Do you wear a symbol, of some sort, to connote your beliefs to your Kindred?
If so, what symbol do you wear?
I'm still askin.. as I found some of those responses darn interesting..

A reminder that this thread may be shut down for violating the 30 days clause for repeat threads of the same nature...
A perusing of the VR manual would come into play here regarding said 30 day clause.

I think in my opinion this thread should be safe as it is a continual of its original that seemed to be doing quite well. If another Dominar disagrees with me it will be at their judgment.
I have a few things that I consider symbols of myself.
* I have my nickname tattooed on the back of my neck in kanji.
* I am on the path of becoming a Druid by religion, and have a Celtic moon tattooed on my left arm, and although its not WORN per say on my body I carry my stone bag with me everywhere I go.
* I wear my lock and chain round my neck everywhere to the point it feels unnatural to not have it on. It is just symbolic of me and who I am so to say.
* I also have a garnet ring that is oddly shaped and the band bit is silver. Garnet being my magical birthstone so to say.
Not a Symbol wear kind of person, not that there aren't any I like, i just do not wear any.
∙I have my pentacle, Its vintage brass (My metal) Shown here, one side with vines, other side with wheat, with moons and stars around the outside. Brass tarnishes easy so im always cleaning and charging it. I wear on a silver rope chain.
∙I wear A white gold Daisy ring (Daizy is my name)
∙I have a butterfly tat on my hand represents my free spirit.
∙I wear 2 magnet and copper bracelets on each wrist at all times, I wear handmade (by me) Copper rings, some made with magnetic hematite.

A pentragram to honor my Wiccan faith.....and for protection!
The Egyptian Ankh, and the Wiccan pentagram for knowledge and protection.
vvsoulshroudevv ~ it was oh-so- kind of you to remind me od the rules, which I'm aware already of.
[I always figure if STAFF here don't like what I write, they'll tell me.. ] though as you so helpfully point out vvsoulshroudevv, there is a possibility they might.
As it happens, thankfully people like the thread, so respond.. which brings me to my own thoughts..
I have taken to wearing naught but my Ankh, as if I kinda want to emphasise my connection to The One.
I have a tattoo on my forearm of a dagger with a banner saying Lux Nox as a representation of my belief in the inherent duality in all things.
Other than I have 2 quartz pendants and a hematite ring I wear but those are more practical and less symbolic.
A long time ago when I was a teenager, a friend of mine drew a bleeding heart for me. It was a symbol of how I felt then that same design has been since done as a tat on my shoulder.
I have a turquoise ring that my mother and I bought when I was 18. I have been through hell and back with that ring. When my mother passed away I punched a wall with that hand and it messed up the ring so its now put up. That ring was my pride(still is) and it has another purpose, of Native American belief, that I won't discuss here .
I wear a medicine bag or mojo bag, with stones in it for grounding, protection. The bag is hand made of leather.
Usually, I wear two pendants one with a moonstone and the other with a blood stone. These are my connections to the moon and Mother Earth.
I wear an ankh and usually some form of celtic knot work.
Lovely story Spiritwalker.. I wonder if you write.. ??
Am off to find out!
I wear a pentacle that I have charged for protection, and it is silver so i am always buffing it and charging it
I also have a ankh tattoo'd on my back
ForeverBlack, i totally just got an autobot symbol on my rightwrist and decepticon on my left lol
i have a goddess necklace that i will wear. i also have a dragon tattoo on my leg. its for protection. also it helps me to keep in contact with my dragon guide..
I used to wear a pentacle before I burnt it out. I should really get a new one. But I firmly believe that it could store and produce your own energy. Believe in something hard enough you force it to be true. Mind over matter. I believe it offers some protection to the person wearing it. Just because they believe it does. I feel that it gives me the real belief that I'm a part of the religion and shows that I'm not afraid to show it.
I should really start focusing back on it as I've let it fade away in the back of my mind for the lack of being able to do it.
.. burnt it out? Hmmm, "research!"
.. made no sense to me. Rats, I hate that!
Burnt out meaning it can no longer hold any energy. Comes from usualy avoiding doing your rituals thus emptying the vessal that is contained with in.
Ok I would like to know here instead of starting a new thread... If you wear a symbol do you feel that it is what keeps you safe or whatever, and if you do not wear or have it with you than do you feel that your life or spirit etc. faulters because of it?
I mean I do not wear symbols of anything, not that I do not believe in something, yet, I do not wear symbols for that. Many I know do and also have tattoos of a symbol that represent things to them, doe it make you feel better and if you did not have them do you feel your life would be worst or?
Bottom line why do you wear them? To give you power, peace of mind etc.
I hope that it was ok I asked that here Angelus, and not opening a new thread. yet, I could. LOL
I just bought myself a new symbol to wear...we shall see if it feels right though.
It is a ring and pendant set with eclipse stones...
.. good question: my Ankh gave me a feeling of completeness, the first time I wore it.
.. I hope that's an answer for you??
If others could annswer Masquerade Doll's enquiry, it does fit well within the remit of this thread..
So.. please do..
I usually do different symbols every week... depends on how I feel, and what I want to feel. I have about 10 symbols which I am considering... plus the blacklight scarab beetles running up the centre of my back. It should look more or less like thisin the blacklight, but the symbols will be different. This was done for Saturnalia.

I have a Celtic cross (ring) in silver on my left hand, I have a crescent moon sigil on my back (the sigil of light). I also wear an ankh and I have a pentagram necklace both in silver.
My boyfriend and I are getting matching sigil's tattooed on our arms, one he drew as the sigil of protection.
well thank you angelus, I know my daughter wearsa necklace that her Gmother gave her(my mom) she was full blooded American Indian and she believed in certain stones that meant many different things just as she believed that if you kept a buckeye or a piece of cabbage (wrapped of course) in your purse, wallet, pocket etc. that you would always have money and well she did and so did my father etc. So that is why I asked the question as to if it made you feel a certain way. (I am also MD)
I think many believe that a certain object or symbol holds alot of power and well hey I am not one to knock it I just don't is all LOL
Thank you for thr response to the question. :)
I feel no matter what you believe in as a symbol
it will have the power to protect but have to believe in that. a stone off the street someone finds if truly have faith in it protecting you its going to . Thanks
My symbol is a nomads type symbol, the squatters symbol, not so much magic, as it is a declaration of freedom from land conformity. I am considering a koko Pellie brand, as I am not to fond of ink based tattos.
Dabbler please correctme if I am wrong yet, is that not a Fertlity Deity. or am I thinking of something different LOl :)
Koko, is a feirtility figure.. though the figure is represented in many trade cultures.
In support of Nyteshade's post, I remember an episode of Dr Who: The Curse of Fenric
when a soviet soldier used his revolutionary insignia to repel the vampire-like creatures [Haemovores] his faith being in the socialism he stood for, just as a religious type might have faith in his chosen deity.
I wore a Hammer (Odinism) for awhile, and I learned how ignorant most fundimental christians are.
I have heard this from friends that are Odinist as well, the Fundies assume it is satanic somehow. Sadly this is also the case for Pentagrams.
In some small towns wearing an Anke can make one a target for gossip. A girl in Desce was threatened with suspension for wearing a pentagram to school, after other students (bullies) told facilty that she was "cursing" them. If I had a dime for every fundamentalist that said.. "you are going to hell, and I will pray for you." crosses in school..no problem.. but pentagrams?.. OUTRAGE!!
The ankh...sometimes a small silver necklace and/or earrings.
I also wear two gold chains sometimes; one has the bust of Nefertiti, and the other is of King Tut.
I know that I had a desire to get mine for a while and when I finally did it just felt right. Now the thought of not having it is just wrong. I originally got it as an expression of myself and a belief I hold but it is also a part of me in more than that it is inked in my skin.
i always wear rings that symbolize nature
i have leaves, butterflies, scarabs, spiders.... etc etc
to me they represent my closeness with nature and all creatures
I wear a silver pentagram ring for protection. I do have six tattoos but they are just and expression of myself.
I have four tattoos that not only represent an importance to me but also do stand for symbols. Especially my triple moon goddess symbol as I've always felt a connection to the moon and the night. But I also wear my grandmother's wedding ring my mother let me have after she died and I hard ever take it off. Same with my gold ring that's lined all the way around with rubies that's really old and the silver Celtic knot with an emerald embedding in it. When I don't wear them I just don't feel right. Like something's missing. Also I always wear a choker with a silver cross safety pinned to it and a couple of silver earrings clasps. Usually one on each ear. The earring clasps tend to help keep my energy balanced and the cross on my choker to disperse negative energies. I also tend to carry a quartz crystal and a blood stone wherever I go too.
Used to have a pentagram ring but it broke.
I have tattoos of spirit animals that I have bonded with
These symbols are more personal in nature than to portray a message to others
It reminds me of the things that are important to me
.. on my left bicep is a woman kneeling side on, tastefully nude, with a cats head.
.. after one cheating fiancee, it seemed appropriate.
.. after two, it seemed to scream out, for me.
"Crimson Chains will be my guide, in deepest despair, lies will abide"
As it stands, I have an altered eyeglasses cord in the style of a length of red chain-link.
It is a personal symbol I will not divulge to anyone, save only my inner-most workings. It can aid only me, for it is a contract I keep unspoken.
A small gold Ankh that I had given my Mom and now I wear it. Also, I have been wearing a small leather pouch with a tiny hamster in it. =)
i wear a collada (i know its spelled wrong. i don't care)
i believe it symbolizes my faith in love. it is real and i will have it..... eventually. hehe
I always carry with me my pentagram and also my goddess chain which is
The Mother, The Maiden, The Crone
I have the following:

and

tatted one one side inside of another design.
I also wear a FAT hemp choker with a 50 yen piece and a triangle cut out of a drum set cymbal.
The choker is my thing.
The links that hold the symbols to the choker are from the chin chain that held on our shako's.
The triangle piece of cymbal is a particular drum line tradition. Using a cymbal used in the season just passed, small triangles are made for each drum line member. The triangle is the symbol of the corps we marched.
The fifty yen piece was given to all the drum line members by Fuji, the stellar Japanese snare chick that came over to march with us that summer.
I have a jade tear drop pendant for wisdom and strength.
I have quite a few symbols that I wear.
1st- My claddaugh ring. I wear it because it symbolizes 3 different things. Loyalty, Friendship, and Love. I believe in all 3.
2nd- I have a triquetra tattoo'd on my lower bock for the body, mind, and spirit. I am very intune with my spirit.
3rd- I have a Crescent moon and star tattoo'd on my right hip. To me it means that you can never walk in the dark without a little light.
4th- I have the Konji symbol for love tattoo'd on my left wrist because I believe in love as a powerful emotion. It can break us or make us.
5th- I have a Nautical Star with vine work tattoo'd on my left shoulder blade as if it's a shooting star. It symbolizes that my wishes and dreams can come true.
Last- I have a Fairfax County police badge and a set of dog tags tattoo'd on my right shoulder blade to symbolize that my 2 grandfathers will always be with me no matter what. They are always a part of who I am.
I have an inverted pentagram tattoed on my chest. I also have 666 tattooed on me.
jamie you actually carry a live hampster around in a pouch LOL I have one but I do not carry him with me.
Well I see everyone has some kind of symbol that means something to them , I wish I could get into somthing that I feel I need to have with me all the time, Ye,it is hard for me to believe symbols carry protection or a reminder of something. I admire you all who do.
I have a few small things. I have a Satanic rosary made for me by my fiancée, I have a necklace with the Goat of Mendez, I am planning on getting the Baphomet tattooed on my back as well as this tribal demon I found. The one thing I always have on me, is an inverted cross burned into my left arm.
I wear a star that is a symbol of my belief. Most people never even notice it but I know it is there.
.. am back to wearing the Ohm symbol earring, feels right.
I have actually stopped wearing a symbol. On occasion I will wear a crystal for protection or for healing purposes. I just feel I don't need to wear anything right now. I may change in the future.
In the past I have worn a Celtic cross with an amethyst in the centre, and before that a dragon. But now I feel the need to go unadorned. :)
i wear a pentagram it represents balance and feminen power to me. and my elements are fire and water.
to each his own... i agree with whoever said that the clauddagh stands for more than just love, but friendship and loyalty also.
I used to wear a St. Christopher's medallion...Long ago.
I have worn an Egyptian Ankh for the last 15 years and am rarely seen without one on for any reason. I am highly attracted to it. I don't feel right if I don't wear one now.
I have a severe affinity for cats too, but don't read anything too drastic into that.
I used to wear an ankh necklace and to me it symbolized that life is eternal and everybody lives on in some form or plane of existance.
i wear a pentacle to show my wiccan faith and dragons to show my nature
I do not count My tattoos in this context . I predominately wear an inverted cross . To be more specific I wear an Sterling silver inverted Danzig cross . Why ? Well I despise christians and it merges My love of Metal with My beliefs . I at times have worn a pentagram and a Baphomet . It seems though that the Danzig cross is more ,,,,, Me .
I wear the symbols of my Craft , a moon ring and a Moonstone ring with The moon symbols around it , a BLESSED Be NECKLACE WITH a SILVER OWL , And a Celtic Cross.
I have a sterling silver cross that has ornamental inlays and a blue stone set in it's "heart" my grandmother gave it to me when I got baptized 14 years ago. lol I only take it off to sleep. lol I'm afraid I will break the chain. lol
I also represent The Fam. A.K.A. my Psychopathic crew. A.K.A. the Family of Oddities with various Hatchet Men here and there on belts, wallets, necklaces, and mainly, shirts and hats.
I also would agree with JGPOLGOH that the Claddagh as more meaning that that of just love. I site Wikipedia.
"The Claddagh's distinctive design features two hands clasping a heart, and usually surmounted by a crown. The elements of this symbol are often said to correspond to the qualities of love (the heart), friendship (the hands), and loyalty (the crown). The expression which was associated with these symbols in the giving of the ring was: "With my two hands I give you my heart, and crown it with my loyalty." Yet, the expression, "Let love and friendship reign forever" can be found as another meaning for the symbols.
The way that a Claddagh ring is worn on the hand is usually intended to convey the wearer's romantic availability, or lack thereof. The ring is worn on the right hand with the heart facing outward to show that the wearer is not romantically linked but is looking for love. When turned inwards, it is shown that the wearer is in a relationship, or their heart has been "captured". Noting that the heart is pointing down the hand and into the veins which lead to the wearer's heart. The ring worn on the left hand with the heart facing outward shows the wearer is engaged; turned inward indicates the wearer is married."
I have a sterling silver Claddagh ring but I don't wear it now. It was a pre-engagement gift we gave to each other. I have no tattoos and don't plan on getting any. I do on occasion wear Bloodlines International's vampyric ankh. I don't interact with them anymore, not for years and they may now be defunct. I really don't know but I like the ankh.
Pentacles are very old symbols. They are for protection and don't really belong to any one faith or organized group. I love them but I won't wear them because people will think I am either Satanic or Wiccan and I am neither and don't want to get into long explanation conversations with people. I have no problem with the two groups it is just that you know how people are about asking questions about things that are different. I love crosses too which predate Christianity. I am not Christian but I love wearing them of all types. At one time I wore a symbol of Macha all the time. I haven't worn it in awhile.
I wear a fairy necklace that I've only taken off for xrays and once for a week to give her to my girlfriend at the time. Who gave her back. I've had her almost 7 years now.
A ring that has the Skull and Crossbones on it, and the Biohazard on the back of my neck (not yet, but its gonna b my 18th birthday present to myself! yay me! lol.)
I have an Inverted cross burned into my arm and a Baphomt necklace. Which I believe I stated before. NOW, I am also working on have Demonic sigils tattooed all over my body, so far I have 64 to get applied.
I have the Dark Mark of Asetians tattoo'd on the back of my neck
I also have a tattoo of The Tibetan Reiki Masters of which I am one and a tattoo of a Tri quetra which is the symbol of my family, all my family have on boys on their right wrists and girls on their left wrist
I also where a silver tri quetra ring and a pentagram ring too
I agree that I won't count my tattoos, because even though I chose them and designed them for personal significance, it's not like I have to remember to put them on each day. Whereas, my jewelry is a pleasure to put on each day because it's almost a short, mini ritual that reminds me why I wear them: the promise ring my fiancee picked out, the antique key she gave me around my neck, the celtic knot ring I found, auspiciously during troubled time, and have worn for ten years.
There are lots of little charms and badges and such that are mementos or spiritual symbols on coats, jackets and bags too. It's comforting during a moment on a train or in a waiting room or in line somewhere to feel something there and take that second to think on what it's there for, as with the jewelry too.
I have A few things that I wear :
A Waning Moon Ring
A Moonstone Ring with the Moons phases around it .
A Blessed Be Necklace With A sterling Silver Owl Attachment .
A Celtic Cross With Symbols On it.
I wear the pentagram to honor my wiccan heritage, my faith, and so that the world will know what I am, and know that I am proud.
Its rather nice when open minded people ask me about it at work and have a short discussiou and history lesson. I always end with "No war has been fought in the name of Wicca". It usually makes people smile and nod in agreement.
Bully for me.
The other simble I wear and this one isnt near as spiritual, but just as important to me...

~W~
Dragon Ring and a Goddess necklace Both with protection stones
I wear a simple silver ring, on a silver chain around my neck. I’m not sure what it represents to me or why I still wear it, but often if I forget to put it on after a shower, it doesn’t take long for time to feel a little off. Perhaps it is psychological or perhaps there is some comfort or energy bound to the metal. Or perhaps it represents life itself, and ongoing cycle that never ends.
i have a tattoo of a lambs head blending into a lions head representing my little sister(the lamb)papa(lion)who are both dead, and also a sybol of knoledge and strength, patience and feircness, and so on.
