What is the rave to you?

To me it is a place I can come and be with people who understand me and accept me. What about you?

I say its a good place to learn new things and meet new people and make friends.

Its a good place to meet people, and discuss things and chat about stuff.

It is a place where I can be around people of like-mind and learn more about the things that intrest me , and ask questians and discuss things that other wise would deem me some sort of a wierdo in the common society.
It is a place to get to know others as well , people from all over the world , their thoughts and opionions , how they previeve life and or live it..ect....and make a few friends alnog the way as well.

Also , I can post up some of my poerty , and have it read by a sociaty that accepts that sort of content.

A place I come to be accepted and meet others that feel the same way. To meet new friends and enjoy conversation as well as deep thoughts that i may not have had before on certain aspects of peoples believes and thoughts. also they them selves react to society and their demeaner of people who donot fit in societies classes.

It's were I can be around people with similar interests, & I like the discussions in the forum, you can learn alot :)

to me..it is a place wheer I can 'let my hair down' be as alternative and ME and not be judged badly for enjoying dark things and horror films!!LOL.

I enjoy mingling with like-minded people.. and indeed have 3 REAL LIFE friends on here.. and some Fantastic 'Virtual' friends that if we lived nearby.. we would be FIRM friends.

for me its a nice place to meet others like me. to find friendship outside of the norm. to be truely accepted

I first checked out the rave because my wife told me it was a cool site... then a good friend sent me an invite to join which I gladly accepted... for the first few months my profile lay dormant and I never even looked at it... but I came home from working out of town for almost 2 years and looked at it and the possibilities and some of the other people here... what started out as a... well you want me to join it and I will type thing has become an I look forward to hearing from my friends here and meeting new ones

The rave is a place that I have met some wonderful people who have taught me many things. I have learned that many of the viewpoints about different things I once taught in Sunday School is wrong. I was once told that all Goths worshipped the Devil and that if one belonged to a site such as this they had to be a devil worshipper. I already knew before joining this site that could not possibly be the cause. This site proved me right. I have found people of many different beliefs on this site.

I have learned more about what Wiccan is and understand it better. I feel that no matter what I believe, I will be accepted on this site. That is not the same with some of the people I know in real life.

The Rave is a wonderful site that has increased my knowledge about vampires and the paranormal. Rating the database, also has brought to my attention cool books, movies, tv shows...

Myfavorite part of the Rave is my House, La Bella Oscuridad. I have made some really cool friends, and the House forums and halls are ultimately where I spend the bulk of my time at.

The rave to me is a place of like minded people a place where i am not judged, but accepted. its a place of comfort and of friendship.

A place I can escape from my sucky reality...and the place where I can be myself more openly.

Its a place where i can hang out & talk to friends, be myself without the prejudice & a place to get away from the everyday norms of life....

for me the rave is a place where i can just be myself & make friends. i love this site,really great people are on here & i'm not judged like i was on myspace. not one person has been mean to me here :-) hurray vampire rave!

The rave is amazing to me.

It is the place I met the father of my baby and soon to be husband.

It is where I have met so many friends and discover new ones from week to week.

It is where I am able to express myself in ways where I can't otherwise and not get in trouble for it or penalized.

It is a beautiful place where learning can happen when VR is functioning correctly or close to it, and I mean how it was meant to function to begin with.

started as something to do with boredom time, place to meet some friends and converse with old friends....grew into a huge barely controlled mass in which the more time passed, the more they people I cared to have intelligent conversation with left....and thats about where it sits...somewhere I occasionally come....waiting for the forums to reaquire their former intelligence level.....there has been the odd spark of hope...I just hope they grow

to me, the rave is a place to fellowship and maybe find someone like yourself, who you can talk to and get to know. the rave is a big net of people and we all hold each other together by helping one another.

Its fun and the comraderie is great.

It's a place where I can openly express different aspects of my personality that I run into difficulties expressing elsewhere, a place to talk to others with interests like mine, a place to learn, and a great place to meet new people that are more open-minded than at, say, MySpace.

VR to me is an addiction! I have made some good friends, and have lots of fun! There is a wealth of information on this site. I would be lost without it!

To me it's a place where I can embrace the darker aspects of my personality and character...I'm sick of always having a polite smile pasted on my face and having to word my responses in such a way that I don't upset others...for being the proverbial "helper" all the time...here...I'm left alone...but I also have the choice to relate to people if I wish to...

I think everyone above has touched on some aspect of what VR means to me.

It is a place to discuss subject matter that would raise too many eyebrows to comfortable talk about elsewhere. It is a means to meet and get to know wondeful people from around the world. The society system engages you in a smaller, cohesive group, where you can bring anything up for discussion. The journal and portfolio sections allow you to express yourself through words or visually.

Cancer has created a wonderful community that has become a part on my life that is very valuable to me.

For me, the Rave has become somewhere that I can express myself as I cannot in the "real" world, that is without the fear of judgement. Also, it has become a place where I can make new friends ever five seconds and have intelligent discussions with anyone and everyone at any given time.

the rave to me is a wonderful place to relax, meet new people and learn new things about different ways of life than my own. I can post poetry and pictures here and share them with other individuals.

To me, this is a place to learn and to teach,to impart and absorb knowlege,to look for and actually find some on here like myself

I think the Rave to me is a way to keep in touch with friends who live far away. Also to learn about things that I can't learn anywhere else. Perhaps even recieve the best advice from my friends.

i absolutely love the rave.. i was hooked instantly ...i have met some interesting people on here and it gives me a sense of accomplishment...i feel accepted for the person that i really am and that is priceless

It is a home full of very interesting people. I have been here for a little over a year and have heard and seen so much that I had never seen before I am so honord to be part of this Rave.

The rave to me is a place where i can come and be happy with what i believe in and not be teased for who or what i am, its also a place where i can learn and meet people who believe and enjoy the same things as me .

I'm in the same place as Daermon but my reasons for joining were based on helping a friend.

to me the rave is a place where i can come and escape from everyday 'normal' life, you can be yourself on here, don't need to put an act on, also a place where you can commuicate with other like minded people

To me it is an escape from everyday prejudice and persecution. A place to be myself without others fearing me or looking down upon me. It's also a great place to make friends and learn more about our culture.

The rave is my internet 'home' where I can have friends that I don't have to worry about.

My House is the best part that's a real laugh sometimes and somewhere that people take the time to help you along in any subject when you're really stuck.

I like watching what people say to each other and the different points of views, I watch people who are completely different thinking they are the same !

It's somewhere I can be me without worrying about money, work, stress. I can kick back and chat to five very different people about very different things at the same time, and poke Chemical Reaction lol. It's mad but keeps me sane sometimes

rave is another excuse not to be socialable in the real world. I am completely hooked, its become an obsession..........Damn Rave!......... Lol

I work extremely long hours and there isn't always a whole lot to do so I came here. Its nice to chat to people who seem to have similar intrest and some of the art work here is amazing

I agree with Skylla about it being sad that people feel they can't be themselves in real time. The world is too judgemental.

I, personally, enjoy the Rave because it's a place for me to meet new people and to have discussions with other vampires or those interested in vampirism about vampirism and even things totally not related to vampirism. On some of my Yahoo groups, off-topic discussions aren't allowed.

Rave to me is my Home. When i want to relax and forget about everything in life, I grab the computer and come here. I feel better when I am here

like any party its a change to mingle with like minded individuals, have fun, and enjoy some of our differences without taking ourselve TOO seriously.

The Rave is like a club to me, were i can came and meet a lot of friend and have a good time whit them, we are just missing the dancing and the drinks

It's a combination interactive game and social tool for (hopefully) like-minds.

The is a place where I can be myself and say my true feelings on a subject . Also its like a home away from home . A big family that understands one another and that doesnt judge . Its also a great place for knowledge on many subjects . I'm glad to be a member on here .

A friend had told me about vr at first when I came to this place I was only going to stay for just one night and leave and never set foot on here again then as the night went on I had met some real awesome people that I had found out that they were really caring and loving so I got addicted to this place and now vr is my home and I can be my self on here.

VR is supporting friends I already had, making a few new ones, learning discernment as I wade through different perspectives to find the ones that hold merit for me, and my favorite part has to be the journal section.

I love having a place to be creative and where interested people can share and comment about what they read there.

My friend introduced me to the Rave and at first I was totally nervous. I only knew two ppl here .I wanted to learn as much as I could yet stay out of sight ..silly I know.But now I have met several wonderful ppl here and concider it my home a place I don't have to feel like such an outsider as I do in the outside world.Plus I have met some like minded ppl whom I hope I become close friends with.

The Rave is a place where I can freely express myself without having to worry too much about what people are going to say, since most of the people are really very nice.

i find it is a place to make friends and learn about different things.

To me Vr is like a home on the internet where you can talk to freinds. learn new things and express your opinion on many topics. it also very usefull to find out new information about the paranormal,occult, and various other things.

To me it has been my muse, it redefined the creativity that I have always used, but let go dormant for some things that needed doing. My awakening was that if imagination, so much imagination that my first few months here I felt like I was 20 years younger.

It holds a power in that there are layer upon layers of the game that can be played. While the people continue to move about and socialize, many unaware of what lurks around the cyber corner.

As it grows, the creative force it holds only expands exponentially to the point, where it will eventually go beyond what we know today as it continues to evolve.
