I don't think I'm actually frightened. I'd say that the prospect of something unknown is more exciting than frightening. There are so many questions that would be able to be answered, so many mysteries would be solved. Very exciting.
I would like to meet them as well as long as they don't try and probe me lol
Well apparently we're the ones trying to catch a few so that we can poke and probe them. It's like a never ending race, who gets who first and who gets to poke who first. :P
Aliens do not frighten me, matter of fact they intrigue me and would love to see some aliens
If you think about how advanced their technology would be, my biggest fear would be what if they decided they wanted what we have, like in independence day, how could we stand up to them if they decided to come and attempt to take over? Would we even really have a chance against them, or would they be peaceful? I think their are many life forms across the vast universe and not all are peaceable.
well what i say about aleins that im afraid about is I don't want them being the kind of monsters that tv protray them to be like scary monsters
Well I am not afraid I just would like to know if they are friendly or not .. So it is always about the Unknown ya know, and Our government wants to examine and prod them which is crazy. I would hope we could all be civilized and learn from one another and not use each other as a specimen LOL
I wouldnt say that i was frighten of ufo's aliens I just think I dont the unknown idea and if the are friendly or not
Hands down ,the whole probe, poke and cut thing.
Need I say more?
The thought doesn't really frighten me it more so interests me. I don't know what to expect from something unknown so it's more of a thrill to me.
Making fun of me now? Lol j/k...I dunno I guess when I was like seven I went to Chile and we saw something hovering in the mountains and we were far away from the city but it was kind of saucer shaped. I guess that triggered my fear for a couple of years afterwards lol.
the fear of the unkown is just that the fear of the unknown me i would try to go up and talk to one if i seen it
I have no fear whatsoever regarding the existence of aliens. Whatever aliens could do to us that is negative, we do to ourselves already. Murder, bizzare expieriments, war, and even the destruction of this earth have either been done already throughout history, or could be an act we are entirely capable of ourselves.
I'd like to think that beings that have such superior technology that they are able to come here to earth and investigate us, are also beings that may have also grown and progressed spiritually as well as morally.
Of course, it would be folly to also think that these types of beings are all that could exist. Just as there are more violent nations in this world who often seemingly live by a code of violence, suffering, and the suspicion that anyone different from themselves are 'evil', there too could be 'alien nations' that are also more combative and xenophobic.
Hopefully, the former will be who we meet first.
The thought of aliens flying around us dosent worry or frighten me. I'm actually interested in them and would like to learn more about them.
I don't truly believe there are aliens about. The idea I find intrigueing and of course I think that it's probable that there is life other than ours, however since there is not indisputable proof of such, I don't feel one way or the other.
UFO's never scared me. i actually think it makes perfect sense that we're not the only intelligent (or semi) life force in the universe. but i gotta say, when people start talking about anal probes i get a little freaked out.
I'm more frightened by human activity then I am from aliens.
Of course it is logical to assume some alien races are violent but the odds of any aliens making their way to Earth is rather low.
Should we be "invaded" I'm sure we could put up a pretty good fight, humans are like cockroaches :)
The people that write the books and the fact that they want grant money spent on "research" that will never produce anything or investigate a single thing.. even if they did "find something" it would be insignificant. All the grant money going to waste grant money that could wipe out other real problems of invasion.. like cancer..
dabbler - so in essense, you're saying that you believe that in this entire cosmos, we as humans, are the only intelligent life?
I refuse to believe that, myself. I feel as though it would be a tragic mistake to think that in this entire universe, we are all that there is. To me, it seems egotistical to think that humans are the only possiblity for sentient, self aware beings (even regarding our own planet and it's life - recent studies have proven that african grey parrots as well as dolphins and elephants among other animals as well, are self aware. Something that we previously thought couldn't be possible) Or that we are a cosmic mistake, and that no where else in this cosmos, such a thing could ever happen again. I feel as though that idea is rather naive.
Personally, however, I don't think the human race is even slightly ready to encounter beings from another planet. I believe that compared to anything else outside of earth, humanity is barely leaving it's infancy and we have a long way to go before any such contact could occur.
If there is anything that scares me about them, it would be the fact that they're unknown to me.
The technology. The alien species as a whole is something I've never seen or anything before.
The idea of being a guinea pig isn't that appealing to me. I had better at least get paid for it anyway haha.
The simple fact that they may wish to experiment on us or rule our planet, of course that may lead to an improvement lol
I'm not really scared of them, more fascinated with the fact that this higher life being is out there. I would like to know more about the universe and its wonders, how things works, and see many other places.
Nothin really frightens me about aliens, I feel that they are helping us to move in the right direction
Iv had an encounter of sorts …. No anal probing im sure of that. Lol
Most have been under influence of some sort or another so even though I know what I saw and my friends it can be marked as mass delusion.
However as a child of 14 myself and over 100 fishermen were fishing a competition on Seaton beach in England. We seen a formation we thought were helicopter lights high in the sky on course with us.
Then they dropped from cloud level down halfway to just above sea and still coming.
We all started to panic as it might be military training or something and we started to real in our rods n run up the beach.
My dad myself and friend john stayed and the lights hit the water n went under still not slowing no splash just moving towards up.
My dad shouted check your watches ( he has experienced something like this on the ark royal in the Bermuda triangle) and we braced then nothing the wave they would have been on just smashed up the beach n nothing no lights n aliens and a lot f scared men. We carried on fishing.
So no im not scared of aliens and would welcome them
Based on the way humanity treats each other on this planet... im pretty sure that they are more afraid of us then we of them... hell we only make technology to kill each other, wherew as they make it for travel and exploration, overall bettering their species. I would only fear i guess that they decide we should no longer be in exsistance and wipe us out... then again... i dont think that the nullification of humanity would be a bad thing... heh heh... no i dont fear them, i think that they are smart for limiting their contact with us.
I don't know about frightening. I think maybe I find it quite exciting.
For example, if I got abducted one day and found myself in an alien ship, I'd be a bit confused and scared.
Now, here I think it's a real possibility and there is no doubt that there is something else out there. It's pretty large, the universe.
If there wasn't anything else out there, I'd be extremely surprised.
Not frightened or afraid of aliens, ufos more curious about it than anything.
I do think that we are getting the red necks of the alien group, the intelectuals are going to other planets that are more advanced than we are.
We have enough problems communicating between countries, ok so imagining their are others 'out there" now imagine the way they travel.. add to that the chances of them finding ll the others as well.. and then if this was all Physically with testable evidence accounted for. what would all that confirm to me..? That if "they "are pot there they are really not that interested in us. and there are too many people that claim they seethem, and always bulk on producing evidence of such things. whether it is Gods, or Aliens, Fairies or Angels . what is the significance of being duped by spectacular hoaxes and misperceptions. why would people give such advance projection to aliens and then have them interacting with humans (us ignorant-not-in-deep-space-monkeys-on-a-planet-barely-past the-discovery-of-the-wheel ) you want me to except that there are aliens that we have not seen, yet believe that we are are a febble mortals compared to them.. new gods.. that is all I hear.
I do believe there could be another geo scape "out their" we are seperated by things beyond compression, and comprehension. Out beyond the Bounds or Glass Sided Boxes filled with clutters of claims.
The red necks, master Emanuelo?
At least let them be Indiana Jones types, educated but coarse.
The adventurers come first. Strong. Heedless. One or two good ideas.
I have had 2 sightings myself.
1st I was about 7 and standing outside my grandmothers house with my uncles and we saw the lights in the sky. The ship was close to us and we could see that it was like nothing else we have ever seen.
The second was many years later. Some friends and I were on our way home from the beach. we all saw the ships in the sky and all commented on it
doesn't scare me at all. I mean everybody knows there is other life out there it is only a matter of time i think that we are going to make contact.
What makes you think society fears "aliens"? I mean come now, I do not fear that which I have not met. I mean ignorance is bliss, but there is a line to be drawn by what to fear and when to fear it.
i fear the lenght those that are desperate to prove that there are UFOs will go, it is all fun until someone looses an eye...
If they did take over the planet, they may do a better job running it than us humans... But I wouldn't like to be locked in a room alone with them.
Nothing...hard to be afraid of something that doesn't exist...even IF they existed...there is nothing to fear.
It doesn't frighten me. But the thought that there are things up there watching us, not knowing if there friendly or hostile...
The fact that so many people are attributing any- and everything to them ....
None of it, actually. I was taken once when I was a child but I was asked, not abducted. I still have physical proof of my experience. Also, I recently saw a couple UFO's when I was visiting Missouri recently. It was amazing. You may not believe me, but it is quite true.
They dont scare me, they intrest me, and yes they may want to kill us like so many movie portray, but who can say they have been killed by a ufo?
They might have advanced more than us. But some do say that time goes slower in space than it does on earth. its all exciting, new race, speices, technology.
This is a subject I am pasionate about. To me, a lack of any real evidence of a trasitional god, Darwinism's lack of real explination as to the beginning, leave open spectulation of another source for the coming of mankind. Now, no, I am not a space head by any means. I have sone much research in to this issue however, and I have found so many referances to this plossible theory. Through out history, and even in biblicle times , many referances have been made to the intervention of beings outside our world on the path of mankind. Beside, for to think that man is the only intelligent beings in the intire expanding univers , is nothing short of arogance. I think there is life out there and even more so , the origans of man.
The most frightening them would be the possibility that aliens would use us for food.
The fear of the unknown. So much is not known in this universe it's highly doubtfull we are the only living species in the entire galaxcy. Yet there's been no substainsal evedence of anything ufo or alien rated. Just blurry pictures that could really be anything depedning on the persons perception.
What frieghts me is the possibitly that they mean to hurt and or kill with out understanding why.
What bothers me about aliens is that my true love is an alien. I am convinced of this. If I can't figure out where a woman gets her hairbrained apradigms from... how the hell am I suposed to figure out where my true love gets her ideas from... if they turn out to be an alien?
*smirk*
What frightens me most is that they could beam me up just like that and do all kind of experiments and research on me, and I couldnt do nothing but scream.
Thats so scary, damn it.
If aliens came here, that would mean they are far more advanced than us, because obviously we have not been able to go to them. The scary part is they may look at us as we look at lesser species. We normally either eat, experiment on, exterminate or use them as beast of burden. Just think, the alien word for cattle may be "humans". Just a thought
What scares me the most is that we don't have actual photos of them .... only verbal or written. I mean well.........there are photos, but alot claim that they are government projects....etc. Get my drift?
My belieef is that the photos might be of no use actually, since it is logical to assume that a species with such evolved technology is capable of walking among us with out being noticed. They probably appear in our image as well.
I am not frightened because I know that it is arrogant to think that we are alone, I just hope that we would have the common sense not to attack but to try to learn from any alien species we are lucky enough to come into contact with.
I find the idea of aliens/ UFOs fascinating. Not really that scary.
I wonder who would be part of the welcome commitee once they make contact and would like to land a spaceship at JFK.
I wouldn't be scared of Aliens or UFO'S as long as they kept their distance. It would only be if they come up to me then I mightr be somewhat scared but also might run screaming lol
I wouldn't say they frighten me. The only thing that would frighten me is if there were aliens landing in my yard in their UFO's coming to take over the world.
That'd be pretty frightening.
im not scared of aliens just intrigued if they exist and if they are more technological than us
saying I wouldn't be scared is a straight lie. How can you expect to not be potentially frightened by what's unexpected? The difference is being able to learn to get over the fear instead of being crippled by it.
I do admit to being very anti-anal probing, if we must stick to topic.
lol They do not frighten me. All I ask is they kill me before they do something to my body. o.O
I guess the real question is, do you believe in them? :)
Other than the fact that assuming they do see us, they're advanced enough we don't really know much about them. That's kinda scary.
But they haven't wiped us all out or decided to eat us yet, so....
I guess the most frightening thing would be that they'd land here in the US and get outright offended right away, then decide we're not worth talking to :P
Aliens would only frighten me if they came here to wipe us out, or carried some disease that would.
They Don't want you to be afraid. They want you to wait in line and get their hard copy books signed.. by the enlightened people they chose to write their thoughts, because they have so much flattering stuff to say to peoples ego as beings that deserve the "hidden presence" of a divine .. errr technological advanced race.
um...if they wanted us for food, that would be bad too...LOL!
UFOs don't really scare me. I figure what'll happen will happen so if some aliens decide to land on our crazy planet and inspect some of our people they're just going to go ahead and do it whether we want them to or not so why worry about it unnecessarily.
The flip side is that the aliens come here and then leave abruptly in disgust.
The alien being itself doesnt scare me, what they can do does however. I think we are lucky so far they seem to only wanna help us grow but if they decide to wipe out our race I think we would all be scared senseless.
Seems like most people are scared of being abused by aliens. If aliens do exist, I'm sure they have the same concerns about us.
It is the Aliens on Earth that are the most frightening ;)
Too much contraversy to make a solid decision. Sure it's scary to think about, but is it real or hoaxed.
I agree with a lot of people, we have been tought to fear aliens, they tend to study us, abuse us, but how often do you hear the good stories? I have heard of many stories where they treated a person with a deseise or a disorder and cured them of it, I suppose their medical technology is far advanced of ours, perhaps we should try to welcome them, they could make some changes to benifit us if we were able to get past the fear most have of them.
So far I think what we humans have done here to experiment on things and make "discoveries" is far more horrifying than the concept of aliens.
I fear what people that want others to believe will make them do something that could harm someone. like shining lights in the sky making a plane crash.
Nothing about aliens and UFO's frightens me. I am more intrigued by the matter. I do not belive that we are the only living beings out there, but if possible, I would like to meet them, to see how much they are like us etc.
one of the scariest things about UFOs i think is the fact that it's such a foreign thing that the unkonwn aspect of the UFO would scare people more than anything
Its not UFO's that scare me. Its the denial by our government.
i am more afraid of the people who are so arrogent as to think we are the only intelegent life forms in the universe
I agree but to extend that to hyper space travel.. that is astonishing ..
what scares me the most is we know amost nothing about them, or if they exist at all
Boy when they lift the veil there will be a lot of psuedo-academics out of a gravy convention circuit.
The fact that I know next to nothing about them. That truly terrifies me.
The thing that frightens me the most is that they don't come by and beam me off of this planet.
The worse is the govt. hiding any info they do have. Why hide
this info from the public. thats what is scary.
DarkestDesires: You never know, that could be true! I mean we could be the aliens experiment...
The whole concept is intriguing and fascinating to me. I believe of all the millions of solar systems and planets/suns like our own - there is life on other worlds. Too bad we're rather out in BFE in our own solar system.
MaraJade - oh yeah!
I don't really think that I am frightened. More like intrigued by them. Curious to see if they really do exist. I know we hear things about them. But, since I have never seen any yet I remain a skeptic.
Nothing to be frightened about with the concept of aliens/ufos - I agree that there are probably millions of planets sustaining life at all levels - we're not the only one out there!
What does frighten me as well as one of them may decide this planet is not worthy and blow us up. Anyone got a towel?
I must agree with what has been said more than once by various people on this thread - I am more afraid of the people who are so arrogant and close minded that they think we are the only intelligent life in all of this vast, ever expanding universe than any possibility of alien life.
While agreeing with most of the posts on here, I have no fear of them. I ask myself if they may already be here, blending in with the rest of us. they would need to hide among us, for there are way too many close minded people or those who would want to 'STUDY' them in a lab somewhere.
The movies and books usually portray them as 'evil' and that is the assumption that most people would be under.
So, I guess, i would be affraid for them, not be affraid of them.
Since there really is no definite evidence to prove that aliens/ufo's even exist, other than in fiction, why would you fear it? Personally, I don't fear something that I don't even know for sure exists.
I fear tat tose tat believe will stop at noting to convert oters.. UFO zealots are wat I am afraid will get out of control.. demanding evidence of a cover-up.. requiring military, and government to provide evidence of someting tat doesn't even exist.. even if te goverment came out wit a "full discloser" people tat clinge to suc tings will increase te conspiracy.. tey will seek to be cannonized and eld in asteam by science communities.. ten tey will come-up wit a new elusive topic to "researc" sorry I am missing te key after g ...
I like your POV dabbler, so either the governments really do not have any information whatsoever on Aliens/UFOs so they have nothing to disclose or they are covering up the truth to save the world from mass hysteria.
