i have recently been using a crystal to store energy that i have to spare. i am currently using a amethyst crystal store energy and was wondering if anyone else uses a crystal to store energy and what kind of crystal do you use?

i collect the energy in my body and then when i can i put the energy in the crystal and seal the energy in the crystal until i need it.
usually the crystal i use to hold energy rather well but they tend lose a small amount of energy so they have to be constantly watched and recharged.

I've been working with crystals and using amethyst for healing but I've never heard of energy storage in all the books I've read..
How do you go about that?

Honestly, I don't think its possible. Storing energy in your body, on the other hand, is possible scientifically.

I use a stress stone to get rid of stress I forgot what the stones called but its for gettin rid of negative energy in the body. :)

Well anything can be used to store energy, but clear quartz crystal is supposed to hold it especially well.

How would it be possible for a rock to store energy? Wouldn't said energy flow out of it as energy does from everything else?

Maybe I'm mistaken, but I think that you can't storage energy in a crystal for the same way you can't store water in a cardboard box, it will just leak out.

I have read alot of books on wicca . Im there belife some stones and minerals hold energy and some release it more easily than others ( reserch geomancy , stone magic) . 2007skittles... That link doesn't really help on the subject as storing energy; it's just a healing guide by a goldsmith. I am not saying for the record, that this is a bad article, but it would have to be modified to the stand point of a vampire to make a little more sense it the case of energy storage. Plus it's no doubt that Crystals can help with Chakra, Chi, or a metaphysical life force, (which ever your name for it) but I don't think it can hold the Chakra, Chi, or metaphysical for very long without leakage.

I'm not sure if I've heard of energy storage within a stone or crystal. But I have read that each stone has a special purpose and meaning. Maybe some could be more easily attracted to that energy in order to store it? Of course there would be leakage though, they said so themselves that the stone has to be recharged...
It's only an idea, I don't really have an answer to your question. Maybe you could do more research to find your answer.

Quartz and amethyst are excellent crystals for energy, but I would not nessessarily store energy as they provide their own means of energy. As crystals of any kind come from the earth, this energy may be used for your own well being, or the purposes of healing others.

Keeping a clear mind is another excellent balance when dealing with crystal energy. As you use the crystals, your mind becomes sharper.

Some can use crystals to store their personal energies, this would be considered residual transfer, thus a new owner of older crystals tend to see the previous owner when dealing with empathic concentration.

Crystals may be re-energized at any time be it with ones own energies, or the energies from the earth.

well on comment about store water in cardboard box.. actually ya can store water .. it will leak but it also absorbs a small percentage.. so in fact it is stored till it completely drys out..so in a way i think a stone can store energy.. it may not be type people think but again think of this stones and crystals can store heat and cold right so what if heat in stone in a pounch and wore around next gives off heat that people believe gives them energy.. ok rumbling on im done ..lol

I use several different stones depending on what I need at the time, I use tiger eye , onyx,obsideian,and a bloodstone for storage and quartz to help boost any energy that is needed to be drawn upon

I have studied geomancy to a high degree. I once found out that stones hold energies and also attract energies, so I decided to research into the subject.

I truly believe (due to experience) that certain types of gemstone can hold and store certain types of energy. However, you cannot just put any energy into any stone.

In line with the various types of energy that each stone attracts naturally, one can only ever hope to sucessfully store energy of a type conversant with the stone you are using.

For example: Amethyst is excellent for healing and mediatation. Therefore astral/meditative energies and healing energies are best suited to amethyst. However, if you tried to store the same types of energy into a different stone, like heamatite, the energy would not stay and would leak out very quickly.

There is, however, one stone that is so versatile that you can store almost any energy type in it. And it's not something as obvious as quartz. Quartz is good for most energies, but protective energies and healing energies are not kept well in quartz.

The most versatile stone is actually onyx.

I have been trawling the internet for sites to corroborate my perspective in this matter, however, without leaving a like that would download a file. I cannot guide you.

I personally have several rather large pieces of clear quartz that I use to store energy. I purchased a rose quartz pendant for my wife for the same purpose.

I prefer the quartz because, for me, it is easier to work with and use.

I never thought about it that way, that a stone could actually have it's own energy, but the more I think about it the more it holds true. I still don't think a stone can store energy though. Anyways, for the part about the cardboard box holding water, the water isn't in the cardboard box, it's either leaked or absorbed, sorry for the misconception.

I've been able to infuse various crystals with magic energy, but I've never been able to store my own energies in one.

Someone tried to teach me how to do it, but I must not have been a very good student.

Still don't believe you can store energy in a stone. Even after reading everything that was said, but I do believe that some stones, have their own energy which is pretty cool.

I had a friend mail me a crystal to keep in my home that he stored his energy into, and I truly felt it there. I don't know how to do it myself, but I think it may be possible, for those strong enough in mind and body

I have found that I can store some of my personal psychic energy in inanimate objects, primarily items used in ritual and divination. I do this by simply holding the object and visualizing energy moving from my sacral chakra through my arms and hands into the object. I do this several times over the course of a week. The energy is there to personalize and attune me to the for example: deck, athame, or crystal ball used in readings or ritual.

I think a quartze crytal is the most powerful.

For chakra work I suggest a Melody Stone. As it is made of seven crystals and each is attuned to a different chakra.

I use other means of storing energy, think necaklaces I wear for long periods and don't take off or rings. I take them off to allow them to rest and not take in as much energy from me..I have found I have lost many of jewelry from not doing this.

I find that if I try hard enough I can store energy in anything around me. I can charge the air around me with my energy by letting it out into the air, but it disspates very quickly. I can store energy into my rings, certain types of energy holding more readily for certain rings.

Mostly I charge the things I use in rituals, but before you try charging anything, if you are new to it, you should learn how to cleanse an item of any left over energy.

For instance, the silver ring my mother gave me was charged with a lot of negative energy from the previous owner. So before I ever put it on I cleansed it of all energy then charged it with a collage of my own to personalize it for me. To this day I have yet to take it off for more then 5 minutes.

Just like you can charge electrical energy into things, some hold a charge better like batteries and metal. Others barely hold a charge, like rubber. You can charge your own energies into stones, certain energies of chorse flowing more easily into different stones.

Actually, Kntradiction, you can pick up any rock off the street and dump energy into it, but it probably won't hold as much as a crystal or a stone that has an affinity for the tpe of energy you're putting into it. And all stones and crystals do release energy, but the ones that have an affinity for, say, healing energy, will release less of the healing energy they're charged with, so the healing energy will be stored in them longer.

My son has picked up stones from the flowerbeds and from the driveway and brought them to me at different times, and each one has more energy than average. And it was usually when I needed an energy boost or a new stone for a particular purpose that he brought me one.

Wiccanpothead, you mentioned electrical energy storage. Electrical energy can be measured, can you measure the storage of psychic energy.

If you can measure it, how? Can you tell psychically by touching it, can you sense it. If you touch it will it discharge into you?

I have heard of people storing energy in statues and rubbing them everynight when they get home . Then at a later date pouring boiling water over them to relese the energy . I have never tried this for myself but they say it works

In my view, It can be done. But there is only so long it can hold. But I would say the trick is to use the energy the jem stone already has and use that to improve your ability.

The difference is one you are storing your for later while the other you are drawing on something that is already within the stone. That is why some of the stones and jems have an affinity for one type of energy. Though I also tend to believe that jems and stone will work different from person to person as well. Though most fall into using the same ones in any case (you very well might find one that works different for you then what it is commonly used for, for some reason).

I have used and stored energy in quartz crystals, amathyst, turquise, onyx, coral, and amber. Each one has its own natural energy, and and also has an affinity for being charged for a particular purpose. I believe that quartz crystals oscillate at various frequencies, and that they the rose quartz variety is best for healing energy.

I think, if you want to store your energy in a crystal, you need to consider what you want to do with that energy to select a crystal to store it in.

Also, keep a close watch on who handles your crystals. If a crystal with your energy gets into the hands of an enemy or such like, they could use your own energy against you.

Why not? I guess I just don't see how someone can transfer energy from their body and hold it in an inanimate object. It would seem to me that the energy would just leak out of the object. I mean, what would keep it there?

I have heard of programming a crystal. I program the crystal with the Positive emotional vibration , or frequency I am focusing on. Then when I use it, it will help attune me to the vibration again more easily. This is my own idea from what i have learned.

I have not used crystal to store my own energy. I used to use them to keep elemental energies. I used more than one kind of crystal. Not always crystal. Some times I would use other stones.

it depends on what you are and how sensitive you are to energy. I can hold energy in my head as well as in my spine and arms. I can atack mentaly. so it is possible.

I like quartz crystals. Pretty. You can charge a crystal in the sunlight as well and in moonlight.

I have used quartz, rose quartz and amethyst to enhance and assist in energy transfer and other uses, but not to store. Energy was always around with just being outside with the earth fire water air to draw from and not just people. An interesting thought to attempt to actually store energy.

How do you seal the energy in the crystal?

I used to have a lovely pointy chunk of clear crystal quartz to 'store' various things in. I would cleanse it, bathe it in moonlight, point it in different directions. But that was a long time ago, not sure i have it anymore.
These days I have a huge chunk of rose quartz which I store only loving energy in.

But yeah stones and crystals don't generally hold energy for a long time, they normally have to be cleansed, 'refilled' and then used for whatever purpose.

I my self always wear this ring, with a rather big piece of jade in it, and I like to store the moon energie in it, by constantly recharging the stone and the ring metal on the moon energies. somehow it gives me a feeling of health, and freshness to my body.

I love crystals. I have clear crystals for general energy, rose quartz for love,sex, and passion, tourmaline(green) for money,etc. Yes, crystals are a wonderfull gift from the universe.

i used to use crystals, but because i can pull energy from all things around me, i don't need to store energy like those not quite skilled in that.

Is there a way to measure the energy stored in a crystal or other device?

From what I understand about crystals this seems very possible and there are all different types of them and scientists are doing a lot of studies with them.

My thing would be why would you need to if you are an energy feeder you should be able to get what you need at the time you need it. Shrugs.

If you need to store energy inside crystals why not just take in the energy instead?

One way of absorbing energy from the abient environment is deep breathing. You see this done in a simple manner in Tai Chi and many martial arts. Breath in slowly an deeply, focused on the feeling of the energy come into youself.

I've always used meditation when I needed to deal with energy.

You are right, deep breathing in this sense is really a form of meditation.

Instead of storing energy why dont you give it to others?

I use crystals all the time to store energy. I mostly use clear crystals or quartz. It all depends on the kind of energy I am storing in that certain stones. There are many stones you can use and out energies into!

I know of people that have used crystals to store their energy for later use but I myself have never done this.

I have used crystals but later on I found that metals like gold, silver, and steel work better as in being able to carry more.

From personal experience, I found out that stones do have the capability to store energy. My friend had a stone that she stored her energy in, and she showed me the stone, when I took it in my hand, I felt the energy that the rock had and I absorbed a little bit and I was able to use that energy later on.

I store my extra energy in my body! I have always done this and when I needed I use it but thats where I keep it!

I can't store my surplus energy in anything external. It's part of a rare mental/spiritual condition I have.

i usually use clear quartz. the clear quartz is a stone that is a neutral stone and it picks up the negativity that is around you. i usually have a hunk next to my computer because i usually get upset there.

I don't have any crystals but if I did I would only use then for healing not to store them.

For me it is basically like charging the crystals, I use them for meditation ... when i need the extra boost to actually get a good solid meditation going.

You should look into the different crystals for different types of energy. Different types of crystals do different things and crystals are very personal one type may work better for you. You should buy your own when you go to the store you will know which one is meant for you. You just have to go with your gut.
