The Ultimate Vampire Resource and Directory

During this past week I have come to realized that some members are wishing to express themselves in either willing to teach or willing to learn some of the topics that are being discuss in the Main General forum. In the past I have closed threads that wanted to offer workshops in Wicca. Since Vampire Rave is focused on Vampires I didn’t want it to become some Wicca site. I instructed members to keep these workshops within the Houses and Covens where they belonged. I have since reconsidered my decision.

The policies have been relaxed in the Sandbox for some time now. One line and even one word post replies are OK and acceptable to make. Since all Sandbox threads are being closed RIA anyway there is no concern for these threads. They are there for your pleasure and to enjoy. I see no reason why members cannot make use of this VR section for their learning, understanding or research in the Metaphysical, Occult and other topics that are discussed in the Main General forum.

If any member wants to start a workshop in any topic or subject please feel free to do so in the Sandbox. This includes and not limited to Vamp, Wicca, Occult, Metaphysical, Code, HTML, etc. Religious topics are now permitted but must not flame. Politics is a no-no. Follow all VR policy and you will do fine. All threads will still be monitored as usual.

I do not want to see these part 1- infinity threads in the Main General section to gather information for future projects. I understand but, they are too hard to follow and go off topic too quickly. Hence, this thread.

Vampire Rave is a community and I have seen some amazing things from members. We have some very talented people here and there is no reason why we cannot learn from each other. I look forward to seeing some interesting workshops and classes.

Excellent thought! I had wanted some instruction on the use of healing crystals and now perhaps I may find someone to help teach this to me as we did not have any practicioners of this art in my coven. Thanks fo the opportunity.

Hopefully it may cut down on some of the repetitious behaviors aside from the infinity threads you discussed.

I think this is a great idea Billy. I agree, we do have a lot of talented people here on the website and it would be nice if they could have their own threads in which they could instruct others and help them out when needed.

A thread in the sandbox would also enable everyone on the site to be able to view others ideas and not just in any House or Coven.

That seems a very sensible idea, people are always going to post it anyway so making somewhere accessible for those kinds of things saves a lot of hassles.

This is fantastic, thank you Billy! I live in an area where none of those topics are taught, of if they are, they are kept very very quiet! So I am looking forward to learning about them here.

I fully agree that there are some brilliant people on VR and learning about various subjects is one of the main reasons why i joined this site as i've had a chance to learn so much about various subjects that i would have otherwise never had a clue about. Off to the sandbox i go:))

Great idea indeed! Those who are intrested will always have a way to access the knowlage that way. Sounds good to me.

Thank you Billy!! I seriously hope this cuts down the stupid threads people seem to be opening there lately. I've almost stopped posting in the sandbox completely they're so rediculous.

good point, I have noticed in the last few months that there where more and more pagan questions ask in the forum. thanks for posting this thread billy as always very informative and to the point.

Thank you for the reconsideration on this issue as there are many excellent VR members here that have great teachings to offer others. This, if done right, may even enhance VR in ways not yet known to us.

Billy is a great teacher. I was in his Thread writing 101workshops in Luna learned much from the man listen to him.

Many people have much to share but don't see to realize many of the subjects have already been done.

Billy told me to check and see if a thread was already formed in the search engine found at the bottom of all the different sections.

This is only as brilliant as members use the idea. I am glad this is getting a warm welcomed to the Sandbox. I also should mention that these workshops may also include personal experience that one may wish to share. Music, writing classes. How to and what not to do in opening a business, etc. Anything that may benefit other members. It is beneficial to teach. For that is when we also learn.

Thats fine if thats the way you wan it but you are limiting peoples interest as well as their thrust for knowledge. But then you closed my threads before because I did not use the word you wanted me to use to describe the same thing..

there are places if one seeks them out, where one can get all the learning and training they want and need.

i saw the first post about this and i was interested but not completely understanding.

What type of workshops would ppl be interested in? What topics would you all like to learn about?

well.. me myself i love the healing properties of stones and minerals.. i would LOVE to hear how they are used is in rituals and the like

I would naturally be interested in those as well! Perhaps even additional learning on herbology and the medicinal powers of natural elements.

i've never really dabbled in the herbs so i would be greatly interested in that... i don't know a thing about them
and i'd love to learn

this is really cool this way people can still learn things of their choice and better understand them nice work :)

the forum is so uptight and critical because posts can increase status a little bit. i feel since this is the issue it has lost good content

I like the idea of learning new things from different people in all aspects of life,it is very interesting to see what other people think,if they think like me,or unlike me everyone could learn from one another and become better people for it

I am ABSOLUTELY interested.. I want to understand wiccan, but there is SO much, it would be great to have some guidance...

I too would love to learn about healing herbs and crystals as i am a sufferer of very bad migraines and the conventional medication just doesn't work for me.

Without restictions for the members providing the workshops, I am concerned for the members that may not be ready for the content of some workshops. Caution should lead all of those who teach.

I don't think vr is in any danger of becoming some wiccan site...its fun to go off on tangents or to gather more information on certian matters. if one has info. why not share? plus vr. and wiccan knowlege canmix and integrate...

The idea of learning something is very nice. The fact is... what could we learn? People with skills that can share something with us should post here telling about what they can offer.

I think this is a great idea. There are numerous people here with a wealth of knowledge, and this is a wonderful way for them to share it.

It can get pretty heated with politic debates. Plus it's something that has to do with the VR TOS I think.

Hopefully this will help cut back some of the crap in the general forum, and make the good threads easier to find.

i dont think so...
it states "Threads about Vampire Rave or of a vampire, gothic, occult, or paranormal nature." if people want to talk about a 50 year old religion called wicca then who are we to say no.

i must say some of the vampire topics are done to death... if i read one more repeated 1000 times vampire topic me head will explode for sure.

whos to say wiccan magic cant make a vampire... coz being bitten seems imposible.

This is a wonderful idea...The Sandbox it is.

as long as people use common sense for these "workshops" and people who want to attend also excercise thier own brand of common sense then i say go for it. Why should vr bel limited in scope to "vampires" most people here and pagen and as such should welcome the idea of shareing thier traditions and beliefs with others.

I have been looking through the sandbox, and so far it doesn't look like anyone has started a class for anything, or any kind of info-sharing.
I may be wrong. I was just really interested to see what the first topic would be. If there is such a class going, could someone let me know? Thanks.

This creates a side resource for relative or cross over research as well for writers.

Well I think it is awesome that you're opening up this section for things like that, I think a lot of people can benefit from material learned from those topics and I think it will give an opportunity for more fun and interesting threads.
