Has anyone ever had a near death experience, if so what did you see?
My near death experience was when I was only 5. My parents had taken me to the local swimming pool and I was having a great time until i was caught underneath one of those Donut Ring swimming aids. I was under the water for about two and a half minutes. The only thing I saw was the water around me turning dark red and black. They pulled me out unconscious and I had to be resusitated. I wouldn't go swimming for about a year afterwards either!
I had one and I really didnt' see anything but the flames of what was on fire
I went through load, but, its something ive been through myself.Thought i,d start my own thread,if this has intruded on someone elses,i apologise.
I remember one time Ialmost drowned and the only thing I remember was the darkness
I had several near death experiences...
To me the most interesting was (well, not that I've enjoyed) when I fell from the top of the building (almost, but that is a long story). Well, I had a sensation that my wings had grown and that I am flying...
(explaination: I was fallingl from the building and by some unexplainable reasone I was brought back to the roof)
i diddnt see nothing at all but i know i died for about 12 min & was told by the dotor o was"lucky£ to surive
Sadly, I have been near death. Unfortunately, I was in such a deep coma that I remember nothing. I do believe in near death experiences. Check out Silvia Brown.
I have had three. The first one was when I was a small child, I was so sick with pneumonia that the doctors didn't think I'd make it, my fever was so high that I was hallucinating. The next time happened when my head was slammed onto concrete, I was told the impact should have shattered my skull. There is no logical reason that I survived the second one, the doctor said "Any normal human being would have died intantly, your head must be made of stone!" The third time was due to severe dehydration, I was halucinating this time too. I do not remember seeing anything any of those times, but that doesn't mean I didn't.
I never had . But a real good friend of mine has. He said it was like floating to a light . He saw his Grandfather who told him it wasn't his time yet. He changed his life for the better from the cause of it.
yes i have has a near death experiences but the only think i could see was evey body trying to keep me alive from about what look like 4 or 5 feet above them until my heart started again
Does being legally dead for about 7 and a half minutes count? lol When I was 14 years old, I was hit by ans SUV doing nearly 50. (Long-story-made-short, that is lol) At any rate, I was dead for a little over 7 minutes, but I don't remember anything. Just headlights, and then waking in the hospital a day and a half later.
After having 2 heart attacks i really did not see much of anything.
I have had 3. 2 of which i have actually died....not bad for only being 22.
1st time. choked. don't remember anything odd.
2nd time (died) stick went through the roof of my mouth out the back of my skull. no real ideas of "after death."
3rd time (18) trampled to death by a horse...did not feel good waking up from that. all i remember is not knowing where or who i was and attacking anyone who got near me. so don't really believe in "seeing things after death." maybe you actually have to stay dead??
I've had 2.
When I was 11 I was caught in a rip current and almost got brained by several large boulders before being pulled out into the Gulf of Mexico.
The other was when I was 13 and this man was screaming in my face that he was going to kill me and had his hands around my neck choking and shaking me back and forth.
I didn't see anything significant either time. The first time all I was aware of was the ocean and the second time my vision was going black.
I didnt really see anything just before and after. I was skateboarding and I fell and my head was ima guess and say 5 inches away from the tire of a moving SUV Thats what a friend told me. I remember the fall then it went black and I heard the scariest scream and laugh anyoen would ever want to hear. Then when it passed I was on the ground.
My mother had a near death experience, she was giving birth to my youngest brother. She described floating above the room watching the doctors and nurses working on her. When she came to from what she thought was a dream. The doctor told her that her heart had stopped for 2 minutes.
I don't know if you'd call it a near death experience but I have had that floating, out of body experience. It is a hard feeling to forget.
after a car crash a few months back i out feel a weightless sinking, realised the girlfriend was unconcious next to me so snapped myself out've it but interesting experience
Have heard of it, have also heard better explanations for it. It is in fact known that as the brain starts to shut down we reach elaborate dream like states, this is the body's way of compensation for a very chaotic period. Many types of pilots who are subjected to centrifuges experience NDE's when they black out. Anyhow, people want to say "but it was so real" in all honesty, how is it that you know what happened to you? and why is it you will take the 1st notion that pops into your head and run with it? that isn't logic. Who in the world has not had a dream where they could feel and hear things very acutely and who here hasn't had a dream that they could have bet their life was real.
A few, but honestly, the only thing I ever saw was what almost killed me at the time, though sometimes it was in almost a 3rd person point of view (including the damned lighning bolt that nearly shocked the shit out of me!), and almost in a slowed-down state
I have been clinically dead three times during the course of my life. The first time was at birth and I do not recall that incident. The second time was when I was D.O.A. in a car accident back in 1999. I do remember a very bright place and feeling more content than I ever have during my lifetime. The thrid time I can't remember because that was when the hospital had overdosed me on Morphine. I don't remember most of that experience to say the least.
i have had a few near death experiences for reasons i wish not to talk about but i didnt see or hear anything everything was just black, it kinda makes me think that there is nothing beyond this life cause of it, it just seems when u die its all over
I really don't know why some remember this and others don't. Perhaps they just don't move into death fully. I know I am lucky to be alive and I have a Guardian named Elizabeth and don't want to go into the details of why I almost died but I remember getting a lecture from her. Other than that I saw nothing really.
I use to belong to IANDS when I lived in San Diego, that's the International Association for Near Death Experiences. I moved to Georgia for just short of a year and was surprised to see the President of that branch on Jonathan Frakes Paranormal Borderline speaking about Near Death Experiences. I subsequently returned to California.
Its a really interesting and puzzling phenomenon and especially children's cases. Dr. Melvin Morse has done some extensive studies into this with children. I personally don't recommend Sylvia Brown myself in this area. Also Elisabeth Kubler Ross did extensive studies as well and was joined by Dr Thelma Moss of Entity fame who was a parapsychologist at UCLA previous to that. I believe both have since passed but you can find information on it all.
Then Dannion Brinkley has some interesting experiences. That's another story as I have had certain experiences in reference to this man.
This has been a pet interest of mine for a very long time.
Last year i was swimming on holiday and like a fool i went to far out suddenly the current got really strong and started to drag me down i tried to get up but it was to strong i remeber staying down for a while and seeing just darkness next thing i remember was waking up on the beach someone in a boat found me just in time. its scary when u come that close to dying i havent been swimming since.
have been near death twice but saw nothing just woke up in hospital
well i have apparently had one or so my parents tell me.
so idont know if i saw anything or not
Have had something but couldn't tell you what it was called. All I know it scared the hell outta me.
I have had a couple, but havn't seen anything. Of all the people I know most people don't see anything. Or probably just don't remember.
I have had one when I was a kid, didn't see anything then but I see things now.
I once was near death when I did an astral projection...
I once almost drinked myself into a coma...woke up in the hospital....well dunno if that counts as a near death experience but i didnt see or remember seeing anything lol
Yes there are 2 additional threads on this topic. I have 3 death certificates myself. I saw lots yet nothing at the same time. It was everything at once but nothing at all. Unexplainable really.
I have had 3 death experiances. but shit you see so much that it is like a movie going high speed. the one thing that i do remember seeing every time was this dark figure with his hand out waiting for me. and nothing ness around him.
I've had one which was a car accident that was my fault. You never think anything will happen to you and then wham you get hit trying to cross the street or some idiot tries to make the last second of a yellow light through an intersection. 2 if you count me almost dying at birth because I was premature. I thought that your life would flash before your eyes but it didn't and it is scary then when you are out there is nothing there and when you wake up from being unconcious for 13 hours like I was it is just an erie feeling that you can't shake.
I fell off of a cliff sking in Austria. As I was falling it felt just like a movie, like slow motion and had time to say a little prayer before landing on my back. Luckily, I managed to be pulled away with a few cuts (from the icey snow) and a slightly mangled leg.
I never had a desire to ski again.
I have had two near death situations.
I was born "dead" due to the umbilical chord being wrapped tightly around my neck. I have no recollection from this.
I was diagnosed with Type I diabeties when I was 30. I was in a diabetic coma nad the doctors said I was within minutes of death. I can only recall and overwhelming sense of calm and no fear whatsoever.
About two years ago I had a bit of a depression problem and drank a lot, guess I mixed the wrong things and had an allergic reaction and passed out and quit breathing. I remember going and laying down and falling asleep and seeing light and clouds....blue and purple and green swirling around me...I woke up to being carried down the stairs and people screaming in my face to wake up...doctors said if I didn't wake up I woulda been dead....
I have survived three car accidents where my car has been totaled. During one of the accidents, I blacked out after hitting one tree and before doing a 360 and taking out two other trees. Remarkably, i walked out of the car with no scratches or bruises. That particular accident, I remember thinking as i drove straight into the tree head on. I remember thinking that it was all over- that I would die. There was no light, no flash of my life... but then again i didnt even get hurt.
When I was about 3 or 4 I ran straight into a ledge of a staircase rail and cracked open my skull and felt like I was going to die at that moment but I managed to survive
Right after I got married I got real sick. I have a three day period I don't remember.
That's as close as I have gotten. I am not getting any younger so who knows what tomorrow will be like.
i was born dead, docters said i was heathy, but yet i was dead...and frezzing. and then as they wear passing me around grandpa john breath a kiss of life in me, he said it was a joy when i toke my first breath. even though you could see it(it was june 26 hot as hell).
then when i was 11, i got hit by a car and could only see a bright light and smell fresh water. thats and birds i could hear birds.
13 drug over dose, missing alot of blood to from a gun shot wound to my arm. i saw a light then a grassy field, with a stream and a brige it was beautiful. and there standing on the bridge was my anut philles, she was beautiful, and she didnt talk cuze i came to 13 mins later was the ems, standing over me sayen i was dead.
loser.
then 16 shot in the head, had a metal plate in the head saved me but in the hospital, i was in a coma for 3 months and had died on the table. again the same as i was 13 got on the bridge but, no coffee.
three days after my 17 b-day, had heart failer, died and this time i got to talk to her, she told me to keep strong and look up never give up, never letting go, that life was morethat i was more, and one day i will have to chose between, life death and good and evil.
all freaky but im just waiten to have another take to her again. this time i dont wanna go back.
I had a run in on a riding lawn mower with an 18 wheeler...there was a sense of time being slowed down...of things moving in slow motion...I remember looking up and thinking "I am going to get squished" and the next thing I remember is being on the pavement trying to reasure everyone that I was indeed still alive. There had to have been guardian angels/relatives something watching over me that day.......
I can honestly say I can't remember mine. They told me that they almost lost me when I was rushed in for an emergency c-section. But I don't remember anything but blackness.
yeah in the south the turn signal is a lost practice...lol...i have a near death expierience almost every day on the i-4 it was a bad week last week some trucker was very drunk and smacked into a wall he drove right passed me swerving all over the road and i let him just go...a few miles down the road is where i saw he lost control and hit the wall.....i blame it on the drivethrough liquor stores...lol
All I remembered was wanting to go to sleep. The next thing I know a paramedic is digging his knuckes into my sterum. At the time I felt very irritated at him.
i drowned in a river when i was 5. My stepdad decided i should learn how to swim so he threw me in the river off a bridge and said "get to bank if you want to live" so i went under and didnt come up and i watched my body drift to to the bottom of the river. so you now know why im alittle messed up in the head
yes
i was 17 i had major surgery and ended up on life support. all i could remember was being in and out and when i was out i was calm and had no worries. i dont remember much than that. wish i did.
when i came of my motorbike but all can remember was waking up in an ambulance with broken ribs and a broken arm
I have had a few NDE, in the Middle East during various work related events and even state side while in car accidents. In either case a serial state was entered mentally but nothing else really happened.
Um, when I was eight I was really depressed and had a hard time living life and wanted it to end. My mother's boyfriend wouldn't leave alone. I went to school and stayed in the bathroom all morning until I thought everyone went to lunch and had made up my mind to jump out of the fourth story window. When I went to the window i stepped out and stood on the ledge and tilted myself forward to fall. I was prepared to die. Then out of no where this girl walked into the bathroom and saw me. She ran for the window and grabbed my ankle while i was falling. She saved my life. I would've landed on a group of cars on the parking lot if she hadn;t caught me. I mean I was hanging while she was pulling me up inside the window. She was tall for her age.
I've had many other near death experiences but this was one of the most important to me. I think about it when times get hard and I question myself. I am here for a reason.
Never had one but i knew someone who did. He said he was aware of not being in his body anymore but couldn't see anything at all. He said everything was just dark. So I dunno what that means
I have had a couple one as a kid and one as an adult
the one as a kid I nealy drowned...i remember fighting to keep above the surface and I could see stars (wether that was from drinking to much water or not i dont know)
my second as an adult i was driving a car and feel asleep....i didnt see anything in that one but woke up sorry and sore
My mother survived ODing (overdosing) three times. The first time she saw nothing, but felt light and free, like she was floating...
the second time she heard myself and my brother, calling to her and laughing, and she came back to us..
the last time she heard nothing. everything was black and felt kind of ominious... like it was bad... she swore she'd never do anything like that again because she felt like she used up all her chances.
I didn't have one, but a friend of mine had one, and told me all about it, my friend's father was near death a few days ago, and he was seeing his late wife telling him to come join him in heaven, she said he told my friend his wife kept putting her hand out for her dad to go with his wife, he died two days ago, so guessing he went with his wife.
While in sleepaway camp, someone spread the geius idea of cutting the blood off from the brainn and makig people pass out.
Basically, the subject would wrap their arms around their wasste, bend over and inhale and exhale ddeeply until the cocunt of ten; they would then stand straight up as someone else put heavy pressure on the chest while the subject closed their hand around their throat. The cut off of blood to the brian would cause the person to collapse. I was stupid enough to try this and according to the people with me, I thrashed back ad forth; fi ally collapsing to the floor and convulsing.
What I remember is thinking I was at home and not camp anymore. I remember my room having been redecorated in white and I remember wishing I hadn't left camp so earl. i cam to when my friends kicked the crap out of me to get me to come to.
Sadly, this stupid idea spread like wildfire throughout camp and soon people were passing out without ever having been touched (they of course, had done it at least once). It was weird.
No angels...just things familiar to my life. I didn;t even know I had gone under.
I OD'ed when I was 16. I was a lawn when the Paramedics came I tried to run from them but Fell Out. I just remember Total Darkness everywhere Mentally and Physically. I felt this way for like 3 or 4 hrs? I woke up the Hospital feeling extremely Charged up inside. But still very Physically Beat up. I did'nt know that I lost Consciousness or my Heart Beat, til my Friend who was with me told me that the Paramedics brought me back. So my Near Death Experience would have to be a Black Void which I never even knew could've been Death?
I have been close to death and i dont remember ever seeing a white light though. I remember just the darkness
Several years ago my grandmother had a stroke-like attack that landed her in the hospital. I learned later that her heart had stopped for several minutes. Her only recollection from it was being with other people in a dark place eating rocks and concrete.
I have come close to death a few times but I can't remember anything about what happened. Sorry....
I have been near death twice though I cant say that I was in a coma or anything like that. The first was when I was 19....I had the most severe strain of pneumonia there is and in less than 24 hrs it had taken over one whole lung and 2/3 of the other and the dr told me that if I had gone to bed for the night I probably wouldnt have lived through the night. the second was a roll over car accident where I was thrown from the car. I hit my head on the roof of the car and blacked out and remember feeling like I was flying when I was in the air even though I dont remember it. I opened my eyes and was staring at the sky. A lady that saw the whole thing said it was the most beautiful and horrific thing to watch...my lifeless body flying through the air almost like floating and flying.
Yes.. I was in the Hospital and nearly bleed out.. every thing went dark I dont recall any thing but I was told I was calling out for my Long dead great grand mother whom I never met. She died when my grandmother was 17... I was talking to her I have been told and had a full convo with no one they told me.. Just like I was speaking right to her....
i was 13... i had a lot of bleeding from my thorat... nearly was blood drained... i cant remeber what i saw.. i was too dizzy... all i rember that one moment i was bleeding in my bed.. the next morning i woke up in a hosptial bed.. thats all
When I was 19 I was pregnant with twins. I had made it to 6mos of my pregnancy when I found out that my babies had passed before then and that they were poisoning my body. I had to give birth to them and the whole experience was horrific.
Three days after that I became very ill and I didn't know what to do. I started bleeding heavier and losing consciousness. Someone left to fill my some meds because I thought it was because I hadn't been taking them. I was bleeding to death and I didn't know. I was alone and I couldn't walk. when I finally made it to the hospital(3hrs later) I found out that when the other hospital was removing the after birth they didn't retrieve it all and if I had laid in the bed until the next morning I wouldn't have been alive. I had to have three blood transfusions.
have had several but the only one where i really saw anything was when i almost drown at the age of 12 i saw pretty much everything i cared about right in front of me as if i was close enough to touch them but they werent really there it was weird especially for a child
i can't remember i was two at the time and 20 now and i was dead for a couple minutes so it could have been anything
I was on a 2 story house in England stood on the gutter pulling the tiles when I slipped backward, my life literally flashed before me and this time it was with remote viewing, all the love the fun and hurt and every silly thing I did, I judged myself n then right at the end I was pulling this tile n I shouted out don’t but it was too late and I was back in my body falling backwards…… I saw the top of the tree n new this is going to hurt, lucky enough a sort of black blanket effect rapped around me, it seemed like 2 minutes had past and I was in a dark room with a slight echo, then I saw a light and thought bugger im dead, but I seemed to float out from the base of my neck to my mouth n the light was coming in my eyes, and I woke a couple of weeks later to nurses sticking some pain killer in my spin and lots of morphine…..
the only near death experience that I remember was drug induced, I had an assortment of drugs in me that was slowly killing me though no one around me seemed to notice, even when I collapesed to the floor. They just sat me over the toilet and left me there. Finally they brought food to me as I was sliping in and out of conciousness, the smell of the food made me vomit every thing back up and I came right back to my senses. But during that time I didn't see any thing.
another time i was near death was last year when the stupid drs od'd me on pain meds in the hospital and put me in a coma but i was so doped up i dont remember a damn thing just what ive been told and apparently it wasnt pretty
yes i have twice...
the first time i saw blues and greens.. felt calm... and i felt warm.. like the sun was shining down onme..
second time was after i ave birth to my son.. lt warm once agian and saw blue haze..
that is all i can recall.. both times i felt like my body was jerked back into the hospital..
There is a meditation that one can do to that brings the person on the edge of the spirit worlds, supposedly if that person were to go through the portal of light and keep walking, they die. I was guided through this once. On the other side, supposedly God was waiting. I didn't believe in God. But when I was told to touch this light, I went into convusions for several hours. A few months later, my stomach would tense up involuntarily. I've heard of several cases when people on the brink of death do this meditation, being afraid to let go. When they walk through, they die. Made a believer out of me.
I've had two. One when I was younger involved my father leaving me beside a swimming pool, he went inside for a beer and i decided to take a swim, however I couldn't. I remained underwater for almost three minutes maybe more. I remember very little except seeing the water around me and wondering why i couldn't breathe underwater.
The second was several years ago when i tried to commit suicide. I remember very little except for many voices and shadows and a lot of light. (i've gotten counseling since and am much better mentally) Other than that I couldn't tell you if near death experiences exist.
Quite a few near death experiences. I seem to have them more often and more frequently than most people. It might have something to do with the fact that I was flat-lined, clinically dead for 3 hours at birth.
when i was 9 i was hit in the head with a lead pipe and struck by lighting. i died for about 5 min give or take a few seconds. but it's hard to explain what i saw.
I have a lung disorder (COPD) one night about 7 yrs ago I clinicaly died 3 times in 2hrs and I never saw a thing, but it was truly scary.
ive had a hell of a lot but the only thought to run though my head was
is this it
i had one about two yaers ago but all i saw was two people all in white wairin mask but thats probly cause i was in a hospital lol
About 3yrs ago i went in to have knee surgery and was haveing a local(only numbing the bottom half of my body), well i was lying on the cold metal table my arms strapped down, right after the doc gave me the shot in my back and i realised i couldn't move my head, then my hands, and i tried to speak and nothing would come out, and realised my chest had stopped moving and my eyes where closing and my heart was stopping all i could think about was never seeing my son again, and then i died, i saw no white light, just darkness and an over whelming sense of cold and as if some one had grabbed my feet and was pulling me under. Apparently the doctor put the needle in the wrong spot and the med went up instead of down, to this day i still have nightmares about it where i wake up and cant breath.
had 3, and never saw anyting expect the last one I saw the nurses runing and then when I was able to come back they said I waslucky cause they taugh I was not gonna make it. kind a amusing.
been there and all I remember is extreme darkness and strong disorentation.
never been there but my father has and he said that he was above his body while they were taking my mother out of the room and that he could see everything that was going on.
I was clinically dead for about 2 minutes. I don't remember seeing anything although when I woke I could sense peoples emotions and thoughts (empath). All I remember about it is this overwelming feeling of rejection. I don't know if it was rejection from death or what.
the ones i have had i never seen a light or my life flash before my eyes just blankness
About ten years ago i was in a car accisent with my mom and the little boy she baby sits for and this car hit us head on and there was a tractor trailer behind us and he hit us to I almost died at the hospital all i remember is my grandmother who is dead and has been for a long time saying to me what r u doing here i was not expecting you then she dissappeared
Well I almost passed away when I was 9 years ago. I never saw anything. But for some reason I to this day have had this crazy dream of being a soldier in the war of 1812 crazy but I can remember lots of thing sor some reason.
the only other thing ive seen is me rolling up on a hood of a car
I was clinically dead, 3 times. First one, I was 15, stabbed over 22 times, left for dead under a house,(long story)....I remember each time what I saw. They had lost me 2 times in the hospital, but one of them for over 5 minutes.
2nd time was when I was 18....A fight which landed me in the hospital, clinically dead for 6 minutes.
3rd time, was during childbirth...I died on the table, clinically dead again 6 minutes..
Each time, I was asked, "Do you remember anything?" Each time the answer was yes, and each time, it was all the same. I did not see a "light", except the operating room light above my head, lol.(That usually mimics the "visions" of a lighted tunnel)
Its hard to explain, but will do my best. There is no sound, no pain, no feeling at all. I was extremely mad each time I was brought back, for it was the best feeling I had ever had. There is no color, hmm, sort of like black, blue and gray...but it isn't. Its a color I've yet to ever see. Your body feels as though it is floating, in mid air, no bottom, no top, no nothing. Yet, your not moving. There is no smell...once the worst part is over, the sufficating feeling, the rest is peaceful. Imagaine the best sleep you have ever had, but intesify that times 1,000. Once I started coming through, I knew it, for the pain, smell, fear, the touch, all scenses come back and it will anger you if you remember your death. there was no light , no tunnels, no hell fire, no angels, no people of my past, there was nothing, but it was something...as I saw a color never seen before. The feeling of relief, and happiness, and care free was so great, I enjoyed being there. Imagine all the good feelings, love, happiness, etc....and intesify that times 1,000, all at once, and that was how good it felt to be there. I was somewhere, yet no-where. Like I said, it was hard to describe. My last death, as soon as I was revived, my doctor slapped me, for he thought he lost me,then asked immediately what I remembered...and he noted it. He knew something was wrong when he revived me, and I got angry and cursed him as to why he brought me back, to please send me back. So death, the worst part is the transition to it. I do not fear death, for I have seen it. I would like to one day get an artist to paint it out, but for now, it's in memory. But am sorry to say, there is no angel,or devil, or god going to greet you,for your energy goes back from where it came. It feels as though you can look around, but there is nothing to see. You just don't care, about anything there.
I have not personally, but have have taken care of several patients who have. I work in trauma/emergency medicine and so most folks I work with are "knocking on heaven's door", so to speak.
Many have said they were floating above their bodies and just watching us work on them. Some I talked to right before their passing, were usually talking to a family member.
about 5 years ago,i had a real bad drug problem.i overdosed on heroin.the doctors said my heart stopped twice.the final time i was actually pronounced dead.the emergency staff was walking out and the nurse said the heart monitor started beeping..honestly i don't remember seeing anything.
I never have, but my wife did. When we had our motorcycle accident she said she felt detached from her body. She remembers seeing her father, aunt, and grandmother. They told her that it wasn't her time yet and that she had to go back. The next thing she remembered was the hot pavement burning her back and me calling to her.
yeah i had a near death expereence onec. some one shot at my boyfriend and i pushed him out of the way and i got shot (hard 2 believe) any way i say two birds on a dove and one a raven then they both flew away into a totally black sky. i have no clue what that ment but it was wird.
That is rather unique.... I myself have not, but then again, i deal with death more often then life now...........
ive hung myself too many time to tell and i never saw anything.
All I saw was my body underneith me and I felt no pain at all. I was very sick and in pain at the time.
