What are some protection symbols you believe in, like, and use?
I believe crosses and pentagrams are great protection against evils and negativities.

I like a four leaf clover and hunt for one when I'm looking for some good luck.

The eye of Ra...It protects agenst the Evil eye...Also a pentical is good to have becuase it is all around good thing...

Yep, the pentegram. Or pentacle. I don't know if anything really would protect you. Even more effective is the white ball of light you put around yourself to protect yourself.

I agree to surround yourself in the white light. I do wear a pentagram and every week I put frankincense oil around it clockwise to help be protected.

I made my own,it is a cross between gaelic and the theban alphabet,and I wear it in a pouch or close to me

Im also wearing a druid sign around my neck and perform banishing rituals before I sleep as I have vivid dreams and astral a lot, sometimes I find too much and find mundane things like work.. eating secondary to my quest.

A Mirror is actully good, if you know how to use it, It can send back any bad "Mojo" so to speak along with trapping or sommoning a soul...but it would have to be black for something like that...

I would think I would want to know what I need the protection from before I started to wear items for such.

I believe symbols are to comfort rather than protect.

Maybe it's just because I've personally never had a symbol of anything do something to prove itself of certain importance or affected things around it in any way.

I use dreamcatchers in my home , I use buckeys also I keep them in my purse LOl as well as other things LOl

I believe that any symbol can protect you if you simply put faith into it. Its not the symbol itself that has power to do this or that, but the person who gives it power.

I have to agree with autumngallows. I used to wear a cross but have since discarded my Christian beliefs and no longer wear one.

Even if you don't believe in a certain faith, can't its simple also protect you?

I use a pentacle, but I also see skeleton keys as something protective. I invision things being "locked out".

Personally I feel that if my faith isn't in it its not going to work for me.

I am a firm believer that its faith that protects you for the most part. Not so much the symbol, but the symbol is a way to direct that faith.

I favor the pentagram personally. I believe in different protection rituals for protection from evil spirits and negative actions.

mirrors are good for reflecting evil intent and also salt around your bed can protect you from evil trying to harm you wel you sleep and my BF uses a dream cather at our bed to warn off evil spirits.

Even though I don't have faith I still wear a cross, too. Because my grandmother and her mum were Christians, and I believe they also protect me through it.

It is. Especially since the cross I wear used to belong to both of them.

Of course it may be just me, but I think society relies to much on trinkets to give them that "comfort zone" of protection. My question remains...Protection from what, what seems to be out to harm me as an individual?

I don't use protection symbols, on a personal spiritual level I dont feel I need them.

I belive symbols only make some feel comfortable and not really have a true power. It is just a symbol.

Dont use anything personally,but I know some who use talismans of the planets or certain devils or Gods and such.

I have a cross tattooed on my back and I wear a very unique arrow head from someone very dear to me. They are where I draw my strength from as well as protection.

I like to wear a small pendant of a Egyptian piramid with a third eye engravings on each sides of the piramid made in gold, for my phisical and mental protection trough my life on Earth, + for the spiritual guidance, not to mentione that I consider my pendant a good luck bringer. I love that pendant. Do I need to mentione how it as well looks modern and stylish. I always wear it on a black string.

WK,the pentacle or pentagram was originally found in caves and represented the path of planets.Later,to mark directions in Sumerian texts.The history and meaning is long and varied..there is a thread about it still open.

Honestly, any thing that you believe in has power. You can draw a circle with a dot in side of it and say that the circle represents a force field for whats in side, but its still just a circle with a dot in the middle.

My point is that symbols are just that symbols for your faith. They can be any thing you give them the power...

Well said MistressBloodDiamonds. The power is in the believer. The human mind is really powerful and we only know a tiny bit of it. If you believe hard enough, a manky old boot is also good protection (it also keeps your foot dry)

I have no protection talismans etc, however, I have some wormwood hanging over my door to keep away unwelcomed beings.

Alot of people use a symbol of their faith as a protection symbol. For some it works and for others it does not.

I love the Hamsa. Its a Hebrew symbol for good luck. Looks like this:



The blue gem in the middle is to ward off evil.

I may not be Hebrew, or Jewish, but I still love the symbol because it had kept me safe when I've needed it.

I have two one is the tattoo that I have done on my back of an ankh...the other is a necklace that I wear again...that is very much tied to someone very dear to me...

I haven't heard of a four leaf clover being a protection symbol before....well thats a new one! :) If you can call the Christian Cross a protection symbol, then I wear it :)

I've heard of crosses, shields (pretty obvious) as being protection symbols. I believe in the protection of a cross and a shield. They both hold some validity in my personal life.

There are plenty of well known protection symbols however I believe any shape or item of personal significance to a person could be a protection symbol.

People are drawn to certain shapes, colors, etc they prefer. Why do you think Sires have a mark, it's a symbol to represent themselves and a symbol of protection to their coven/house members.

We use a pentagram with crystals. We are starting to use more crystals and charge them for different purposes and using them.

Every religious belief system has some kind of protection symbols. it all comes down to having faith in the item that you are using

Mistressblood... has a good point. Anything you hold dear can be used as a symbol or protection if you believe in it. Look at what IceRayne did, she basically created a symbol and put her own beliefs in it.

I do not wear any protective devices. But I do keep a Coyote Skull with Dream catchers in his eyes to watch over my home. I also use a WolfAngle Rune when I feel there might be a particular force that is working against me.

I feel dream catchers do more harm then good. When I put them up in my bedroom I started getting crazy evil dreams, not like those 'Freddy versus Jason' ones, but like 'In the mouth of Madness' ones. Then I took them down and my dreams went back to normal.....Dunno I guess it depends on the person

I am sorry that has been you experiance. Where did you get the dreamcatchers from? And who made them? I wove the ones in my Coyote Skull myself. And have never had a dream I was not ment to.

I got them from a Reservation in my area. Maybe I am interpreting my dreams wrong or blaming the wrong thing, dunno it just was a weird coincidence.

I dont have any protection symbols on me but i do have a symbol someone gave me that represents our love.. So if everyone here can agree that the symbol you have on you only has meaning because you believe it to be so?

I use many different things though - witche's bottles, crystals, herbs, banishings. There are so many to choose from - you can't pick just one!

I believe any item with a personal significance to a person could be a protection symbol. some people use pentagram, triquatra, runes and even croses. You just have to find something you feel drawn to. Even in the pagan faith a vile of Holy Water is used for protection. I for one have a celitc knotwork of protection my mom gave me and a bunch of other mic things that mean a lot to me in a little bag in my purse. So as long as you have faith in the item it will keep you as safe as it can.

protection symbols are representing protection but are they really protecting you is the question to me its just a symbol i had a protection stone to ward off bad spirits and the situation got worse so i threw it out and everything went away so i think protection is your belife in your faith if your faith is strong then you will surley be protected but God thats the only thing that will protect you from anything

I am part Christian, yes, part. Crosses are said to ward off evil. I don't know if they do, but I had one for a long time and it did nothing against the spirits in my home. I woke up with cuts all the time.

i am part native, so i use dream catchers more, but i also have a pentagram ring that actually protects me from any evil in the world, just dont ask how please and thank, i will have a hard time explaining, lol

I have never gotten into pentegrams or of the such, never had a chance to educate myself with the craft. But I use St. Christopher and other various patrion saint medals when I have the need. But of late I don't feel the energies of protection, so I get the feeling they are useless.

I have this ankh I sometimes wear on a silver chain for protection. I have to say it works for me.

yeah i have to admit i do use my cross neclace as my protection but thats just a symbol of my faith if your faith is strong then you will be protected

I wear a pentagram with a skull and red stones around the outside as protection.I also have a necklace that is a sword with like a bat thing as protection also.At night when my husband and I are sleeping I have two dream catchers in the room to protect us. As for the mirro thing I don't think of it as a protection but more of a way for my evil "twin" to get to me and take over my body, my huband calls it a doppleganger.

If anyone had played any othe the zelda games you will know what the tri-force is. I use that symbol for protection. Don't ask me why, I'm just wierd like that.

well if you ask me a symbol is worth nothing if you have no faith in it in the first place.
i have a locket with a photo of my dead cousin inside that she gave to me and i feel safe wearing that because i have faith in it.

it depends on how I ascertained it - like, I am not catholic by any means but a good friend of mine who is actually not religious either, well she gave me a pendant of St. Agatha, patron saint of nurses, a marytr who had her breast sliced off, so also a breast cancer patron... since I'm a nurse I think it's nice to have as a reminder of the friend who gave it to me, not that it offers me any protection.

I have three things that look after me, the promise ring Matt got me, the rat symbol on my neck, and the idk what it is with the pentagram on it.

I personally use a Pentagram and a crystral for personal protection, or an ankh if I feel more vulnerable than usual.

I have a stuffed 'monster' that was given to me by the one who taught me the ways of the path.. she put crystals inside him for my protection and put her energy into him and told me to keep him in my car and with me always - which he has for the past 10 years before she passed away - he's kept me safe and I feel good having him around......

In other words, protection can be from anything you put the energy into to help you.
