longer but is almost the same...
I do not think that we are judged when we die, I think that we are reborn each time death over takes us.
There is no limit to the destructive actions some would take to survive . Everyone reacts differently . Large crowds that trample eachother when frightened, is a very scary human reaction . I do not want to be on the bottom of that doggypile ..
Not sure I believe in judgement day, but in reincarnation.
I believe the only real evil is those who act with complete understanding and cause harm.
If a vampire is unaware of the consequences, in my eyes he is less evil then the human who does.
On the other hand, both should be locked up :P
I agree that no one can be called evil unless he/she has complete understanding in what he/she is doing. I think that reincarnation is a much better concept than judgement day, simply because in reincarnation you have the chance to learn what you did wrong and how to fix it, rather than being punished.
Humans can be more evil then vampires it depends on how they act, what acts they commit and why they act the way the do. As far as judgment all will have a final judgement day some will just take longer to get to that day.
I can not answer, because there is no such thing as an immortal vampire.
i beleive we are judged while we are still alive.........
I think there's no judgment, no paradise no hell...
I't's all here... while we are alive... here we need to be worth of coming back...
I think vampires have their own Gods and when their day comes their god will pass judgement on them, depending on what they personally believe! But the day will come!
as an immortal a vampire really wouldn't have to worry about it until the end of the world, and thats to say they beleive in judgement...
Judged by who death? I see it only what i do is in my eyes to be judged by me and not others. Judgment for me is not an issue.
The immortal vampire is believed to be damned for its very existence. This doesn't mean that it acts without judgement but means that judgement has already been passed and there is no way to be redeemed...because of this, yes an immortal vampire could act with impunity because it already knows that it has lost no matter what it's action. Mortals on the other hand are believed to be judged after death for their actions in life (if we're dealing with the same judeo-christian source that damns the vampire) and not for what they are. Mortals must therefore act with knowledge of a score being kept where the vampire no longer needs to worry about a score...it's already lost the game so to speak.
I think it isint if you are mortal or not it is you temper some ppl might be more viscous then others so it all depends on the person not if Mortal or not
i dont think it matters wether immortally or not everyone has their day
one of these posts above is damned....damned confusing :) anyway...I don't believe in immortal vampires, but I do agree that "mortals" are far more viscious and evil than immortal vampires are portrayed in books and film.
Just watch the news.
all things have conscience, some more developed than others.
i think the mortal are much more vicious cause they with to have the power forthem selves but cant so they try to seek it with hate, immortal knows many secrets and im sure, tame the mortals
i think thats part of the curse, vamoires are walking till judgement day.
I believe in Reincarnation, when you die your body is put in the ground and its eaten by worms, your soul or energy is made into a new body, Every one here is saying you will be judged exactly who will be the judge?...
Bother...with I'd thought of the answer FelixFelix gave but I didn't so....
The only thing I can add is, I think its not just imortals ( no I don't believe in them )
who have no fear of judgement.
Believe it or not, I know people, regular ordinary folk who do not fear, because they do their best in life.
As for violence I'll take my chance with a vampire any day over most of the non vamps I know lol
Hehe Thank you...I had figured mine was the confusing one...Good to know someone understood where I was coming from.
I'll agree that many go through life without worrying about judgment in the hereafter. Many of us don't necessarily believe in a hereafter. Some are so sure that their actions are righteous that it doesn't even occur to them that they may be doing evil. I can only hope that whatever god they believe it holds extra contempt for those who commit evil with righteous indignation.
Yes, I remember watching a movie once where a character said she would rather pay more attention to this life than what's going to happen after it.
I believe that Imortals and mortals are =....No one can live forever, there will be an end to day's and I dont that that were all going to live through it all so yes, judgment Must be passed on us all one day...
I post this in reverence to my Lady.
Judgement is for nature alone. All who exist in nature are subject to it. Be mindful of the levels of corruption you take into yourself, and when you lose your way on your path. Be aware of all things, and how you by your existence effect all things, We are of earth, of air, of fire, and of water. We are here to form a balance between the worlds. If the laws of nature are violated as such the degree they have been, then nature will have no choice, but to level the field and start the peace. These are how she operates. These are what we are subject to, and agree with upon the fleshy incarnations granted by taking up life on this plane. We act to serve the balance as a whole. We do not do this, we follow petty human persuits and these things are lost. It is not judgement, it is nature. We tip scales, scales will become balanced by path of least resistance.
Death is the easiest way to set the balance.
i think immortal is evil and....beacuse they are powerful and they can do anything....but mortal can just be the same....
I believe that we are reborn and awaken into a new vampiric life and we go through the awakening process over and over again
I think the concept of Judgement is only for those whose personal philosophies make them feel they are subject to such because of religion. (which is not me) Practical consequences in this life, like jail or someone hitting you back, should be enough of a deterant. If you don't think mortals can be brutal, turn onthe tv news...

How immortal can anything be?
Eventually the sun will blow up and consume the Earth. What will survive that?
Nothing is immortal - nothing ever will be.
any sentient being that does not believe that he will be judged will act as though he were not going to be. This line of thinking, and method of behavior, can be viewed as "evil".
Vampires, just like other people, can choose not to believe that their actions will be judged, but this doesn't necessarily make that true. After all, India wouldn't simply disappear just because I didn't believe it existed, would it?
But I get what you're saying. In the case of things that nobody is truly sure about (i.e. God's wrath), it's much easier for people to say that they don't believe in it, and act accordingly.
Hmm...I still believe that we all must one day be judged
I agree with Belthazar, someday we will all be judged. No matter how much we dont want to be, I dont think you can aviod it.
I do not believe i will be judged, but if you live a good life, then how could someone judge you, who will be your judge? the god you worship? what if you worship an evil god then will you be judged good because you are doing evil?
I'm a big believer of reincarnation and karma and everyone, mortal or immortal will be judged upon their deeds. Sorry guys no one gets a free ride. lol
i dont believe that there will be a judgment day, for the fact that the human would kill every thing far worse then the vampire could ever do. i am not saying some vampire cant but the vampire learned that they should be better then that.
I don't know anyone whi is "immortal" unless you look upon it in the sense that we all are - hence reincarnation.
Since in some sense we all are immortal *ie the soul* and yes I believe in a soul then yes were all due for something to be judged upon so what you give out you get back...The Law of 3 acts here just as well
i think it just depends on the person to how they act and what they do..how strong their urges are and how much self control they have.
One day we will all be judged weather we like it or not. This is my opinion on this.
My belief is polytheistic, though the great spirit, supreme architect, Universal energy, call it what you will, Helps you with guidance through both. Not judging you, but instead gives instruction on the ethereal. For the next encounter could be within the dimension of Earth once more.
With regards
Soulshroude
So- you are sure of the levels of evil in comparison to humans and fictional vampires? Of course... the real beings win and are more evil.
All things are judged in the end. If you have belief in the immortality of vampires ( I don't ), then how worse is the judgement when it finally comes? Or how great the karmic reward for that matter?
There is no judgment day. Humanity will cease to exist slowly and without any greet cataclysm .
I don't think that just because something knows it wont die it is going to be any more vicious then something that knows it can and will die. If something wants to be vicious and act out it is going to wether it will live forever or not
Even if a vampire lived to be 50,000 years old, death still looms over him/her. Just because they cannot die in the ordinary sense, most agree that there are ways to kill a vampire.
The question is can a vampire act differently from an animalistic monster to change his future judgement?
i wouldnt want to be damned either judgment makes more sense to me who would want to be damned forever?
I think the only thing that would make an immortal vampire more vicious is that they really don't have any thing to lose unlike their mortal counterparts
Sorry, to tell you guys. But ahem, there is no judgement day! Whenever you pass on to the next world. The only judgement day you will, is when you judge yourselves based on your own actions. It clearly states in your bible, in the book of Psalms that: "ye are gods". We are the true gods of this Earth! And we are afraid to claim our true birthright. It takes hard work to achieve this state. You won't be the god, but you will be a god, in charge of your own destiny. We have 4 higher senses, that we must strive to get back.
Which is locked in the sub-conscience part of our brain. The 10% which lies dormant. Religion was created to keep us submission and obediant. Even until we pass on, and they still want us to be in submission after we have attain angelic and godlike status. That is not what the most high has in store for us!
That is what man wants, so they can keep pulling the strings. And that's why King James was commissioned 46 scholars to keep us in this spellbound state. Wake up ppl. For the time is now!
mortal def are more vicious. just watch the news. you don't see vampires commiting those heinous acts
We are all accountable for our action..both mortal and immortal..Karma applies to us all.
there is no difference -- evil is evil. It's the criteria of how you measure it that has to be fathomed
Well perhaps when a Vampire will never die, it fears no reprimand for the things it has done.
a mortal vampire has the fear of death working with them that holds them back at doing the most evil sinister things... while a immortal vamp has no fear of dying whats so ever, thedont have a care in the world...
i would say that mortals with all the greed and deseption mortals are more evil and dangerous. Imortal vampire or most of them settle and agree with wat they are and keep life simple they have etirnity to get what they want they have all of the time.
Each being's beliefs determine their fate, possibly. There's probably no judgment day. No being alive or dead can pass judgment on another rightfully.
i think that an immortal and a mortal can both be as vicious and evil as eachother but the difference is only one of them thinks about the reprecussions of there actions.an immortal probably doesnt think about their actions as they see themselves as never having to be judged ever again so they dont care.
I believe it's all how you use your strengths as to how powerful you are
I think the reason they say that is by a lot of Myths Vampires have no souls and so they have no remorse. So Humans could be just as evil but it would take a mental illness of not caring at all
i dont think mortality has anything to do with it. I think both immortals and mortals have the same ideals (maybe one has much more experience and has learned many more life lessons than the other) but in the long run, our minds control us. our decisions will be based on an individual basis, whether mortal or not. So i think that either way we are equally as evil if and when we want to be.
mortal or immortal there is no good and no evil till the individual pushes the actions toward one or the other
I think that being imortal wouldn't release you from judgement because we also judge our selfs and we can be much harder personally then other may judge us. Think about all the mistakes you have made and will make if you human in your short life imagin having to live forever punishing you for the wrongs you have done and the people you have loved and lost.
For all the " civility "mankind proclaims, it is, in my opinion, the most savage being to walk this earth. Animals kill , usually for two reasons, either to feed themselves, or to protect them selves. They are not cruel in their killing. They do not taunt or tease their prey.
Humans on the other hand, often kill for perverse reasons. devising methods to be as cruel and painful as possible. Just to watch someone, or something suffer, so they can feel superior.
I think that each will be judged in their own time and place. No one else can decide the when and wherefores of it.
well my opion is that vampires are mythalogical creaters that only excist in the minds that allow it to excist but it is nice to revolve your life once in awhile in a phantsy world as long as you dont let it get out of control
no one is released from judgment... do unto others as you wish done unto you...
each has their day...for every action is a reaction... no matter how immortal one may be...
I wouldn't say Vampires are more violent, but perhaps they feel the emotions to a more intense degree.
Humans know, whether they accept it or not, that they will be judged. Whenever you commit a "sinful" act, your conscience will always tweak at the back of your mind.
I beleive that even if you were immortal, that same voice, or tug would remain.
Any being on this earth will be judged. Some just have to wait longer.
I believe fear and prejudice have created the evil ideal of a immortal vampire. I believe that personality is a very strong gift that cannot be easily destroyed. So I feel that vampires can be honest and true, have integrity and be genuinely good people if that is who they chose to be.
I say they're both equally vicious. Immortal or not.. they are still people I think.
Real Vampires are not immortal. They just age very slowly.
i really couldnt tell ya but as far as the judgement thingy, well i dont think any one can be released grom judgement, just my opinion..
I don't particularly believe in "immortal vampires," however, I believe that the soul is immortal, and I believe in reincarnation, and also karma.
With everyone, there is good and evil. Just because there is one evil vampire, doesn't mean that they all are, just as there are evil and good humans.
I don't think there will be a mass "judgement day," but I do believe in karma, which is judgement of sorts....
Personally I believe mortals are just as vicious, if more vicious than Vampires.
Vampires kill to eat, & yes, they play with their food, but at the end of the day it's for survival.
Humans kill for many reasons, but one of them isn't to eat
humans kill for many different reason and mostly for a malice reason where as animals do it for food and protection.
Mortal wants and desires are the most vicious and evil thing ever. People do anything for what they want. The seven deadly sins were not committed by immortals first but mortals that wished to be immortals. Mortals are ruthless.
we are all just animals heading 2 the same place of judgment mortal or immortal it is all free choice wot we do so it would need 2 b an individual basis
