Just something to make you's think tell me what you think of this. can it be true or what?
Vampyres enjoy a more efficient metabolism than most humans. Because of this, their bodies are able to perform more efficiently too.
Most Vampyre's strength is no more than any human could achieve, the difference is that a Vampire has this strength without effort of training whereas a human would have to spend long, hard and regular hours in the gym to achieve the same results.
Some Vampyres are able to use a degree of shape-shifting skill to adjust bone pivot points, muscle attachment ratios and tendon strengths to obtain powers beyond that which is achievable by their original bodies, however, this is rarely worth the effort and pain to perform
If the vampire has the concentration and the ability to focus a form of energy known as jing (advanced form of ki or chi energy) into their muscles, I believe they can achieve such feats.
I've never attempted this feat because I have never felt like I had to, you know?
Just my thoughts.
it may be, but prolly varies in certain vamps.- mothers have really strong bonds if their kids are in trouble- thats the story i read- hope it helps
love zani
I think in a way it is more developed but not like you see in the movies.
i think that they do have the ablity to have super strenght but how do they go from needing to use it and then do something that i delicate???
my thinking is ......utter horseshit
like was said...the ability is possible....
but I doubt strongly it has to do with vampirism...more likely long training
Interesting theory, I don't know which way I would fall in my opinion. I feel that it is possible, but would need to know more before forming a real opinion.
Anyone, not just vampires, that know how to use energy can change the flow of energy in their body and affect lots of things not just strength. The ability to heal quickly is probably a much more common use of energy in this fashion.
Several years ago my daughter fractured her pinkie. They told her it would be at least 6 weeks before the finger was completely healed and pain free. With energy work twice a day every day, it was healed and pain free in 2 weeks.
The use of energy in the right was can do amazing things. It is very possible but for most it is highly improbably.
It is interesting in theory but I beleive it to be mostly due to the fictionalization of vampires. Remember that for years, vampires were considered monsters and that all of the monster portrayed in literature and in the movies were unnaturally strong.
you might have some extra traits but not as in a mythological matter.
The traits ttributed to rl vampires were placed in a thread here a while ago....
rapid healing
more youthful appearance
not sure re strength....as one stays 'younger' longer then the weakness of old age can be forestalled, if they are able to use energy in some way then perhaps that can be focused into muscle regeneration and enhancement.
There are many healers however who are not vampire, many vampire who are not healers....I would have to say that of all the traits there are super strength as in movie depiction is one I wouldn't go with
Adrenalin secreted in certain stressful situations can and do give individuals an extra show of strength. But normally vampires are no stronger than anyone else.
A myth, I would say. Though I think it's popped up in movies at times. But you know how hollywood is...
I am under the opinion that strength can come from good genetics and hitting the gymn hardcore.
Vampires are the undead!! So no super strength, they are corpses!!
It seeems that this stregnth is available to those who can put the time and concentraition into their flow of energy. However wouldn't the physical state of the person or vampire in question also affect this process. For example it would be harder or maybe impossible for a person who is unfit(not just physically) or abuses drugs, or something simular, to attain this super stregnth.
Am i correct in thinking this?
hummm very interesting since your average vampyre is nothin more then a human with a condition....and since a vampyre needs blood to be able to sustain its life..you would think they would have a shitty metabolism..and it isnt possible to change your physical form into that of another differnt form..yes you can manipulate and unhindge and dislocate your joints, ect....but even people who are not vampyres can do that....
Quite an interesting forum... hmm...
I suppose it's certainly possible. Wish it worked with my body type. :P
As my Brother, Lord Ryu Stated. Our bodies have different traits that normaly take years to obtain by normal humans. Our senses are highted, healing and mental focus are more in turned with our bodies. We can for instance use weapons and have skills from birth. Most have noticed that they also can manipulate our body joints to imitate animals.
As for me I have weapon skills in Swords and hand to hand combat. I also have the ability to operate computers and Equipment I've never seen before.
Now for strength. Some have it some don't. But, it will take less time for use to increase it. Not through adrinal influinces.
I have more of an eloquence of speech-- not sure if that's much of a vampiric trait, but that and of prose, I'm very fond of.
I have seen the strength first hand and wats more i think the pain tolerance is incresed which could lead to more strength..
DT
As with human genetics, each "breed" of vampi/yre can and does retain a certain advancement of skills.
Africans can run far.
English are excellent horse-riders.
Spanish excellent dancers.
Americans for strength and army.
Germans for Intelligence.
Sanguines have strength and physical hardiness.
Psys have quick mental processes and physical agility.
*Half-breeds* have a combination that varies from either catagory.
Sexual vamps have excess stamina.
Etc.
If this happens amongst vamps, as I'm sure it would, hence the different "types" of vampyres... Why is it hard to think that some vampyres may have a slight - yes *slight* strength advantage over humans and others?
Was it not agreed in one of the threads that vamps, in general, are slightly better at certain actions than humans?
Putting aside all the hollywood bullshit, it is possible if one counts for genetics.
Think about it.

Like Daermon stated. “I doubt strongly it has to do with vampirism...more likely long training”
I believe that one who is said to be a Vampyre would still have to go through training to hone their skills. If this was true they would not be much different then Shaolin Monks. Both have special abilities unlike a regular person. Both need long rigorous training to adapt their abilities to the art.
The only "additional" traits that human living vampires posses over regular humans are psychic and empathic gifts. What makes modern vampires unique is their NEED to feed on the Lifeforce energy of human beings for health and nourishment.
It is incredible that with so much credible research and information out there, many claiming to be vampires/vampyres still continue to link modern vampirism with the mythological vampire. Superhuman strength and the ability to live 100+ years are traits attributed to ancient vampires only. Human Living Vampires have since evolved to what we are now. Anyone claiming otherwise is merely a counterfeit. Embrace the knowledge that will steer you from the fantasy and towards truth.
Dominic Angelus
I would only put in a couple more points, I think that we are doing ourselves a dis-service if we focus on the "Real" and "modern", and then forget the myth and the folklore. I think that in many ways, folklore and myth really do have elements of truth in them (except Hollywood). I sometimes question how much good all of these techological advances make if we forget where we come from, and where our mythical roots lay
You make a valid point, one which I tend to agree with. The problem that lies therein is that most who speak of the vampire from the lore standpoint do not follow the historical perspective. I am not refering to this particular thread, I mean this as a generalization. Too many look at ancient vampirism from the perspective of Bram Stoker's fable, Anne Rice and Hollywood. Instead of informational data, we get a lot of the "what if" people making the argument for vampirism. By doing so, compels the uninformed to follow the fantasy and thus mocking what ancient vampirism was all about. There ARE many characteristics that the ancients did possess that is reflected in the lore, but one must gather the right information in order to understand what ancient vampires truly were.
*looks at Vixin*
*insert sarcasm here*Yes, and all Irish and Native Americans are drunk, all Italians belong to the mafia, and all Polish are dumb.
I don't think so. Perhaps certain individuals can learn energy techniques that helps them in becoming stronger. But I don't think it necessarily has anything to do with being a vampire.
some have the strength but not all
it varies with everybody i have seen some who poses such strength and have it always and some who only have it when enraged
just some thoughts
As far as differenntiating musculature and tendon insertion points, as well as joint structure and the like, ummm.,...no..fiction. Pure and simple. Just by becoming a vampire cannot alter your shell in that manner or the entire physiology of the species would be different. As far as being imbued with certain gifts? I know lots of child prodigies that excel at certain things for whatever reasons from basically birth, but without proper guidance, practice and training, they will never develop into a "superior" form of that gift and that holds true for anyone. As a Martial Artist, I am sure you know Ryu, that without proper focus and training, there is nothing. As for superior strength without training? All I can say is the proof is in the pudding. I have seen people who are naturally stronger in some areas than others but not freakishly so... I am 5'7 and weigh about 165 right now and I hump 200lb bass cabinets all the time, but that isn't freaky or anything and I am not a vampire. I ahve also seen "vampires" who would be lucky to pull their own arm out of the socket let alone someone elses. so, to sum it up....Superior strength by virtue of claiming to be a vampire??/ no.
thats true...there strong...they can regenerate alot faster then humens and also regrown body parts...unlike humens
A limb-regenerating, super human vampire outside of literature?
Think about the impact on the medical field. That's better than the six million dollar man.
the strenght (I) feel is more than human because of the supernatural force behind it too...your points make sense but when you add the supernatural affects to the already easily attained strenght it becomes superhuman.
I believe that when put in a situation anyones superhuman strength comes out its called adrenaline but I do believe in it kinda*WINKS*~NFA
It has been proven that humans only use 10% of there brain so i believe that vampires use significantly more maybe 80 or 90% to focus there energy to certain points of the body so maximum effect is gained from the action if needed.
the mind is a powerful thing right?
some shaolin monks have gained 'super strenght' through meditation
so why not a vampire?
it's a myth. although i do agree with maybe less training is required for some people, the whole super strength is shit. it's something that was made up to make vampyres more apealing to the human eye. (hollywood)
I agree with the fact that legends and movies blow everything out of proporsions.
I have a friend who isn't a vampire, but due to his ability to focus energy into his muscles, his muscle has increased visibly in size over a period of a month. He's never gone to a gym, and he sits on his ass playing video games all day. Vampires aren't the only ones who can increase their strength.
I'm not sure about this one. Every other ability that vampires are said to have makes some sense, so I'll choose not to debate this one, just as I haven't debated the other powers Vampires are said to have. So, I guess it's possible.
Some people are blowing things out of proportion, Movies are mostly fictional. But I agree with the few that say through focus and meditation and such one can achieve a higher physical power. Homosapians use less brain enery and Vampires could achieve much more. We have better concentration and focus.
I believe that Vampires do have unmaginable power! However without human blood the body grows weak and Cannot continue to use so much power! The stregth of a human compared to a Vampire is not even worth explaining! humans are weak in every aspect! Vampires have there weaknesses but not as many as a human!
Whover wrote these lines was truly out of his mind. So must be those who believe.
i think so.. i know some small people who show super human abiltys
Whatever... Man believes what he wants to believe. And no power on earth could possibly change that.
I think that every person on this planet has the capability to have super human strength. Who knows what we are capable of when we need to be?
Saying Vampires have super human strength in my opinion is pretty holywood. I think that strength is another one of those things that subconsiously we fear, hence why in the old fair grounds they would often have a man they claimed was the worlds strongest man in the 'freak show'
Although as I mentioned in another thread, there is said to be a Vampire who lurks beneath the city of Liverpool, who it is reported can move a 3 tonne disc of rock on his own, when specialist equipment it needed to move it by everyone else.
ok one I know what vampyres are , what they can do and can't I made this thread to see what others think and if it be something that is fact or not to see what others think now the one who said something to the point that the one who wrote this was mad , stupid or w/e have you ever met a true vampyre no I think not some here made good points. but did not show disrespect , you have but that is what happens some type with out thinking.
As far as vamps having super strength. We all are more stronger due to the condition, it just varies to where and to training. I can with stand a lot of pain and when taken out of a playful mood I seem to be more stronger than is humanly possible. And no I do not mean an adrenaline rush, nor do I mean that I can bench press a car.
i got to say that it vary on the vampyre and the power bestowed by his maker. A true pureblood has been known to give his fledgling his stregnth, if not more of it at birth.
well me personaaly i know vampyres are many times stronger then humans i myself have bent a 440 surgical stainless steel full tang katana into the shape of an ''S'' and just to see if i could picked up the front end of a chevrolet Z71 king cab by the front end which weighs about 2.5 tons, so i know this is true...
*oozes jealousy*
Not being Awakened really, I don't have anything special.
as far as "super" is being said here (and I don't mean the superhuman kind), I believe that because of the condition 'modern day vampires' have, they possess the ability to "harness" the energy they "feed" on to take their strength just a few notches above normal.. even without going to the gym.
that is why you will notice a few who will sport a more "youthful" appearance despite of the normal life they live.. (as in no special diet nor exercise regimen)
but of course, they can only do so much as to where their levels of energy can take them.. if they do not know how to "release" their energy at a controlled pace, they easily "burn out" and thus, require the need to "feed" more often..
Im not sure "Superhuman" is a good way to put it really... mabey "enhanced" would work better?
well at this point i would say just about anything is possible!
For me it remains a myth as long as no one can actually prove their adventurous saying.
The only thing I have to say is want an example Watch Cris Angel's Mind Freaks. See what he can do.
The only thing I have to say is: want an example Watch Chris Angel's Mind Freaks. See what he can do.
The only thing I have to say is: want an example Watch Chris Angel's Mind Freaks. See what he can do.
The only thing I have to say is: want an example Watch Chris Angel's Mind Freaks. See what he can do.
Personally, I know I possess super mental strength and powers.
Ridiculous...
Sure, there are people who are stronger, more flexible, more psychically aware than others, but that doesn't make them vampires...nor does being a vampire automatically bestow you with supernatural powers.
I know of plenty of people who aren't vampires that can do some pretty amazing things...and plenty of vampires who don't have the brain capacity to form coherant sentences online or the strength to drag themselves up and down 10 flights of stairs.
Such traits are individual ones, based on genetics, training, and willpower....not just claiming to be of some supernatural race.
It could be true but one also must have the endurance it takes to keep that feat up
If they didn't they would oh srry we wouldn't live so long!
Vampirism could enhance genetics, what is a strength would be better or easier to develop and what is a weakness could be slightly more annoying. Past that I would not presume to say, but then I am usually reluctant to completely dismiss anything without first hand experience (although I may play devil's advocate lol).
~Z
i believe its true.... vamps do have super strength but i also think that most of it comes from a set and determined mind
a vampire may have superior strength by feeding on cow blood. All the steriods that are given to cows may pass through to the vampire
Vampires vary in there abilities some have strength some have skill.
I think its a myth. As a hunter it must have smarts on its side but look at the wolf pack or hunting dogs. Jut my thoughts on it.
have you met any of these people i know on here you would know that for many of years they do.
i have to agree that the whole super human strength is utter horse shit vamps and humans alike have to train them selves or work at it to have strength at all unless some guy comes up t me and shows me that he can lift like 5 tons with one hand i highly doubt that it even exsists. i have done a lot of studys in m years and dont see any phiscal possibilty for there ever bing a such thing.
super strength, i believe they could have a great deal of strength but not enough to be lifting 5 tons. i guess it could be a possibility though.
I also believe that vampires are gifted with superior strength, but just like regular people, there are different degrees of strength that each possess.
I agree, there are definitely different levels of strength, but there are also different types of strenghth that we have to take into order
a normal human would have a surge of strength in a stressfull situation like whe we hear of a mother lifting a car off of her child now life and death a vampier is feeding on you what say you that maybe a you would have an enormouse surge of both adrenelin and endorfins. would not then it be in the blood and be readu for use n the vampires sytem with out need for the stressfull situation
I will no longer make threads for I am told they are condascending and some feel I am preaching my teachings. I am sorry they feel the way they do and I must say by no means was that what I was trying to do. I was trying to show my views and get feedback on them.
Thank you for your time
Ryu Noctem Aeternus
ive done very little working out yet my friends do alot i am just as strong as they r. ive been like this since at least yr5.
The superhuman power or strength...even half of how you see it in the movies...it would be nice and, somehow, a compensation for the weakness...of the soul...
here's soem food for thought..... maybe "vampirical" strength also has something to do with what is some times known as a Beserkers rage... something that is triggered and also to a point can have a tendency to overload the body with adrenelin and dull the ability to feel pain after an initial trigger is set off (often caused by violence or blood shed of some type)
I'm just curious as to where the information that vampires enjoy a better metabolism comes from?
- D
it could be or couldn't be true. i am not a vampire so i cannot say from experience.
i doubt that vampirism really has anything to do with metabolism... lol...
well for one that is very skilled in shape shifting the limits of their strength is endless. as for some others they have a very high pain tolerence and things that most humans would have trouble doing they can do because when the human begins to feel pain they tend to back off.
Hmm..Very very interesting..I would wonder how everyone comes up with such wonderful posts...
i dunno, guys, i dont really believe this is true. at least not of all vampires.
Well, I think this comment wins for the most hilarious...and the most full of poo :
"i myself have bent a 440 surgical stainless steel full tang katana into the shape of an ''S'' " #1, who put your fingers back on?? #2 I didn't know Spencers sold "katanas" #3 No sword maker worth his salt would EVER make a 440 surgical steel katana...That's jsut ridiculous...somone should have studied his sword making before saying something that stupid. And lifting a Z-51 frint end?? Ummmm yeah...send a pic...LOL
anyone can reach such a level...through meditation..and a focus of energy known as chi...but vampires who obviously drink blood...take in a lot of extra hemoglobin...which gives off the effect of youth...by a pinkish complexion and or a boost of energy due to literal blood sugar,-mieta-
Hey all, I don't think there is super strength. I think anyone vamp or not would need to work at it with dedication.
i think it is possible, there has always been speculation but no prof but yea i think so
I do not think that strength is the result of vampirism. Instead as stated above, we are prone to many examples of training and energy work that can bring forth such a result whether it be intentional or not. If you do not take the time to master such skills or process the physical work that it requires, it will not magically appear.
Ok, lets see if I payed enpough attention to that documentary: Moncs that practice kung-fu do it. They control the chi in a manner that you can wack them in the arm with an iron bar, and the skin doesen't even peal...I don't know if it's possible, like daermon said, to achieve it without training, but hey...Untill I see it, I can't deny it.
I know that it's possible to train your body and mind so that, as stated above, you can be hit anywhere (even in the back of the neck and that little spot on your chest -pardon my lack of English here- that can kill a person), and not or barely be even bruised.
I do believe that anyone, vampire or not, would indeed have to train for it before anyone can master that ability. I don't think it's just some sort of automatic super power any vampire possesses as soon as they are either born, awakened, embraced, sired, etc. It will need time and effort for everyone.
Maybe vampires however are more sensitive to the use of energy -both their own as others- and could accomplish such an ability 'easier' than others.
Strength and Power...are all based in the Mind...A Powerful Mind can give the impression fo super strength...Bending the rules of this reality are easy...Clouding Ones Mind can give the illusion of shape shifting...No pain is needed...Thses are simple to perform...
i agree in this thoery 100% just dont believe in the use of it in public, but im sure im not the only one that knows that.
i've already given my oppinion buit thats just it i am tired of you sorry worthless peices of garbage preachin telling me wat is true and isnt true. I have seeen and expeirenced the strength and i am not sayin that it wasnt a ridicoulous couinsince but some one comes in say oh its not true and thats all there is too it you make people want to slap you how the hell would you know how many damn actual Vampyres do you know huh? not enough is wat im saying and if you dont know about the GD subject then shut the HL up. sorry but i cant take this crap about people tellin me wats real and not when they have never seen it. it is thier oppinion not a fact. do some Fing research.
-peace
ok my son relax thats what this is for to get what others think no biggie. to each there own.
It is possible but I agree with those who say it's not necessarily related to vampyrism. When a person's adrenalin is pushed to its max, someone of say my size(I'm about 5'7, 148lbs.) could lift up a car if the need to do so ever came about, like if someone was trapped under it or something.
I personally see that as myth for the most part. Especially for those of us who stay in a regular state of starvation (due to ethics and lack of donors). My life is wracked with constant migraines and chronic fatigue while trying to survive off ambient feeding and occasional snacking from single individuals.
its more skill then anything but it is possiable, and can't be ruled out
At my work they sometimes call me hercules since I can sometimes undo things which they could not. Like for example, they couldn't get a nut off of a bolt, and they kept trying and trying... then I came along and the other guy goes to get a wrench, and I look at it and just twist the nut off... and they're all amazed that I could do that. I don't have any more muscles than they do, I just have a very strong grip. It comes from working with my hands. It has nothing to do with being super-human, yet you get the odd person who says: "Oh man, you're a vampire, Jens!" To which I merely shake my head. lol
Someone has been digging in the old threads again hee hee
yes, so I see . . . I agree with Enigma. I have seen what bursts of adrenalin can do with a human body and also what drugs can do - watch a human literally toss another triple their body weight over a car and actually be shot several times in the chest point blank and still move as nothing . . .
Super strength can come from many things. It can come from our muscles, rage, adrenaline, our perception, ect. Put that in the hands of someone who is immortal, can regenerate, and has more animalistic tendencies and you have strenght that mortals can only dream of. A vampire regenerates, therefore, they will not fatigue or cause their muscle to tear as easily. That seems to me the simplest answer to me.
im a vampire my self... i ply rugby, i dont know if any one here even know that sprots but for the ones who knows they know it is tought and for big strong ppl mostly, at least at the adult level, im very thin and not very big and i play with the adults even tho im jsut 19 , i have never been into a gym or done really muhc exersice but im as strong as any other player that has brake his back on the gym... i have not really cuestion if it a vampire avilitie or not, but it could be.
I dont' know what is wrong with you other then the generlization of the term "SUPERHUMAN". Anything that is exdrodinary or beyond the "norm" in the common aspect of "HUMAN" life is superhuman. If a fireman carries 3 people out of a burning building they call it superhuman. If a person swings on a rope across a gap that would make the masses teriffied, "people" call it superhuman. To us "vampyres" those of the world that acctually accept who and what we are increased abilities are the norm. So what I can pick up the front end of a ford grenada big woopdie doo. A body builder can do the same thing. The only difference is because of being a pureblood it is in my genetics and part of who and what i am. Some vampyres have greater strength others have speed and still there are the powers of the mind along with the body that is and is not regonized as abilities. So who are you to judge what is real and what is not. Before you judge ask yourself this. What do i not know about the world around me?
I beleive it is true, and also the jing is something that can be reach its one of my goals
It might be true, due to all the changes happening inside their bodies, but I didn`t meet one yet, so the problem is a little unclear...
all humans have thier own level of physical stength some have more then others because of training. Like me before I was awakened there was a limit to what I could handle but now after my brother and my awaking I have been abley to do alot of things that I was never able to do. All of my sense have grown more atune and I'm stronger and more agile then I was. Im very capable of handling myself in just about any situation. There has been times when I have had to test my limits and I have found that as far as my strength I have been able to many things that most guys bigger then me cant do.
