Deja vu ( or Premonition if you like),
So how many of you have encountered true Deja vu? I do all the time. For me I will dream some thing, it maybe even six months to a year before it happens.. I will wake up and it will make no sense, most times because its about people I don't know or things that have nothing to do with my life. So I write them off as just odd dreams only to have them come to life later and have that "WOW" moment. I also dream in color and have been told that that is very rare?? I was just wanting to know if any one else has things like this happen to them on an on going basis.. This has been going on since I was a small child. Hell I even had dreams about my current boyfriend a year before we ever even met and it really made no sense to me who this person was and why they were in my house, now I know. I dream in full on movie mode, weather a true to come event, past event or just a dream of non-sense, they play out like high budget Hollywood films in high HD detail and color.

I have had dreams and daydreams (premonitions if you like) where I see something and then it happens later. It freaked me out at first and then I just started to accept it. The one and only time that I ever feared the ability was when I saw that my ex's aunt died. A few months later it happened with me in the room. That was the worst vision I've ever had. I hope no one else has a vision like this.

yeah things like that happen to me all the time, one that stands out is something that happened to me last week... I had a really bad gut feeling about something amd it happened 2 hours later....
I also dream in colour

i've had premonitions before. most of them are very small. like, knowing when little things are about to happen. none of them have been very tragic. but they happen.

i mostly see bad things happendng , i ahte to get premonitions like that but i cant stop them

I get premonitions all the the time. My most recent spout of de ja vu was this past Nov. I lived quite a few moments I had already been in months before in my dreams. It was great. They were good moments instead of bad. :)

i have a few premonitions but the one that really stands out is the one where i was talking to a mate of mine in america, i went to bed that night and 'dreamed' that her husband was involved in a very bad car crash and that he wouldn't survive, couple days later when i was chatting to her again she told me that her hubby was involved in a bad car accident, but he was on a life support machine, but i knew he wasn't going to make it, but i couldn't tell my friend that, so a few days later she tells me that he died.
i felt so awful and guilty about it,

Wei believe Deja Vu is just when you eperience this moment once or twice. When you experience it all the time even just in your dreams it is a form of psychicness.

I have the feeling I've done this before actually, thats weird ! anyway I have dejavu all the time.

I've had my share of deja vu. every time i get a deja vu i usually curse and swear. i've had premotions ranging from the next day to 9 months ahead.

it happened few times i dreamt about things happening in the days after, not only bad things *fortunately*

i had these visions all the time back in the past but i only got them when i was sleeping though it wouldnt happen until in the near future.

i dreampt of my first job at a video rental store and bang it happen then 2 bfs i dated it happen though i couldnt see their faces but their bodies i matched up to.

i been having this one dream for a long while now i think its a vision of my future to come about the relationship with one of my exs from the past though it was a good dream just hope it was a vision from the past willing to come true one day. :)

i havent had anymore visions like that as something bad happen to me in 00' caused me to close my 3rd eye shutting down the visions i had in my sleep but one day it will be open again i hope.

That happens to me all the time I have had premonitions as long as I can remember and I have also always dreamed in colour I have been told that it is not possible that you can only dream in black and white but I have only seen my dreams in colour so who knows

I have and it can be a bit frightning but at the same timne wonderfull because you kinda know what to expect

I also dream in color. Sometimes the colors are just as important as the rest of the content. One dream I had, I saw a lot of purple around. I didn't know why, but I few months later, I ran into an old friend at a campus whose school colors included purple. There were other clues in there as well, but just icing on the cake. Often, I'll visit places in my dreams, before I know I'll even be there, where it is and why. Yet, once the actual event happens, it is exactly the same as in my dream.

I must be the second sleeping prophet. I dream something it it happens. All the time! I can't say what, but just last night I dreamed something, and it happened today. It's kind of creepy. I think we are all capable of dreaming a premonition. Just hope it is all good...

i dream in colors and i have de jua vu all the time mostly at work.

I have had dreams about things that i thought were wierd and then things did happen similar to the dream...
Not sure if was a premonition or just coincidence.

this happens to me all the time....altho its usually bad...and its only about people im close to.....

its been happening to me since i was little.....if its something to do with my siblings and really bad my dead mother comes to me and tells me in my dreams.....

for instance......around christmas my mother came to me in a dream and told me to get up and go to my brothers house right away....my sister in law was in labor..(she isnt due til march)..she told me in this dream if i didnt do this right away my niece will not live.....
altho my brother was very irratated by me pounding on his door at 2 am...he let me in and was tryin to calm me down when his wife came into the kitchen and told him she has gone into labor......
the baby is now being named after me and my mother.....yes my brother still thinks im crazy but he now listens to me when i tell him something.......

Deja vu happends to me almost everyday, but It's not about anything serious usually. It's mostly just random things that are about to happend, like completely pointless things, Sometimes it bugs me that i don't get better premonitions, but then again when i do get a good one, it makes me reolize how lucky I'm am to get them. I'm in the process of not taking them for granted.

Like you mine comes in dreams and flashes of images when i'm near someone or something familar to me

As the same as a lot of you. Most of mine are just little odd things that don't have any importance...Had one today.. maybe about 6 months ago I hade a dream that I in another city and having a yard sale but the things were not mine..Well I just did that today. When I had the dream it ment nothing to me and was just odd...Now I understand the Who what and Why of it...Its always like a moment of Deja Vu becuase I dont remember it till it happens and its as if I have done it before...It some times takes me a few to know it was because it was in a dream...

Yes, I have experienced Deja Vu and more than just a few times...The first few times i was a little weirded out by it but now it dont bother me and I look forward to it

It Happens To Me On A constant basis, I think Of Something and it comes to pass.
Sometimes It is something I'm thinking about such as a t.v. program and it comes on. Or i might be thinking of someone and they call.

I only get Premonition when something bad going to happen... and it will start a period of time before it actually happens... The last one was 2 years ago and it started about 2 to 3 months and I went throw it over and over again... The the thing happened and I was dumb founded... I knew all the was going to happen except i had the people wrong... I thought the person would be me and it was not! {I never actaull saw the person, just it happen and the aftermath}

I know I've had it happen to me a lot of times. I'll dream something and then be put into the same situation at a later date. It kind of freaked me out when it first started happening. But now I've just come to accept it

i have a few colour dreams haven't had one in a while but i get premonitions quite frequently the best examples are when im driving ive freaked my mates out cos ive known when another vehicle is coming round a corner or if someone is coming to the junction i am about to come to and so ive changed the way i approach it to avoid accidents i could say its saved some serious damage at least.

All of my dreams have been in color...i always thought that was normal...i've not really had a premonition before...that's more my sister...i've had deja vu before though...most of the time when something is gonna happen someone visits me in my dreams...the most common is lately has been my dearly departed aunt mickey and granddaddy pete....it's a little wierd...both my grandmother and i experience all the time!

on either wednesday or thursday night I dreamed that I would get into a fender bender in a parking lot because the other driver was not paying attention....

low and behold on friday, a parked car decided to hit the reverse without looking in their rear view mirror and crashed into my driver side door.

I've had several types of deja vu. Some are in the form of dreams, other times I'll blurt out that I think I will see someone at someplace and it will come true, sometimes it's simply an intense feeling of having done something before.

I have had many premonitions in my life. In my case I think I see things before they happen so I can deal with it easier. Kind of like a cooping tool. I know there is nothing I can do to change what I have seen.

for me i can never ever remember the dreams that end up happening. I fi ever remembe a dream its ones that are totally fictional. But almost every day i wake up i never remember a thing i dreamed about. Then normally about once every week i end up having just as i call it an "oh S**T" moment because i finally realized that i had a dream about that. The most recent one was a couple days ago wail i was with my girlfriend.

I have prophetic dreams like this all the time. These dreams are also in color and I can even feel, taste, touch and smell as though I were there in person. Many times the incident happens much later, as you have described. This is why I started writing as much as I could remember about these dreams down so that I could go back and reference them.

Yeah I get them all the time but its not like a scene its more like a photograph and eventually it happens and I'm like what the heck
Although I once had a vivid one right before it happened I was sitting down watching tv and I had a soda can on the coffee table and I had a vision of me picking it up and shaking it only to realize nothing was in it so I figured hell I know nothings in it so I'm gonna change the future and "not" pick it up so I continued watching tv then I thought what if I'm wrong and there actually something in it? Then that would mean I didn't have a premonition, so I reached over and picked up the can and instinctively shook it only to find out it was empty and I failed to change the future.........it was kinda depressing cuz that makes me feel like I have no control over my life

i had several experiences like this and i even posted a similar thread on this.

once i dreamed of a tsunami in full detail and i was really scared because at the momebnt that the sea will fall down on me, i suddenly woke up. and weeks after, a tsunami happened somehwere in asia.

sometines i dream of going into strange places and in time, i would suddenly realize when im visitng a certain place that i've been to that place although it was just in my dreams

I have little premonitions. Like knowing when the phone is going to ring and knowing who is calling. Or just gut feelings like packing something I wouldn't normally need and then end up using it. I did have one really big one last week about a kid in my school who is sexually molesting girls. It was really scary, now the guy is being taken care of.

*goosebumps* after reading NC Bandits post, that is exactly what happens to me too..the dreams I can feel and reach out too and often awake in a sheer panic and feeling of dread..

but i consider de ja vi and premonitions to be different from each other. to me, premonitions are something that will happen, deja vu is something that has all ready happened. so when i have dejavu i wonder when i did what i was doing before. but when i have a premonition, i dont usually feel that deja vu feeling when the premonition comes tru. i just feel like its something i expected. so to me they are different.

i have had premonitions before about family and friends but never really had true de ju'vu till i met my friend eric and it was like we knew each other from past lives.

I dream in color as well..... Whenever I have dreams of things to come that I want to happen I do not say anything to anyone.... butif it is something that i dont want to happen I must tell someone... anyone.

I used to have premonition like dreams all the time and I hated it I'm not sure if I learned to tune them out or just suppress them but I dont have then (that I can recall) nearly as often. Part of it may be that I learned how to control my dreams. So much so that I can even change the perspective from 1st person to 3rd person. Even with all of that I still sometimes experience Dej vu. As for the color issue most women dream in color its less common in men to dream in color something that may affect that is more men are color blind. I dream in full color btw

I have those off and on. It is weird when later on they really happen. The last one that I had I was awoke and it happened a few days later. I also have dreams in color. I didnt know that is rare. I just thought that it was normal. Some of my dreams are like movies.

I've had those before both of them and it sucks when i'm right or when i know somthing happends and i can't place where it happend before

I also dream in color. Animals dream in black and white. I hope the person who said that looks more closely to their dreams!! Dreams are definitely premonitions. I get premonitions all the time. They have been relatively good, over all, but occasionally are disturbing. I feel bad for the people who have really explicit premonitions, as they can be rather upsetting and graphic. I have been fortunate not to have had many graphic ones.

Deja Vu is a very handy tool when used properly.

I can't say I have ever had a premonition because I forget my dreams faster than I can record them. But I get deja vu all the time and sometimes it is a very strong sense of repeated actions, even the deja vu in and of itself.

Deja vu has been in my life longer than I've know the term for it. At times it is so powerful I feel dizzy. Sometimes a simple phrase or image will set it off.

I have also had a couple of Deja Vu experiences. There are a lot of articles online and offline concerning what you dream of and what they represent. I also dream in color, I'm also like NC Bandit, and I've also been known to cry in my dreams or if I'm having a nightmare scream and wake up everyone in the house before.

When premonitions come true it can be a frightening experience, especially in the case of major disasters. Experiencing this leaves me in a state of complete shock that I actually withdraw into myself for a few days after. Does anyone else share this feeling?

I have Deja Vú happen to me quite a bit. I often dream of things that later come true, the only problem with this is I often don´t realise I have seen this situation before until a few minutes before it happens so I am almost never able to change the situation. Many skeptics believe Deja Vú occurs because the brain receives the information twice. However, i believe thsi si true because if not, how could I actually remember the dream, and the fact that it happened a few days before.

yes I do believe in it. People in my tradition call it the site, it is a blessing and a curse if you ask me, as i have always had it.

I've had all sorts of odd things happen; I'll sing a song while walkingto my car and when I turn i nthe raio, it'splaying. I also finish peoples thoughts and predict reactions without action, itself.

As I dream at noght I have real dreams not cartoons and in a week it will happen just as the dream I had it a lot as a child but not so much now of days can you grow out of premonitions as you get older???

I have deja vu all the time. A place or person like I have seen or met them before. Oh & the phone ringing. About 95% of the time, before the phone rings, I will know it's fixing to. I'll look at my husband & say, "the phones ringing", he'll pick it up & just as he goes to say, "no it's not", it will ring in his hand..lol Freaks him out a little.

Deja Vu has just recently came into my life. By this i mean that i seem to get these feelings and visions that i have done things before in exactly the same place but it seems to surreal to be true.

xxEmaeraldxx i do feel that way. in fact i hate when i have certain types of bad dreams because it stays on my mind for days. i almost think i make things happen when i worry about them so much.

I went through a period of not sleeping because of this... but then u have mental breakdowns and those are worse.

Premonitions/De Ja Vu. I have this happen to me all the time. The first time was when I was in elementary school. And, the occurrences have increased through the years. I would love to learn how to control them. But, they come to me in my dreams. And, is seems, usually when I don't want them to.

I have them all the time, i have them when i encounter the person involved with the deja vu or the object of subject. When i see the future its cause i dream, when i see the past its cause i have touched someone and gotten glimpses, and when i meet someone who i am suppose to, i get wacked the the knowledge that i have known them before, but not really... kinda like i had a dream of them or i am reliving that moment again....freaks me the f out sometime... like with the guy i am with now, when we met, omg.. i was wacked with his image, voice and memories instatnly... i was setting there one moment talkin to him, and then wammy, i knew i knew him... the same happened to him..... deja vu happens different for everyone, lol

i get them frequently as well, i also dream in color, they're either very bright viberant colors or vivid kind of like pastels, and sometimes i try and change what is goin to happen if i can catch it in time, sometimes something is soo familair itll have felt like its happened 2 or 3 times before. but its something im used to by now, when i was younger everybody thought i was a freak naturally but eh whatever, i like to have fun with my "abilities"

I get them quite a bit but they are usally just quick ,almost picture flashes of things that happen later in my life.

i dream in colour...i didint think it was such a rare thing. And i stil remeber my first deja vu i was 8 lol and ever since ive had millions.....i actually start to freak out when i dont have them often. if i dont have one per week at the very least i get a lil anxious. i love having them. only ocne or twice have i actually changed somethign that happened in the dream so it didnt occur in real life. but it was nly somehtign minor. not life changing or nething lol half the time now i just sit back and smile bc im with friends and i realise ive dreamt the scenario already.

I have always dreamed in color ever since I can remeber.I have dreams and most of the time they come true but the ones that mostly come true are all the bad ones which I guess pretty much sux for me lol

first of all Premonitions are attributed to the presence of supernatural or paranormal abilities. second I have been having premonitions since i can rememebr and if you do not understand then it can be a bit confuseing. most of my premonitions have been warnings of what is to come.

from my readings I have found that de ja vu are markers telling us we are on the right path that we ourselves had set out for ourselves before we were born to this life

I have been doing a little research on this subject and found that the most popular scientific explanation is that it is nothing more then a chemical imbalance that temporarily lets your subcontious brain notice things faster then your consious one. When the consious brain registers the same situation, you get the Deja Vu feeling.

i dont think ive ever dreamnt in black and white. its always been color... and from what ive been reading, i dont see anyone saying that they have dreamt in black and white... where did that thought come from? Ive heard it before.

The scariest thing for me when dreaming is to be awake in a bad dream and not being able to get out of it. Being brain paralised.

I never dream. Don't even have a significant REM-phase.

But I am capable of foretelling the short-time future. Normaly.
But that's only due to logic and knowledge of physics. So no miracle there ...

I usually have stupid prmonitions that are just basically useless all the time (like my mom telling me somethin or just to that effect) but a few months ago I dreamed that I was in a store looking at stuff and my brother was at a navy office joining the navy. Once again I just blew it off like nothing but then one day I was in an outlet store while my brother was signing up for the navy. Its still freaking me out.

Whats weird for me is i now know where most of mine is coming from.. My dreams.. I have had certain dreams recently that have carried over into my awakened state.. It is weird... I dreamt of things happening at certain places.. and the next day or a week later.. it happened with a few slight differences...

I have dream about people I dont know all the time and then later see them walking around.... It is weird.

redbutr that has happened to me a couple of times as well. I dreamt of a teenage boy once, (nothing perverted either!) he was running from something down a dark alleyway. he had blue eyes adn dirtyblond hair. The dream made me feel strange when i woke. but i never thought anything of it. a few days later i saw the boy. I instantaneously knew it was him from my dream.

I never said anything to him. btu i thought of him for a long while wondering if i should have.

well I dream in color and I have had the same thing dream of things and it make no mean then like 2 years or 1 year later I realize I could have thout we have done this. It happen to me all the time in 1st gread but I would dream it more than one time 2 or so

i can be doing any thing (poi usually) and as i start to consentrait, i sorta go into my own little world, and i will get a flash of a thing happening, and it just won't make sense for months, and then i get the wierdest feeling of deja vu, and then i realise some thing has happened.

my friends want me to consentrait on the lottery.

I have Deja Vu at least twice a week. They are minor events, but the feeling of knowing what is going to happen in it, overwelms me and I remember the dream I had and watch to see if it comes true. It usually does. One of these days I will find a wise person to teach me how to hone this gift but until then, I will let it come naturally to me.

I have had the experience many times in my life. I think mostly it is due to me being lucky in being familiar with past life regression.Since my awakening several years ago, the premontions, etc. Has increased 10 fold.And being able to recognize and go back and work with the original image or impression I first pick up helps a lot.

ive had deja vu ever since i was little i would dreams of all these things and the next thing you know they were happening. its really weird. one time i dreamnt of walking down the street with this girl and her mom and we were talking about going to the movies, i was like ten went i had this dream then 5 years later i was walking down the same street with the same people takling about a movie and it was so weird. so your not the only one who gets them trust me.

You know, I do go through this every once in a while, and usually it is a bad gut feeling. All I can really say is that I just roll with it, theres no sense in trying to avoid it because in all reality you have no idea if things will turn out the way you think they will if you stay or go.

Happens to me all the time. I'll be doing something and swear I remember doing the same thing only months earlier. Even goes so far that sometimes I've actually told my wife that someone was going to call or something was going to happen (like a certain color or type of car was going to go by, etc.) and within minutes it happens. Just wish I could learn to control it better.

i don't see visions like most people do... i get feelings... i just KNOW something.. sometimes i can figure specifics like who or if it's bad or good, but never the minute details and i never 'see' it
i wonder if there is a way to focus it more so that i get more detailed in my premonitions

as for deja vu i get that quite often in places i visit a lot, such as work, and i just pass that off as i probably HAVE been doing that before ;]
but i have felt strange about a few places i've never been or never had been before.. a feeling of 'belonging' or comfortable with, which is strange, because as an agoraphobic i shouldn't feel that way

This has happened to me as long as i can remember. My dreams are so real. Like a movie playing, all are in color. It may be weeks, months, or yrs, but later on something happens, and i remember the whole dream, and it is playing out right in front of me. I also get feelings about people and places, that turn out to be correct.

yes i had a premonition that my first girlfriend would end up cheating on me with my brother and she swore she wouldnt and yet she did

That is the one gift (curse) that I wish that I did NOT have..... I am *coughs* blessed with it, but mostly to see, pain or death.....

A friend I knew (dont talk to him anymore, he blames me) Was thinking about going into the army, asked me what i thought... I said hey if it makes you happy, then go for it...
He signed on, the week that followed, I was riddled with the same dream or nightmare for 7 days, the exact same one.
The next time I talked to him, i asked him if he looked like... then i described him, to a T... tattoo and all. i told him to go AWOL, to run to Canada... do it now.... my dream was of him going to Iraq and him coming back... lost, confused and disabled, a jeep and an explosion.....
That was over a year ago...... and ya, it came true....
To know what is coming..... and only see pain.... SUX

Deja vu happens to just about everybody. Me, I have it all the time. I'll dream about something or be daydreaming and bam deja vu happens. Then when I recongize the deja vu moment I'm like....Holy S*# I knew that was going to happen! lols but maybe thats because I have been 'tired' or something.

Well...long, long ago I had one. It's the most vivid one still and I was like 10 at the time. It was interesting but still sucked. Because I dreamed that I had actually gotten up, got dressed, and even went to school and had class...then came home. Then I ACTUALLY woke up and realized that it was all a dream and I felt like killing myself. I didn't even want to go cus it was like...I was already there and I didn't want to live it over again, lol.

i used to get premonitions when i was younger but as i gotten older they became more frequent but i had forgotten most of the dreams, and when the day comes, i start to freak out. i dont care to much for them but i enjoy having them cause when i do remember them i find it funny.

I have to say my look on this many times a third eye is open then you will see more to come in your future then what people think

my premonitions have kicked in high gear lately and i hate it

I dream about things that happen months or years later, which disturbs me slightly when I first dream them because I may not know the people featured in them yet.
Also it's a little weird when the event actually comes to pass because its like I was here, but thats impossible....

I never remember my dreams, but I do feel that sometimes I get something similar to premonitions. It is kinda weird bc I wont see my ex for months, but I always know the day that I am going to see him again, bc I get this weird feeling. The last two times that I have seen him (they were 3 months apart) I got the same feeling. Also, a lot of times, I know who is on the phone when they call, and I answer by saying their name!!! lol

Deja Vu. I have dealt with it in advance by having a sort of visions that has happen in weeks. Its soo feaking I hate the having this looks into the future. But the visions only include events that has happened with me. or that has going to have me as a subject.

Premonitions in dreams give me the heebie jeebies, freak me out and scare the bejesus outa me!
