Changed your life?
has it enhanced your beliefs in some way?
Do you think you've benefitted from VR?
VR has changed my view on the darker side of life.. I've been able to expres my deeper thoughts, and tp vent my anguish, and not be shocking people..
It's tolllerated and accepted..
I mean, I couldn't blog my jourlen on my facebook page as there are a lot of 'normal' people on there that are far more reserved. So VR has helped in that respect.
I've also benefitted from this, and from fiding some new life friends.. Lisa, Jose, Jay, NFA to name a few.
VR is really the only site I go to. Also I have met people that share the same beliefs as me
I enjoy this site very much,Helps me meet people whom are a little odd and don't need to live by everyone's terms of being "Normal"
VR has helped me open up more. To meet more people who are like-minded. It has helped me become more out-spoken.
How has Vampire Rave Changed my Life
It has made me more aware of Information and Facts abouts Vampires, Introduced me to different types of people and there different types of lifes
I truly feel it has Opened my Mind
Forever a Humble
Coven Sister of Lux
Mentor of The Path of Darkness
PrincessChild
I don't necessarily know more about vampires than I did a year ago, but VR has given me more confidence about my photography & my offbeat sense of humor.
I also have friends around the country & around the world. THAT has been an unexpected bonus.
oh, and VR is forcing me to learn more about CSS coding which is helping me with my web design projects.
Excellent forum string, as there is no right or wrong answer.
VR has given me an outlet for what I have been feeling and have been interested in my whole life. I really appreciate and respect other's thoughts and beliefs and its so diversified here! Meeting others from around the world and seeing a different light on so many subjects that interest me has been exhilarating.
Thank you Cancer for creating this site!
1) VR allows me to express aspects of my personality which I must keep "under wraps" in my day to day "corporate" life.
2) I have met some of the greatest people in the world!
3) I have witnessed so many facets of the pshychology of groups through the reactions of the membership of VR to various changes and applications of VR policy.
4) I have learned how to be much more diplomatic in communicating with people.
Vr has helped me a lot I am no longer alone there are people here more off their rocker then I am.I find this a great comfort because for many years I was the one people thought needed a straight jacket.
Bullet format.
VR has:
• Helped me learn HTML.
• Helped me learn CSS.
• Helped me realize some loons actually do think they're vampires.
• Given me a site that is sometimes worth going on.
• Given me all the more reason to not believe in anything supernatural.
• Solidified the fact I am more intelligent/mature than a great number of people on here.
Not sure if the good are more shown to me than the bad.
Vr is the only site I go to for the people and friends I have met here are great and the discussion in the forum adds to the knowledge of the vampire lores and community.
VR has changed my life as to how many friends I have and how I spend my spare time (which I have plenty of, as I do not like to bog myself down with meaningless duties).
I have learned a few new things about vampires and what people believe about the idea.
My beliefs? They have not changed (and never will). I was raised Christian (not catholic) and if VR has done anything, it has made my faith in Christ a little stronger.
VR has changed my life in the aspect that I have met people here who don't look at me like I am crazy, and like many people have said, share my beleifs and such.
I too am amazed at how many friends I have on here, as most people tend to ignore me.
It has also helped me realize my true self, and to accept it and not run from it.
VR is my fav site there's more convos going on here, i find people share their thoughts more, i like the journals
I met the love of my life on this site. And now we are living together and engaged to be married :)
I also met some other people that helped me learn more about myself and vampyrism, which has deffinately changed the way I am in life.

Although I have been an internet user since its invention, this is my first online community. I was a part of a small Yahoo Group for writers (still am)... but that's it. I had a MySpace account, but I never used it for it's forums or anything like that.
Actually... I was a chat room supervisor for AOL in the late 90s. They called them 'Guides'. I had certain hours I monitored various 'rooms'. I don't consider it the same as a place like VR, though. Here there's so much more to offer in regards to the space you can customize and the groups you can create. Plus, we have specific themes.
For me, it has garnered me far more friends across the miles :)
VR is helping me learn and grow. I like the discussions here. Lots of great opinions and input from everyone with different new perspectives instead of just one teachers thoughts, like in school.
It has helped me understand a few things I had questions about, I have met a few Ppl here whom I would like to meet and hang out with , then a few whom I could care less..There are Ones who share similar interests as me and isnt non believers who down You each time You turn around....
I like to come here for a good 'heated discussion', but I don't think, in all the years I've been on here, that I've gained anything good or bad.
It's been interesting for me. I've learned a lot of things. Things I already knew or expanded on but also things I didn't know. I've also made numerous friends that have come and gone. People I may never have met otherwise and have become great friends with. When I originally joined this site over 3 years ago I didn't know what to expect. And now I'm glad I stayed around all this time :)
Well this is my first "online community" I started out in the aol chatrooms in Ask a Witch back in the late end of the 90's, met some wonderful people with whom I am very close to still. Here on VR it has broadened my horizons on different things. There are many here with whom I have become very close to over the last 2.5 years, sure there has been drama but your gonna have it where ever you go , you just learn how to steer away from it.
when i first came here over a year and half ago alot about me has changed. not all of it because of VR but it played its role. i beleive i did become more open minded, but i have learned ALOT since then. there may be a few things i would do differently but when it comes down to it i have always enjoyed my time here with all my new found friends
For me, VR is an interestign little microcosm...
on high speed mode.
I think that how a person feels about VR is a pretty good measuring stick to where we are in our personal development.
...for me it is like an epiphany generator.
Actual bursts of laughter is probably my greatest gift from VR, probably because I find black humour easier to laugh at than a tv sitcom.
Me, too, re the humor, even when it's unintentional. Mostly I get a kick out of myself.
It's been a vehicle to think deeper about vampires, and hence matters of life and death.
VR has opened my eyes and mind considerably to the world. That there are more people out there with similar beliefs, thoughts, ideals and dreams.
I sure as hell have learned a lot more about vampires and types of vampires than I once use to know :D
How has vr changed me... well I have been able to find like minded people and connect to people that I wouldn't normally meet in my own world.
I have learned more about my darker self and to just embrace her evil little nature.
I always was half open minded half closed so that part of me hasn't change. :D
I've met a lot of people with mutual interests.
I really love it here.
I'm going on my third year of being a member now. :)
I have found people on VR, that have become my closest friends, and have helped me through and through. They changed my life, for the better.
I, like MBK, learned HTML & CSS.
VR has changed my life, because the muscles in my clicky finger are much stronger from rating.
I have found that VR hasnt changed my life as it is just a website. but what it has done for me is making new friends that are like minded!
VR has helped me to meet many people who have the same view about things I couldn't really talk about to my circle outside of VR.
VR in many ways has been my muse. From reading journals, meeting people to just watching social interactions of others.
I have gained real life friends.
Several times where I would have altered who I am for norms, I have been reminded of what I truly like and want to be like.
The differing perspectives here have allowed a level of self reflection, even when I don't intend to self reflect.
Imagination, the world it truly mine to wander when I log on. What world- egads I have no idea, but that childlike creativity begs to be let loose when I spend time here.
Are these things truly VR's doing? No. But the inspiriation of it, gives it the title of Muse and in doing so, keeps me here.
VR has trigger me into getting back into writing, which I enjoy.
I think the VR is a good place it is the only place i come to
I like the ppl here and also it has helped me be more me
Also i have learned things about covens and ect
VR was just what I was looking for. For an online community, I think it has helped me immensely. I can express what I really want to say, and nobody cares. I was searching for people that...well I guess that "don't fit in" because the night life for me was boring and people irritating.
I've only been here for about 8 months now, but I have met the most wonderful people and formed wonderful friendships and bonds, and hope to find more.
It's just nice to be able to talk to someone that knows what you're talking about....dark side and all.
I can finally be myself and meet ppl like me. i have met alot of people i can call my friends . Though i see the whole site as being my family. For everyone has helped me in some way. i dont really have to worry about seeing my account being constantly deleted do to the fact of my beliefs and for who i am .
this may seems corny but why do i care.
It is not power that i seek but the knowledge that to me seems more important to me to be known for how hard i work to accomplish my dreams.I seek some answers i seek to help those in need . I seek to help VR as much as i can even if i fail the acolyte test more then anyone on VR has will i give up no and i will still help the site and the members. This site i have learned alot from ive met alot of people who are kind and respectfull towards me most who have things in common with me. Theres no such thing as having to much knowledge. For i can learn something from everyone. I seek answers that are beyond this world. Till then my body will never give up even when i die from age . My soul will wander this world still searching for all the answers to my questions. I thank everyone on the site for making the site the way it is Cancer has done a wonderfull job in creating this site i thank him. For all the members in the site who have joined i also thank you.for if it wasnt for the members thee would be no VR. Me and my friend hope someday we can meet some of the members of VR and those in which it may seem impossible i hope we can be friends or even family. Thank you.
It hasn't changed my life and like Thoth i haven't really learned anything new about vampires in general that i've already known......but i do enjoy the friendships ive made and being able to share the "darker" aspects of my life and experiences here.
It's given me a place as well as Thoth to air my somewhat warped sense of humor that most of the real life peeps I know would look at me as if I had just defiled a statue of the Virgin Mary :P
I've also learned about trusting people and NOT trusting people on here ;)
Well I have learned more about vampires actually and have made a bunch of great and wonderful friends here from all over the world who in turn have shared their lives with me and taught me about the places they are from. Also I've found some new great authors from the Database as I love to read.
But the biggest thing is that I have met and fallen in love with someone here on VR and in September they will be moving in with me and I'll be starting a whole new chapter of my life, can't wait.
i would have to say that vr has given me a way to show the world what truly hides inside my mind i mean really how many people in the world would understand how some of feel in side the way we live our life. i know alot of people would say we are crazy but not here. this is truly a place i feel welcomed too.
I will say that it hasnt changed my life much expect that I have met and dated two sires on here outside of here. Other than that it has opened my mind to the darker network of twisted people that are like minded myself. it is a place that a bunch of loners can get together in one place or you can have a groupd of friends together in one place together. In that aspect of VR it offer many choises for people and im glad to be a part of this place.
All the answers are terrific!
Some have even found love?
Could it really get any better than that?
I love the release VR allows me to have. The freedom of expression.
The freedom to mingle, to learn, to grow.
In a way yes, I've found a site where I write about anything in my journal, something that I don't do on other sites.
I have met some really amazing people thanks to coming back to this site.
So in a round about way VR has changed my life, lol. But thanks to the fantastic people I have met. I have also done more with my life thanks to these people, including braveing a train journey to meet one of them, lol.
It has also allowed me to find myself again, and start creating more of myself
The VR has increased my understanding of others belief. Even though many share the same general belief, their individual belief is different.
My life really hasn't changed. i am the same person online that I am offline, although I have met some wonderful people here.
It's brought my family closer. It's given me a place to write my stories, chat with others, and just have a good place to relieve the daily stress. There's no place like it.
VR has allowed me a space for me to talk about the things that a lot of more "mainstream" people would find strange or odd.
Intellect, and more importantly, respect is plentiful here, so I know I will not be instantly just attacked for having a different opinion that the majority, though I DO try to back up my positions with valid reasons.
it has become a big part of my life
no matter how hard I tried to escape it
I keep coming back
but now I hope for a peacful stay
VR has a addicting allure
and I enjoy the addiction;]
VR has given me real relations with people and had has given me three romance's
including my current sweetheart
for the record
I don't just VR for dating
but it happens
I have a love for vampires and learning its lore
they are creatures representing power and a long dark past
a curse which they relive over and over
some of my closest friends i have ever had is here
and yes I mean I know them in person lol
this place has been like family to me
no matter how much a ass I have been
they kept giving me another chance
and for that
I would like all to know who dwell here
thank you for everything
I believe it's made me more open minded.
I know it's made me aware there's so much in the world that I don't know or even imagine exists.
I am more comfortable talking to people I've never met before and enjoying it.
I love the diverese group that's attracted to this site and have made some really great friends here.
I love VR for a variety of reasons. For one, it is a place where one can feel welcome, and not be ridiculed for being who or what they are.
I have been introducd to many one here through the years whom I would love to meet in person. People who would be far more interesting than the typical herd sheep I have come to know.
As far as the internet it is the only place I enjoy visiting and if not the only.
I am who I am , the site has not changed me , who I am , nor my life, but it has given me a place to come and relax.
Other than shoving html and css down my throat (finally, i needed a little shove) it's helped me get closer to the ones i care about through shared projects.
Vampire Rave has expanded my horizons. I have learned quite a bit about the mythology and evolution of vampires throughout history. I am part of the trend that seems to be exploding across the country with the Twilight and Trueblood fans. Of course, I was long a member before either of those two modern day pop hits surfaced.
Not to mention that there are some very warm and incredible people who grace Vampire Rave. It's a virtual haven for me when the world does not accept the darkness that resides within.
I first bought a computer in November of 2004. A few days later I found and joined Vampire Rave. Since then I have met many friends I have enjoyed talking to both online and over the phone, I have learned about HTML from a link posted by Sabastion I believe(who was an excellent 5x5x5 player for those who remember), and I've learned the right and wrong way to act online from observing and interacting with more people then I can recall.
Vr has helped me to clear up a few things, and see the perspective of others.
become more open minded an have met some wonderful people
VR has helped me realize that everyone is unique. I have leanred so much..and made so many new friends. Some who i have even met in real life. They keep me sane during the day and during my times of need.
things would not be the same in my life if i had not met these people.
It has helped me open up more, and help me feel less like a freak and know that i do belong somewhere.
Final;ly I feel free to tlka about my vampire life and hear others stories.
VR has gave me knowlege and insight on subjects i was unlcear about.. I have made lots of friends whom are similar to myself and folks here are a wide varity and so there is no lack of conversation.
Actually I met my fiance on here. We have a daughter.
Other then that I am learning more about my abilities and how to control them and I am also making new friends.
VR puts a smile on my face, never wanted to go prem, never wanted to go lifetime....This dam site made me do both! I love the Rave more now than I did back in the good old days. I lurked for about three months before I joined.
I have been a member here for over three years now and I have lurked for about two of those years, logged in and lurked by sometimes not logging in. I have read many many journals and never spoken to some of the people whose journals I read....sorry people your just too scary *smiles*
So many great and different minds here, I have written to people all over the world, some I would like to meet.
What have I learned.....Most Americans do actually have a sense of humour, it's just a little different to British humour lol Well I have also learned to chill about what I believe in a little more now, and it is interesting reading about what other people believe in.
Going to learn about HTML and coding....think I will have to!
Wow...Nice question. Now the answer is VR is not changing my life, I do probably change VR. I use VR as a place to relax, have a good time and enjoy the time. For others, and trust me, there are plenty, VR is just another drama, no different then the life away from the Rave. So, If I never join, I probably never meet someone like you. And never feel the kindness of your heart and the purity of your soul.
The VR hasn't really changed my life. But it has introduced me to lots of other people that I can relate to. You don't find people like us in Valentine, Ne.
I don't feel like such an odd-ball here.
VR is pretty much the only site I use now. I am constantly on here talking to people, posting, and writing in my journal. I can openly express myself here and know that no one will judge me based on it, as they do where I am. I fit in here, and have made friends who I understand where I am coming from, what I am dealing with, and my beliefs. I can be me here, and know that I am accepted for who I truly am. It also allowed me to meet my best friend here who is like a big brother to me, and we have been able to gain members for our circle as well. This is definitely one of those sites that I can call home for me.
VR has become a home for me. It is full of people that I am friends with and those that I love. It has opened me up to new discussions and new ideas. Taught me that we are all different but can coexist with each other. I have learned different things that can be applied in my life outside of VR and has, I believe, made me a stronger and more confident person.
Last January, I joined in hopes of finding a young vamp. that had visited me in my dreams quite a few times, but, that is all im saying about that...
V.R. is amazing. I am freakin' addicted!!
Seriously. I love this website, where I can just let it all out to the very close friends i've made from the site.
But that's just it- this is more than just a website, isn't it?
Well, DUH
It's changed my life in that I see more about my past in a way that I may not have seen before and helped clear things up with my past. I've made several friends on VR.
I know I have benefited on VR by making the friends that I have and now in the mentorship that I am in. I feel more at home here on VR than most places on the outside where i'm not really understood when it comes to what i like when it comes to Vampyres,Werewolves, Jersey Devil,Mothman etc. Here on VR nobody discrminiates about it.
I have learned more about my love for the dark side being here. Have made many great friends.
I suppose it is teaching me to ignore those that like play games and make judgements without really knowing you.
I have no regrets being here.
It is a place I can discuss or face thoughts and ideas that might be uncomfortable to discuss elsewhere.
I have found a place I feel accepted for who I am most of the time
I have found a website that I enjoy so much that I gave up on myspace & all the others
I have learned some basic html & css coding
I have made some very good friends
VR has given that dark side of myself (that I have always had to keep hidden) an identity & a place to live & grow
I've learnt alot on VR.....mainly about things to do with the supernatural by reading the forum threads people post, there great to read :)
This is one of my fav sites i go on.....i would feel abit lost without it strange i know. But i have met so many great people on here who i care about very much now :)
I don't think it has really changed me as a person to be honest, but i do feel i have became more open-minded and i have learnt to express myself better :) But yes VR rocks hehe! :)
VR has changed me becouse of all the things on here about the occult and many wonderful people and there stories.
I've met a lot of great people! I love it here because as a rule, no one judges. I have come across a few who think they are greater than sliced bread, but you get that any where. All in all, my timem on VR has been great!!
Changed? Not sure it did, but I met some good people here. Over the past year going to this site had quickly become an addiction and not only did I meet some interesting friends here but also met my girlfriend through the site. I never thought it would've been anything more than checking it out then moving on like I have with others but I like it here.... no really, I REALLY like it here.
It's changed my life is subtle ways and in ways I may not realize yet.
ya i think is a place to open people up to what the believe in and disbelive in.
Yes it helped me a lot meet friend with like interests, can talk freely about myself and it is great to learn new things on stuff i was unclear about..
vr has alowed me to be myself i don't scare people away it also lets me pretend to be something im not
fascinating answers...
I believe in the butterfly effect.. each action or thought creates a ripple, and follow on effect..
Thats why i tend to believe VR could change all of your lives to a degree, even if just a little...
Think about it
I've learned alot coming here, and still learning.
I love the threads with new links to explore things I never knew exhisited. And teachings from others that I would never have the privilage of without them providing it here!
I recommend this site to everyone that talks to me of any related issue I have learned from here.
I only wish we had unlimited access to Mentor groups. Then we would have real open exploration from those Mentors!
I just love VR. For many reasons but the main one is that i feel like i belong here. Your not afraid to express yourself
VR has given me a chance to make some really nice friends. Its nice to be able to drop by and know people. I have also learned a lot about the Vampire culture, and the different views of others.
vr has changed things for me beyond my expectation..
i have many nre firends and viseted places in the world that would have been off my holiday list ,, just to meet up with ppl ,,
its a site that so far i have found to be tolerant and open to all ,, but also and i think this is an important fact for me,,
i think it is still exclusive and off the mainstream,, its small enough to be intimate and friendly..
VR has changed my life in many ways.I have learned alot over my two years on this site.I have learned alot about vampires, Alot about things that go bump in the night.I have also learned how to bump back.I have also learned alot about life and about love.I met the woman i love on this very site and i will always be greatful for it.
The only thing i can say is that it's been one hell of a ride and i hope it keeps on going.
it change me by meeting people and learning alot what i want to learn
IT has allowed me to meet others like myself. To be with my own find and my new friends and family. And to be able to express my opinion with out aggravation, debate yes but thats fun and also educational not criticism.
Well, i met a husband thru here...and a sig other after him...
and 2 out of 3 ex husbands have had accounts here...
so vr is my longest lasting relationship lol
it must be all the different skins i can put on it..
If 2 out of 3 of your ex husbands have had accounts on here and you met one of these through the Rave, then you must be doing something seriously wrong. Oh the naive individuals.
.. for my own reasons, which the Minx may know of, this is my social networking site, where I've seen facets of people I understand.
I've 'wasted' at least 59.13 days of my life here in the last 29 months!!!
I wanted to meet a vampire girl who would bite me but that has never happened so its been a disappointment to me. Talked about anime to a lot of people though and got a penfriend. Still no biter. Sigh.
Was there a hint of rhetoric and sarcasm in that post?
Not sure at this point.
Site sure has changed in the two years I was abroad!
VR has enabled me to meet people with similar interests to mine. It is a 'safe haven' for those who relish in the darkness
personally i think this site is awsome and i'm from the bible belt i live in North Carolina and all i've found was a bunch of fucking up tight rednecks that arn't into the shit i am and now i've found this site and can talk and hang with some people that i think are cool
Through the pain and pleasure here on VR *grabs at heart*, I find the knowledge I have gained invaluable... Honestly speaking, I have come across people that I can only dream of talking to..
And to be able to exchange a few words with some of you has made me feel completely at home... being the schizophrenic weirdo that I am, I feel happy...
It has definitely changed my life, to say the least..
Till it lasts!
*smilez*
I totally agree with what "Prophecy" had to say, NICE.
I also found my fiancé on here, we've been together over 3 years now and have a beautiful daughter together, if it wasn't for VR, I wouldn't be a father today.
Other than that it hasn't really changed my life that much.
