Does any one find they gain energy from a certain place?
I am not sure weather it is just exitment but i when ever i go to Brighton feel these rushes of pure energy and just feel supreamly content when i am there any one else get this or any thing similar?
I feel very similar when I go over the Golden Gate Bridge. I think it's because it's a symbol of being home. I just feel content and peaceful once i get there and for some time afterwards.
Yes when i return to my home state Montana I have alot more energy than here.
Under the water while scuba diving...that is the best place for me.
i agree my energy level is much stronger and i have more energy when im home even if im gone for one nite. theres no plcae like home.
one thing i find intresting is I do not infact live in Brighton...Just all my close friends are there
i feel this each time i visit my hometown i feel alive again like i can do anything
There is a place in Sussex that is said to have Lay Lines crossing right thru it.. I feel really tingly when I am there..
a bit like your hair standing up on end when speakers are on and the base is booming out.
funny feeling but nice.
I feel most relaxed sitting in a strip club and watching the dancers!
acctually its the opisite for me i have like a spiritual drain where im at
I always feel more empowered in places I haven't been... the adrenaline tends to get to me.
I also think the energy we get from some places may have something to do with the experiences/people we've subconsciously associated with that place. So, if you're more energized in a certain place, chances are something good happened there, or something not bad, or also just reminds you subconsciously or consciously of someone you're fond of.
As far as specific places go, there's a park I like with a lot of good and bad memories that always gets plenty of succesful energies flowing.
I visited Sedona, AZ where it is said that it is a power center but I wasn't nearly as impressed as in Zion, AZ.....that place has amazing rock formations and I spent hours in awe.
that's an interesting idea, i never thought of it...
but i feel a deep sense of 'home' when i'm at the shore of the pacific
maybe it has to do with my birth being in a small house near the shore in San Diego....
it's not any body of water (although i like many)
i only get that feeling when it's the pacific
maybe i have native water ;]
Everytime I go back to Nevada to visit my friends, I always get a sense of relaxation and no stress. I get the same feeling when I go back home to visit my mum in Arizona.
I always felt the most energy when sitting in the dining room at my borrowed family's old house- their new house doesn't have the same energy though
For me, it was my great-grandma's house. She's gone now, and the house is sold, but we always had such a connection. I remember I always felt so happy, like a little kid at Christmas or Easter, when I was there, especially in a certain room on the ground floor. Right after she had to go to a nursing home, my family used to visit her house a lot to make sure it was kept nice and everything was alright. I would always just sit in the chair I used to have conversations with her in, and just let the vibes flow through me.
I also remember right after she passed, when we had to go through her things and clean up the house and everything, I would just sit there for hours. I could feel her there, and it gave me a sense of peace, and energy, and that was the most comforting thing of all for me after she was gone.
There are many places for me where it happens i am sensitive to certain powers that are around. When i am on the reservations i feel my soul light, the mountains also do this to me. The one place where i feel it the most is when i am home and take a walk to the cematery where i would sleep so many days of my youth away.
I always feel better and more energized near bodies of water. It is weird because I am supposedly associated with the Air element.
I feel more energized whenever I'm in a big city. I love being in the city!!
I feel energy everywhere i go, not in one certain place...
Yes I do, in New Orleans. And I didn't even know I would find it here, and never knew I would even love it here- until I tagged along with friends on a roadtrip.
Not everyone finds it in the same place.
Louisiana as a whole has a other worldly comfort for me as well :)
i did enjoy the energy in New Orleans too
I would love to have the chance to go to New Orleans one of these days... unfortunately I have know idea when that will be. But for me, I find energy with there is a full moon, I guess that would be considered a place... or maybe better yet a place and time? heh. I also find energy late at night. It is mostly "mind" energy though. My mind just starts flowing with creativity late at night. Sometimes so much so that I have a very hard time falling asleep.
i understand that Vampiress.. if i don't force myself to go to sleep before a certain time... forget it i'm up all night ;]
i hear tell the most creative work is done about 4 in the morning.
although i have nothing to back that up with...
it feels right as far as i'm concerned ;]
I feel very empowered in my home but that is probably because my entire home is basicly one giant ritual room. My livingroom floor has a charcoal pentacle that is about 10 feet around underneath the carpet so most people dont ever realize their standing in a ritual chamber. most of my house is either marked in protective barriers of runes on everydoorway or window or charcoal or salt or talismans or other craft.
YES I feel very energized in my home.
lol indeed! My creativity spawns slightly earlier than that...approximately around 1:30am is when it starts and if I do not force myself to go to bed (which is usually hard either way) I end up staying up until about 4:30 or 5am lol
hehehe about 1 is when it starts for me.. i have to get myself to bed before then if i have any hope of getting some rest :)
i'm a definite night owl and i have this sense of 'waking up' when it gets dark... i stay in a state of sleepiness all day it seems
on another note of native soils... do you think you can feel that somewhere is a native soil even if you haven't been there? i have always had this 'feeling' about England although i've never had a chance to travel there..
it just feels like a comfort zone for me it's strange since i have agoraphobia and nowhere i haven't been many times feels comfortable
I have heard of places that have that feeling when u r there it just gives u heaps of energy like stone henge there r a few which i cant recall of the top of my head. I believe there is a difference between these places and ur home town/state. When ur away from home its the joy of being back in ur own little world that gives u the lift (energy) were as places like Stone Henge its a power from the place itself
certain places make me feel stronger or more alive. usally i get this way in very old historical buildings.
i usually feel more energy when i visit the caves in kentucky where i used to play
yea when ever I visit my beloved state of kY I get a felling like everything will be alright :)
I get it when ever I step onto a Hockey rink, I get so pumped up and full of energy.
When I am at soil near running water whether it be stream or ocean doesnt matter.
yes societies in south america have chosen some of the best places for natural energy in the world to build there cities..
i find mine is in the mts
i guess the clear clean fresh air up there helps a lot
yes whenever I go into the redwoods I feel totally energized it is a great feeling being one with nature and all.
Yes, New Orleans has such a strong presence- to me it would be less likely for people to feel 'nothing' here.
I agree with you about New Orleans there is and always has been a very strong presence of spirituality there.
You can gain the same amount of energy anywhere, anytime. You wanna find my homie Cody Deaton and read the Tao Te Ching more.
when I'm barefoot on the beach....OooOOooo...I'm getting a warm fuzzy feeling just thinking about it :)
NightStalker67 I agree with the mountains energy. I definitely get an energy from being in the mountains. I think for me it is because you are so high up and it is just beautiful. Also, I get energy from being at the beach, but usually I get the most energy from the beach at night when there are less people there and it is dark and serene. *loves the feeling of bare feet in the sand* :D
Stab666 - I agree with what you said. There are certain places for me psychologically that give me more presence because of past recollections and experiences of particular places. So, even though there may be a low actual energy to the soil, it does not matter.
Psychological and physical presence bears much weight on how and why people experience rising energy levels in different places of the world.
I find that when I'm around cedar trees, especially a large grove of very old ones I am truely at peace there. I had an ex that for all the time I was with him teased me, for one day as we were driving the north shore of mn I spotted a grove of cedars off the side of the highway and made him stop because I just wanted to hug them and walk amonst them for a bit to renew my soul!
I usually get energy everywhere, and their is not a particular place that gives me more than any other place...
It may sound weird, but I feel that way whenever I go to St. Louis, MO. Like I'm meant to be there. And the first time I ever visited it felt like I'd been there many, many times before.
yeah, i feel that way when i'm in new orleans. even though i've only lived there very breifly as a kid. as think it maybe past life regression intruding on the present. wow, lots of big word, some MAY EVEN be spelled right.
I travel alot....but i find when im near the ocean im happiest and completely myself. I love it. :)
if i may explain in a sort of relative fashion perhaps this will help,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,like a witch and cat r sometimes familiars with each other ,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,many places can offer a charging up or boosting of energies,,,,,,,,,,,,think about it,,we do it all the time,,,,,,,,,,,if u r thirsty doesnt a cold drink energize u, a cool shower kewls u,,,,its ALL elemental,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,balance is all u seek u have found it,,,,,,,,,,,,,walk with it, enjoy it,,,,,bask in it, savor it,,,,,,,,,,,,,,but dont forget to honor it as well,,,,,,,,,,,,,,be well dear one
I too seem to draw more energy in big cities.. especially when i go back to my home city..
When I am on a mountain or a cliff I feel an energy surge and a peacefulness.
I live on gulf coast where it is flat hot and humid so I guess I just enjoy the change when I can.
I dont get it personally
but maybe certian people get it from places where they have a past there, or a memory of some kind. Differnt places will affect people differntly.
Maybe it is just excitement or you could be feeling the energy of that place rushing through you.
I am so glad I am not the only one who feels this!*lol* I am attending Uni. in the states and I had someone from home, Scotland, send me some soil from there. When I got it, my whole room lit up I think.Just such a rush of energy and...home.Everything I love and my family..right there..was amazing.
i know exactly what u mean... its kind of like anxiety but not in that bad way. it just has u very uppity and excited. i have had this feeling about certain places. i went to the state park which was more like a forest! i felt so at peace yet excited. the energy there had me feeling like a kid in an amusement park . i wanted to just sit and enjoy the beautful scenery but i was very jittery. it wasnt a bad feeling at all. it was very enticing. like i just had to walk around and experience it all.
to me its mostly place where there is lots of paranormal energy and psychic activity, the more there is the better, it have a sens of strong emotions add to it. My mom's place, and a woud near by
Certain places I feel most energized is when I'm near a river or stream. Theres a place that I go to during the school year thats right near a river, and I always have lots of energy. :P
Forests really energise me. In one of my previous performances this year, we went to find inspiration by doing focusing and meditational excercises in a forest, and it was so uplifting.
:::smirks::: I might agree Lord Fangor
I guess as I think about when I go to the south I feel alive and at the beach.
We all feel safer, happier, more secure, and "at home" when we're... well... "at home" or in other environs where warm memories reside or strong positive emotions are invoked. This has nothing to do with any inherent nature or "energy" of the place and everything to do with what we subjectively think and feel about that place.
As for the "native soil" aspect of vampire lore, this was a complete fabrication created solely by Bram Stoker for his book, "Dracula." There has never been any vampire folklore that had the vampire requiring that he "sleep" on native soil.
Just tryin' to keep a bit of sanity and reason in the thread. ;)
i felt that way in a place we used to go camping at
i also feel it when i go to the beach
Going around a turnpike near my home, I get this strange magnetic pull (against the pull of gravity). It's only in that one particular curve of on-ramp-road and I have felt it ever since I first started driving by there. I don't know why, but the feeling is disconcerting at best.
When im back in NC on the cape fear river i feel at home. I am at peace and i can feel everything around me. The energy of the water and air flowing around me.
i was born and grew up in b.c and was moved to kalamazoo, but whenever im back in that town, i feel more myself, its more familiar and like home. and in my room when im gone for a while, but not the house or the pple in it.
Brighton? Perhaps you're just in fear for your safety in that 'lovely town'. Or perhaps you feel the connection to the vast number of riots and rumbles between Teds, Scooter Mods, Skins, Punks and Rockabillies...I've heard that the history of rumbles in Brighton goes back well past the 60's to even earlier groups.
There are definately places that lend themselves to being energy providers. I find it much easier to draw energy from outdoor locations much easier than indoors.
I feel my energy level is stronger when i'm near the Sea. I always feel drawn to the Sea, Oceans etc..
Being able to gather energy elementally and being a Scorpio, I'm always much calmer around bodies of water. But I feel best around the forest - my preferred body of water, therefore is something like a creek or a river...something traveling through a dense forest!
I have always been drawn to the trees. I could get lost in them for hours.
odd...I was raised in Georgia, and my son lives in Florida, but due to certain personal problems, I know longer feel comfortable or happy in my home state, and going to Florida (except for being able to see my son) is just plain draining on EVERY level for me- I have found happiness in BC where I live now, and being here has given me a healthier look and a more comfortable feeling in my mind and body.
Not that I can recall I find negative engery in a lot of place but positive never.
well this might sound strange but when im in the city of Manhattan NY walking around i feel more energized with vibrance so i can relate
I feel energized more when i am at a Vamp Club in Ny or when I am at a cemetery to me it is the undead energy I get and I just use it to be more alive
Most certainly. If you would like to divulge into the topic further, I suggest you read some books by Carlos Casteneda. (not sure how to spell his last name) He talks about finding a sacred spot in which you can do your dreaming, meditation, and things of this nature. He is an excellent author, and you can find his books used on Ebay!
Well I have much more energy going to old places like some of our museums here or the old graveyard next door to me. I actually lose energy coming home.
Energy from walking the grounds ur ansesters did, or walking on the grounds that one of past lives were walking on at the exact same time as u were a certain date that something happend yes the surge can be quite strong indeed.
I think everyone has a place where they can go to recharge and relax. For me its any beach! The mixture of earth and water is very soothing and relaxing for me.
I have been to the old Indian cliff dwellings by Sante Fe, New Mexico. When I climbed up into one where they had actually lived, it gave me a strange, peaceful feeling. Maybe because of the simplicity of their lives back then. It was a place that was very hard for me to leave.
well i not sure but when i head home and arrive I feel more happy doesnt matter where i live at the time
when you have a feeling of peace and safety in a place, i believe that thats your heart and soul telling you that its where you should be. a haven or home for instance.
i feel that way when i go to the smoky mountains...it feels like home and am so glad to get back there....i think alot of it has to do with being native american indian (cherokee) i feel like i belong there....
i love my home sweet home. i feel refreshed when i return to my house.
I agree with Stab on the psycological part. I have not lived in Texas (were I grew up) for almost 14 years. I lived in Florida for 12 and now have been in Tennessee for the last year and a half. Nothing compares to the energy and feeling I get when traveling anywere and I get to go back into Texas. Part of it is the fact that in my heart its home. Part of it is that for those born and raised in that wonderful state, there are only 2 types of people. Texans and those who wished they were. Its a state pride kind of thing. Its not that I don't feel at home here in Tn. In fact quite the opposite, I love our new home here. It is something which I can not quite put into words. Threw experiance though I can definatly empathize with those who feel revitalized when they return to what they call "home."
i feel it when i am out side in the mounitans away from everything, or at night on the beach
i get that everywhere i go with my parents . i get that extra bit of energy when i am around them no matter where we are.
Re : Brighton > I'm told there is a huge sexual energy there ( must visit soon ) lol
I had a friend of mine send me some soil from Scotland.Just to have my home about me and to feel it's energy.Tis a peaceful feeling it gives me.
Yes you can get energy from any living thing and you can work your abilties to start to feel why they are there and what happened
i get an extreme inner peace when i visit De Soto St Falls in AL. and it will last for several days following. my mother's and bro's ashes were scattered there. also a lot of memories tied to that place. plus, it's just an absolutely gorgeous work of nature.
there is a pond in MT Hope cemetery here in Rochester NY, and that gives me a stong energy bost.
Lots of places can be nexus points for energies within the planet. We all know abotu the famous ones like Stonehenge, and most of us know a lesser-known spot like Serpent Mound in southern Ohio. I myself find I have an affinity for rivers...moving water. I like to think of it like this: Water is the lifeblood of the Earth, and as every vamp knows "the blood is the life." Or maybe I just find the movement of the water soothing...
