What made you interested in vampires or the vampire life style or practice vampire things?
Was it from reading books, hearing legends, music, art, the act of the hunt, TV, DVDs?
Myself, I was always interested in them from the legends and watching dark shadows, when I got older I read that vampires were hunters,
I like the Hollywood stuff because it's something good to watch, though I don’t believe anything from watching a Dracula movie
But this is what got me interested in vampire stuff.
Things of mystery have always interested me since I was a child.
I would have to say reading about the myths and legends, along with watching movies, drew my interest into the vampire world.
I don't believe what I see in the movies, but they make for interesting entertainment.
Dracula the novel...read it the first time when I was around 9 or 10.
ever since i was little i have always been attracted to vampire the vampire episode of scooby doo was my favorite i told my mom when i was like 5 that i wanted nothing but to be a vampire and she got really mad lol never forget that day, i am just naturally attracted to them i guess
it most likey had something to do with my faather. he used to sit me down and have me watch things on vampires when i was little. it just grew from there. we still watch movies and do other things together. so, if wasn't for him i wouldn't know anything about them or anyother creatures of the night.
For me it started with the development, of what was at that time unexplainable, gifts. Simple information searches started pointing me towards vampirism, however with no true understanding with what was happening I became afraid of it and stoped researching and pushed the thoughts of what was happening to the back of my mind, however the gifts would never truly forget me, when my adult teeth came in we noticed that my canines were slightly more dominate in my mouth, at the time i thought nothing of it, until recently I cam across somebody who told me what I had experianced and that it truly was what I was researching, just not the right kind of research, that person led me on in thought to find somebody I could readily contact about questions, in so I found my current teacher, whom is telling me what the truth is, and helping me develop. So in all it was a random act of nature that made me curious into vampires.
I think it was a caculation of all things, from books i have read, the movies and the mystery surrounding the myth. which put me to a whole new reasoning of looking and study lore.
Between movies, books, and my husband. It all seems very interesting.
The first show I saw was Salems lot. that was the start for me thAT DATES me but it was the magic of the powers they could posess. flying and the ability to make people beleave what ever.
I guess Hollywood...showing Vampires in a romantic, beautifully-sensual light
Mine started at a young age when I first read Edgar Allen Poe and got a taste of the "dark" side of literature. I have always had a fascination with horror films and of course I grew up with some of the older ones and Dracula was usually a main character.
I have always been drawn to "dark" things in my life so I guess that is why I am drawn to vampires.
It began when I was a teenager .I saw my first vampire in a movie .The mystery and intrigue of why and if they exist made me want to know more .I am allways up for a puzzle and adventure .The darkness of the creature drew me in .
Starrbright..you make an interesting point that does hit home with me..the mysterious side of them..the secretiveness, the elusiveness, the shadow in the dark. Also they are portrayed as very elegant in most of the movies and books.
Maybe we are drawn to them as they represent a hidden part of ourselves as human beings.
Started with dead things, the undead being a twist on my usual dead thing fascination. Included ghosts, mummies, anything that is dead but animated. Of all reanimated entities, vampires had more flair, and that whole exotic Eastern European smarm. First pre-pubescent eroticism with the blood, mouth, virginal neck combo. Scary.
So in full it is possibly safe to say that much of our thoughts on the vampiric was influence by some sort of media, rather it be "Hollywood" bed-side stories or the like.
Yeah that was it for me --- Along with never wanting to die ......
My mother loved to watch all the classic Dracula movies and so growing up I watched them as well and that started my interest. As I got older I became fascinated with the concept of immortality and the allure that vampires seem to posess.
It all started for me when I was 14 and bought a hard back copy of Bram Stoker's Dracula, for a bargain. I fell in love with Vampires after that. There is something seductive and sexy about them.
When I was much younger, my Grandmother had this old, old book of old vampire legends and folklore. I was completely fascinated by anything concerning vampires since then.
Nothing really. I'm not too interested in vampires to be honest. Nice to read about the stories of them, though.
From the time i could watch tv and movies i got interested in vampires.I have always loved waching the movies as well as being one at halloween.
Watching the old universal classic horror movies as a small child, then reading about Vlad Tepes & Elizabeth Bathory.
Watching those sleek cool looking hollywood vampires. Now they we the good guys. They had all the moves. NOw add the great books out and the dark lure. YUM to vampires.
Actually the 1st movie I saw and remembering seeing was the Dracula movie with my grandpa and it started from there.
Vampires are fascinating to me because of their immortality and their intimidation. But they're cursed. This in itself is why I really enjoy the literature and the media enveloping the concept of them.
That is easy when I was a kid in 1979 I watched the movie Salems Lot and I was hooked from then on.
I've always been intrigued by vampires. However, I think it was the movie Queen of the Damned that truly sparked my interest the most.
i have been interested by lagend.
i think,no creature so complicated as they are.
that why its keep me interesting more than ever.
To me, I guess it was the intrigue of people becoming basically, 'superhuman', or even being immortal and never aging, yet looking seemingly just like everyone else. I always liked watching "Bram Stoker's: Dracula" and "Interview With the Vampire" when I was growing up.
i was turned into one before i ever had any interest in them. a vampire found me and explained how he saw "the Gift" in me and thought i would make an excellent edition to the de Lioncourt family line.
Ever since I was old enough to grasp the concept of the supernatural I have had an interest in it. Whether it be ghosts, big foot, aliens or vampires...I can't really explain why...maybe it's my experiences of past life or something. I even used to lay in my front yard at night and look for U.F.O.s
Im not sure what "got me interested" in vampires. I just remember liking vampire movies since I was real little. Mostly the comedic ones, like Love at First Bite
I have always liked watching vampire movies for the most part... Just brings out a curiosity in me and makes me think of possibilities. So I would say just my natural curiosity has made me interested in Vampires.
i was always by myself and i mostly stayed inside away from everyone and listened to my music. i loved looking at people like Marilyn Manson and Ozzy Osbourne. and after a wile it just was not enough. and i found vampires are beautiful, dark, and in my eyes, perfect.
Honestly I have no idea lol
No one in my family is interested in the supernatural or vampires or anything of the sort but I love it
It might have been that every time my sister would hurt herself we would be outside away from the house and i would just lick the blood so she didn't get it on her cloths and i liked the taste of it....idk
I would say it had to be when I was like a teenager & cut myself & instead of using a band aid I sucked the blood instead. It was just like a natural reaction ya know, cut yourself & kiss the boo boo or suck the blood. LOL
Always been a fan of the movies, TV shows, novels, you name it. It's just a neat concept that I've always found alluring...
Never liked vampires much, but then I started having these gifts appear and started studying about them a few yrs ago and have been cultivating these gifts for years on my own. Then got directed to some vampire sites and started learning and exploring things and figured out that it sounded like me and that is when I got interested in vampires and the study of them.
You know I can't really remember. I think the Lost Boys might have been one of the first vampire movies I have seen.
I remember hanging upside down in my closet pretending to be a vampire. And I used to dream about them too.
just has always been there, that and a fascination with blood
my old foster brother loved them and told me about vampires when i was little and i just kinda fell in love
Deadly Dzire
you are true
even the things started happening with me even before i fell to vampire and dark sites in net.
the true paa-psyhic incidence started occuring and made me worried for family's safety.
this led me to dark world and my vamping dire grown even before fell to vampirism (vampiing dire is not the lust of sex its dire of energies and dark entities)
still i am tracing the peepal who been experienced or experiencing the true parapsychics.
I wish to share their and my experience and join the hqandss in talking over these happenings.
these are not hamful to me its sure shot.
even it helped me twice.
now i am complete vampire coz have done a lot of conscious practice oftenly over the period and senses expansion practice.
what got me interested in vampires for the very first time was watching the film of Dracula and The Interview With A Vampire when I was 8 years old, after that I wanted to read up on as many fictional vampires as I could because the idea behind them was so enthralling and dark.
AngelsMort
Movies and novels at a young age set me flying ** and its been a passion of mine ever since ** bite !! hahah !
For me it was a combination of a lot of things..I will always believe that my mother marked me before I was born it was Feb. 2, 1975 they had scheduled my mother's C-section for the third and had asked that she check herself in to the hospital on the second. So as per Dr. Order she went and checked in. They had already served dinner by the time she arrived so they told her that she could go to dinner and come back.. (boy have things changed now) So instead of going to dinner my mother insited on going to the theater to see Blackula the movie about Black Dracula.. I was born the next morning.. This is ironic to my story because I have two moles on the left side of my neck that are in perfect alignment for bite marks from a vampire lol..
I was drawn into the Hollywood aspect of things as a young child watching all the greats Vincent Price, watching the Dark Shadow movies and then the series as I was Older. Then when I was around 10 or so I started reading everything I could get my hands on that dealt with vampire lore and the mystery behind them.. And so my love for all things Vampiric was born..
my interest in vampirism came from an early age , watching 1970s horror films and re runs of earlier film with bella legosie as dracula, the mystery grew from there then finding out dracula landed at whitby just 40 mins away from my house hightened my interest , then through modern film and then sexual fetish of biting pushed me further! i dont consider myself as vamp but i love the imagery and relate tothe lustful side, specially the biting
Wow...unlike many here, I never really watched the classic vampire movies, unless you count the B vampire movies on Mystery Science Theater 3000....
But I have always been interested in them. I know more than once when I was younger that I would just think about them, even though I really had no idea what they were. I did have natural fangs, although they were shaved down by my orthodontist, and I wish I could go back and change that.
I know this sounds very cliche, but I KNE I was differant than everyone else. I felt older than I really was at the time and what not.
But all in all, always have been, always will be.
I was intrigued with vampires, werewolves and anything from the unknown since I was a child. As I've grown older the same curiousness of the subject still remain.
A lot of things I guess...I don't remember the one specific thing that got me interested in vampires. One of my older sisters has always had a fascination with Vampires so I have always had books and movies filter through my life.
hmm, lets see for me it was the Forever Knight series on TV. That was my first time watching anything with vampires and well it became an interest after watching the Interview with a Vampire.
Vampires are dark and mysterious,
romantic, in their own way,
their need for blood is, in itself strange, but romantic,
taking only what they need to survive,
they dont kill, unless faced with a threat to their life,
their love of fine clothes,
its great.
growing up i watched any and every vampire movie i could i honestly don't know what started my interest as i watched the movies because of the interest not the other way around meaning the movies did not make me become interested in vampires.
i just always felt something about them and could not get past that interest so watched and read what i could for most part.
The mythology of vampires is fascinating. The concept of a human changing into an undead being that feeds on things including the species it used to be is very strange.
The physical idea of taking part of someone into yourself has always been intimate and interesting to me.
The idea of sharing energy with someone is just as intimate.
It's always been that to me.
Humanity lost and a desire to feed replacing it is kinda creepy. We love creepy :P
With me it was the early black and white vampire movies then Dark Shadows, finally I got to read Dracula and was hooked from then on. There is just something so fascinating about a creature that while much like humans but with so many superior qualities then has to depend on a human's blood for their continued existance.
I'm not a vampire, but am attracted to essence of the vampire just the same. I can't explain it fully, but its
something inside of me that draws me to learning about vampires. Don't get me wrong, but theres a sex appeal
among vampires that is very allurring and exotic in
its nature.
I am not a vampire but I have always been attracted things that can't be easily explained. I love the romanticism of vampires and the fear and excitement, I love the mythology and the multitude of horror/adventure/romance, etc, books that are out there and movies too. I love the idea of vampires whether they are real are not (I'm not disputing, I'm just saying I don't know and don't care one way or the other). And of course they are always fun to dress up as for Halloween!!!!
What made me so interested in the vampire myth is the history it has. It has a deep-rooted historical background, mostly in the Balkan region. Take for example: Vlad Tsepesh (though most know him as Tepes or Dracula)- the namesake of the fictitious Dracula. Though Erszebet Bathory seems to be more responsible for the myth than Dracul was. Message me and I'll send you what I have on Bathory....
I don't really exactly know why I have always been drawn to them. I believe it is because I was meant to find out who I really am.
Well, most alternative goth people have interest in vampyres. I was ok about them, not too obsessed at first. Then one night I was hanging out with xtcraver and her swan. she fed that night and i couldn't help but have the sudden urge to ravish in her feeding. i started getting a head rush watching her. she looked over at me and and noticed i liked it... a lot. she turned around and took her razor and cut into me. the pain was so amazing. usually i hate cuts, but this, it was like she knew what she was doing. i could see the evil in her eyes. she started taking my blood. that set off my awakening.
the same thing that made me interested in my Native American culture.............they both got a raw deal.
the Native American in history.
the Vampire in TV and books.
Always thought vampires were cool, even as a kid. I loved horror movies all my life, the gorier the better!
When i was a kid and watching the old movies got me into the vampire legend
I am always been interested in vampires for some reason. Every since I was young I had an interest in them and as I grew so did the interest.
i have this interest in blood disorders. i have had friends with aplastic anemia and also know people who had allergies to iron making them anemic. it is a little bit of an obsession with me, knowing about blood and cells. sometimes i dream about drinking blood and crave raw meat and i know that to be anemia related.
I first became interested in vampires through a love of mythology, then books, then later through film and tv. ...then fiction books. But since i was very small they have always fascinated me.
I always liked death & scary things as a child. But I suppose I'd become interested in Vampires through television, I wouldnt of seen them anywhere else
When I lived in the Ukraine, I went on a trip into Romania and down to Sighisoara.
We went to Vlad the Impalers castle. Someone explained that his title inspired the Dracula novel. Someone else explained that the Dracula book was about vampires. Up until that day I had never heard of such a thing, it made me read every book I could find on them.
Now I am hooked
I'm interested in the history and folklore of Bohemia and the old vampire tales are part of that
I guess my intrest with vampires was born when i was, I have always been fascinated by the darker side of life, my dad always said i thrived on being different. the first book I ever chose for myself when i was 6 years old was dracula, and one of my last memories of my grandfather was showing him my new book, shortly before he died.
I never really watched vampire movies, i am more fascinated by books. guess it means my imagination can run away with me. my dad says i was born goth.
I would have to say that for me it was learning the legends and myths as a child and young adult. Having been raised in a household that encouraged research and reading and asking of questions, I got to look a lot of things up. That alone I think helped spark a life long interest into all things Vampiric.
So really I must thank my mother for this influence on my life. "Thanks Mom!! You're the best!"
dont recall how i first heard of em but i think its the immorality that fascinates me
What didn't make me interested in vampires? I can only say that the archetype is fascinating to me on so many levels. In a personal sense I have a very primal, very physical nature to me...which is caontrasted by a equal interest in intellectual pursuits..(can you tell I'm a Gemini?) Lol... So for me , the vampire is a wonderful example of complimentary opposites...
However, THAT is simply MY vampire... What also fascinates me about this creature is I believe it to be one of the most adaptable of all mythical creatures. One can look at Dracula specifically to find this, which Dracula do you prefer? The suave Lugosi, the vile Nosferatu, the bestial Christopher Lee, the sexy Langella, etc. etc. ......
So I guess for me, the vampire, like any good archetype grants me insight to myslef and to the human condition on the whole....
I am into vampires because i find their lifestyle interesting. I also find them very erotic.
Reading made me interested in vampires. I'd seen movies and other things with vampires in them but I think when I picked up a book about vampires it made me more interested and fascinated with them.
i got so interested with vampires since the very first book that i've ever read is about a vampire... and since then i became a bookworm ,reading various genres of books.
i liked their immortality, elegance, mystery, knoweldge and history dating back to adam, eve and lilith (im very fond of histories)....
this interest was all the more emphasized by anne rice who is a very good novelist (specially with her vampire chronicles), you wouldn't think it is fiction.
i got intertested in vampires because it seemed like there was somthing missing in my life. then my awakening happend and i was fine. i think that the thought of blood dripping down my throat is the best ever
I think I was 11 when I saw the old black & white Dracula on TV; I was captivated. I started reading whatever books I could about vampires but I didn't read Bram Stoker's novel until high school.
I'm less interested in historical accuracies of Vlad Tepes and more interested in folk tales & mythology of vampire archetypes.
due to my awakening as psychic vampyre in dire regard and my quest searching the vampires of psychic nature.
Ever since I was a child I had an affinity for Halloween, horror movies, the Warren Comics, Creepy, Eerie and Vampirella, Dark Shadows, Twilight Zone, Outer Limits, Creature Features and Chiller Theatre--I cannot explain why, but even as a child, vampires have always stood out and I seemed more drawn to them than any other horror "monster".
I suppose many children grow out of their "monster" fascination stage, but I have continued to and will always be drawn to these mysterious creatures of the night. My shelves are filled with books, both fiction and non-fiction, having to do with vampires, lore and history.
I find them all the more intriguing today because of how and why they came to be, how the vampire has inspired the never-ending interest in creating books and movies, as well as the impact and influence they have had on people and lifestyles.
I got interested in vampires through reading. everywhere i read there was always something different about them. Some werent affected by sunlight and some where. some werent afraid of the cross and others were. I joined this site to help me find truth.....and maybe something else...
What interested me in vampires is
I was obessed in knowing if they are sensual
like they are portrade in movies and books
Also if they can love a human or other vampire
And if they can really live forever
i am not really sure how my interest arose. i have always had an interest in ancient history. i love science and facts. i remember when i was in the 6th grade i ran across a book about Vlad the Impaler. it was some sort of biography that went into lore and legend as well as Hollywood. i was fascinated byt the wood cuts of what he did to his enemies but even more i was fascinated by the accounts of his at the time rare blood disorder and the prescribed treatment, bloodbaths. that is where it started.
i don't really go in for the romantic though. to be honest i would rather watch Nicholas Cage lose his mind thinking he was becoming a vampire in "Vampire's Kiss" than watch Interview or Bram Stoker. really i would like to know more history even further back than the most famous of vampires.
i had when i was a child a board game of dracula and vanhelsing anf i love it, i always want to be Dracula os course.
Everything. From the mystery of vampyres to the sheer beauty if vampyres.
I watch some vampire shows and movies. i noticed a sexuality/sensual desire in a vampire. The sexy part was noticed as a I have grown older.
for me it was when my friend gave me the book dracula by Bram Stoker
Halloween. I was a Vampire when I was 5. After halloween I played vampire on a regular basis and chase my sister threatening to drain her of her blood :)
I've been interested in mystical things as far back as I remember, from being engrossed in fairy stories as a small child to Halloween, to vampire movies, to books i've read, to joining websites & talking to people about vampires. I just can't get enough. I guess I just feel it has always been a part of me!
