i have wondered, what jobs are there out there that have to do with the suprnatural,, and what are there uses,, and what kind of traning would you have to do,, i hope this is posted in the right area

Ghost hunting.....I even took a class about it at the community college.

i read tarro cards and had to do a lot of studying to be able to read the cards,, i also make charms and some hexs and to do those i had to study very hard,, and spoke to other people in the trade who went to special school and courses to learn what they did

Tarot card reading, working in a store that sells herbs, candles, etc, working in a place that has haunted tours, ghost hunting,

All I can think of is ghost hunting. Usually they will take a class on it, and even some counseling courses, if I'm not mistaken.

Ghost hunters, tarot readers, psychics , those that own stores. I have several friends that own shops and teach different types of classes.

I suppose being a priest or nun could qualify as a supernatural job, if you're one of those lucky types that get to be involved in exorcisms. Not bloody likely, though.

As my location is New Orleans, I see lots of Tarot readers on Jackson Square, but they are vagrants and wanderers, who act as though they are gypsy decent. This is a poor way to earn a living as their donations consist of $5 dollars on up.

If you make jewerly, it is much the same thing. Plenty of those here as well.

Clergy...good point. I suppose you could say they are dealing with the supernatural.

Psychic readers and mediums are all I can think of. I'm sure somewhere the government has a branch for paranormal research.

In the 70’s the US government was “hiring” people for psychic studies and where running remote viewing projects but all those have closed down now.

Only jobs I can think of are paranormal investigators, fortune tellers that read tarot and or crystal gaze, metaphysical shop owners/clerks and psychics that help the police and or fbi solve cases. I think the only requirement is your skill and knowledge of metaphysics.

Dragonologist: one who studeis dragon's, there is a actual science out there for this.

I m hospice nurse. I attend many deaths and am surrounded by people who are very aware of how close their death is. It is the culmination of their spiritual journey. People get very into the supernatural at times like these...as death approaches they often have what we call near death awarenesses. Seeing and talking to those long gone from this dimension. I love my job.

I know a guy who told me he helps detectives solve cases using his psycic gifts. Think of finding lost children. Solving murder cases. Finding clues and evidence. Like the show "the Medium."

some of the local magical herb shops, or an ywher you can get your magical were's, ghost hunting, if posses some psychic talent.. you can work with the law in helping solve cases, missing persons ect...

I have met in the Apuseni Mountains here in Romania, in a small village, an old man who was, together with his woman a "strigoi" hunter. He was telling me that he is contacted by the relatives of the one thought to be Strigoi and after that he is going to the cemetery, dig up the grave, cut the head and took the heart out from the dead body, is burning it and after that he's giving the ashes to the relatives to be thrown in the wind or on a river.

Jobs having to do with the supernatural are just that, jobs.

Some come naturally (my tarot card reading,) and others take some precise training (Reiki works with energy, which some find to be supernatural, as with, quantum touch).

Others are more on the scientific field-- is there life after death? Can we get messages from the grave, and are there lifeforms around that are not quite 'alive' nor 'dead' in the usual sense of things.

Messages from space are the same way-- are there others listening in?

I think jobs like that should be given more funding, personally, but there are a LOT of fakes out there.

How about psychics that work for police departments? I know that's becoming increasingly popular.

You could start you own cult group or religion, the latter of which tends to bring in lot of income.

Paranormal researcher, Demonligist, Phycic, Herbal medical...that sorrt of things all I can think of right now.

A forensic, with a specialty in a field of serial killer ghosts and tracking them.

I think that we can agree that Ghost Hunting would be one. How about a camerman or sound man for ghost hunters.

Well as AD said they government was seeking out "mediums" from about the time of the 2nd world war far into the 70's and even early 80's.
They have preety much stopped seaching at least with the open public.

There is always work for "faith" healers, Alchemist, herbalists as well as many other related work fields.

I would love to find a field in my craft where i could make a living doing what I love most. I scense things, and the dead, read cards, and have mediated a few times.

Ghost hunter, performing exorcist, and protection agaist all manner of malevonent beings. Training would depent of your own personal beliefs and/or religion.

the only carrers i can imagine for the supernatural would be either as a person with a degree is parapsychology or in the case bigfoot or the such xenobiology, or something in contemporary theology but that leads more towards and athetic life style.

We really have come up with a lot of different ways for those that are of the supernatural. Some readers make a lot of money as with psychics.

Well those who are Masters at the House of Dalriada have teaching positions. There are many other trades one can benefit from with gifts such as writing, teaching, criminal investigations, economics, exorcisms and the like and so on. As far as training goes it all depends on what you wanna do.

I have met paranormal investigators that have gone through university to study the paranormal. They study anything from ghosts, to ufo, so big foot!

I know of many differing jobs in the field of paranormal abilities as previously stated. From the tarot readers to Necromancers.

As had been stated there are many jobs in the supernatural field. How interesting would it be to have one. Talk about wanting to go to work every day!

I think any ability could be adapted to enhance job performance especially service orrintated jobs.

You can learn Reiki. I certify peeps in that, so they can be a Reiki Master and call people grasshopper. :P

I'm studying the craft at the moment, when I have finished I will be able to marry and christen people legally which is I can't wait to do.

meditation: to reach into ones innerself i feel is a step into the supernatural so that has my vote and of course all know ghost hunters is big right now on cable tv

personally, i have been around others who make money (or try to) off their supernatural abilities. magicians are one of them.. the show magicians are stage crafters who create something surreal for entertainment and some of them get paid a lot to do it.

some people own metaphysical shops and host psychics or meditation classes. i don't think i could make enough money off it , so i choose the rat race instead.

Special effects artist are manipulators of vision sort of illusionist.I believe illusionist to be Para Normal in some respects.

Depends on your faith. My beliefs would never allow me to accept anything of monetary value for a reading. Tarot, psychometric, or any type of reading would not be something that can be bought, only traded. To council someone would be different, but require quite a bit of training. Honestly, unless you have some fabulous connections to producers interested in psychic mediums, the only option is retail.

i got a couple friends who work for a demonologist

Tarot readings...here they bring in 25.00 dollars a read. Crystal healing, Rekki healing, Universal healing, the uses of healing with oils, ghost hunting...classes on beginng meditation, astrology. I know many of these may not be supernatural...but as for a job...many pay well and you would be helping others.

The only jobs I could think of were: ghost hunting, tarot card readinng, psychics, excorcism, haunted ghost tours, owning a shop (I saw a lot of these in New Orleans) ...

It really depends on what u classify as supernatural....But in my opinion ghost hunting (i have read there is a special course on that), palm and card reading and also if u have some phychic visions u could work as a phychic. Unfortunatly there arnt many people that bilive in the supernatural so i guess it would be hard to find proper courses for these jobs....

Well there are also historians who study ancient religions which goes into spell casting..envoking and such, im not so sure it if its considered as supernatural but sometimes they would try to perform spells to see if it works just to recreate the religion as a study.. its not so much a supernatural job but it is a job that does tap into the supernatural

Seriously though what about councelling services or psychiatry? There are people out there who could benefit from the help of people who have supernatural abilities....

Why not try making products and selling them. That will get you close without having to go to school for it. LIke your charms.

What about water devining, could that be considered as supernatural?

You could try help the police with stuff. I would love to have job where I could use my gifts.

I'd say as water divination is about the persons abilities to connect with the energies of the planet, then this wouldn't be classed as supernatural as such but it would definately be a way to earn a living if you could prove your skills were accurate!

Ghost hunting is really the only thing I could think of....I didnt know much about this or have thought of it often so this was very interesting for me to read.

These are not all super natural but they are jobs that you may find interesting and you sound as tho you want to help people.

I know of 1 person who is just known as a Watcher. They just watch the supernatural and write about it in hopes that we can learn.

Mediums and psychic detectives. If your lucky and get a positive reputation some law enforcement agencies will higher you also private investigators and individuals will also employ you.

The US government, chiefly the White House has had at lest one known psychic medium on staff for various presidencies and is rumored to have always had one. Interestingly the conservative Christian Bush family (Senior and Junior Presidents) have been reported to use them the most.

Other jobs, Ghost Hunters especially if you can get your own show on the history or Discovery channels.

Tarot readings of course and if you look native or can prove you have native Indian heritage you can get jobs as a Spirit Medium/Teacher at some Reservations.

Russia and possibly other governments have / had research groups and employed people as psychic mediums mainly in the Intelligence field. Some corporations hire individuals to function as mediums and have done testing on Remote Viewing again primarily as an Intelligence gathering function.

If you want to make a couple of quick bucks as an author. Most people can hobble together a psychic or paranormal related book and just use already available information and rehash it in different or more personal manner. People will buy it and you’ll make money.

There are many different jobs that could be associated with the paranormal. Natural medicines, demonologists, historians on various cultures, religions, etc.

If you are looking at simple things like tarot card readings - most people who charge for that are bogus.

As for classes - my coven offers classes at our local B Dalton Book store on herbs, healings, crystals etc...

There are also colleges who offer courses on different magickal aspects.

I guess if we concider ourselves that have intuition or good instinct and apply it where needed we could conciderer ourselves as having supernatural power but w/out pay that could be a job say for protecting our loved ones

Many jobs have supernatural elements associated with it. As many have stated, clergy, ufo hunters, mediums, ghost hunters, tarot cards, magicians, psychics, researchers, theology teachers and others in the educational field, historians who embrace super natural elements such as how the pyramids were created, herbalists, and many more.


Many times apprenticeship is the only way to learn but there are classes on herbs, theology, and there might be local reading groups centered around the paranormal that you can join into.

There are several jobs that come to mind with this topic: ghost hunter, paranormal psychologist, psychic, aura reader, etc. The first way I suggest to learn about what people in these fields do is to read books on the topic you're interested in. Then try to find anyone who actually works in those fields - either online or by going to a local metaphysical store.

I use quotes because those are the people some refer to for EVERYDAY things, to tell them everything they should do.
