Well im Aquarius and my sign fits me along with my elemental air sign .Those born under the sign of Aquarius not only march to a different drummer, they make up new music as they go along. Aquarius

I am having a horoscope done. I believe the houses tells more of yourself, then just a sign.

I was just having this conversation with someone today.
They are a Libra and fit none of the traits or personality descriptions. On the other hand I am a Sagittarius and fit the profile almost to the Tee.

I am childlike, and overly optimistic, perhaps to a dangerous degree. I am jovial and fun loving but my temper can flare up out of know where and dissipate just as quickly, like most fire signs. My boyfriend has learned that my bark is worse than my bite. I can be very blunt and honest, to the point of hurting someone's feelings. Usually by accident. I strive to maintain my integrity and when that is questioned i will defend it to my core. I can be very indecisive about the big things in life and can take me a while to settle down ( I am till wondering about this one).
However, I am not superficial. And I am not overly breezy about life. I can be flighty but I know life isn't solely just fun and games.

That's pretty much it. Oh, and I do wear my heart on my sleeve.

Hm...I myself am an Aquarian, and I do have to admit...I do hold a certain abtstruse pride for.

For many many years (since childhood infact) I have observed many different interpretations of my sign.
I have noted subtle deviations, but mostly they state common characteristics.

Now, as to the origins of the almost archetypal descriptions I have no idea. But concerning myself personally, can I say for sure that my reading of these characteristics from a very early age has not influenced me in any way?
Sure I can see a great deal in common between myself and the description, but also how much is interpretation?

For the most part, I would have to say that my sign fits my personality. I'm a Leo, and as such, I 'm a very creative person. I love to create art, be it written word or image. I'm extremely generous, almost to a fault. If I have the means, I will go out of my way to help a person out. And, as a Leo's ruling planet is the Sun, the very center of our solar system, I tend to find that I like to be in the lime light, the center of attention a lot of the time. I am also extremely loyal to those I hold close to me.

However, I am not very outgoing. I am a very introverted person, and for a Leo, that's not a common thing. Leo's are the life of the party, so to speak, outgoing and energetic. They shine as bright as the star that rules them. That could never be me. I'm also not a natural born leader, I don't do well when in charge. I tend to stick back and work in the background, doing what I can, but I can never tolerate to be the leader.

I'm an Aquarian with a Leo moon and a Cancer rising...so, I guess I'm kinda' messed up...LOL!

Anyway, most of the basic stuff about Aquarius is true: friendly yet sometimes aloof; chatty, wierd, artistic, blah blah blah.

Oh - and in Chinese astrology, I'm a Rat...oh joy.

I am sure and have seen some answer predictably on this topic, the same as they answer about anything occult here. Your sun sign is general and it takes everything on your particular Natal Chart to really divine who the person is. It is not chiseled in stone. It is a guideline that helps some because you can see where your strengths and weaknesses may be. You are the manufacturer of your life, these are only tendencies but you cannot look just to the Sun sign. It matters how many signs you have in earth, fire, air and water. It matters what houses signs are placed in. It matters if they are retrograde. Each and every number matters, hours, minutes and seconds. It is extermely detailed and mathematical. People do this with programs but when I learned I did it by hand with books and logarithm charts. You have to understand you can't depend that your sun sign will actually be a lot like you. Sometimes they are similar but most are not. Especially if you read horoscopes out of newspapers. They are set at 12 noon and are general and can apply to many people or not at all.

I am Aries, that is my sun sign but I have Mars, Mercury and Venus in Pieces. This dampens down the affects of Aries because it is a fire sign but it's ruler, Mars is in a water sign. People don't recognize my fire side until they make me mad :) I have Gemini rising and I can be really scattered at times but mostly I am just interested in just about everything except most sports and war. I don't like watching war movies. Anyway my Venus is the emotional/love part and it is water oriented and not fire and so is Mercury which would be my career side. I actually could have more Piscean traits than someone with a sun in Pisces. You have to look at everything on a chart to really get a good picture and if an adult you need to look at a Progression of the Natal. If your sun sign is the same element as your personal planets (Mars, Mercury and Venus) you might be pretty much like the general characteristics for the sun sign but you know some people are born near the cut off dates and they actually vary each year so you may look at that thinking say you were a Libra for instances and actually be the sign before or it might be say the 19th of the month and you are actually in the next sign. It really isn't cookie cutter. You have to have a chart created to really know. The cusp is by degrees and not dates. It is within three degress of another sign to be on the cusp.

Numerology is really nice and there is more than one type just as in astrology. I have taken classes a long time ago in Numerology and when you really get into it, it is very technical as well.

It is confusing as all get out IMO. Sure some of the things written apply but others are so far from the mark of who I am as an individual that they might as well be my doppleganger somwhere.

I did read some of the explainations and agree that there are many contributing factors that would change a reading dramatically, so the short of it is that too many variables affect the outcome of a news paper reading or generic characteristics based foundational read.
