Well most of us are aware of the many ways a vampire feeds, when it usually comes out to hunt, under what conditions they survive, and so on.. but what would vampires do on their free time? Would they do things like go on VampireRave like we do, or would they do something(s) only vampires do?

Mythical vampires.. not the role-players.

Well I am not sure. Maybe they have different games they play. Or maybe they do the same things we do, you never know.

Well... at this time of day I would expect the mythical vampires of Stoker-esque fiction to most likely be sleeping in coffins filled with the earth of their homelands.

However, historical vampires as depicted in the original Slavic accounts were often described being just as active during the day as anyone else, and even having wives and families, too. Thus for the true Slavic vampires of history, when not "feeding" as true vampires actually feed (and no... not on blood or energy) it would be quite likely that they might be found enjoying the same entertainments as the rest of us, including the frequenting of sites like... say... this one.

Well if you are talking about mythical/hollywood vampires then they would either be asleep or hidding in the darkness waiting for the sun to set so they can prey.

As far as games they could come up with their own. Just like humans do.

assassinations, its the thrill of the hunt and well whats more entertaining than getting paid to hunt and being encouraged use your own style?

i think they would be no different than we are.
i think they would not exist just cause they have to feed themselves. some of their 'games' would be different, just like different races have diferent games, but mostly they would not be so different.

As the myth would say they would sleep, yet when awake would hunt and I prasume they would spend the rest of the night watching and learning from its prey to hunt better. Another interpatation to say of what they might do.

They'd be online, for sure, up early checking the markets, seeing to business. I imagine they'd read a lot. Online gaming might be of interest, but not vr, except maybe if they're of an ironic or bitter mindset. If they were able to go outside in the day, I think they'd head for the beach.

I don't think there would be any free time . I think they would be driven by a blind lust for blood and to be hidden .

oh, you know, the usual greg...hang out sleeping during the day, then going to a moody Vamp bar at night or hangin out in some n'orleans cemetary just moodily brooding while not feeding....

the romantic notion is that they'd entertain themselves in theatre (symphony- ballet- opera) is pretty prevalent

I think they'd definitely see alot of art...

I'm sure they do simular everyday things except its at night and they sleep during the day is all.

I think they would be online.. Chatting with other creatures of the night. And maybe checking the time ofsunrise and sunset.

I think they would make up their own games also I believe that if their are vampires they can be able to live in the day also so I think they would do what normal people do.

So in the case of looking at mythical vampires and what they would do for entertainment. Many mythical vampires would be extremely old. So the idea of activities such as piano playing, writing, painting, and things much of an aristocratic taste would suit there entertainment. But of course you could always look at it in the sense of mythical vampires that are not extremely old. They would probably enjoy quite a few things that we do as "normal" people. Who knows they may even come on VampireRave.

I think they enjoy tag, pin-the-tail-on-the-human and monopoly. lol

Seriously, I think if they were real they would enjoy the same things we do.

I think that they would enjoy older versions of entertainment. Like reading and writing. Things that reflected the times they lived in. After they got used to the technology we use they would probably be interested in many of the same things we do. I highly doubt they would come on vr because odds are they wouldnt know how to use a computer. And even if they did I dont think they would enjoy being on a site about them. Also, if they said they were real vampyres most people would only mock them.

I think that if they did have a computer..they would have a site set up for other vampires. And it would be called..Vampires United. And they would spend their free time making plans for a new world order of Vampires. With humans as the main course.

Any form of entertainment that would be pleasing to the individual vampire...

I picture them hitting the clubs and bars periodically. Maybe a few concerts.

Reading, research, and lots and lots of people watching.

Living such a long life will make watching short-timers very interesting for passing the time.

Malkavians have a tendency to hold balls...and then bounce around rubber rooms...but thats work for fun they play with their food.

As far as fictional ones, especially in the Blade Movies, they seem to have quite a social life.

Most vampires seem to be a bit into toying with each others minions.I could see vampires going to autions to furnish their many lairs some vampires have numerous places to go traveling to change scenary....would be entertainment.

I suppose they would do the same things to entertain themselves as you or I.

I think they would do a lot of the same things that we do - they would immerse themselves in history, culture, art, music, etc ... they would philosophize about life, etc .... and they would just have some fun!

I would like to imagine them eternally running after mortal pleasures- the arts, food, wine and whatnot- to repress their loneliness.

What also comes to my mind are the Toreadors of VTM who vainly try to perfect their artistic skills to match those of mortal artists. And all their nights they toil in vain.

I think mythical vampires would play chess, watch theatre, listen to some music, perhaps make love on their free time. I do not think they would play tag you're it, the wii, or any highly active game like that, just because the mythical vampire is usually hundreds of years old if not more.

I think I can imagine vampires playing "highly active games" I mean, with their immortality presumably comes perpetual youth so they have all the energy and vigor to waste.

I would imagine fictional vampires would have certain personnalities just like the humans they once were. If you were an early adopter type, one that had to have the newest thing, you might want a wii or iphone. If you were a conservative type, you may still be using a quill and ink, or a typewriter.

I think the fictional vampire would follow their own feeling for entertainment.

if their name is Rodolph they cannot play Vampire Games.

I would like to think they would be more involved in what they enjoyed doing in life. Such as movies, or a public atmosphere. Just because they are undead, does not mean dead and composing, with the smell of decay.

Why not the Rave? Seems as good a place as other online sites I have visited, but better in many ways.

Hell, might as well check up on societies point of view toward you before you venture out night by night.

I think they would just relax until it was time to go hunt for food. Maybe read a little or do a crossword puzzle.

Soulshroude has a point. I'd like to imagine them also in the habit of collecting memorabilia and manuscripts made about them through the ages and just stuff their castles or crypts (whichever you prefer) with vampire collectibles and books (when vanity strikes).

Mythical vampires would sleep all day...afterall they need the strength to hunt down all their victims...

Sound cheesy yah probably but they still ned certain things and I believe sleep would be one of them.

I think they would sleep all day ..After roaming the nightclubs and dark allies all night..bet they are dead on their feet and wanting some quite time in the coffin.

After hunting and such, I tend to think they'd be resting to gain strength for the nigh to come

Maybe some of them take up painting or photography...maybe some of them enjoy doing things like we do on VR.

Let's see, many indoor activities to do when awakening before the sun sets... tv, movies, online, playing an instrument, building things as a hobby.. list is endless.

I believe Real Mythical Vampires would waste their time on study of the arcane sciences, and aquisition of who knows what kind of other knowledge wich is wraped up so nicely, and appealing, in this material universe, wich has so much to show, and so much to tell.

In my mind I see one sitting in a comfortable chair with a book.

They might compose a symphony, write a concerto, paint a picture expressing thier time on earth... Of the joy and pain experienced... Their many loves and losses over time.
There is also a love for the mundane lifestyle. ie.fine cuisines. Wether or not they are able to consume "mortal food", the time effort and care that goes into making something beautful and or appetizing appeals to the vampire.
The subtle pleasures in life that humans take for granted everyday.

Anything a normal person in their fiction would do, I suppose.

I believe they would do the same things that a 'normal' person would do for fun.

Some would pursue physical activities like skateboard parks, sunset or dawn surfing, hang-gliding, or perhaps they'd salsa dance. Others might actually want to be trained in profession. One of the problems for humans is when we have to choose one, spend years at it, and then want to switch. Ain't so easy for everyone, but a vamp would have all the time in the cosmos to pursue medicine, astronomy, marine biology.

I think they would build there riches feed the eternal lust for the red nectar and look for the lost loved one that made them turn from the light to darkness.

I would think hat they wouldn't be much different than a standard human in this aspect. Different strokes for different folks. I'm sure some would like art, some would like sports, and some would like just relaxing with a decent book. I wouldn't think that they would all be carbon copies of each other.

I try to put myself into the "mind" of a mythical vampire.

I think their activities would be quite varried, based on their individual taste developed during their "mortal" life. I don't think feeding would be the all consuming pursuit you see in the literature,as I think it would be far easier to accomplish today.

I know that I would be pretty sick of the existance after a few centuries. I have to think that many mythical vampires would be doing research into how to return to their motal selves and live out a natural end to their lives.

I'd say - lots of balls to attend, operas to go to, and assassinations to commit.

I always picture them in huge old dusty rooms surrounded by books, reading or playing chess infront of a fireplace. We could add a plasma TV in there somewhere just for the sake of modernity.

They might do the same stuff we do or there might be stuff only vampires can do to relax and have fun,
sadly we might never know.

I have to wonder.. if it was a vampire in this day and age.. would they not try their best to blend with society so that they are not discovered?? I would like to think that there is more to their existance then waiting for the sun to set - and preying on people. The hunt would be a thrill no doubt.. but.. there would be a lack of love for the most part.. and passion.. laughter..

Wouldn't blending in and forming bonds with people be a risk for them? They would then have to not prey on their immediate entourage but be forced to constantly search for alternatives.
By blending in you could also risk exposure.

i think anything is possable and they might do the same thing we do but you never know for sure untill you ask one.

maybe they hang out at the bar or club? or maybe they have vampire get together groups and play board games all night

They would rest during the day then seek what there passions and desires for blood,lust ,art and music

They'd probably do the things they enjoyed as humans, probably end up traveling, trying new things...Just living it up, doing whatever they wanted, I'm sure, for at least a short period of time.

They'd hang out at the usual neighborhood haunts like graveyard and such....some might have to work the graveyard shift...others would be doing what comes naturally, making hot vampyre love.

Playing the stock market, making themselves some easy money so they can continue to live the comfortable lives they like to live.

Reading stories about their kind, laughing at how close or distant our descriptions of them are.

Watching the world quite literally turn and travel threw space.

Then there is also the same stuff we do.

I believe that a vampire would be doing what a vampire does, look for prey. The internet would be a great way of finding willing souls.

Hm... remember in the movie Interview with a Vampire....the theater that armand was at, was the vampire pretending to be vampire that is in fact, a vampire? What if vampires say...played roleplaying games or just roleplaying in general as a vampire...to make others think it's just RP when in fact, they really are what they act out? hehehe don't let that confuse you. ;)

Well if vampires did exist then I am sure that VR would be a prime example of where they would be hanging out, they'd blend right in.

if they like books they would read and if they like playing cards and dice they would be doing that.they would have to do something to stop dying of boredom and also something which wont let them be noticed.one in a book was uncovered cos he always wrote articles.

Well, vampires have abilities and resources greater than our own so the odds that they would spend a majority of their time on the internet is slim. I know that if I had some of their abilities I'd be out in the night having fun toying with people's minds or something else like that.

Well I guess it would depend on the Vampire? I'm thinking they all have different interests. There are probably geeky vamps who brows the net & play WOW all night long & then there are sporty vamps who break into golfing ranges at night for a round of golf vith their vamp buddies. Some probably experiment with mind altering drugs, some may just sleep all night (the lazy ones) & some go out clubbing.........
