Do you think all magic is bad or do you think it is the person behind the magic that tell the vibes how that are to be? Why do you think some people casted us out for doing it when holy people us it every time they go to church or when they chant the our father or the hail mary.

Do you think if some one does magic that they or bad or witches and if so that the whole world is one true or not true?

There are people that do bad magic as well as people that do good magic. It is a personal hoice if u want to do good or bad magic. Doing bad magic comes back at u 3 times worse

1) No I don't believe all magic is bad, the person using the magic determines if it is used for good or evil . Magic is magic its not black or white and its not good or evil.....its how it is used by an individual.

2) I believe, certain people banish those doing magic out of fear of not knowing and being uneducated. I think that certain holy people understand it but donot want to recognize anyone elses use of it. (this part would be a discussion for a different place and time)

3) No I don't believe that anyone useing or practicing magic is bad or evil. I believe that everyone wheather they know it or not practices a little magic from time to time. I do feel that if someone practices on a regular basis would be considered a witch, and that isn't a bad thing by anymeans. There is plenty of good that can come from magic use....if used correctly and with love....

See I am try to make a piont with this for the ones that are closed minded and for the ones getting in to it so please feel free to show your input on here.

I believe there is good and bad in every aspect of life, magic is no exception. What makes something "good" or "bad" are people.

Power comes with a responsibility which is often times ignored and used in an inappropriate manner to benefit one's self.

I personally do not believe in "white " or "black" magick. Magic is energy, nothing more, nothing less......use that energy in a negative way.....yes it is bad/negative. Use it in a positive way....it is good/positive. I think it all depends on the intent of the person performing the ritual.

I think that everything has a balance. Magic is neither good or bad, black or white, but both. You have to have one for the other to work. It's what you do with what you have. Just remember Karma is a bitch sometimes.

as it has been stated, it depends on the intentions of the person casting the magik, even something that can be considered 'white magik' can be used for evil... so it does depend on the person and the reason they are using it.

Magic is just like any other tool, it is the intentions of the user which determines good or evil.

I agree with most people here who have posted here already. magic is netural...it all depends on who is weilding it and what the intention is, if the purpose is evil then evil will only beget more evil, or if for good then good will come of it.

If you like compare it to a car. you can use the car to rob a bank and run the policemen over, or on the other hand you could use a car to catch the criminals. It all comes down to free will.

You can give too much of an herb usually used for healing and poison someone....

You can invoke the blessings of gods and goddesses in someone's life, but if that goddess happens to be Eris, goddess of chaos....that's not such a blessing.

So yeah, there's such a thing as dark magic and such a thing as light magic...but dark magic can be used for good (say, breaking a curse or protections that strike back at the person who tries to attack you) and light can be used with darker intents.

well what do i think, about magic, well i havent thought about it much but i believe it has to be the person that could be bad usin g the magic .. its like having a gun.. the gun dont kill the person does because the gun cant pu;; the trigger , a person does

You are correct in stating that magic is used within the church, as much as they condemn magic. I am looking at it from the erspective of the one church I am the most familiar with: the Catholic Church. Think about it... Who do you think the Saints were? Many of them weren't "normal" people, but were people who possessed powers. They were decreed Saints only because what they did somehow was of benefit to the church. If you had powers and did not benefit the church, you were persecuted.

I practice Wicca on the white side and sometimes my inclinations turn towards the darkness but I am strong enough to pull myself back,it is rather a matter of what you choose to be but know this,everyone has a dark side as well as a light side it really just depends on you and how you wish to be,and beware the lure is strong.

When witches/ wizards use magic, we call it magic. however, when priests or any religus people use magic, they do not view it as magic. they view it as holy products of gods work. they wish not to believe in the truth. for they fear it's power. they think that surely something that powerful must not be any form of good energy. so they say that anyone who uses magic is evil. that's all it is.

its not the magic thats bad. its the person doing the magic and their intent in using it. and yes i think that it is used much the same when saying prayers. its along the same lines and saying a spell, your asking for something, and saying a prayer to ensure that you stand a chance of getting what you asked for. much like casting a spell. but like i said its the intent behind the spell that makes it good or evil.

well there is good magick and there is evil magick but it also depends on the persons intention behind what they are trying to achive because we are all good and evil inside us and anything can happen specially for someone who doesn't know what they are doing or are on drugs while doing them...

I agree with those who said that magick is neither good nor bad. It is a neutral energy. Whether it is used for good or bad purposes depends on the person who uses it and what their intentions are for using it.
I think that the use of magick is frowned upon because not many people understand it... they may even fear it.

I respect the belief of all those who have posted to this thread, however, I do not believe that magic is a neutral energy. The type of magic one invocates starts from the dress, purfumes, candles, magic circle, spirits, ect... The one performing the magic knows whether it is good or evil from the moment they begin the ceremony. The blessings over your tools and the magic circle you choose to use directs your path.

I dont think magic itself is bad however it is the person that does the magic is either good or bad. It is like everything we do, say and us, it is the person at fault.

People throughout history has feared magic but it was magic they feared it was the person who was conducting it. Look at how history has portrade witches they were always bad, ugly (with a wart on their nose) and always dressed in black.

Now it has gone the other way thanks to shows like Charmed. We are now looking at things in a different light.

The good or bad in Magik is only determined by the person preforming it and their intentions. No matter what there is always going to be good and evil. It's the balance of life.

I've always believed that people that cast out the ones that use magik, are the ones that are the most evil, just becasue they are scared and refuse to understand.

Thats like asking is religion is bad or evil. No its not in fact its a good thing but its what people use it for and as that makes it bad and evil at times. More people have died in the name of "god" then for any other reason in human history.

I think it all depends on the person practicing the magic and their intentions. i do not think all magic is bad, but if someone is practicing it with ill-intentions then, of course, that magic will be bad - and vice versa.

Magic is like any other tool or property- it is not inherently in and of itself good or bad- how it is used is what makes it good or bad. A screwdriver by itself is neither good or bad, it is simply a tool- used to put up housing it is good, used to hurt someone it is bad. The intent is either good or bad, not the object itself per se.

Indeed this is a common question asked...I do not think it is the magic which is bad. However I do not believe it should be commonly used either. Using it for such things as personal gain and such things, bad in my idea. Healing is good however.

Wolfkiller, while I would not classify psychic as a magic user, I'm sure those who are superstitious would do so since it's different than the normal and to many that makes it bad.

I believe there is energy all around us. Some of the energy can't be focused as easily by those wanting to control it. That energy may end up being seen as evil.

not all magic is bad, it depends greatly upon the person, whats in their heart, their motivation, and the source of the powers they summon. There are many variable, more that im sure i have not mentioned.

Magic is easily good or evil. I believe the person controlling it has all the power that is needed to decide which it is.

I will preface my opinion by stating that I do not practice ritual or religious magic, so take the following with a grain of salt.

Magic is neither good nor evil. It is the will of the practitioner which dictates goodness or evil. Magic is a tool, similar to a carpenter's hammer. The hammer itself is not evil, but if a vengeful carpenter sunk the claws of the hammer into another human's skull..... well, we would have to determine the preceding event that encouraged the carpenter to do that wouldn't we?

I believe its all based on your intentions. Kill an animal because you need food and that isnt necessarily a bad thing. Kill it for fun and some would say quite the opposite. Its not the best analogy but I think it works.

We always blame the item in use that it is good or bad ie..guns, medician, magic, armies etc etc. However in real terms for them to be evil or bad it has to be the person behind it, a gun want fire unless someone pulls the trigger, a magic spell will not happen if someone doesn't make it. We as a race have to stop blaming an object for being bad but look at what is behind it.

I think magic is a very nice philosophy, and love to use it, but I always follow a golden rule, and that is, not to use magic for any bad acts.

How a person wields that energy determines good or bad. Sure there are specific spells intended for a specific use, but the purpose/intention/person's heart and 'soul' could determine the outcome of a neutral spell.

If a spell is cast and the equation is balanced by the caster then the intention of the spell is determined by the universal cycle if those forces are applied or an attempt to apply them abusively or without ritual requirements ,then the caster may suffer(which some are willing to do)or benefit from it.I find the gray areas of magic ...chicanery,hypnotism,and even parlor tricks are useful forms of magic that can be abused.
