it depends on the type. you don't necessary have to drink the blood. in some instances all it takes is a drop of blood getting into a cut or some other open wound. as long as the blood mixes with yours, you turn.

Since I was absent for six days, I have researched this very subject, I have found many different relations: such as being born with it, and through a virus and taking in enough of the virus that can change you... I have many site to refer you to if you like...

I was sired, and then left to be my own solace, i know of purebloods, and as has been mentioned those who are born to be vampires, i feel ceertain there is not a definative way to be born to darkness, though the parvo virus idea always intrigued me, trust man to break something down to an animal disease.

There are several ways the mythological vampire is created. Some might say that it is the being biten by a vampire, while others claim that they have to feed off of a vampire for it to take.

As for modern day vampires, I think it is more of an awakening than anything else. I don't particularly see 6 year olds ravaging their parents for blood.. At some point sang vampires taste blood and realize that it provides them nourishment and energy that they cannot find elsewhere. Psy vamps are the similair that at some point they become aware of the energy transfering process and that they can get a high off of taking energy or others...

Sometimes you just grow up and realize that's who you are......

There is a difference between the folkloric vampyre and let's call it the modern vampyre. Let's face it all has changed since we shall say the Dark Ages when a man would pick up a sword for the sake of an argument. When people saw evil in everything they did not understand. We still don't know what all the neurotransmitters do in the brain or why men have more oxytocin than women even though that is the neurotransmitter that causes labor in females. We don't even agree on the nature of reality or understand death so I mean these are all hurdles. Perhaps medicine will not be able to provide answers to everything. Seeing is believing has never been a basic view of most if it was they wouldn't believe in Gods they cannot see without physical proof.

As for proving something that's a very difficult topic. It would take a lot of money to run all the tests to show a difference. The labs that are used by most doctors could never do sophisticated enough tests and what if it's all spiritually oriented by incarnation. Its like anything else one cannot prove it doesn't exist no more than one can prove it does. It has to do with belief and anecdotal experience of tens of thousands of people all over the world. Many are not vampyrics but why don't we use any of the other words. People took vampire because it has a sense of romance and darkness.

Most will tell you they are born how they are and they are human. The fact that they have a need for more energy than food can provide and other various things is what is said to make them a vampire not blood drinking. This is confusing to most because of all the folklore about them but vampire is only one word that has been used for energy feeding creatures. It never was about the blood with real vampyrics...it was about lifeforce energy period.

Vampires of the old fashion (hollywood) type are supposed to go that way, but for today's Psy vampires I've heard a few conflicting theories.

1. Psy vampires can not be made, merely born. It's a pure chance, sometimes destiny kind of thing that cannot be learned.

2. Psy vampires are created when another psy vampire "drinks" too deeply of someone's aura. The resulting "hole" takes a while to fill, and the affected person acts much the same as the psy vampire themselves until the hole is filled.

3. Psy vampirism can be learned or taught through deep meditation and lots of practice.

cool topic, i wouldn't know how vampires are 'born' but personally i don't believe it can be through a virus, i'm more inclined to go with drinking another's blood and blood getting into the wound.

Interesting thread indeed. I believe there are a few ways to becaome a vampyre. And they are, its in your bloodline, you are turned by one, or yuo simply choose to be one.

Yea it depends on the type, you can get the type from just drinking and some where they drink the vampires’ blood they become. For me on the hand I was born as one. Vampires’ like me may discover it at any time, and is usually though the blood line. But I don't know if of my parents is one, it may missed them and I got it from my grandparents or great grandparents. as far as I know the vampire that are born are the most strongest but correct me if im wrong I haven’t found many around my area only 2 or 3 and they were born.

I think that a Vampire is made, from blood. It's done either by being bitten, or drinking from the one who creates you. I definitely do not think Vampires are born.

that is how i know that is how vampires are turned. There could be other ways like some people on here have said but I tend to agree with the blood mixing. either drinking or your blood and the vampires blood get mixed.

i myself personally believe that vampires r not created, but instead born. they r born into this world for a reason and when they awake and realize who or what they r, they seek knowledge of their kind, trying to understand it.

The vampires of myth were thought to be created in a lot of different ways : an untimely death seemed to be favourite, especially during childbirth. A lot were created by being born under some circumstances, usually with a membrane over the face or an animal jumping over the birthing. Most vampires of myth were born like it from regular parents or died and came back, very, very few were 'made' during life.

Not many vampires seemed to have offspring, I think maybe it was because they didn't have many living cells in their bodies.

Modern folk who follow a vampire lifestyle seem mostly to make a decision and then turn to another for direction of some sort.

No one is truely a "Vampire" by any standards. The only standards that make an individual a vampire is the lifestyle that exist today and is being studied by modern scientist and other people who are interested in the manifestation of the modern vampire. You can't become a modern vampire unless you understand what it is to be one. I am not a modern vampire but people assume I am do to my high rate of sun poisoning and other things that can classify me as a modern vampire. I don't consider myself one only because I don't feel I am one.

If you are more refering to the myth there is countless ways of turning. The best idea is read about it in history/ mythology books that reference diffrent types of blood drinkers and tribes associated with blood drinking. Or in certian countries in Europe that have much of a vampire lore there. Don't realy on fiction books and movies to determine how to become a vampire... It is nothing more then fantasy.

Most of the "non-story" based beliefs that I've heard have said that vampire isn't made, they simply are. It's only a matter of time before a vampire awakens and begins to understand what they are, whether it came from bloodlines or they believe in reincarnation. I personally don't feel you can "make" a vampire, only teach them.

i've always found the method in white wolf's games to make the most sense, a vampire drains nearly all the blood in a mortal by feeding, then, when the person is on the brink of death, pours some of the vampires own vitae down the mortal's throat, saving and condeming all @ once.

LOL No it's nothing like that, no pain...it feels incredible! I felt like I was flying and I felt as if my soul was glowing and getting stronger. My veins felt like there was fire in my blood. Also I was very aroused lol.

I have never really met a vampyre who was turned I was born this way and have natural fangs that are larger then the average person. I have always been able to feel the energy off people and by that know who is coming into a room.

Nowadays, Hollywood and some subcultures throughout the world have taken the roots of vampiric folklore and have come up with there own ideas and thoughts on the creation of such creatures. Some say they were born as such, some say they were descended from powerful vampires and a stimulus of some sort triggered their turning, and many more reasons for the creation of the vampire kind.

you can go by legend that the very first vampire was Lilith the first wife of Adam who gave up her boring life in the garden of Eden to be with the angel sameal. It is said she sprouted wings and flew out of the garden. She is also the mother of Cain and it is the children of Cain who now have the original vampiric blood line

from what i have read, the majority of vampires are born vampires but do not "change" unlike later in life.

In my opinion this is a complete falsification based on someone's vivid imagination. I know that I was born the way that I am and nothing has implanted that into me. I think that is also the general consensus of the people that I have talked with on this site. It is my belief that those who are true vampyres are born that way, even if it does take them time to grow into their abilities.

Ha ha. Now that's the best question I've seen on this site for a while. Well you'll get a lot of different answers to such a question. I don't know all to much about blood sucking vamps. So I can't say anything about that. But ones that such energy a Psi-vamp if you will. Everyone can be on of them it's not that hard. But it doesn't come easy to most. So are born with the ability right away, others must work for it. I'm a Psi-vamp merely cause I can produse energy myself. ^^

I believe that unless you are born a vampire then the change to one involves a exchanging of blood. And if vampires are truly the dead come back then it must be painful to feel life ripped from you and replaced by something that by most standards was not meant to happen.

I thought it was a matter of eather being bitten by another Vampire, or even a single drop of there blood mixing with your own, just a matter of transmiting the virus.

Hmmm, lots of varying opinions. I agree with some of them however. I think the 'hollywood' or 'fiction' versions are a bunch of malarky.

You 'awaken' or realize you need the blood. Some have a medical condition that causes it, others have the hunger, so to speak, for the blood. Some people have a mental condition that causes it.

I do believe that one Vampyre can increase the need for it in another. The Vampyre and the donor share a bond when they share blood.

in my never humble opnion... vampires are born.. we are not made.. turned.. created.. or anyhitng else.. we are now as we always have been and always willbe. We are humas that need energy in one form or antother and have evolved ( learned.. be given.. what ever way you wish to word it) ways to fill the lack we have.
